Report: “Fraggle Rock” making a return to the big screen…

The Weinstein Co. has just greenlighted to make Jim Henson’s “Fraggle Rock” into a live action motion picture. The original characters Gogo, Wembley, Mokey, Boober and Red will be making a return to the film. The story focuses that the characters leave their underground world to our world which they think the humans are aliens just like in the TV series. The TV series is co-starred by Gerard Parkes who plays the role of Doc who works in a workshop and is an inventor that has a dog named Sprocket.

The movie does not have any other cast members announced and neither a director. Just a bunch of producers and writers are signed to the picture.

Fraggle Rock only lasted 5 seasons back in the 80’s. I don’t think it’ll do very well in theater but who knows.

I just think the Weinsteins just trying to compete with the new Muppet movie in the works.

Cool Video: Final action scene in “Rambo”…

Geez, scenes from the new “Rambo” movie are already getting leaked to youtube even before the DVD comes out on May 27th.

This scene is the actual final action sequence from the new “Rambo” 2008 film. This is the scene where Rambo finally comes back at the Burmese army with a vengeance. Enjoy this edge of your seat scene.

In my opinion, this is the greatest action movie sequence ever made in any action movie ever.

This scene may have some major SPOILERS, so if you haven’t seen the movie yet, DO NOT click and watch, just wait for the DVD to come out to experience the fun.

Enjoy.

Report: Warner Bros. lie about “Speed Racer” box office budget…

Warner Bros. continue to show how much of a disgrace that company is to the film industry!!!!!!! They lie about the budget “Speed Racer” made last weekend. In the public reports, they said that “Speed Racer” made about $20.2 Million being no. 2 behind “Iron Man”, but in reality, the film really made $18.7 million making it no. 3.

Variety Reports:

Fuck WARNER BROS!!!! I lose my respect to them everytime they pull something like this. The more success a company gets, the egos expand. That’s the way this society is.

Report: After Indy 4, here comes Abe Lincoln for Spielberg…

Right after Steven Spielberg gets done promoting “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”, he will get right to work on the next film about our 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War. Spielberg will make this film through Dreamworks and could possibly begin filming early next year. Spielberg had actor Liam Neeson confirmed to play Lincoln which is a perfect choice for the role.

Look like Spielberg is aiming for the Oscars on this one. And sounds like this one may be a long film between 3-4 hours. Spielberg had always been known to make long films so don’t get your hopes up if this will be a short one.

Report: “Iron Man” still tops box office, “Speed Racer” flops…

“Iron Man” still stays strong on the no. 1 spot for box office this weekend. “Speed Racer” starring Emile Kirsch is no. 2 making around 20 million.

The Associated Press Reports:

http://apnews.excite.com/article/20080511/D90JKPUO0.html

“Iron Man” won’t be no. 1 much longer since “Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian” came out this weekend. “Prince Caspian” will indeed beat “Iron Man” in world records. I will be seeing “Prince Caspian” tomorrow on my day off of work.

Oh yeah, speaking of “Iron Man”, I picked up the video game version of “Iron Man” for the PS3 at Best Buy today. I won’t play the game right away though, I need to beat “Grand Theft Auto IV” first before I start to play any other games. I think I’m officially addicted to videogames again. I don’t buy music CD’s or movies on DVD’s much anymore ’cause I’ve gotten back into videogames. I went out shopping with parents this afternoon since it’s Mother’s Day and all so I decided to go to Best Buy ’cause I couldn’t resist in buying something for myself.

Report: Buck Rogers coming to the big screen…

Nu Image/Millenium has acquired the film rights to “Buck Rodgers” a popular fictional story that got it’s start in the 1920’s in radio, then made it’s way to comics, TV, movies, etc. The TV series had two different actors play Buck Rogers, Gil Gerard and Buster Crabbe.

Nu Image/Millenium’s company owner Avi Lerner won the rights from the suriving family members who run the Dille Trust company. Frank Dille was the creator of the Buck Rogers series. Disney used to own the rights to the Buck Rogers character but the Dille family won the rights from Disney.

Variety reports:

http://www.variety.com/article/VR1117985373.html?categoryId=1972&cs=1

I have always been a huge fan of the Buck Rogers series. I’d say bring the film on!

I hope they don’t mess this one up and hope they choose a good actor to play Buck.

Report: “Donnie Darko” sequel is in the works…

A sequel to the 2001 movie “Donnie Darko” starring Jake Gyllenhaal is being made. The sequel will be titled “S. Darko”. Fox studios has already won the North American rights for this film. Daviegh Chase reprises her role as Donnie’s younger sister. The film will be directed by Chris Fisher and will be about a $10 million budget film.

The film picks up from where it left off in the first one where Donnie’s sister is now a full grown adult, and she goes on a road trip with her best friend where they are trapped in bizzare visions similar to the first one.

Donnie Darko is not in the new film but there will be rabbits. Jake Gyllenhaal will not reprise his role for obvious reasons but it would be nice to see flashbacks of Gylenhaal’s character.

Filming is scheduled to begin May 18th…

http://www.screendaily.com/ScreenDailyArticle.aspx?intStoryID=38664&Category=

Well, the first “Donnie Darko” did kind of leave open a sequel, there were plenty of unanswered questions that needs some explaining for the ending of the first one.

I’d say bring on the sequel! I’m interested in seeing how they will continue this creative story. I loved the first one.
