Netflix will finally make it’s first original movie and it will be the sequel to the film, “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”…

Netflix have been doing their own original TV shows such as “House of Cards”, “Orange Is the New Black”, “Hemlock Groove” and others but it was only a matter of time that they are gonna start doing their original films. Their first original film will be a sequel to the 2000’s Ang Lee directed, “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” which is a martial arts action film.

Ang Lee will not return to direct but the film will be produced by the Weinstein Co. The plot is unknown at this time and it is also not yet known if any of the original cast such as Michelle Yeoh, Chow Yun Fat and Ziyi Zang will reprise their roles or not.

The original “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” is one of my favorite films of all time and I’m a huge fan of martial arts movies so hopefully the sequel will be good.

I hope they’ll get the original cast to reprise their roles ’cause if they don’t come back, fans of the first movie won’t be interested. I remember seeing the original in theater in 2000 when it first came out and watched it on DVD many times… I still have the original film on DVD in my movie collection. It’s a great film and it’s Ang Lee’s best directed film, in my opinion.

I bet Netflix had to get some written permission from Ang Lee for the sequel so Ang must be cool with them doing the sequel without him. “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” really is a beautiful film, though, and I would recommend it if you have never seen it before.

The new “Dr. Who” on Netflix is pretty addicting stuff!!!

I’m already halfway through the first season of the new “Dr. Who” on Netflix. I’ve just started watching the 9th Doctor with Chris Eccleston. It’s a great show. The stories are cheesy and goofy as hell but that’s what so good about them. “Dr. Who” has always been like that.

I got a lot to catch up on the new “Dr. Who” but I’ll watch as much of it as I can. You can now add “Dr. Who” to my growing list of favorite TV shows.

I don’t watch too many TV shows but some of my current favorites are: “Game of Thrones”, “Dexter”, “Breaking Bad”, “The Following” w/ Kevin Bacon, “24”, “Sons of Anarchy”, “House of Cards” and now you can add “Dr. Who” to the list.

I stopped liking the “Walking Dead”. Started liking “The Walking Dead” in the beginning but the show got lamer and lamer. No longer interested. I haven’t been watching the new Walking Dead and I probably won’t watch this year.

There are still other new TV shows I still wanna check out and I put some of them on my Netflix instant que. I still wanna check out “Derek” w/ Ricky Gervais. I still wanna get around to check out, “American Horror Story”. I also wanna check out “Hell On Wheels” and “Longmire”. “True Detective” is another one I wanna get around to checking out sometime. I also wanna check out “Criminal Minds” which is a show I never saw before and that’s on Netflix too. I also wanna get around to watching, “Orange Is The New Black” since everyone is saying good things about that show.

Too many TV shows, so little time. I can’t see them all at once. I’m a one at a time kind of guy. I usually like to finish watching one show and then move on to something else when I’m done.

Honestly, I believe “The Birdcage” is one of Robin’s best films, watched it last night!!!

I don’t think I ever really saw the film, “The Birdcage” until last night. I was a little nervous watching it ’cause it’s a movie about a gay couple owning a nightclub. Even though the movie had gay material in the film, I thought the movie was entertaining as hell and very good! It’s honestly one of Robin’s best films too. Pretty high up there.

The movie was funny as hell and I couldn’t help myself but burst out laughing at a few scenes.

At first, I was a little worried that the movie was made for liberals but surprisingly enough, there are plenty of conservative politics in the film too ’cause of Gene Hackman who plays a conservative Senator. The movie is actually for liberals and conservatives. Something for everybody.

I thought it was surprisingly a great film. The film was well-written and well acted by everyone in the cast.

If you haven’t seen “The Birdcage”, I’d recommend it to you as well.

Yeah, I’m trying to have a Robin Williams movie marathon this week as you can see.  A shame I don’t have a lot of his movies on DVD. I hope Netflix will add many more of Robin’s movies for streaming soon.

He really was one of the best in the movie business. I respected him for a long time.

The Office (UK version)

Over the week, I spent some time watching, “The Office”, the UK version with Ricky Gervais. I finished watching both seasons and I’m really liking the show a lot. It’s definitely way better than the US version with Steve Carell. It’s too bad that the UK version of “The Office” only lasted for two seasons. It could have gone on longer but it was cancelled due to low ratings.

I have been a big fan of Ricky Gervais for a long while now and I finally got around to checking out his version of “The Office” which was great stuff. The UK version of “The Office” was funnier as hell. I couldn’t stop laughing at some parts.

I still need to watch the last two of the Christmas specials of “The Office” which I will watch later today. I really like the show and once again, wish it could have gone on longer. Ricky Gervais is a talented and funny man, I’ve liked him for a long time.

I’m gonna have to check out his new show for Netflix called, “Derek” pretty soon.

Watched the film “Capote” last night…

Last night on Netflix, I watched the film “Capote” for the first time ever. I’ve seen most of Phillip Seymour Hoffman’s films but this one I’ve never seen.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0379725/

It’s based on the real life story of Truman Capote writing a book about the murder of a Kansas family. I was pretty much blown away with the film and it was incredible. Powerful flick. This movie makes me want to read the book, “In Cold Blood” and I probably will.

No matter what you think of Phillip’s drug problems, he was an extremely talented actor. The guy could play anything.

This is a great film if you’re looking for something to watch on Netflix.

Rocky I-V are now available for Netflix streaming…

I already have all the Rocky movies on DVD and I also have the first Rocky film on BluRay but it is cool that these movies are finally on Netflix. For some reason Netflix neglected “Rocky Balboa” (Rocky 6) but maybe they’ll get that on there sometime in the future.

I love all the Rocky movies. Yes, I even think “Rocky V” was a great flick even though Sly himself admitted it was a horrible film.

