As some of you know, I’m a huge Star Trek fan so I guess you can say that I’m a Trekkie. Have been ever since I was a child. I was obsessed with the original Star Trek series when I was a kid and I still love that show today. I also loved all of the 6 original Star Trek films that Leonard starred in as Spock: “Star Trek: The Motion Picture”, “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan”, “Star Trek III: The Search For Spock”, “Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home”, “Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country” and Leonard once again reprised his role as Spock for JJ Abrams, “Star Trek” film. He also had a cameo in “Star Trek Into Darkness”.
While most people remember Leonard as an actor who played the legendary Spock, he was more than just that. Leonard was a multi-talented man. He did it all in the entertainment business. You name it, he did it. He was an actor, film director, screenwriter, poet, author, singer/musician and photographer. He did release his own music albums and published his own books over the years.
As a film director, he did direct other films besides “Star Trek III” and “Star Trek IV” in which he was the director of those two movies. He was also the director of the comedy film, “Three Men and a Baby” in which I’m sure most of us seen.
Leonard passed away at his Bel Air home, he was 83 years old.
Lesley Gore was an American pop singer who is most famous for her hit, “It’s My Party” in which was featured in the film, “Problem Child”. She died at a New York City hospital of cancer. She was 68 years old.
A lot of you may have never heard of him but Mike Nichols is one of the most respected film directors in Hollywood. He was responsible for giving us the classic film, “The Graduate” which is a film that starred Dustin Hoffman. I love “The Graduate”, it’s one of my favorite films in movie history. If you have a Netflix account, “The Graduate” is streamable for Netflix so you might wanna check it out too if you haven’t yet.
Mike is also responsible for making other movies that we all know and love such as “Working Girl” (w/ Harrison Ford, Sigourney Weaver), “Regarding Henry” (also w/ Harrison Ford), “Wolf” (the werewolf movie w/ Jack Nicholson), “The Birdcage” (w/ Robin Williams” and other films.
Pretty sad news and a sad loss for Hollywood. Mike Nichols passed away at 83 years old.
Even though the legendary band, Cream which had Eric Clapton (guitar), Jack Bruce (bass) and Ginger Baker (drums) only lasted for two years… the band’s music was still unforgettable and amazing. Sadly, we learned today that one of their members passed away which is their legendary bass player, Jack Bruce.
Cream was partly responsible for starting the psychedelic movement in rock music back in the late 60’s.
Jack was the one who wrote the main riff to “Sunshine Of Your Love” and it became one of the most important riffs in rock music history.
I love the music of Cream and we just lost one of the greats. Below are two videos of Cream’s reunion show at the Royal Albert Hall.
Joan Rivers wasn’t just a comedienne and stand-up comic. She was a multi-talented woman who did pretty much everything in the entertainment business. She was a TV host, author, a film actress (yeah, she had some movie roles), producer and whatever else you can think of, she probably did it.
I remember Joan voiced the character Dot Matrix for the “Spaceballs” movie. She had a cameo in “Muppets Take Manhatten” and had a cameo in “Iron Man 3”. She also did a voice over for “Shrek 2”.
I also remembered seeing her on “Celebrity Apprentice Season 2” in which she was the winner of that season.
Love her or hate her, Joan was a legend and she did so much over the years in the entertainment business. She wasn’t famous for being famous at all… she got famous ’cause she deserved it with the talented lady that she was.
She was also well-known for speaking the truth no matter the consequences. She wasn’t afraid to speak her mind and tell it like it is. Yeah, she was obsessed with plastic surgery but the woman admitted to it and made fun of herself for it many times over the years.
I know she’s not everyone’s favorite but I think the only reason she’s hated by some is because of her hardcore conservative views. That’s why she wasn’t liked too much by liberals. She’s also anti-Obama is why people don’t like her.
This was a sad loss and Joan is definitely gonna be missed. When she said all those things about Barack and Michelle and then she stood up for Israel, that made me respect her a lot more. I just wished she could have lived a lot more so she can tell more Obama truth.
It’s a sad day in the world of entertainment. Robin Williams just passed away due to an apparent suicide. We may never know why he did it and why he was having depression issues. I don’t wanna get into the negative stuff. I don’t wanna speculate so lets celebrate Robin’s career in a positive way.
Like most, I grew up watching his movies and followed his career ever since I was a child. He got his start in the TV sitcom “Mork and Mindy” in which he was most famous for and then he got his first film role in “Popeye” which is one of my favorite films of his.
Robin Williams was more than just an actor. He was multi-talented. He’s not just a comedy actor either. He could play anything that throws at him in the movie business. He didn’t just play comedy roles. He did pretty much every genre in the movie business. Whatever he did, he played well. Other than comedy films, he has done some serious dramas like, “Dead Poets Society”, “Awakenings”, and maybe a few others. He has also done a few violent and dark thrillers like “One Hour Photo” and Christopher Nolan’s “Insomnia” in which he played the bad guy. He could do it all. He could play funny and hilarious characters to lovable family-friendly characters to dark and evil characters. When he did play in comedy movies, he didn’t just do movies for kids either… he did R-rated Comedy for adults with films such as “The Birdcage”, “Cadillac Man” and “The Fisher King” which all of those are great movies.
He did other well known films such as “Hook”, “Jack”, “Jumanji”, “Flubber”, “Toys”, “Death To Smoochy” and the list goes on.
