Cool Video: Triple H eulogizes Lemmy Kilmister at memorial…

Pretty cool speech by WWE’s Triple H eulogizing Lemmy Kilmister. It’s pretty well known that Triple H is a die-hard fan of Motorhead as the band Motorhead created three different theme songs for Triple H. Lemmy has always been an important part of WWE history. Yep, you hear Lemmy’s singing voice almost all the time on RAW and PPV shows whenever Triple H is on TV. Lemmy has always been important to the wrestling industry.

David Bowie’s “Blackstar” album is freakin’ mind blowing… holy crap… what an amazing album!!!

Since I heard David Bowie’s entire discography of albums, I’ll have to say that Bowie’s new album, “Blackstar” is his best album in years. I would say it’s his best album since “Aladdin Sane” which was released in 1973. “Blackstar” is indeed his best album in over a decade. I think “Blackstar” absolutely deserves a Grammy nod for “Album of the Year” for sure. This album definitely deserves a bunch of awards ’cause it’s that amazing. The songs on this album are intense and haunting. Sends chills. This is Bowie’s best singing as well.

Over the weekend, I kept listening to “Blackstar” repeatedly. Listened to it like 4 or 5 times or over. I’m glad I bought my own copy of the album ’cause I’m gonna be listening to it a lot. “Blackstar” is definitely way better than his previous new album, “The Next Day”.

You guys out there should give this album a listen yourself. You won’t be disappointed at all. Every song is so amazing on this album. Yes, this album is pretty jazzy and this album also kind of fits in the current mainstream of pop music a little bit too. I don’t mind Bowie doing pop music ’cause he’s the best at pop music. This album is so fucking great. Do yourself a favor and get it!

The internet is a good opportunity to be a DIY artist or band…

12513873_984379458274584_2667546856976705792_o

I stole this from a band called, the Lucky Jukebox Brigade in facebook. What they said here is so true.

Who needs to be signed to a record label, ya know? I used to dream of being signed to a record label whether Indie or Major but I don’t care anymore. Too many bands & artists live under the delusion of becoming a signed band whether indie or major but with the power of the internet… you don’t need record labels anymore. A lot of unsigned bands & artists these days have been doing the DIY approach of releasing their music for the internet.

I’m about to do the same. Do the DIY approach with my own music when I start to make albums. When I make albums, I’m going to release them all on the internet for free. A lot of bands & artists don’t care to the DIY approach anymore. They would rather have the label do all the work for them. When you release your album for the internet, it’s all up to you whether you want to have people pay for it or release your album for free.

It’s just that what a lot of bands & artists do is that they don’t release their albums in it’s entirety online. They make you listen to like 3 or 4 songs and if you like it enough, they make you pay for the whole thing. Why not just release the whole damn album?

A lot of bands & artists online can be pretty shady when it comes to releasing music online, they’re all about the money really.

You don’t need labels anymore to get recognized for your music. To get recognized for your music online all it takes is good marketing skills, word of mouth and just simply making good music. You can do all that on your own and you don’t need a label to do that for you. A lot of bands & artists are so lazy and careless when it comes to marketing their music. I think I’m pretty good at marketing and promoting my own music but I could get better at it, though. You don’t need a record label to become a star. If you know what you’re doing, you can become a star on your own by doing all the work yourself.

The internet is a powerful tool. With the power of the internet, you don’t need to make CD’s anymore either. I love the internet and that’s why I have chosen to make albums for the internet only and not make albums on physical CD. Nobody cares for CD’s anymore to begin with. Everyone’s getting their music digitally nowadays.

Happy birthday, David Bowie…

I know I’m a day late but I want to wish David Bowie a happy birthday who just turned 69 yesterday. The man also released a new album titled, “Blackstar” which I bought and downloaded from Itunes immediately. I bought the new “Blackstar” album last night and plan to give it a listen today. I haven’t heard it but I know it’s gonna be good ’cause all of Bowie’s music is good.

I’m a die-hard Bowie fanatic as well. I heard his entire discography of albums finally thanks to Apple Music streaming. How can you not like Bowie’s music? There’s not one album that I don’t like. I love all of his music.

Below are 5 of my favorite David Bowie songs of all time.

Happy birthday, Jimmy Page…

Seriously, I love Led Zeppelin so much. I may like a lot of music out there but Led Zeppelin will always be my no. 1 favorite band. Yeah, I’m a die hard Led Zep fanatic and very proud of it! I’ll always stay loyal to Led Zeppelin. People can say all kinds of negative things about the band all they want to and try to get me to turn my back on them but it’s never gonna happen. I just fuckin’ love Led Zep.

I wouldn’t be where I am today if it weren’t for them. If it weren’t for Led Zeppelin, I wouldn’t have picked up the guitar and became a musician myself. I’m a guitar player ’cause of Jimmy Page. When I saw what he did, I knew what I wanted to do for the rest of my life and I want to play guitar like him.

Happy birthday, Jimmy and thanks. \m/

Can’t get over how great the band, Bully, really is! WOW!!!!

I would recommend you give Bully’s first album, “Feels Like” a listen. It’s a great album. I wish I waited to do that “Top 15 albums of 2015” video until after I heard this album but too late now though. I would have liked to include that album on that list for sure. This band is like 90’s alternative music all over again for sure.

