Catching up with Harry Potter before “Deathly Hallows” release…

So I became officially interested in seeing the upcoming new Harry Potter film, “The Deathly Hallows” which is about to hit theaters next Friday. Yes, I will definitely go see it. However, I’m trying to catch up with the first six Harry Potter films on DVD. I just watched the first one, “The Sorcerer’s Stone” earlier tonight and it was quite good, I actually liked it. I will watch “Chamber of Secrets” the second one tomorrow night.

I know, I know. I used to bash J.K. Rowling and Harry Potter in my blog, in the past, but now I feel kind of bad for that, ’cause Harry Potter, is actually kind of cool. I’m late getting into the series. After I see all the movies, I’ll read all the books.

It’s just that when I saw the Harry Potter theme park at Universal and seen the “Deathly Hallows” trailer, that’s what made me become interested with Harry Potter. Don’t know what it is. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the movies. I’m going to try and watch all of them before, “Deathly Hallows” release, next Friday.

Report: “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows part 1” will only be shown in 2D…

Woah, even I’m kind of shocked by this announcement! Warner Bros. announced that they will only be showing the new Harry Potter film, “The Deathly Hollows” in 2D only for now. The reason is, they were unable to convert the film to 3D to be at the best quality. They still plan to release, “Deathly Hollows 2” in 2D and 3D, though. Read Warner Bros. statement, here.

I’m not a Harry Potter fan, but I honestly find, “The Deathly Hollows” really interesting to me. The film actually looks really great, yes, I said that. I don’t know if I’ll see it in theater or not ’cause I would need to watch the earlier Harry Potter films so I can catch up with the story. Honestly, I’ve never read a Harry Potter book or seen a single movie. Just wasn’t interested in this whole Wizard thing, but “Deathly Hollows” kind of got me intrigued.

Thought: Why I think “Twilight” is better than “Harry Potter”…

So, “Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince” will be out this week. Will I go see it?

No.

Why? Not only that I think that Harry Potter is the most overrated novel/movie franchise in the history of entertainment, I just think the stories don’t do anything to me, they don’t grab my attention, and I don’t see anything special about ’em. The truth is,  I just can’t get into this whole Wizard thing. It’s not really my type of storytelling

I like stories that are much more darker, which is one reason why I love the “Twilight” series more.

Both Harry Potter and Twilight have a few things in common. Both franchises were created by women, J.K. Rowling and Stephenie Meyer. Both have a huge amount of mainstream popularity. Both have a huge following of tweeny girls mostly.

As you can see, I’m no Harry Potter fan at all. I find J.K.’s stories boring. Stephenie makes her “Twilight” series more entertaining.

What is so entertaining about a couple of children becoming wizards to learn magic and go on these silly adventures that mean nothing?

I think “Twilight” is better stuff, because Stephenie make her storytelling more insightful and more detailed than J.K. Rowling’s. The “Twilight” series has more stories to tell than just a girl falling in love with a vamp. The “Twilight” series is easy targeted, the series get made fun of because of it’s tween content…when the funny thing is, “Harry Potter” is pretty much the same exact thing.

I have no interest in Harry Potter whatsoever. Tried reading the first book, couldn’t get into it. Tried seeing the first couple of movies, didn’t like ’em.

When Stephenie Meyer brought us, “Twilight”, I was impressed that Stephenie is trying to compete with J.K. The truth is, “Twilight” is bigger and more successful than “Harry Potter”.

Just wait until “Twilight: New Moon” comes out in theaters, it will destroy, “Half Blood Prince” in the box office.

Stephenie Meyer likes to make her stories more realistic and fun as if they were happening for real. Stephenie likes to explain in detail how people become vampires and werewolves, while Harry Potter doesn’t explain anything.

J.K. is overrated, pure and simple. I admire Stephenie’s work immensely. Those who make fun of Stephenie’s work because of her teen vampire views is a stupid idiot, in my opinion. I admire Stephenie’s way of trying to bring horror fiction for young kids. Of course, both Stephenie and J.K.’s work can be for people off all ages, not just for teen girls.

Sure, I get made fun of for liking the “Twilight” series, but I don’t care what anyone thinks. I enjoy whatever grabs my attention no matter what age audience the stories are aimed at.

Report: Stephen King not a fan of Stephenie Meyer, master of horror bashes the “Twilight” author…

Stephen King has read the “Twilight” series by Stephenie Meyer, and get ready for some harsh criticism by the master of horror. King compared both J.K. Rowling and Stephenie Meyer by saying, “Rowling can write, Stephenie can’t”.

Twilight fans, click here to read what Stephen King have to say about Stephenie Meyer, if you dare:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29001524/

As a fan of the “Twilight” series, this is hilarious coming from a guy who hasn’t written a great novel since “The Dark Tower” series and a guy who is no longer a bestselling author, sounds to me that King is a bit jealous of Stephenie’s popularity. Yeah, I’m sure Mr. King would love all the popularity that she’s getting. King should shut his mouth.

Stephenie’s a fantastic writer. He shouldn’t compare her to J.K. Rowling at all ’cause both writers have completely different styles. I’m sure Stephenie maybe a huge fan of Mr. King’s work and I’m sure his harsh critique broke her heart. His writing probably influenced her own writing as well.

Report: J.K. Rowling vs. Steven Vander Ark/RDR Books feud to continue…

J.K. Rowling may have won the rights over the Harry Potter Lexicon lawsuit against Steven Vander Ark and RDR Books, but it seems as though Steven and RDR aren’t backing down.

