BREAKING NEWS: Dr. Conrad Murray GUILTY!!! GUILTY!!! GUILTY!!!

Well, I watched the TMZ live stream of the Conrad Murray Verdict reading today. I was expecting Murray to walk out a free man, I’m not defending him, it was just a prediction. I wanted to see him guilty. Turns out, that he is guilty of involuntary manslaughter. He’s been denied bail until his sentencing, he will serve up to 4 years in state prison and will get removed from his medical license. While I’m happy to see that he’s guilty, I’m not happy with the sentencing. It should be LONGER. Make it 20 or 30 years or more.

He killed one of the most famous pop icons in the world. Somebody that meant to a lot of music fans and people loved MJ. Murray took him away from us. I’m a fan of MJ myself. It should be a longer sentencing ’cause what if Murray does this to someone else, you  know? Prison won’t teach him anything.

Why would Murray kill MJ? My guess it would be for jealousy rage. He was jealous of MJ’s fame and fortune, of course.

Black Sabbath to confirm reunion this Friday for new album and tour???

On Black Sabbath’s facebook page, they teased something that they have a huge announcement for, “11/11/11”, which is this coming, Friday. Yep, you guess it, everyone thinks they are going to confirm the Black Sabbath reunion of the original lineup with: Tony Iommi, Ozzy, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward.

Of course, I’m sure this reunion is being criticized by fans. Many are calling this reunion egotistical or they are just doing it for the money, but I disagree. Maybe they are coming back for a special reason, ’cause after all, Ronnie James Dio, just died, who was a former Black Sabbath member. Maybe they are coming back as in tribute to RJD? That could be a reason, to be fair for them.

I’m pretty sure they will confirm the reunion Friday too. I certainly would love to see them live ’cause Sabbath with Ozzy is one of my favorite bands of all times. When they do a full fledged tour, I’m sure they won’t come around Albany area. The closest you’ll probably get to see them is NYC, ’cause I’m sure they will want to play Madison Square Garden for a few nights.

Love ’em or hate ’em, you need to respect ’em. Sabbath invented the “Heavy metal” genre. Since RJD’s passing, the guys in Sabbath needs to do something, right? What else are they gonna do? They just want to keep playing.

I prefer Black Sabbath over Ozzy’s solo music anyway.

This Day In Music: 11/7/11

All year long in my facebook page, I’ve been posting “This Day In Music” status’s along with videos. Starting today, I have decided to move the “This Day In Music” for my blog. I’ve been doing this so people can know their rock n’ roll history. I love to learn about Rock n’ roll music, the history of it. It’s one of my favorite things to do. I read much about music and learn about it as much as possible. That’s what you must do if you want to be a musician. If you want to be a music lover or a musician, you must know your music history.

When I talk about music to other people and talk about the history of it, a lot of people don’t know this stuff which is crazy. That’s why it inspired me to do the, “This Day In Music”. These music facts were borrowed from other music sites, but I just post the most interesting ones.

Here is today’s, “This Day In Music”, enjoy:

Musician Birthdays: Joni Mitchell, Mary Travers (Peter, Paul and Mary), and guitarist Tommy Thayer.

– In 1951: Frank Sinatra married his second wife actress Ava Gardner, the couple split up in 1953 and divorced in 1957. Sinatra was married three other times, to his first wife Nancy Barbato, to the actress Mia Farrow and finally to Barbara Marx, to whom he was married at his death.

– In 1958: Eddie Cochran made his UK chart debut with ‘Summertime Blues’. It reached No.18 in the UK & No.8 in the US.

– In 1963: The Beatles went to Ireland to make their only two appearances ever in the country playing two shows at the Adelphi Cinema, Dublin. The group hooked up with screenwriter Alun Owen, who had been appointed to write the screenplay for The Beatles’ first (as yet untitled) motion picture. Owen spent three days with The Beatles observing their hectic, lifestyle.

– In 1970: Led Zeppelin released their third album, which features a distinctive pinwheel revolving cover. It entered the UK chart at No. 1 and spends a total of 40 weeks in the Top 75.

Cool Video: Metallica responds to negative feedback of “Lulu” briefly…

In this video by ArtisanNews, they did an interview with James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich to discuss, “Lulu”. They respond to the negative feedback that the album have been getting by the longtime Metallica fans. Their response? They said this album shouldn’t be judged by normal Metallica standards. I think they mean, they don’t want fans looking at this record as a strictly Metallica album which people are confused on. I agree, this is not a Metallica album. It’s a Lou Reed album with Metallica being the backup band like I said before.

James also agreed to do this project because he said he wanted to try something new and different by not being the leading man or a front man for a change. It was an opportunity for James to put his songwriting duties aside and let someone else do the work. James has been the leading frontman for years and he wanted to step back from it for a little bit. That is also why he didn’t sing much on the record and was just considered a backup singer.

I also agree with them that it was an obvious collaboration. When they jammed together at the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame show, people should have seen that collaboration coming anyway.

I loved the “Lulu” album, and I’ll be getting it for my Ipod soon.

Report: Too much alcohol killed Amy Winehouse, not drugs…

Well, the official cause of death of UK pop star, Amy Winehouse have been announced. Alcohol poisoning was the result of her death, which was, “death by misadventure”. Her blood alcohol levels was more than 5 times than the legal limit for driving.

More on the story, here.

This should be a wake up call to all alcohol drinkers out there. Not just alcoholics, this goes for occasional drinkers too. It’s stuff like this is why I don’t drink anymore.

I used to get myself loaded as fuck at house parties and local band shows, but I had to cut it out. I didn’t want to see my life that way.

There are way too many drunks these days and it’s just sad. There’s nothing great about drinking. It messes your life up, no matter what you think of it.

Report: Steven Tyler falls again, but this time in a hotel shower…

*sigh* Here we go again. Steven Tyler and the band Aerosmith are in Paraguay for the start of their international tour. Steven was staying at a hotel in Asuncion, and fell while taking a shower. It was a brutal fall. Blood was everywhere and Steve knocked out several teeth. He was treated at a hospital for injuries.

More on the story, here.

It’s either he isn’t a 100% clean with the drugs & alcohol yet, or he is just getting old. I’m sure this is worrying the other guys in Aerosmith. Hope, Steven’s fall won’t end up cancelling the rest of the tour like it did the last time.
