Apple Music is here but I don’t have IOS 8.4 yet…

I’m planning to give Apple Music a try but I don’t have IOS 8.4 yet but I’m sure it’ll come up soon in the “Software Update”. I’m not sure if you can get the new IOS 8.4 for the Ipad 2 but hopefully. I’ll find out soon. I know I won’t be able to get IOS 8.4 for my Ipod Touch ’cause I have an earlier edition of the Ipod Touch, I have the 4th generation I think… the 6.1.6.

https://www.apple.com/music/membership/

I would love to give Apple Music a try ’cause if I decide to subscribe to that instead of Spotify, I’ll no longer have to buy music from the Itunes store at all. Apple Music subscription is cheap, $9.99 a month, cheaper than Spotify. Spotify costs $12.99.

I used to never agree with music streaming services and used to never agree with Itunes but I’m just starting to have a change of heart with all that stuff.

This week, I just started listening to a prog rock/metal band called, Opeth. I listened to their albums, “Orchid”, “Deliverance” and “Ghost Reveries”… they were all incredible albums too! I’m late getting into Opeth but I’m loving their music a lot.

Streaming music is awesome. I’d like to subscribe to either Apple Music or Spotify so I’ll no longer have to keep buying music from Itunes. Thinking about it.

The Grateful Dead plays Levi Stadium for 50th Anniversary…

Oh man… I kind of figure that the Grateful Dead still got it even if Jerry Garcia is gone. I’m sure Jerry would have been proud of them! Grateful Dead still killing it!

Is it just me or is Trey Anastasio looking very nervous? I can see why ’cause he is on stage playing with the fuckin’ Grateful Dead! A dream come true for him! At the same time Trey is looking very happy and psyched.

The surviving members of the Dead still play very well together… Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann. They still sound like the Dead even after all these years. If Jerry was still alive, I’m sure he would have been up there instead of Trey.

I kind of wish I was at these final shows. If I find more videos with good quality, I’ll post ’em.

I’ve heard most of those songs too. I’m trying to search youtube for some of the performances but they aren’t in youtube yet. I would love to watch the live stream but of course, you have to pay money in order to watch it.

I’ve read somewhere that these concerts will be released on CD/DVD later this year so I’ll hear it then.

Of course, you can expect there will be plenty of arrests and a lot of cops will be around ’cause police officers love going to jam band shows as it keeps them busy. A lot of drugs and hippies will be around for sure. I know ’cause I’ve seen Phish a couple of times and been to jam band concerts before. Hippies are nice people though… of course they are ’cause hippies are all about “peace and love”.

When Eddie Van Halen claims he doesn’t listen to others music…

Toward the end of this video after Eddie Van Halen gave us a little guitar lesson, he claims that he stopped listening to music after he listened to Eric Clapton in Cream.

Eddie pretty much said the same thing in his latest interview with Billboard:

http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/rock/6605231/eddie-van-halen-addiction-david-lee-roth-touring

So he’s a guitar player and doesn’t listen to music. Kind of strange isn’t it? Now I see why Eddie Van Halen isn’t the greatest songwriter in the world. Yes, he’s one of the greatest guitar players of all time, yes but when it comes to the songwriting department, he’s terrible.

You’d think if he would listen to a lot of music that would help him become a better songwriter with his band, Van Halen. It’s a known fact that Eddie isn’t the best songwriter.

Even Sammy Hagar knows that Eddie isn’t great at songwriting. Back in 2012, Sammy called out Eddie for the Van Halen song, “Tattoo”.

From this article:

“He says Eddie Van Halen isn’t as good at songwriting as he is at guitar, before directly comparing him to his Chickenfoot colleague Joe Satriani. “Eddie is a genius guitar player and he can really play and he’s got a million things he can lay on you but you’ve got to try to make a song out of it,” he said. “Joe comes with the song, done, all I have to do is write lyrics and figure out what I’m going to sing to it.

http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/general_music_news/sammy_hagar_slams_van_halen_single.html

This is why I believe Eddie should have just been an instrumental guitarist but instead he have chosen to make a lot of money making a bunch of hit songs.

I think if you wanna become a great songwriter when you play an instrument, it’s important to listen to as much music as possible. I’ve always believed it was important to do.