They’re planning an appeal on the judge’s decision sometime this week. They are hoping that if the “Harry Potter Lexicon” gets edited, it’ll get published that way without violating copyrights.

More on it here:

It’s cool that they are fighting back at this greedy bitch. Keep up the good fight Steven and RDR! Yeah!

BREAKING NEWS: J.K. Rowling wins copyright infringement lawsuit against Steven Vander Ark’s “Harry Potter Lexicon” encyclopedia…

Die hard Harry Potter fan Steven Vander Ark had planned to publish a Harry Potter encyclopedia titled the “Harry Potter Lexicon”. She filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against Steven Vander Ark and the RDR Books company who planned to publish it.

The judge made a final decision in court today that J.K. Rowling has successfully proven how publishing the encylopedia without her permission would harm her rights. The judge permanently blocked publication of the encyclopedia and awarded Warner Bros. studios the makers of the Harry Potter films $6,750 in damages.

It’s no surprise to me that she was going to win it. I already predicted it. She must have good lawyers that she was getting laid with to get out of this one.

Words of advice to Steven Vander Ark, tell her to fuck off and don’t support Harry Potter anymore.

Report: Harry Potter court drama day #4…Judge slams J.K. Rowling by calling her work “gibberish”, lol!!!!

The judge in the Harry Potter court room drama today criticized J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter work by calling it “gibberish” and “too complex”, lol, hilarious. The court hearings are finished but sounds like the judge just completely ignored all the bickering which caused him to order them to settle their differences out of the court room.

More on it here:

http://www.nydailynews.com/gossip/2008/04/17/2008-04-17_judge_in_harry_potter_trial_called_books.html

It sounds like there is going to be no lawsuit. The judge clearly wants them to grow up to settle things their own way. The judge don’t need to be the babysitter of Mrs. Loudmouth Rowling. Kudos to the judge, he’s doing the right thing, Rowling is just wasting her time, solving nothing.

Report: Harry Potter court drama day #3 – Judge orders Rowling to settle things with RDR Books and Vander Ark out of court…

Day #3 in Harry Potter court drama. Today in court, the judge wants J.K. Rowling or Mrs. Loudmouth to settling things outside of court with RDR Books and Steven Vander Ark.

Oh my, the judge is getting tired of her whiny bitching already and doesn’t want to hear anymore of it. I can’t blame him though.

Report: Harry Potter court drama – day #2 Vander Ark testifies…

It is now Steven Vander Ark’s turn to testify in the lawsuit for the “Harry Potter Lexicon” controversy today for Day #2. As I predicted, Vander Ark is upset. He actually cried to tears as he spoke in court today. Vander Ark says the book publishing company talked him into doing the encyclopedia but he did have concerns on whether or not it violated the copyrights to Rowling’s work.

The Associated Press reports:

http://www.localnews8.com/Global/story.asp?S=8170345&nav=menu554_2_4

What a way to treat your own fans Loudmouth Rowling. Never try to make friends with your favorite celebrities or they could stab you in the fucking back like Mrs. Loudmouth did to this poor fellow. Not all celebrities are the nicest people in the world and this shows it. Can you believe this shit? Mrs. Loudmouth got Vander Ark so upset that he got him crying in court. What a selfish stupid idiot she is.

Thought: Why I think Loudmouth Rowling is wrong…

Yes, Loudmouth Rowling has every right to control her work since she owns the copyright to Harry Potter, I even said it was all about copyright when I first reported the story. So I know all about copyright infrigement.

What’s fucked about this story and what pisses me off so much about it, that Steven Vander Ark commended nicely to Rowling that she supported his website, and respected her to visiting his website, he wrote an open letter to her thanking her for it:

http://www.hp-lexicon.org/jkr-letter.html

In an article I posted earlier, she responded back saying nice things to Vander Ark and the website, and such.

In today’s court hearing she said nasty things about Vander Ark like accusing him of “jumping the Harry Potter phenomenon” bandwagon, and call him out in all kinds of nasty bullshit. Vander Ark have to be upset right now. I’m sure he’s sad about it.

She has the right to control her work how she wants but if you read the article I posted below again…

right here…quote from article “Vander Ark was contacted by an RDR Books employee, who told him that publication of the lexicon would not violate copyright law, he said.”

http://apnews.excite.com/article/20080413/D9012L9O0.html

The book publishing company even flat out said that the book would not violate copyright law. This is why Vander Ark has every right to do this Encyclopedia. This is why he is going to win. Maybe the employee was wrong when he said it doesn’t violate copyrights, but a book company wouldn’t lie about something like that.

If writers can continue to write Star Trek and Star Wars fiction novels, it does not violate the copyright to those. Vander Ark’s “Lexicon” is written so Harry Potter fans can be entertained by, not to create a negative impact, I don’t know what Mrs. Loudmouth is worried about.  She should appreciate his promotion and marketing of Harry Potter and appreciate him being a fan, this is how he gets treated, being treated like dirt by an ego driven author. This is coming from the same woman who said one of the Harry Potter characters is gay when it wasn’t mentioned in the books and it created controversy in the news, this woman is a loudmouth because that’s what she is.

Oh yeah, and this gets better, she once said she was quitting the Harry Potter series for good and now she’s thinking about doing another one. Mrs. Loudmouth Attention Whore. I can come up with a lot of funny names for her.

Keep your head up high Steven, don’t let this egomaniac bring you down.
