Report: Neil Young rocks Isle of Wight festival by playing mostly classics, not his new stuff…

Neil Young played a great set at Isle of Wight, a music festival in the UK. He brought out mostly classics, staying away from his new music. He even played, “Hey Hey My My”, and ending the set with a Beatles cover, “A Day In the Life”. After the song got over with, Neil blasted his guitar amp with loud feedback by shaking the instrument, and breaking the guitar strings off of it. A 60 something year old man, still rocking hard with energy. Neil Young has been in the UK to prepare for his performance at the huge “Glastonbury” festival.

BREAKING NEWS: Bruce Springsteen jams with Trey Anastasio and Phish at end of Bonnaroo weekend!!!

At Bonnarroo last night put on a huge huge surprise. Phish closed out Bonnarroo weekend by inviting Bruce Springsteen himself to the stage to jam with Phish on a few tunes. It was just Bruce himself, not the rest of the E Street Band. They played “Mustang Sally” cover, “Bobby Jean”, and “Glory Days”.

We all know Bruce loves jam sessions with other famous musicians at the end of concerts. We’ll definitely get a Bruce and Neil Young jam at “Glastonbury” probably, maybe the guys in Blur will jam with them too.

See the video of Bruce and Phish performing “Mustang Sally” below. Why would they play a popular bar band song at a huge show? Very weird.

Oh my! It’s fucking amazing to see the original lineup of Phish back together! I can’t wait to see them at Spac in August! Here is Phish taking the stage from Bonnaroo Friday night! WOW!!!!!! When I go see them at Spac, I’ll indeed get my hippie dancing shoes on! More videos to come if I find ’em!

My brother and his girlfriend both went to Bonnaroo Fest all this weekend, they are so lucky, I’m a little jealous but in a good way though. They are probably in that Phish audience somewhere.

Report: Chris Cornell surprises fans at Download festival…

Chris Cornell, shocks fans by giving them what they want at the Download festival. He brought out the metal rocking, Chris Cornell. Not the mainstream pop, Chris Cornell. During his set at Download, he played mostly Soundgarden and Audioslave classics. He only played 2 or 3 songs from his solo career.

It’s nice to see Chris finally giving what the fans want and not being a selfish man for a change. Hopefully, Chris will smarten up and make a metal/rock record when he records a new one.

And I fucking love how he threw Temple of the Dog’s hit “Hunger Strike”, that song is incredible and it’s nice to see Chris perform that song.

Thought: Chickenfoot is one of the worst rock bands today…

The lineup isn’t bad… they need to get rid of Sammy Hagar as their lead singer. Sammy is not a good vocalist. He was back in his early 80’s days, but hearing the new stuff he’s doing with Chickenfoot, (which also includes guitar shredder Joe Satriani, Chad Smith of the Chilli Peppers, and Michael Anthony of Van Halen) has not been that great.

Their band name is possibly another one of the stupidest band names I ever heard. Talented musicians, don’t get me wrong, but a lineup like this is way more crazier than James Iha’s other band, Tinted Windows.

How come the lineup of the band, Tinted Windows, is easy targeted and gets made fun of by everyone, yet, Chickenfoot gets a free pass? Chickenfoot is a band full of ego maniac nostalgia has beens while Tinted Windows has a lineup that no one has ever heard of.

Chickenfoot, is horrible and I hope this band fails. Tinted Windows is a much better band than Chickenfoot, in my opinion. Tinted Windows can rock, Chickenfoot can’t.

I think Tinted Windows is one of the best supergroups to ever come around. I will not get the Chickenfoot CD. I’ve been listening to Chickenfoot songs in youtube, and they haven’t been grabbing me, ’cause they don’t have the energy I’m looking for.

I like Joe Satriani but him doing a band with vocals isn’t for him, man.

I wonder how Chickenfoot’s concert at the Palace Theatre in Albany will sell. I’m thinking the Palace will only be half full or maybe less.

Report: Lita Ford, shred guitar goddess, returns with new album and tour after 15 year hiatus from the music business!!!

After a 15 year hiatus from the music business, Lita Ford, the 80’s shred guitar goddess is back!!! She is set to release a new album this Fall, titled, “Wicked Wonderland”, which the album is a return to metal and shred. She also plans a Summer tour to promote her upcoming album.

Over the years of her hiatus from music, she got married and raised a family. Now she is ready to rock again!

Report: Brett Michaels slams the Tony’s, blames award show for accident…

Bret Michaels team of lawyers, speaks out on his accident at the Tony Awards, where Brett was in the middle of singing, he turns around, started to walk toward the back of the stage, when a set piece coming down, crushing him to the floor.

Brett’s lawyer says that if it was Liza Minelli or Elton John that was injured instead, more concern would have been shown. The lawyer also blames the Tony’s for the accident by not stopping the piece when Brett was under it.

Um, I believe the staff and crew behind the Tony Awards would be very concerned for all injuries that happens on the show. Brett and his team of lawyers are being delusional, Brett being a dumbass as usual. It wasn’t the Tony’s fault for the accident. It was actually Brett’s fault.

If the loser rockstar was paying attention to what he was doing, he wouldn’t have gotten squashed like a pancake by the thing in the first place. The guy’s been on stage in a rock band for years, he should have known what it is like to be on stage by now.

Maybe this is a good enough sign that he’s too old for this rock star thang….

A 19 year old drummer who plays for an Oregon based local band gets the opportunity of a life time. Being the official drummer for the Smashing Pumpkins. Who is he? His name is Mike Byrne, who plays drums for the Oregon band: Moses, Smell the Roses…

Springsteen and The E Street Band coming to SPAC!!!

There may just be another summer concert that I’m going to be interested in going to. Springsteen and The E Street Band is going to make a stop at SPAC in Saratoga Springs on Aug. 25th, tickets go on sale this Thursday at 10 a.m.
