Cool Video: Neil Young premieres “Johnny Magic” official video…new song…

Neil Young premiere’s a new single off his new upcoming album, “Fork in the Road”. The name of the new single, “Johnny Magic”, the video is exclusively at yahoo music.

The video is nothing much, it’s just Neil Young driving a car, and singing along to the song on the radio. Neil finally decides to take a break from politics and write songs about other things for once. Neil maybe getting old, but he’s still a fuckin’ badass and a killer songwriter! Great video and great song Neil! It’s nice to see Neil have a sense of humor! Comedy in this video, indeed!

Report: James Hetfield released from hospital, reported to have food poisoning…

Above is a recent picture of James Hetfield leaving a hospital in Sweden. James is seen waving to the camera, and wearing all black clothing. James and the rest of the band in Metallica, had takeout dinner from an Indian food restaurant in Stockholm. James must of ate something that wasn’t too good. Hetfield says he is fine, it wasn’t serious.

Blabbermouth reports:

That’s a sigh of relief, glad he is okay. I’m pretty sure they won’t be eating Indian food ever again now.

Thought: Have you ever disliked a music artist at first, but then liked them later?

It may seem a little weird, but it does happen with people. When you hate a certain music artist or a band, you listen to them for a while, all of a sudden, you’re a big fan. It is called, the music growing on you. You may not like it at first, but as you listen to it more, you realize that it’s really good stuff.

It recently happened with me for Taylor Swift. At first, I wasn’t that crazy about her music, but I realize that I find her to be really good.

This has happened with me with other artists/bands as well. It has happened with Amy Winehouse, Kate Nash, Bjork, Jennifer Hudson, Rihanna, and plenty of other music. Artists who I didn’t like at first, but enjoy them now.

Has this ever happened to you out there? Feel free to name some artists you didn’t really like at first, but it grew on you later on!

CD Review: Taylor Swift “Fearless”…

I’ll admit that I was a bit scared of listening to her music. I thought this girl was another one of them typical overrated pop stars, you know, fitting along the lines of Britney Spears, Lady GaGa, Miley Cyrus, etc. After finally picking up “Fearless” just out of pure curiousity, I was actually blown away by the record. The songwriting on this disc is just unique, original, different, tight, intense, chilling, etc. I can go on. The production of the record was well done. Taylor’s singing is the most maturing singing I’ve heard in a long time.

The music on the album very much reminds me of earlier alternative/pop/rock with the likes of the Pretenders, the Cranberries, Fleetwood Mac, etc. That’s what Taylor Swift reminds me of. Taylor is a rock n’ roll chick who has something going. Old school female rock, the stuff that you hear back in the 70’s and 80’s of female rock n’ roll.

I enjoyed the whole album very much so I don’t really have favorite tracks, I think the entire record overall is my favorite. So before you go thinking she’s just some stupid pop star like I did, give her album a listen, it’ll grow on you. I usually don’t like popular and overhyped music artists, but Taylor Swift is actually one of the really talented ones. I really loved the album. It’s pretty sick. I know why it dominates the Billboard charts because it really is a good album.

Score for Taylor Swift’s “Fearless” = **** (4 stars as in “Excellent”)

The Listening Room: Hear Tom Morello’s new band, Street Sweeper, here!!!

Look like the guys in Rage Against the Machine, already formed a new project with a new singer/rapper, since Zach De La Rocha left the band again. This is a new band with a new frontman called, Street Sweeper. As usual, the music sounds very similar to Rage, but the only difference is the vocals/rapping. As always, Morello’s guitar playing is phenomenal and so great.

According to their myspace, they are unsigned for now, but with this being Tom Morello and the left over guys from Rage, I’m sure they will find a label once they get done touring.

So I picked up Taylor Swift’s “Fearless” today…

So today at the mall, I ended up buying Taylor Swift’s CD, “Fearless”. Don’t know why. Just did. There’s something about this chick that makes you addicted to her even if you aren’t really into this type of music (maybe that’s why she’s so fucking popular). Hey, I enjoy country music (some of it) and I kind of grown into liking her youtube videos a little bit.

Yes, she maybe a little mainstream and too pop, but she’s one of the most successful in a long while. Gotta give her that credit.

I’ll post a small review after I listen to this a few times. Haven’t listened to it yet, but will this weekend. I also picked up U2’s “No Line on the Horizon” today as well.

I usually don’t buy CD’s in the national music industry anymore, sometimes I do, if something catches my attention and if I’m interested in it. I’ve grown interest in Taylor Swift, her music may actually be an enjoyable listen.
