Thought: A Metallica and Megadeth supergroup collaboration needs to happen soon!

Now that the Metallica and Megadeth feud is finally over with, does that mean there is a possible collaboration in the works sometime in the future? I think it might be a possibility that members of Metallica and Megadeth could collaborate on a studio album together in a supergroup, but giving it a different band name.  I can definitely see it happening. Maybe James, Kirk, and Lars can do a side project with Dave Mustaine, Chris Broderick and bassist Dave Ellefson with a new studio album with original songs. I can see this supergroup doing a tour together, playing a mix of Metallica and Megadeth hits along with their new originals.

Maybe Metallica and Megadeth will discuss a project together when both bands are done touring.Metallica and Megadeth looked great together on stage at Sonisphere, so I think a supergroup between them would work.

Hey, if it worked for supergroups like Chickenfoot and Them Crooked Vultures, why not Metallica/Megadeth form a supergroup for an album and tour? Again, it’ll probably happen but it definitely won’t happen right away.

Cool Video: Dave Mustaine jams with his former rivalries at Sonisphere Big 4 show…

You want proof that Dave Mustaine buried the hatchet with all of the bands he feuded with in the past? He feuded with all 3 bands at the Sonisphere Big 4 show: Metallica, Slayer and Anthrax.

It is so amazing to see Dave Mustaine jam with Metallica again after all these years. I mean look at Dave on stage. He looks so happy and thrilled!

This is a great performance too!

Finished reading Dave Mustaine’s book, brief review…

I just finished reading Dave Mustaine’s book today. It was quite the interesting read. I thought it was one of the best and most insightful musical autobiography’s I’ve ever read. Dave Mustaine really did a good job clearing up the things that happened in the past. He of course, talked a lot about Metallica. That was pretty much he mostly talked about throughout the entire book, it was all Metallica discussion. He talked about the long feud with Metallica and how he buried the hatchet with the band later in the years. He also talked about his feud with other metal band, Slayer. I didn’t know that Kerry King was a member of Megadeth very briefly. Kerry was in Megadeth for a little bit before the band was signed to a major label. Those two have been feuding ever since. The Megadeth and Slayer feud is officially over and they’ve obviously buried the hatchet since they are on tour together now. Dave also defends Slayer in the book that they are not a Satanic death metal band.

Dave talked a lot about his history with drugs and alcohol. He stays clean and sober today because of his arm injury that he had in the past. Why all the hatchet burying with all the bands Dave’s been feuding with in the past? It’s because Dave became clean and sober, he got himself baptized into the Christian religion and he just wanted to become a better person. So he wanted to show that he can be a good guy by supporting Metallica and Slayer.Dave didn’t talk about the Big 4 shows in Europe for the Sonisphere gigs because he must of finished the book way before then. Dave just didn’t want to hold negative grudges for so long. So they wanted to prove fans that they buried the hatchet by getting on shows with Metallica and Slayer. As a way to get people to stop talking about their feuds publicly.

Dave admits that the Megadeth albums “Cryptic Writings” and “Risk” was the worst he’s ever done, because they were more mainstream pop, than metal. Dave also admits that Megadeth never made a no. 1 record for the Billboard. Most Megadeth albums were successful, but they never hit no. 1 on the Billboard. I’m sure one day Megadeth will make a no. 1 record, it’ll happen for them, it’s only a matter of time. Now that Metallica are friends with Megadeth again, Dave will probably get plenty of songwriting advice from James and Lars.

The book was a great read and it is a must read if you’re a fan of Megadeth or a fan of metal. I too am a fan of heavy metal, as you can tell, but I don’t like death metal/satanic bands. I don’t like goth or black metal either. I just like plain old metal with good guitar playing and just regular singing, not screaming and growling. I listen to a lot of metal like Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Pantera, Dream Theater, Soundgarden, Opeth, Lamb  of God, etc. because it’s inspiring music for me to listen to with my own guitar playing. If I want to improve my rock guitar playing, I figure it’s appropriate to listen to as much metal music as possible…just for inspiration. People don’t see me being a fan of metal, but yes, I love the genre, always had.

Megadeth is a great band and Dave is a talented guy. Many people hate him because of his ego and his cocky attitude, but hey, that’s part of the music industry. All musicians have egos and have cocky attitudes (that includes me too, sometimes). I don’t take the ego thing personally and seriously. That’s just the way music is. Pick up the book soon. It’ll make you understand Dave as a person and a musician a little better.

