I was gonna change my mind and scrap the idea of the “Greatest Hits” album but I think I’m gonna go for it. I listened to both of my past demos… the one I did in 2003 and the one I did in 2006. Both of those demos has 10 songs each. I listened to them all and some of those songs I would like to bring back and try to improve. Make my older songs even better. Actually, I already re-did three of the songs off my 2003 demo for the 2006 demo… those songs were: “Evil Fred”, “Mr. Tough Guy” and “Back To Running”… those three songs were re-done many times but it don’t hurt to remake them again. I discovered a really cool folk original song I wrote called, “Big Giant Circus”, that one I’d like to bring back and try to make it even better.

It’s a good idea to do a greatest hits album too, that way I can give people an idea of who I am, what I’m about and what I do. I’ll do one album with all new original songs and the other side will be all the classics that I’m gonna re-record.

When I listened to the 2003 demo album the sound quality isn’t that good ’cause I recorded it on my old piece of shit M-Audio Fastrack interface so you’re gonna hear a lot of background hissing and there’s gonna be clipping too ’cause back then I didn’t know anything about production but now I’m just starting to figure it out finally.

I actually enjoyed looking back at my older material. Some I’ll leave behind and some I’ll bring back. There are many older songs that I wrote exclusively for youtube that I’d like to bring back too like “Take a Little Trip With Me” for one ’cause that tune has gotten a lot of attention. “The Nightmare Has Begun Today” also got a lot of attention so I’ll definitely re-do those two songs. Sometimes my original songs do get a lot of attention.

It may not seem like it but yeah, a lot of people do support my music. It’s just that the local press hasn’t picked up on me yet but that’s okay. I don’t make music for the local press, I make music for you and that’s the end of it. Each time I mention that I have people that like my music… there will be a handful of others that will deny it and call me “delusional” but fuck ’em. They’re just negative assholes. I do know I have a lot of supporters & fans of my music and I feel grateful. It’s a huge part of why I want to get back into the music thing. They make me want to make a return.

Here’s your life advice tip of the day… only listen to positive people and ignore the negative ones. Don’t give the negative people any attention ’cause they don’t deserve it. I really have been doing that a lot lately and it does help make you happier, tougher and stronger.

I know some other people get frustrated and annoyed by negative people getting all over them but don’t respond to them and don’t give them any attention. I’ve had lots of people treated me pretty badly and harshly. Lot of people gave me bullshit and drama too whether online or offline, don’t give negative people any attention. In case you haven’t noticed, I only focus on the positive people ’cause that’s who I would rather surround myself with.

Yeah, I’m always getting people judging me. People thinking they know so much about me when they don’t know freakin’ shit. Some people always seem to be getting into my personal life which I would never talk about with anybody especially to people I don’t know. I only talk about my life to people I know well and love… I don’t talk about myself to losers.

I’ve had people throw temper tantrums at me plenty. Yes.

Some people would say that I deserve all the hate and negativity and they say shit like that I had it coming but not really. I try to be “good” and be “positive” to everybody as much as I can. I try to be nice to everybody as much as possible but when people decide not to be nice to me, I’m not gonna be nice in return and that’s how it goes. I don’t start things unless people start things with me. Then they’ll get ignored and I will act like they don’t exist to me anymore. That’s how I am. Just my way of eliminating negative people from my life ’cause I don’t need it.

It is amazing to me how negative people really are these days. Why do they have to be negative to you? I think the only reason is that some people are “assholes”. That’s pretty much it really. That’s who they are. They’re showing their true colors. When all people want to do is be negative and judge you all the time… chances are they aren’t happy in life so they take it out on other people.

Positive people won’t treat you like that. The positive people will never treat others with disrespect ’cause they know they are better than that. I’m not dumb, y’all. I know who is positive and who isn’t. I like to surround myself with positive and joyful people. I like happy people and that’s who I would rather be around with.

When people want to start arguments and give you drama, it’s best to walk away ’cause you can’t win with people. If you walk away and ignore, that’s how you get negative people to leave you alone. Works all the time is by not caring and not responding. Who cares what people think of you.

Like I said in the previous post, I’ve recorded two different demo CD’s in the past. One back in 2003 on my old Pro Tools and in 2006 I recorded one in a real studio. After listening to both of them, I’ve realized I’ve came a long way with my singing. There’s definitely a big difference. Back then, I didn’t have much head voice. I was singing like I was talking. Kind of singing like Bob Dylan and Lou Reed. A lot of people used to compare me to Bob Dylan in the past ’cause I used to have that similar “talk-singing” voice that he’s known for.

I don’t think I sing like that anymore though. I definitely developed a lot of head voice, more range and more control over the years. When I record my next batch of songs, I’m gonna concentrate on good singing next time around. I don’t think I sing like Dylan anymore and I’m sure you agree.

I really love writing new original songs and I want to get back into that this Spring/Summer. I just need to upgrade my Acoustica Mixcraft DAW to the full version and then I’ll get to work.

My idea for my next batch of songs will be a mix between rock n’ roll and folk/slow ballads. I believe I’m good at making acoustic music “rock” and that’s the idea for my next batch of songs. My next batch of songs won’t be a demo… it’s gonna be a homemade record. A real album. I’m gonna design a virtual cover for it and all. I’ll upload it at bandcamp when completed.

I’m planning to make my internet album as good as possible. I really would like more people to like my music and more people have. They’ve been liking all the covers I’ve been doing and I want to see if they’ll like my originals. I feel it’s time for more originals and itching to get a lot more new music out. I’ve been messing around with a lot of interesting ideas for songs. Gonna write lyrics for them soon.

They all show off what their childhood and past life was like so I figure it’s time for me to do the same since Instagram is giving me that opportunity. I love Instagram… it’s actually a great site and I’m having a lot of fun with it. I’m real late getting into Instagram but late is better than never! After looking through my older gigging photos, it made me realize that I miss performing and I’ve been itching to get back into it again.

After doing even more digging, I found an even older 10 song demo that I did back in the early 2000’s years that I recorded on my old Pro Tools. On my first demo CD before my 2006 one, I did back in like the year 2003 or something like that. I knew it was recorded in 2003 ’cause I did only one cover on it which was Josh Turner’s “Long Black Train” and I have forgotten I recorded that cover. Maybe I’ll try to upload it to youtube somehow. It was a 10 song demo, my first demo but the sound quality is not really that good on it but I’m still proud of the work I did on it. I actually do have some unreleased material that I did in the past and maybe I will upload that stuff sometime in the future. On that demo I experimented with a lot of country and folk music ’cause I was just getting started in songwriting.

After looking back, I’m really itching for some new material and I will get right to it this year. While I’m proud of my older material… I’m gonna do my best to make my newer material even better too. My next batch of songs, I will take my time with ’cause I want to try and make my new songs the best as possible. I still have that internet album planned, don’t you worry. Will I re-record some of my older songs? I don’t know. I’ve thought about bringing back some of my older stuff and doing a “Greatest Hits” thing but I really shouldn’t bring back any of the old stuff, though. I want to see if I can make new music and I want to see if I can make even better music than ever before. I feel that my singing has gotten a lot better. I want my next batch of songs to hopefully be powerful and intense. You think my past songs were pretty tight? Wait ’til to you hear the songs that I have been sitting on. You haven’t heard nothing yet.
