RANT: Brock calls “Days of Our Lives” the next soap to be cancelled…

Since “Guiding Light” is the first soap opera to get the boot off the air, I call “Days of Our Lives” to be next. I haven’t been watching the show for the last couple of months. I’m no longer a fan.

Why? Simply because they’ve been getting rid of my favorite characters like Steve “Patch” Johnson, and John Black. The show fired the actors that played those two characters. The show hasn’t been the same without them. These days the show is turning into a Jerry Springer/WWE fest than anything, it’s pathetic. The show is a complete trainwreck right now. “DOOL” is overdoing the pregnancy storylines, like who fathered this baby and who does this baby belong to and all that. It’s also becoming more like “General Hospital”.

This show is no longer a Dimera crime mobster show like it once was in the past. Take this show, mix it with daytime talkshows and “Passions” all together, “DOOL” is the worst show on TV right now. Bad writing, bad acting. “DOOL” was great in the past but the show has gone downhill.

I hope this show is the next to get the boot off the air.

Report: Jay Leno has some advice for the haters…

Jay Leno admits that he gets a lot of nay sayers, aka, haters toward his “Tonight Show” that he is hosting. Jay Leno laughs off the haters, brushes them aside, and says the haters are just part of the competition.

Let me correct that to what he reallys means, the more they talk shit, the more popular you are making them.

I’ve been saying this for many years in my blogs. The haters make people popular. How do you think Miley Cyrus is one of the biggest stars around? The same goes for Paris Hilton.

That is how gossip blogger, Perez Hilton, got famous for blogging because people hated on him.

I’m sure Conan O’ Brien gets his share of haters too. Look where that got him? The haters got Conan to take over for Jay very soon. So….yeah….

Report: Pearl Jam and Will Ferrell set for “The Tonight Show” Conan O’ Brien’s debut…

On Conan O’ Brien’s debut of “The Tonight Show” on NBC which will be June 1st, two confirmed guests has been announced already. Former SNL star and comedian, Will Ferrell is set to be special guest for Conan’s first “Tonight Show” episode. The musical guest will be my very favorite band, Pearl Jam.

Since Pearl Jam just headed into the studio to record new songs, Pearl Jam will not have any new songs to perform on “The Tonight Show”. I would think Pearl Jam would perform a few songs off the album, “Ten” from the new re-issue. Pearl Jam would probably play either, “Alive”, “Jeremy”, “Black” or “Even Flow”.

The Associated Press reports:

I don’t really like Will Ferrell that much, but I’m looking forward to seeing Pearl Jam.

Pearl Jam hasn’t performed on national TV in a long long time. They’re probably just doing it for the “Ten” re-issue.

Can’t wait to see this!!!

Report: “Farrah’s Story” will just keep filming, Ryan O’ Neal says…

Beats me as to why Farrah and her family wants to make her tough times public for the whole world to see. If you think NBC should leave her family alone and let them be in private, this documentary wasn’t up to NBC. Farrah and her family wanted this entire thing to be filmed. Ryan O’ Neal went to NBC to make this happen.

As long as they don’t video tape her death on camera and air it, imagine how much controversy that would create? I don’t think they’ll video tape her death for TV, I don’t think NBC would allow something like that, anyways.

I think the reason for video taping everything is to give people a wake up call about cancer. I don’t think Farrah and her family is out there to get attention, I think they want to inspire other people with cancer  or save people from getting cancer.

Hollywood is probably waiting to do a Farrah Fawcett biopic film, they might be waiting for her death first and then they’ll make it happen. I don’t mean to sound crazy, but this is how Hollywood media works these days.

Brock watches Farrah Fawcett documentary on NBC last night…

Yep, I watched “Farrah’s Story” last night on NBC and thought it was the most saddest thing I ever seen in a long time. Farrah, the former “Charlie’s Angels” TV star, is dying of cancer.

The ending was really heartbreaking, when Ryan O’ Neal brought his jailed son in handcuffs Redmond O’ Neal to visit his dying mom. Yes, the police gave Redmond permission to get out of jail for a little while so he can go visit his mom. That one scene in the documentary was really sad. That documentary last night was all real stuff, I don’t think it was scripted so it can create drama TV. Farrah is really dying of cancer and it’s sad that she’s going to be gone soon.

Prayers go out to Farrah and her family.

Confirmed: Conan O’ Brien returns to TV May 29th on the “Tonight Show” with Jay Leno…

While Conan O’ Brien is set to take over “The Tonight Show” on June 1st, I guess, Conan is now set to return to TV a little bit early. Conan will be a guest on “The Tonight Show” on Jay’s last day as host.

More on it here and I”m sure you can find plenty of other news stories on the web about it:

Looking forward to it!

Hopefully the cancellation of “My Name Is Earl” will bring Jason Lee back to the big screen full time!!!

I used to love the show, “My Name Is Earl” but I haven’t watched it in a long while. I guess, I quickly lost interest when the show first started. Jason Lee is a really good big screen actor. Before “Earl”, Jason starred in many Kevin Smith films and plenty of other big screen pictures as well.

If “My Name Is Earl” is indeed cancelled, I hope Jason Lee decides to back to acting in film full time. His last Hollywood movie was “Alvin and the Chipmunks” live action back in 2007, and he is set to star in the sequel pretty soon. I’m sure he will get right to work on “The Chipmunks” sequel once “Earl’ cancels for good.

The question you’ll have to ask is will Jason go back to film, full time? Here’s hoping. Something is telling me that NBC will try to get Jason Lee another TV show since he made “Earl” a successful hit. “Earl” is now such a well known TV character, and NBC will probably try to create a new character for him for a new show. NBC will probably offer him a big deal to stay with the network.

I think he is a really good film actor and it would be a shame if he decides to work TV shows instead of movies. We’ll have to wait and find out to see what his decision is. I’m sure he’ll tell all of us soon.

Confirmed: “Law and Order: SVU” coming back in the Fall, but Meloni and Hargitay’s fate with the show is still in danger!!!

It is now official that “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit” has been renewed for an 11th season this fall. It is also confirmed that the show’s biggest stars Christopher Meloni and Mariska Hargitay maybe getting the boot. The reason is still the same thing, Chris and Mariska want a raise in their paychecks, Dick Wolf is not allowing it. He sounds pissed enough.

Variety Reports:

http://www.variety.com/article/VR1118002426.html?categoryid=14&cs=1

If NBC gets rid of Chris and Mariska, I will no longer watch “Law and Order: SVU”. People watch this show because of them, they carry the show. They are the reasons the show gets high ratings like I’ve been saying.

If NBC wanted to fire people to help save the budgets, they should fire Ice-T and Richard Belzer from the show. Not Chris and Mariska. Ice-T and Richard Belzer are not good actors.

I really enjoyed “Southland”, it’s better than “ER”…

I watched “Southland” this afternoon on my DVR, the premiere of the brand new primetime drama show that was aired last night. I thought it was very impressive. One of the best new shows in a very long time. I thought the acting, the story writing was all excellent. Probably the most realistic, cop and crime fiction TV show on, better than “Law & Order” series.

What’s even cooler that Hollywood film star, Tom Everett Scott had a cameo in it’s debut episode. Don’t remember who Tom Everett Scott is? He starred in such films like “An American Werewolf in Paris”, “That Thing You Do”, “Van Wilder”, and heck he was even a cast member of “ER” way back in 2003!!

Consider me a fan of “Southland”, which I will probably watch every Thursday night. I hope “Southland” will be a successful show and hope it stays on the air for a long time.