This is how the music industry today should have been like. The mainstream music industry should be just a bunch of musicians picking up their instruments and write songs… not relying on “auto-tune” and “lip-syncing” like all them manufactured pop stars.

I really love the girl in this band. She’s so freakin’ cute and she can sing for sure.

I listened to their album “Feels Like” two times in a row this morning and I wanna buy my own copy of their album for sure. This is a great band who doesn’t write long songs and they keep the songwriting simplistic. Glad the industry is making bands like this popular again. Rock music is coming back but slowly!

Gary Clark Jr. just got a new fan, think I’m addicted to his music now…

I’ve read so much about Gary Clark Jr. through various guitar magazines over the years but I’ve never really gotten around to listening to his music until now. Now that streaming services are a big thing in the music industry, I finally got around to giving his two albums, “Blak and Blue” and “The Story of Sonny Boy Slim” a listen. The music of Gary Clark Jr. is very good. Glad I finally got around to listening to his albums. Gary Clark Jr. actually has a total of 4 albums, it’s just that his first two albums were independent releases so they won’t be available for Itunes. He is a great guitar player and singer though. He’s not just blues music. He adds a variety of music in his albums. He also blends in rock, R&B, pop, etc. He blends in a little bit of everything. These two albums are fun to listen to and I’m probably gonna get my own copies of them soon. He’s a phenomenal guitar player too. I plan to give his live album a listen soon. His music is enjoyable to listen to. Check him out.

Guns N’ Roses “Coachella” performance confirmed w/ Slash & Duff being part of the lineup…

Last night, the Guns N’ Roses official facebook finally confirmed their reunion and their return will be for “Coachella”. Axl himself confirmed it on his official twitter page as well. Slash and Duff McKagan also confirmed that they will definitely take part in the lineup for “Coachella”.

For the Guns N’ Roses new lineup, who is gonna be the drummer and the second guitar player? It’s looking like that Izzy and Steven are both out. Matt Sorum is out too. So the drummer is probably gonna end up being Frank Ferrer and the second guitarist is probably gonna be Richard Fortus both who were part of the previous lineup. It’s still a reunion since Axl, Duff and Slash are coming back.

Some people may not care for Guns N’ Roses anymore and they only cared for Gn’R ten years ago but give it time, y’all. I’m sure the reunited Gn’R will put on a killer set at Coachella and they will blow people’s minds again like they used to do. The reunited Guns N’ Roses will be like a bit of a throwback, a blast from the past kind of thing and that’s what it’s all about, y’all! A celebration of the Guns N’ Roses legacy. It’s gonna be a great set and I hope they stream it live on the internet so I can watch it.

Video: Check out this killer new band called, Bully… they are very good!

Is this band a bit of a throwback to 90’s alternative rock a little bit? I would say so! Alicia Bognanno has quite the singing pipes on her. That girl can sing for sure. She’s also a great guitar player as well.

After seeing this performance, makes me wanna listen to their album “Feels Like” and I will.

Watch this video and check it out for yourself. They remind me of Nirvana and the Smashing Pumpkins a little bit.

Why blues music is really important to listen to…

Blues music is still the most underappreciated genre. Not a lot of people listen to it anymore. I’ve listened to blues music all my life. It’s one of my favorite genres other than rock n’ roll and metal. A lot of people accuse blues guitarists of “noodling” but not really. What you can’t seem to remember is that blues music is the roots of all music. All the music that you listen to out there whether it’s rock n’ roll, metal, country or even pop music all of it is blues inspired.

As a matter of fact, metal is where it came from. Metal came from the blues. When Black Sabbath invented what they called back then “heavy metal”…Tony Iommi inspired the genre ’cause he listened to a lot of blues music. Tony’s playing was always pretty bluesy. Metal came from when Tony started Sabbath off as a blues band called Earth and he inspired that Sabbathy sound from Jethro Tull. Jethro Tull who is another bluesy influenced rock band.

It’s important to listen to blues music and I’m not just talking about Eric Clapton, SRV, Joe Bonamassa, Gary Clark Jr., and Hendrix. That stuff is great but forget that stuff. You want to listen to real blues like B.B. King, Albert King, Freddie King, Muddy Waters, Sonny Boy Williamson, Robert Johnson, T-Bone Walker, etc. The old stuff. Yeah, I think you get the deal now. I listened to all that stuff over the years of my life.

This could explain why my lead guitar playing always turns out so bluesy all the time. I would like to make rock and metal inspired guitar licks and leads but I can’t help it. My lead guitar playing always sounds pretty bluesy. I blame that on listening to too much Led Zeppelin and Hendrix probably. I also blame it on listening to other blues music.

When I first started playing guitar, I kind of wanted to learn how to be a blues guitarist. Been teaching myself blues guitar by learning from instructional books and trying to figure out leads by ear and stuff.

Someday I would honestly love to make a blues record and I will. In case you haven’t noticed a lot of my original songs I write is very blues inspired especially songs like “Evil Fred” and “Mr. Tough Guy”.

Blues music is important to listen to. It helps you learn where today’s music came from. It’ll help inspire you and blues will help you improve as a musician. Plus, blues is just badass music to listen to. I really wish blues music would get recognized more although, I do know that Joe Bonamassa, Gary Clark Jr. and John Mayer still try to keep blues music alive and well.