He was also a stand up comedian who would do stand-up comedy shows from time to time.
Robin Williams was a genius and a great talent. A very sad loss in Hollywood. Like most, he was an inspiration and a hero to me. I looked after him myself.
Look like “Mrs. Doubtfire 2” isn’t gonna happen ’cause remember, they greenlighted that movie earlier this year and Robin was game to returning to that role too. So sad. Wonder what’s gonna happen to “Doubtfire 2” now??? They’re probably not gonna go forward with the film now, I would think. They should probably trash the film.
Today a sad day. RIP Robin. 😦

As a huge fan of the original, “Texas Chainsaw” movie… I feel that this passing is worth posting. Marilyn Burns who played the leading role in the original 1974, “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” (which was directed by Tobe Hooper) has passed away. She was found dead in her home in Texas. Her cause of death is not yet known at this time. While she is most famous as her role as Sally Hardesty, she has appeared in several other films in her career. Films such as “Helter Skelter”, “Eaten Alive”, “Kiss Daddy Goodbye”, etc. Marilyn returned to her Sally Hardesty role for “The Return of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation” and she appeared as Verna Carson for the latest Texas Chainsaw movie, “Texas Chainsaw 3D”.
A sad loss in Hollywood and I’ve always considered her as the true scream queen. She gave the best screams.
I’m a huge fan of the Ramones. Always have been. They’ve always been my favorite. Tommy Ramone who is a drummer and the last founding members of the Ramones have just passed away. Tommy was the big inspiration for the band as he was the one who helped them write, “Blitzkrieg Bop” and “I Wanna Be Your Boyfriend” which are both killer songs.
I love the Ramones. They were a pretty serious band and took no shit. They took what they did seriously. I love how they wanted to keep all of their songs short and simple. When they play live, they don’t waste time in between songs either — they play a song one after another.
While all members of the Ramones were great, Johnny will always be my favorite, though.
I haven’t seen too many films with actor, Bob Hoskins… the only two I’ve seen of his were “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” and “Super Mario Bros”. I have seen “Roger Rabbit” too many times. It’s one of my favorite films and one I could never get tired of watching. “Roger Rabbit” is definitely an essential classic and Hoskins was great as Mr. Valiant, he killed that role. Of course, “Super Mario Bros.” was a horrible film but I’m sure Hoskins inspired us all with his role as Mario. Despite the negative reviews of “Super Mario Bros”, I thought he made a great Mario. Just wished that film could have been written better.
Even though I haven’t seen that many films of his, I respected him for his work in “Roger Rabbit”. I know Rob Zemeckis have been planning a sequel to “Roger Rabbit” for years now and there is no chance of Hoskins returning as Mr. Valiant. Shame. They might have to kill the sequel now ’cause the film wouldn’t work without Hoskins.
I woke up this morning to the news that the Ultimate Warrior (real name: Jim Hellwig) passed away all of a sudden. The news was first announced by Triple H on twitter… then WWE.com confirmed the news. The news later spreaded all over the internet.
Like most, I am devastated and heartbroken on this one. I loved the Ultimate Warrior for years. Loved him in the old WWF days and the old WCW days. Of course, we all know him with the match that made him famous with Hulk Hogan at Wrestlemania 6 but he put on many other classic matches too.
For this past week, on April 5th, Warrior got inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Appeared at Wrestlemania 30 on April 6. He also made a surprising RAW appearance just last Monday on April 7th. Warrior didn’t wrestle a match on RAW, he just gave a speech out in the ring. There was something mysterious about his RAW speech last Monday (see the video below). Was Warrior’s speech a goodbye to the WWE universe and his fans? For all the WWE appearances that Warrior made recently this week, he wasn’t looking too good. Was Warrior sick and kept it quiet about his health problems?
If Warrior was really sick, why would he take the time to make all of these WWE appearances? Before his death, he buried the hatchet with everybody he has been feuding with publicly: Vince McMahon, Jake the Snake and Kevin Nash. He buried the hatchet with everybody except for Hulk Hogan. Did Warrior knew what was coming for him and he was preparing to die? He came back to WWE briefly ’cause he wanted to do something for his fans before something came to him. He knew death was coming for him and he was ready for it.
One thing for sure he was a very devoted family man. He was devoted to his wife, his kids and his fans. So I would consider his fans to be part of his family too. Warrior was willing to interact with his fans online and he was willing to meet them in person. He was willing to take photos and sign autographs for fans. Warrior also had nothing but love for people. He wanted what was best for everyone. That’s why Warrior made home videos of himself on youtube giving advice to people that they should live a successful and good life. That’s what his “Always Believe” stuff was about. He also inspired people to get into working out, eating healthy and bodybuilding.
He was a great guy and he was very positive. He also was a very honest man and kept everything real.
How come he never buried the hatchet with Hulk Hogan? Did they still hate each other?
Anyway, lots of questions that needs answers over Warrior’s passing. I am wondering what kind of health problems he kept hidden and I’m sure we’ll find out soon. He may have never had one last match but he did express interest in having one last match against Vince McMahon. That would never happen obviously. I’m sure Warrior’s DVD sales will go up because of his passing.
Warrior is survived by his wife Dana and his two daughters. He was 54 years old.