While I am a huge fan of Sylvester Stallone and still am… “Rocky” was the beginning for me. That was how I got into Sly’s movies ’cause of Rocky and Rambo. Hopefully, Netflix will make the Rambo movies streamable too.

I’m definitely looking forward to seeing, “Expendables 3” later this year, though.

Why “House of Cards” is so great…

Last night, I finished the final two episodes of “House of Cards – Season 2” and here is a brief review without any spoilers.

The reason why this show is so great is for a lot of reasons. Good acting, good writing, and most importantly — it’s the show’s unpredictability that keeps us watching. This is another one of those shows who don’t care what the viewers think — they’re gonna upset you. Lets say if you like a character and he/she could get killed off anytime, unexpectedly. Plus, this show has the coolest music theme for the opening intro.

Another reason people kept watching is Frank Underwood. He maybe a pretty shady and powerful politician much like Obama but Frank Underwood is pretty like-able. The show is mostly about government corruption. A lot of the things that goes on in this show is pretty similar to what happens in politics in real life, that’s probably another reason this show is addicting. The acting of the cast is very well-done. While Kevin Spacey kills it… everyone else does a great job too like Kate Mara, Robin Wright, Michael Kelly (who plays Doug Stamper), etc.

This season had a few shockers. Usually in TV drama shows, they usually save the big shockers for the end of the season but with this show, the big shockers can happen at anytime. It didn’t matter if it was in the beginning of the show, the middle or the end… something big is gonna happen. Season 2 have more character development… you get to know more about each character this season than the last season. “Season 2” was very very good, better than Season 1. I’m sure “Season 3” will be even better and already looking forward to “Season 3”.

I can see this show being around for a long while… hopefully it’ll last for about 7 – 8 seasons, maybe more.

I always knew that Kevin Spacey is a great actor. I’ve been watching him in movies for years and I think this is his best role.

If you haven’t started this show yet, I suggest you get on it, right now. You would see why President Obama likes it so much.

When does watching a lot of Netflix become binge worthy???

Binge watching TV shows is nothing new. Binge watching TV shows have been around for years even before Netflix. Before Netflix, binge watching TV shows used to be done through DVD sets. Before DVD, binge watching TV shows was done through marathons on TV.

The “House of Cards” TV show is bringing up the topic of binge watching online. Why? Simply because “House of Cards” is binge watchable and addicting as hell.

Check out this interesting article/blog on “binge watching”, here.

I’ll have to confess that I’m pretty guilty of binge watching on Netflix. I binged watch quite a bit of shows on Netflix: “Lost”, “24”, “Sons of Anarchy”, the original “Star Trek”, “Star Trek: The Next Generation” and I’m currently watching, “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine”. I had to take a break from “Star Trek: DS9” so I can watch the new season of “House of Cards”.

I’ve also binged watched shows on DVD like “Game of Thrones” and “Dexter”.

I would usually watch 3 to 4 episodes a night… sometimes a lot more depending on how addicting the show gets.

I hate cable TV. I don’t watch much cable TV much anymore… I just use Netflix as a good substitute ’cause Netflix is way better than TV. There are only a few shows I like to watch on cable TV.

It’s interesting how addicting Netflix really is. Why is it addicting? It’s because you can watch anything of your choosing at any time you want. Plus, there are all kinds of cool stuff to watch on Netflix. All kinds of great TV shows, movies, documentaries, indie films, crappy b-movies, etc.

I’ve been watching Netflix more than playing video games on the PS3 admittedly.

Yeah, I should cut down on the binge watching and should focus on guitar playing (which I have been doing a lot of that too) but should we feel guilty of “binge” watching? No. Not at all. Like they all say, you can only live once… just once… so live your life the best as possible and the way you want to. Watch all the good stuff before you die. Nothing wrong with it.

Watching TV shows, movies, and playing video games maybe a lazy way to live life, sure but it helps you think and gets your mind off everything else in life. You’re alone and that’s all matters. Good way to relax and focus.

I’m NOT 100% lazy, though, like some accuse me of. I do get out of the house often. I do get my exercise on like go to the gym and do cardio so I’m all good.

Can’t wait for “House of Cards – Season 2”!!!

I like most holidays but Valentine’s Day is my least favorite holiday like most singles. For once, I look forward to Valentine’s Day ’cause that’s the day when “House of Cards – Season 2” will arrive on Netflix. So on that day, Feb. 14th, I’ll be watching “House of Cards”.

It really is a great show, guys. If you haven’t seen it yet, watch Season 1 before Season 2, though. Frank Underwood is a badass. “House of Cards” was Netflix’s first original TV show and already it’s a big hit. As soon as I saw the first episode, I was immediately hooked like everyone else. It’s an addicting show. I’m sure Season 2 will be just as great.

This is one of the best shows on television for sure other than “Breaking Bad”, “Sons of Anarchy”, and “Dexter”. I don’t watch a lot of cable TV. There’s only a few shows that I like to watch. You really should check out, “House of Cards”. Awesome show. Good cast, good writing and just entertaining as hell!

Ready for the return of Frank Underwood??? “House of Cards – Season 2” set for release on Valentine’s Day…

I’m pretty stoked for Season 2 of Netflix’s “House of Cards”. When season 1 arrived on Netflix, I was immediately addicted to the show. The show is so good. It maybe a politically driven show but the writing is perfect and the cast is awesome. Lets hope Season 2 won’t disappoint. I’m sure it won’t. Season 2 will arrive on Netflix Feb. 14th, 2014 which is Valentine’s Day. Can’t freakin’ wait!!! It’s about time that they gave us an announcement.

See the teaser video, here.