I love Van Halen, the band but only the early David Lee Roth stuff. Most of the newer music by Van Halen isn’t really all that good. I think Eddie is best at being an instrumental guitarist ’cause “Eruption” is one of his best work. I really hope Eddie will one day make an instrumental solo record but I don’t think he will. He needs to make big hits in order to continue to make a living.

It’s no wonder Van Halen hasn’t made great music as of late ’cause Eddie doesn’t listen to others music that could influence and inspire him.

He’s still a genius guitar player, though.

RIP Michael Jackson who passed away 6 years ago today…

Celebrating the music of Michael Jackson today. I really was bummed about his passing and still am. Don’t care what anyone says, I’m a fan. Always have been ever since I was a kid. I used to buy his albums all the time. When his videos came on MTV, I would crank up the volume and sing along to the songs. Love him or hate him all you want to, he was a genius. I’ve always believed that Dr. Conrad Murray murdered him and it turns out that he did.

If MJ was still alive today, I’m sure he would have moved on to be an actor ’cause he was on the verge of retirement from the music business ’cause that’s what “This Is It” tour was about. “This Is It”, the tour that never happened.

MJ may have had his problems but he wasn’t perfect just like all of us aren’t. We’re all human so get over it.

Why is the media protecting Bobbi Kristina? What do they have to hide from us???

I hope Bobbi Kristina gets well and hope she pulls through like most people but one thing that kind of scares me about this whole story is how the media might be hiding something about her. On January 31st, 2015 of this year… Bobbi Kristina was found in a bathtub unresponsive… very similar of how her mother, Whitney was found. Bobbi Kristina has been in a coma ever since. She continues to get worse and she’s been recently moved to a secret hospice.

You see, everybody knows that it was probably crack that did this to her. I think the hospitals already know what did this to her, I think they are not releasing any info about what happened to her. It’s obvious she OD’d on crack, it’s gotta be obvious, right? Why won’t the mainstream media admit that? What are they hiding? Are they keeping this info to themselves out of respect for the family or they are afraid that the race card might get played if they did admit it? Maybe it’s the family that is being secretive about it.

The media is doing everything they can to blame this on someone else like her boyfriend, Nick Gordon. The media and the family are doing everything they can to point fingers at him when they refuse to accept the fact that Bobbi Kristina may have did this to herself. Bobbi Kristina probably was on the crack for a pretty long time and it finally got her. When you’re a junkie, you do that to yourself. So people blaming Nick Gordon is pretty absurd, in my opinion.

Another thing I don’t understand about this whole drama, is how the media is treating Bobbi K. like she’s god or a legend or something when she hasn’t had a career professionally in anything? She wasn’t an actress or a music star. She’s just Whitney’s daughter and everybody’s treating like she’s so important. Nobody knew who Bobbi K. was until this happened. It’s ridiculous, in my opinion.

Why does the media have to shove a junkie in our faces? People were quick to attack Kurt Cobain and Whitney Houston over the drugs but people are being compassionate toward Bobbi K.

Maybe even Barack Obama has something to do with all this secrecy and he’s helping to protect them, the Houston’s.

Show me one article that tells us how Bobbi K. got into a comatose ’cause I’m willing to bet you won’t be able to find one. It’s bullshit, man. All of it.

I’m predicting that Nick Gordon didn’t have anything to do with what happened with Bobbi K. Even though they’re not gonna find any evidence of Nick Gordon’s responsibility, they’re gonna do whatever it takes to make him look guilty… the Houston’s won’t give up. They’ll never admit Bobbi K. did this to herself. People don’t force others to do drugs. They make that decision on their own.

It’s very weird to me how the media was quick to attack Whitney Houston but they’re being compassionate toward Bobbi K. Doesn’t make any sense to me at all.

