Tony Iommi finally giving the other singers of Black Sabbath some well needed attention…

So I just bought the Deluxe Versions of the Black Sabbath albums: “Heaven and Hell” and “Mob Rules” which both of those albums had Ronnie James Dio as a singer. Tony Iommi released those albums as a Deluxe Edition just not too long ago. There are no unreleased tracks on the Deluxe Versions, just a bunch of live stuff after the studio albums gets done playing.

While Black Sabbath were active, all they did was ram the Ozzy era down our throats constantly. They never gave the other singers any acknowledgement until now. Tony releases “Heaven and Hell” and “Mob Rules” as a way to remind Black Sabbath fans that Ozzy wasn’t the only singer in the band.

Yeah, Sabbath should celebrate the Ozzy era of Sabbath… now that the band is no more officially… it’s time to celebrate the other eras. It’s time to get the whole career of Black Sabbath out there. I’ve read somewhere that Tony Iommi is planning release a box set of the Tony Martin era of Sabbath real soon which is gonna be real cool. I believe there were two other singers of Sabbath which only lasted for an album or two: Ian Gillan and Glen Hughes.

I never heard the “Heaven and Hell” and “Mob Rules” studio albums before and I just gave them both a listen this week. Both albums are amazing. It’s Ronnie James Dio, I’m just starting to get into his music more too ’cause he’s one of the greatest rock singers of all time. The live stuff on those deluxe albums are really cool too so I’m glad I bought these two albums.

I’d say it’s about time that Tony Iommi is trying to get the other singers of Sabbath known again… Ozzy wasn’t the only singer of that band, remember that. I’ve loved Black Sabbath for a long long time, ever since I was young and still listen to that band now. Tony Iommi has always been one of my favorite guitarists and he is the riff master for sure. He definitely knows how to write riffs with “power” and knows how to make them sound musical… riffs that never leave your head. Tony was the master at that… while Tony is mostly well known as a riff master and rhythm guitarist, another reminder that Tony is also a lead guitarist and he played some mind blowing solos in Sabbath songs. Iommi has always been one of my top 10 guitarists. He’s a genius for sure.

Since Sabbath will never make a new studio album ever again, Tony is still trying to find ways to keep fans happy by re-releasing the old albums into Deluxe editions which is a good idea, in my opinion. That’s smart band marketing.

Ozzy throws Tony and Geezer under the bus and says he didn’t enjoy final Black Sabbath reunion… my thoughts…

Interesting. Black Sabbath is officially done and over with. They released one final studio album in 2012 and they just completed a final tour titled, “The End”. Why did Sabbath suddenly decided to break up? Maybe it was because Ozzy didn’t enjoy being in the band anymore?

Ozzy says that he kept getting bad vibes from Tony and Geezer. I think what Ozzy was trying to say is that Tony and Geezer saw him as a singer, Ozzy saw himself as more than that. Tony and Geezer didn’t appreciate Ozzy being Ozzy meaning being part of the celebrity pop culture. Ya know, Ozzy turned himself into a TV star like with “The Osbournes” and he kept doing other projects with the Osbournes. Ozzy is also an author and has books out too. He’s also currently doing a TV show with his son Jack on the History Channel.  So Tony and Geezer just sees Ozzy as a rock singer and not seeing him as celebrity Ozzy is that what Ozzy is mad about???

I love Ozzy Osbourne but I’m not afraid to admit that he is a bit of an egomaniac and narcissist and this should be good enough to prove that. I always saw that Ozzy sold himself out when he did “The Osbournes” TV show. He’s supposed to be a rock singer and metal guy. Instead, he turned himself into a TV star and Hollywood celebrity. That’s how people see Ozzy now. They don’t see him as a rock singer anymore.

Tony and Geezer don’t keep up with the times… they don’t get themselves into this reality TV garbage. They see themselves as musicians, not celebrities. It seems to me that Tony and Geezer don’t appreciate Ozzy doing all that celebrity stuff… trying to be a celebrity and not a musician. I can see where Tony and Geezer are coming from so I’m on their side for sure.

I believe Ozzy destroyed his rock star image when he did the Osbournes which to me was pretty sad and disappointing. Black Sabbath went out on a positive note and it was pretty low of him to talk negative stuff about Tony and Geezer but oh well, what do ya know? It’s the music industry… there’s gonna be huge egos all over.

Fans will always see Ozzy as a celebrity and not a rock singer. Ozzy did that to himself. He needs to get over himself already!

Black Sabbath’s “The End” live 2 disc album was really good… listened to it earlier today…

Last night, I went to the mall and picked up myself a few music albums and Black Sabbath “The End” live 2 disc album was one of them. I listened to the whole album today from start to finish and it really was a phenomenal album. While the band played a really good show that night, I was most impressed with the album’s sound quality. The sound is really big on this album and it’ll sound good on your home stereo system. I’m sure the vinyl version of this album will sound even more amazing, though.

As far as the album itself goes, it was a really good final concert for Black Sabbath although, there are still some important Sabbath songs that they should have thrown into the set… they left out songs like “Electric Funeral”, “Changes”, “Planet Caravan”, “Sweet Leaf” and especially “The Wizard”.

Of course “Planet Caravan” was a song that was never played by Black Sabbath at a concert and never understood why? It’s a great song and one of their best tunes, in my opinion.

This album is recommended listening if you’re a Sabbath fan like myself.

I’m also impressed with Tony’s guitar tone on the album as you know, Tony is an expert on guitar sound so it’s no surprise that his guitar would sound great on it.

It is kind of sad that Sabbath wants to call it quits this soon. It’s understandable, though since Tony is still battling cancer and Ozzy is getting older so it’s a good time for them to hang it up, I guess.

