Report: Cissy Houston, the mother of Whitney Houston confirmed to write book about the late legendary pop star…

This should be an interesting read, and I definitely will read it when it comes out. One thing I love to read are memoirs of music stars. I find that stuff entertaining and addicting for some reason. I think the reason I like to read that stuff so much is that, I want to know what it’s like to be a rock star.

Cissy Houston’s book is set for a Feb. 2013 release date, by Harper Collins.

Report: Whitney Houston’s life could have easily been saved if someone was in the hotel room with her…

Whitney Houston’s cause of death have been announced by her coroner today. It was an accidental drowning, simple as that. She DID NOT die of a drug overdose like so many speculated on, but cocaine did take a small part of it though.

Even if she did not die of drowning, this still doesn’t mean she would have died of drugs. She could have survived. If somebody was in that hotel room with her, I’m pretty sure her life could have easily been saved. She may have still been an addict, yes, but that still doesn’t mean she would have died from it. Her death was just an accident like I’ve been saying all along. This is why you shouldn’t always blame it on drugs people.

One final thought on Whitney’s death…

What’s pissing me off about all of this is, people quickly putting the blame that crack killed Whitney. Of course, people almost ALWAYS get blamed of dying of drugs just because they die young. All of this talk of people calling her a crack head and getting killed because of it, is just an opinion. It’s not factual. It’s not factual until the Autopsy & Toxicology reports proves it. Whitney’s Autopsy report is all done but they are not releasing anything until her Toxicology is done, which the Toxicology could take months or even a few years.

Don’t always blame it on the drugs, people. Maybe she died pretty clean and her death was accidental? Who knows. People like to talk like this as if they are facts but they are not. It’s just opinion and speculation.

Wait until the truth comes out, and if the autopsy/toxicology reports proves that she OD’d herself and died, then you can talk all kinds of shit about it. If she died clean and healthy, then most of you are wrong.

People online can be ridiculously stupid and not smart as they think they are.

On a lighter note, about Whitney’s funeral, I did watch it. I watched it on TV on CNN. It was pretty interesting. What I liked best about it is Kevin Costner’s eulogy, his speech was very powerful and moving. I also loved Stevie Wonder’s performance, as he is great like always. It got even more sad when Whitney’s casket was being carried out of the Church and Whitney’s “I Will Always Love You” was playing.

People might be sick of her, but when a famous legend dies, the industry will be all over it. It’s been this way for years. Remember, music artists and other celebrities dying do “matter”. When Elvis Presley died the media was all over it. It was the same way with John Lennon, Hendrix, Joplin, Buddy Holly, etc. I’m sure people were sick of hearing about them back in those days, but that’s the way the media goes. Everyone deserves to know these things.

Okay, this will be my last post about Whitney for the day, as I’ll get back to posting about other things later tonight. I’m about to watch a movie on DVD right now.

The disrespect and hate toward Whitney Houston, about her drug problems…

I am disgusted and pretty offended at all the hate and negativity toward Whitney Houston online, lately. People post a lot of hateful comments about her drug & alcohol addiction in her past. When that Chris Cornell “I Will Always Love You” tribute surfaced online, people were saying a lot of shit that Chris shouldn’t have done it because she was a drug addict. I mean, really? Do people have to be this hateful?

If I remember correctly, when Ike Turner died, I’ll never forget that everyone actually sent their condolences online about him and respected him. He died of a cocaine overdose, yet everyone still saw him as the music god he was.

Now, what’s wrong with this picture?

No matter what you all think of Whitney Houston, despite her personal problems, she was and “STILL IS”, a music legend. Period.

I’m watching her funeral on CNN as I type this, and it’s pretty heartbreaking.

Don’t always blame it on drugs, people. It’s just wrong and totally unfair. You wouldn’t be saying this stuff, if you had a family member that had a drug addiction problem. She was a music icon and a genius in the pop music world.

Grow up and respect the woman.

Report: CNN will air Whitney Houston funeral this Saturday live for TV/Internet…

Whitney Houston’s funeral this Saturday maybe a private and invite only funeral, but they are still giving everyone permission to see it live on TV and the internet. CNN & HLN will be airing and the Associated Press will be live streaming the funeral too.

Kevin Costner, Aretha Franklin, and Stevie Wonder will speak at the funeral. Bobby Brown has officially been invited, so he will be there too.

More on the story, here.

I’ll be watching. If you plan on watching too, better have a box of tissues nearby ’cause it’s going to be a sad one. It won’t be like Michael Jackson’s public funeral at all.