Metallica’s big 4 show photos…

Man oh man, that’s a badass picture isn’t it? Isn’t it hard to believe seeing Kerry King, Dave Mustaine and James Hetfield in the same picture? The three of those guys have been enemies for years. There’s your evidence that they officially buried the hatchet. I’m happy that Kerry, Dave, and James are all on the same page now!

I’m pretty sure the Big 4 shows will be getting a DVD release in the future.

See more pictures from the first “Big 4” gig they had in Warsaw, Poland here:

Thought: Will Metallica let Dave Mustaine jam on a few songs just for old time’s sake???

So Metallica and Megadeth will be sharing the stage together for the first time in years! This is really thrilling news. It definitely does let people know that these two bands are on the same page. The thing you must wonder is, will Metallica let Dave Mustaine jam on a few Metallica tunes like the good old days? I know Metallica loves collaboration with other artists sometimes, so I don’t see why they wouldn’t? I’m sure they have an all star superjam being planned out for the “Sonisphere” shows in the Czech and Poland.

I know us Americans are probably dissapointed that we won’t be able to see this, since this is an out of country concert, but maybe they are planning a full world tour for this “Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax” show after Sonisphere.

This is exciting news and I can’t wait for the youtube videos to start hitting the net of these concerts when they start doing Sonisphere.

I’m sure this is just a test to make sure how successful this gets. If Sonisphere is a huge success, then maybe all 4 bands will confirm a US tour for us? I’m sure they are planning something up their sleeve ’cause they know this won’t be fair for us Americans. Keep our fingers crossed.

BREAKING NEWS: Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax to share the stage for the first time!!!

Dave Mustaine of Megadeth has always been known to get into heated feuds with other metal bands over the years. Mostly with Metallica and Slayer being the big ones. Dave already buried the hatchet with Slayer. Now it looks like he officially buried the hatchet with Metallica.

I mean come on now, if Mustaine and Metallica still didn’t get along, they wouldn’t agree to do this show at all. So it’s obvious they talked things over and put their differences aside after 30 years of feuding.

I’m glad ’cause that feud with Metallica and Megadeth was getting old and pretty stupid. Now this is definitely possible for a full Megadeth/Metallica tour in the future.

This is solid evidence that Dave still loves Metallica after all these years. This show sounds killer, and I agree, it is a historic announcement for the music industry. Especially for metal fans. It is a dream come true for metalheads.

This show will happen at the Sonisphere for the Czech Republic.

Check it out here:

Hope they record this for a DVD release. I’m sure they will be video taping it, it’s a huge show that all metal fans wants to see, so of course, they will video tape it.

Report: Dave Mustaine says upcoming Megadeth tour will squash potential fued with other band…

Dave Mustaine, the leading man of Megadeth, says his band is about to go on a tour that will end a long feud with another band for good. He refuses to say what band it is now but he plans to announce the news on Megadeth.com soon.

Blabbermouth reports:

http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=117897

Many users in the Blabbermouth comments are guessing all kinds of bands like Slayer, Metal Church, Suicidal Tendecies, Down, etc.

I think it’s obvious it’s going to be Metallica. Metallica and Megadeth to do North American tour? Man, if Metallica and Megadeth shared the gig at the Times Union Center Nov. 12th, I would fucking shit myself, that would be fuckin’ amazing!

Is it possible that Metallica and Megadeth finally set their differences aside, and acting like brothers now? Only time will tell and we’ll find out soon.

Notice that Metallica has not yet announced an opener for their North America tour, could it actually be Megadeth? It’s possible. We’ll have to wait and find out.

Report: Dave Mustaine explains why he turned down the Hall of Fame invitation…

Megadeth’s main man, Dave Mustaine, reveals the real reason why he turned down the Rock Hall of Fame invitation. While the major Megadeth tour is part of the reason why he turned it down, he drops the bombshell that the main reason why he declined ’cause he also wanted to be inducted since he used to be a member of Metallica. I think Dave is making a lot of sense. I agree with him.

More on it here:

http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=117464

I love Metallica and all but the dudes leaving Mustaine out of the induction is pretty lame. He never played on a Metallica record but Dave was one of the first guitarists of the band. That’s a good enough reason that Dave deserves to be inducted with the band too, but I guess that’s what happens when James and Lars’s egos gets in the way.
