Report: “Guitar Hero – Aerosmith” is finally out in stores!

Aerosmith fans! The wait is finally over! We can now jam along to our favorite band in a Guitar Hero game with nothing but Aerosmith tunes!

As a big Aerosmith fan myself, I will get this sooner or later. Hell, I haven’t even beaten “Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock” yet but will try to soon since I’m trying to beat this other games I still have.

Last night, I just started playing “Viking: The Battle of Asgard”, so I’m gonna try to beat that one next. “Viking” is a pretty fun game, I’m liking it a lot. I’ll review it after I finish the game completely.

Below, is footage from the NEW Aerosmith: Guitar Hero enjoy. I can’t wait to get it.

Thought: Being an unsigned musician is no career folks…

Do you know what one thing I get annoyed with unsigned bands and musicians? Is that a lot of them think that being unsigned is having a music career. Sure, many bands and artists (I’m not just talking about Capital District, NY musicians, I’m talking about musicians everywhere), go out on world tours at small clubs and making records but that still doesn’t mean you have a career because you get paid a few extra bucks from the clubs.

I never saw myself being a part of the bands/musicians scene having a career. I never saw other local bands and musicians doing this as a career even though they say they do. I always saw music as a passion. Just a hobby that everyone’s doing this for the love of music. Doing this for fun. I always saw unsigned music as not being a rock star type of thing.

If you want to think you have a career and be a big shot rock star wannabe, that’s fine with me. You just have to accept reality that you are unsigned like everyone else.

The fact is, if you’re a signed musician getting paid by major profesionals from the big business people in the music industry, then you have a career in music. Being unsigned is not having a career no matter much money you make from touring. Nothing wrong with wanting to make a living and making money by quitting your day job and playing music full time in your area, but don’t go calling it a career if you’re unsigned.

We’re not rock stars, we’re not big local celebrities, in my opinion there’s no such thing as that, we’re just normal people having a good time with music.

Report: Glastonbury boss says fan groped Amy’s breasts…

The Glastonbury main boss/promoter Michael Eavis who sets up the show witnessed everything that happened during when Amy punched the fan in the audience. The reason is, the male fan groped her breasts as she was standing right in front of him singing. In the video below it was kind of hard to see the fan grabbing her breasts since there was a security gaurd standing in the way blocking everything.

Amy also asked Michael Eavis if she could headline Glastonbury for next year. He seems to be down with that idea and liking it.

NME reports:

http://www.nme.com/news/amy-winehouse/37721

That’s a good reason for Amy to punch the fan if what Michael Eavis says it’s true, I guess. She still needs to be more positive speaking in between songs, nobody wants to hear her whine about her husband in jail that’s why she got booed for that part.

BREAKING NEWS: Amy Winehouse kicked out of Glastonbury show after punching fan during the song “Rehab”…

Amy Winehouse once got busted for head butting someone outside of a local bar in London, she gets in a violent way again at tonight’s Glastonbury concert at the Pyramid stage. Amy Winehouse performed a longer set at tonight’s Glastonbury, pictured above is her performing the show. At the end of the song “Rehab” while she was performing, she was singing close to the audience as she loves audience participation, for some reason, a male fan pissed her off and she punched him in the face. The security was waiting for her to finish the song to drag her off the stage, that’s what they did. Security immediately hauled her off the stage.

During her set, she goes off in a negative rant about Blake Fielder Civil her incarcerated husband which she got crowd booing at her. She once had a racist video in youtube, she goes off in a racist rant at Glastonbury saying if there is any black people in the audience and goes off in a tirade about Jay Z and Kanye West.

Report: Yet another band from the past confirming reunion…The Toadies?

The original members of the Toadies are back! The band known for making their one time hit album “Rubberneck” which became one of the best selling records of all times which included hit songs like “Possum Kingdom” and “I Come From the Water”. The Toadies were known for an electric hard rock driven band with tight grooves and using a lot of whammy bar dives in their songs. The Toadies finally has a new studio album coming out titled “No Deliverance” and will hit stores in August. The band says they are in a small indie label now, not major. The song “Possum Kingdom” is still being played on FM radio stations all over the USA.