Former Seattle police chief calls for re-investigation of the death of Kurt Cobain…

Even the former Seattle police-chief, Norm Stamper, is calling the investigation of Kurt Cobain’s death to be reopened. I agree. Kurt’s death is worth another look, ya know? I think America deserves to know the truth of what really happened to Kurt. I would think, all the Nirvana fans would like answers too. Either way, there is no proof on whether or not Kurt killed himself or he was murdered but I’ve always believed he was murdered.

http://consequenceofsound.net/2015/06/seattles-former-police-chief-says-kurt-cobains-death-should-be-reinvestigated/

There’s been a lot of talk that Kurt Cobain was actually shot by another punk musician named Allen Wrench who plays for a band called The Mentors. He also murdered another punk musician named, El Duce ’cause he revealed the truth of who killed, Kurt.

Anyway, if you look at the Kill Allen Wrench facebook page, there are Nirvana fans on there accusing him of murdering Kurt. Allen Wrench seems to be enjoying it and getting a laugh out of fans blaming him.

https://www.facebook.com/pages/Kill-Allen-Wrench/182148178469543

Could the Kurt Cobain case be re-opened due to that film? Hopefully! If it’s true that Courtney had Allen Wrench kill Kurt Cobain and El Duce, hopefully that gets proven soon. Allen Wrench and Courtney could be on their way to prison soon, so cross our fingers for now. That punk singer El Duce may not have been a good guy but he deserves his justice too.

If it turns out to be the truth that Courtney hired someone else to shoot Kurt, then that would be a huge news story for sure. It will be a big media frenzy. Courtney going to prison will be big.

Most importantly, I really think Frances Bean deserves to know the truth as well. The surviving members of Nirvana also deserves to know especially Dave Grohl. So hopefully Dave will get around to watching, “Soaked In Bleach”.

Nickelback cancels North American tour due to Chad Kroeger’s medical issues with throat…

I’m not a big Nickelback fan but this is a bummer this had to happen. I know there’s gonna be all kinds of bad jokes about how Chad Kroeger’s “horrible” voice made his throat hurt and all but he’s human like the rest of us so I wish him well. Many years of singing on tour and in the studio will put a lot of damage to your throat. Hopefully his singing days won’t be over for good ’cause that’s the scary part, ya know? Your music career could be over due to health problems. I was never a big fan like most people. It’s not because Chad’s voice sucks or their songwriting sucks, it’s just that their type of music is not my cup of tea.

I’m sure the haters are happy as hell, though. Let the hating commence…

Study: Listening to metal can decrease anger, increase positive emotions…

Are you in a bad mood? Upset and pissed off about something? Well, listen to METAL! This kind of music will make you a lot happier. Check this interesting article out…

http://loudwire.com/study-listening-metal-decrease-anger-increase-positive-emotions/

This is part of the reason why I prefer to listen to hard rock & metal than anything else. It’s what you would mostly see in my music collection. I would try to listen to all the metal greats as much as I can such as Led Zep, Black Sabbath, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Dream Theater, Iron Maiden, Queensryche, the Scorpions, early Kiss, Ac/Dc, etc.

Sometimes I would listen to death & Black Metal like At the Gates and Venom. I should get into more death metal, though and will.

Listening to heavy music can definitely get your mind off of things. I just love hearing heavy guitars.

You would not see me listening to mellow music too much. I’m a rock n’ roll kind of guy and always have been. I’m trying to get into as much metal as possible, though. People usually can’t see me listening to this kind of music ’cause I don’t have long hair or tattoos. I don’t need to. I just love the music. Plus the songwriting is better.

Video: L7 still killing it on stage…

Here are the all-female grunge rockers, L7, performing a show in France. As you can see they are still very popular and they still get a lot of fans even after their long hiatus in the music business. When this band first started, I believe they were in their 20’s. Now they are in their 50’s and still killing it!

Donita Sparks is looking pretty hot for her age. There isn’t just one lead vocalist for this band. Donita, Suzi and Jennifer all take turns singing lead vocals for a song.

As I watched this video earlier today, I had a smile on face while watching it ’cause it’s so enjoyable and kind of cute to see women rockin’ on stage and seeing them enjoying it. I’ve heard most of these songs before ’cause I am a longtime fan of this band. I used to have their albums on physical CD but don’t know what happened to them so I’ll have to re-buy them from Itunes soon.

I also hope L7 releases a new studio album. They really should and I think they will since their comeback is a success.

I just think it’s amazing to see full grown women playing heavy rock n’ roll. Age doesn’t matter. It’s about the music!