Is the Black Sabbath vs. Bill Ward feud over? They’ve buried the hatchet and Bill back in the band for final tour?

Ever since this feud has been going on, Black Sabbath has been cropping Bill Ward out of their band photos and finally here is a Sabbath band photo with Bill not being cropped out this time. Is this a hint that Sabbath vs. Bill Ward feud is over? Has the hatchet been buried finally? Did the band have negotiations with Bill behind the scenes to give him that “signable contract” that Bill wanted? Is Bill gonna be the drummer for the final tour of Sabbath? That’s what it’s looking like. This photo is a pretty good indication that Bill maybe back in the band again but we’ll wait and see.

Tony Iommi still wants to keep making Black Sabbath music with or without Ozzy & Geezer?

Ozzy and Geezer both may have ruled out another Black Sabbath album and claims there won’t be another Sabbath album but Tony Iommi has a different opinion on that matter. Tony says he wants to keep going ’cause he says he’s written tons of riffs that would be good enough for another Sabbath album; however, Geezer and Ozzy doesn’t seem so keen on recording another Sabbath album.

Keep in mind that Tony, Ozzy and Geezer weren’t always the lineup for Sabbath ’cause Sabbath went through too many lineup changes over the years so what’s stopping Tony for changing the lineup of the band again? He can if he wants to. Sabbath is Tony’s baby. Tony has full control and ownership of the band so he does what he wants to do.

Black Sabbath, the Ozzy era…

Over the weekend, I’ve just listened to the rest of the Ozzy era Black Sabbath albums on Apple Music. While I’ve been a longtime Sabbath fan, I’ve only heard a few Ozzy era Sabbath albums like their first album, Paranoid, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, Masters of Reality, Sabbath Vol. 4, and their latest album 13. I got around to listening to the rest of Ozzy era Sabbath albums over the weekend: Sabotage, Technical Ecstasy, and Never Say Die.

All Ozzy Sabbath albums are really great but I think their best albums are: Paranoid, “Sabbath Bloody Sabbath”, “Sabbath Vol. 4” and their new one “13”. I would say their newest album, “13” would be my favorite ’cause it is a really great album.

So far there are only 9 Ozzy era Sabbath albums and their planning to end their career with a 10th Ozzy album which is perfect to end their career on.

Black Sabbath went through 8 singers over the years but it’s pretty appropriate to end their career with Ozzy as frontman since he helped started the band.

I can’t wait for Sabbath’s next album. I think their next record is gonna sound different than 13 ’cause remember… Black Sabbath always liked to sound different in every album they did. You never know what they have in store for their next record. Each album they do, they usually do like 7 or 8 tracks ’cause they always write pretty long songs. I’m sure their next record is gonna be great like always. It’ll be full of tasteful riffs by Tony ’cause he is the riffmaster.

Black Sabbath has a total of 19 albums so they’ll be ending their career on their 20th album which is good. Sabbath had a good run. It’s sad that they have to end this soon but Tony’s health isn’t getting any better. I’m a huge Sabbath fan though and respect the hell out of Tony Iommi ’cause he’s a favorite guitarist of mine.

Hopefully they give us a heavy album for their next record. Give fans what they want before they go out.

As for the other singers in Sabbath goes, I was only a fan of the Ozzy era and the Ronnie James Dio era. The Dio era in Sabbath was great too. I never listened to much of all the other singers but I should check ’em out, though.

Bill Ward vs. Black Sabbath feud continues…

Yesterday, Bill Ward of Black Sabbath posted this. Still bitching about that “signable” contract in order for him to re-join…

Ozzy responds, calling Bill Ward out and even went as far as bashing him publicly… read it here, it’s actually pretty funny and I can totally see him saying this in his typical Ozzy voice…

I don’t know too much about the industry and all but from what I understand, there is no “signable” contract when playing in bands in the national industry is there? I don’t think so. I don’t think members sign on to join bands. When people join bands in the major labels, the musicians ask if you wanna join and that’s it. I believe there is nothing “signable”. When legendary bands reunite, they don’t sign anything. They just get together just like any band would, ya know?

So I think Bill is full of shit when he claims he should sign a negotiable contract. I think he’s definitely has something to hide like his health problems like Ozzy has been saying.

I wish fans would wake up, get themselves educated and stop siding with Bill ’cause they shouldn’t trust him either. Bill is just being a greedy douchebag and I’ve been saying that ever since this feud started. The guys in Sabbath will welcome Bill back in the band anytime, Bill is just being greedy and difficult about it. Ozzy and Bill are both telling their sides of the story.

Why can’t Bill stop this “signable” contract bullshit and just play? Isn’t that what music is about is playing for the love of it? Maybe Ozzy is right that Bill is just using his “signable” contract excuses as a cover for his health problems.

I feel a big lawsuit battle coming. Who’s gonna sue first?

Ozzy still hopes Bill Ward will be part of the upcoming farewell reunion…

Black Sabbath is not quite finished with their career yet. They have one last album and one last tour in the works; however, the band still wants Bill Ward to be a part of it. The reason? Ozzy simply wants the four original members to finish what they started.

Bill bailed out on the last reunion ’cause he complained that he didn’t get a negotiable contract so Sabbath went ahead without him. Why? Why did Sabbath go ahead without Bill Ward and didn’t give him what he requested? Was Bill asking for too much money? That’s probably it!

Like most fans, I’m hoping they bring Bill back ’cause Sabbath deserves to go out with it’s founding members. I’m sure Bill still can kill it on the drums. I just wish he would stop being so strict and greedy. It’s just music, Bill!!! Who needs a negotiable contract!!! Just go up there and play!!! The end!!!