Rollingstone reports:

So sweet the band is back after all these years! I loved “Rubberneck”! One of my favorite records in the 90’s! Todd Lewis is such a killer singer and songwriter!

Report: Amy Winehouse made it to Nelson Mandela concert with a short set…

After she’s been hospitalized for a few days, rumours were started by her father that she had emphysema, turns out by her reps it is not true. No one knows what is wrong with her but her body inside is in pretty bad shape due to her drug use. Anyways, the pop singer made it to Nelson Mandela concert as she said she would. She only performed a small set, singing Nelson Mandela “Happy Birthday”, then comes “Rehab”, and another song titled “Valerie”.

The photo above is her performing the Nelson Mandela concert and she looks damn good even when getting out of the hospital. She is also committed to playing the Glastonbury concert this weekend which is happening now as you read this.

Report: Prince on a suing rampage again, but this time against a record label doing a cover album of his songs…

The Purple one just won’t stop being such a threat to the music business! This man is evil. EVIL EVIL EVIL EVIL! Prince is suing a Norway record company that is releasing a 5 disc Prince tribute album. An 81 track album featuring musicians and artists from the country of Norway covering nothing but Prince songs. Prince and his teams of lawyers is demanding the label to stop the project immediately and destroy all copies of music made of the album. All the artists involved with this project weren’t paid, they were just doing it for fun and to respect the legend that Prince is but of course, Prince don’t care about his own fans!

While this project may be stopped, the bands and aritsts on the album still have the Prince covers available on their websites or myspaces, so expect Prince to go after the artists too.

Rollingstone reports:

http://www.rollingstone.com/rockdaily/index.php/2008/06/26/prince-sues-norwegian-record-label-over-covers-album/

Wow! Now Prince doesn’t like musicians covering his songs! Pretty hilarious considering that he’s the one that stole Radiohead’s song “Creep” which he completely ignored Radiohead’s request to keep it in youtube. For once I agree with Rollingstone, he is a fucking hypocrite.

I understand musicians being protective over their music all they want, but Prince is being way too protective of himself. A selfish man who deserves no career in the music business, retire Prince ’cause everyone’s HATES YOU!

Report: McDonald’s being whipped by Devo…

McDonald’s fast food chain is being sued by the 80’s popular new wave band, Devo. Back in April, McDonald’s released new toys for the Happy Meals with an “American Idol” based collection of toys each representing a different musical genre. One of the toys was New Wave Nigel which grabbed the attention of the band Devo. The New Wave Nigel toy had a hat that looked exacly like the one Devo wore in the video of “Whip It”. Devo owns the trademark and copyright of the red hat, and the band is taking legal action on McDonald’s. The band claims the company used it without the band’s permission.

Devo bassist Gerald Casale claims McDonald’s ripped off the band, he also made it clear that the band doesn’t like McDonald’s food, and he is committed to suing the company and taking them down. Gerald is the creator and designer of the red hat.

More on it here:

http://featuresblogs.chicagotribune.com/entertainment_popmachine/2008/06/devo-looks-to-w.html

I’m sorry to say this Devo, but McDonald’s gonna win. McDonald’s will win the dismissal. And here’s why.

If you compare the two hats that Devo and New Wave Nigel wore, both are similar style, but they are not exactly the same.

If you look at New Wave Nigel on the below pic, the hat is a bright orange color, not a dark red color that Devo wore. Plus Nigel’s hat is much wider than Devo’s. McDonald’s is completely safe here. It is not a copyright and trademark infrigement because of the differences of colors.

New Wave Nigel looks no where near Devo style. I think McDonald’s intended to make New Wave Nigel look different than Devo so the company wouldn’t get sued by the band.

Yes, I am defending McDonald’s and ripping into the band. Devo has not been in the music business for years, a bunch of old guys waiting for something to happen so they can win the lottery. Devo, bunch of losers!
