Just finished listening to Rush’s entire discography of albums…

All this week I finished listening to all of Rush’s studio albums. Listened to their entire body of work. I’m a huge fan of Rush. I’ve already heard a bunch of their studio albums before but now that Apple Music streaming is here, I got to listen to the rest of their albums. I’m a pretty big Rush fanatic. I love Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart. All 3 are phenomenal musicians. I even got the opportunity to see the band live in concert myself once which is a concert I’ll never forget (saw them during the “Test for Echo” tour, I think). Rush has a total of 20 studio albums.

I also listened to their 2003 live album, “Rush In Rio” and will soon listen to their new live album they just put out this year titled, “Rush – R40” which is their 40th Anniversary tour album.

I love all Rush studio albums but the 5 that I loved the most are:

  • Fly By Night
  • Signals
  • Grace Under Pressure
  • Test For Echo
  • Vapor Trails

Hopefully Rush will get back into the studio to record again. They’ve always been an exciting band to listen to. I still love them now.

Song of The Day: “Limelight” by Rush

In celebration of Rush’s 40th Anniversary tour announcement. I’m a huge fan of Rush myself and had the opportunity to see them live once at SPAC long ago. I would love to see Rush again but they are not coming to Albany or Saratoga Springs this Spring/Summer at all which kind of sucks but I’m glad Rush is playing again. Hopefully, the band has plans to record a new album soon too!

Here’s the full tour listing:

Congratulations go out to Rush, who are the new Rock and Roll Hall of Famers!!!

Well guys, they finally made it! Rush is finally in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! After years of fans complaining of them not making it in, the Hall of Fame finally heard us and gave us what we want. I agree that Rush deserves this and they should have been inducted ever since the Hall of Fame started, a long time ago. The Hall of Fame have never been progressive rock/metal friendly at all. They are starting to give progressive rock and metal a little more respect, as they inducted Metallica, last year, but they are still falling behind on legendary progressive and metal bands.

Other inductees who made it in 2013 are Heart, Randy Newman, Public Enemy, Donna Summer, Albert King, Lou Adler, and Quincy Jones.

See the link, here.

I’m disappointed that Deep Purple and Joan Jett got the snub, but there’s always next year.

What other progressive rock and metal bands deserve an induction? Well, other than Deep Purple… Megadeth certainly deserves in. Jethro Tull too. Dream Theater, maybe? Iron Maiden, most definitely. Kiss, of course. There are too many that deserves in.

Now YOU get to pick the “Rock and Roll – Hall of Fame” inductees…

For the first time ever, the Rock and Roll – Hall of Fame is allowing the fans to get their voice heard on who they want to get inducted. If you want Rush to make it in 2013, this is your chance to finally help the band.

I too voted for Rush, of course, I also voted: Deep Purple, Heart, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts, and Donna Summer.

See the poll, here.

Report: Rush finally gets nominated for “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame” after years of getting snubbed…

The legendary prog rock band, Rush, have been getting snubbed for a nomination at the “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame” every year, but this time, they finally got one! While I’m happy that Rush finally got the nomination, don’t be surprised if the voters don’t pick them to get inducted though. I’m not getting my hopes up yet, but it would be awesome if they got the induction ’cause they deserve this more than anyone.

I’m also happy that Deep Purple finally got a nod too ’cause they’ve been getting ignored by the Hall of Fame as well. I hope both bands will get it. I also hope Joan Jett, Albert King, and Heart will get it too. Donna Summer have been getting nominated every year but she never got the induction. Hopefully, she’ll get it this time in honor of her death earlier this year.

I hope the Hall of Fame will do the right thing and induct Rush this time, ’cause I’m a huge fan of them as well. I own several of their albums in my collection and have seen them live in concert once.

More on the story, here.

Report: Rush’s, Alex Lifeson, finally responds about getting snubbed from the Hall of Fame…

Do you think the guys in the band, Rush, are upset about getting ignored by the Hall of Fame constantly? Nope. Think again. The band seems pretty cool with it. Alex Lifeson, spoke his thoughts about it to Rollingstone magazine, and he says, the band simply doesn’t care. He says, the band was honored more awards that are more meaningful than the Hall Of Fame.

If the band ever get nominated, the band wouldn’t turn down an induction, ’cause simply put, they don’t want to be rude (like Axl Rose).

Read Alex’s thoughts, here.

I’m sure Rush would make their way into the Hall of Fame. If not? Who cares is right! Their legacy is bigger than the Hall of Fame, so who needs ’em? Rush rules. Always loved them myself! I saw them in concert one year too.

Cool Video: Rush performs on the Colbert Report here…

Here it is, Rush performing on Stephen Colbert. It was a great performance until Stephen interupted the performance at the end of it like an idiot and then he forced the show to go to commercial when the band was still playing the song. Rush should have played on either “Jay Leno” or “Conan O’ Brien” instead. Other than that, this performance is amazing. All three men in Rush are all amazing talented musicians. Geddy, Alex and Neil are all great. I’m a huge Rush fan, I have several of their albums in my CD collection including their new one “Snakes and Arrows”.