Even though I never bought Whitney’s music over the years, I’m just thinking of buying her Greatest Hits album.

More thoughts on Whitney Houston’s death…

Ya know, I was honestly not that big of a Whitney Houston fan. I never bought her albums over the years. This music is not really my cup of tea. The music that I mostly listen to is rock n’ roll and metal, but I will listen to a little bit of everything else. Even though I wasn’t much of a fan, I did respect her legacy and her talent herself. You couldn’t deny that she was a talented singer and actress.

Over the years, she would be everywhere. Everywhere you go, you’ll hear Whitney’s songs on the radio or watch one of her videos on TV. Somebody will even play one of her albums somewhere. I did liked her singing, it’s just that her music wasn’t really my style.

I did like “The Bodyguard” movie, and did like her Dolly Parton cover of that iconic song. I’m planning to cover that song, “I Will Always Love You” as a little tribute video to Whitney for youtube. Just to give it a try. See how it goes. Of course, I won’t be able to sing like Dolly or Whitney did it, I’m just going to give my own take on it.

I never did love songs. Never covered love songs or never wrote original love songs myself. Always been a little embarrassed and a little shy about it. I thought I would look pretty silly performing love songs, but I wouldn’t mind trying this song just for Whitney.

Love her or hate her, she was an inspiration for us all.

Her death was more evidence of what fame and fortune can do to you. It can destroy your life easily. Fame can turn you into an alcoholic and drug addict. I wouldn’t blame it on drugs and alcohol just yet though, for now it’s all speculation. People blaming Bobby Brown is not cool either. Bobby may have his problems with drugs & alcohol too, but Whitney had an addiction problem years ago before she even met him.

I’m pretty sure actor, Kevin Costner, is very devastated and heartbroken with the news too, her “Bodyguard” co-star. I’m sure he’ll speak out on her death soon, I think he’s still filming the new Superman movie, “Man of Steel”.

This is a sad loss in the music world. I’m honestly kind of pissed about it.

RIP: Whitney Houston 1963 – 2012

I was watching the news on CNN tonight for the Election coverage, and a breaking news story interupted, with reports saying that Whitney Houston just died. Like everyone else, I am very sad and heartbroken by the news. I’ve admired Whitney’s music ever since I was a child, and used to watch, “The Bodyguard”, movie all the time.

Whitney began her music dreams at the age of eleven by singing for a gospel choir. She got into music inspired by her mother, Cissy Houston, who is also a famous singer. Whitney started to learn to sing as a teenager. Whitney was inspired to become a singer with the likes of Chaka Khan, Gladys Knight and Roberta Flack, who are her influences. In Whitney’s teenage years, she would get her start at performing clubs with her mother, Cissy. Clive Davis, first saw Whitney and her mother perform, so he signed her a contract for Arista Records and Whitney signed. After the record deal, Whitney made her television debut on, “The Merve Griffin Show”.

Over the years, she has been releasing albums, and releasing a lot of hit singles such as “Saving All My Love For You”, “All At Once”, “I Will Always Love You”, “I’m Every Woman”, “I Wanna Dance With Somebody”, etc. The List goes on. She has also won many Grammy’s and many other awards.

She was also an actress, who did films such as “The Bodyguard”, “Waiting to Exhale” and “The Preacher’s Wife”. She was in the middle of doing a new movie, called, “Sparkle” this year.

Nobody knows her ’cause of death, but she has been struggling with drugs & alcohol addiction for years. She was a beautiful lady and talented. Whitney Houston was 48 years old.

Report: Warner Bros. officially greenlights, “The Bodyguard” remake, who will take over Dolly Parton’s cover, of “I Will Always Love You”???

It’s official! Another pointless remake! The original “Bodyguard” movie was very huge in 1992. Honestly, I never cared for this movie. It was overrated. One of the most overrated in all of Hollywood movies. “The Bodyguard” and “Titanic” are both way overrated.

The remake will be written by Jeremiah Friedman and Nick Palmer. The original movie is about a famous singer who hires a secret service agent, to protect herself from a stalker, of course, she and the secret service agent end up falling in love, which turns into a romantic movie.

The movie also got huge with Whitney Houston’s iconic cover of Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love You”. No director and no cast have been hired yet, just screenwriters.

See the full report here at, Deadline.

So who will take over the roles of Whitney  Houston and Kevin Costner? Jennifer Hudson or Rihanna for Whitney’s character? How about Robert Pattinson or Zac Efron for Costner’s role. Blech.

I’m getting kind of annoyed with the remakes myself.
