Report: “Beetlejuice” sequel in the works soon? Geena Davis kind of hints at it…

Rumours of a “Beetlejuice” sequel is just starting to hit the web. Geena Davis, who stars in “Beetlejuice” along with Michael Keaton, Alec Baldwin and Winona Ryder says she’s definitely down for starring in it if the sequel is greenlighted. Michael Keaton himself says he’s definitely game for starring in the sequel. Geena, plans to get in touch with Tim Burton to see if she can try and talk him into wanting to do the sequel to this movie.

I too am a huge fan of “Beetlejuice” film. I think it’s Keaton’s best role over Batman, in my opinion. It would be awesome if Keaton would reprise the role again. Michael Keaton needs to return to the mainstream of movies, because he hasn’t done a huge mainstream flick since ’98’s “Jack Frost”. Everything else he did after that were flops.

People would think Michael Keaton would be too old to be playing “Beetlejuice” again, but with today’s technology of Hollywood make-up, think how much better the Beetlejuice character would look like now than back in the 90’s. Plus it would be awesome if the original cast came back, including Alec Baldwin, Winona Ryder, and Jeffrey Jones. Used to watch “Beetlejuice” obsessively when I was a kid. Such an awesome movie.

Film Review: Alice in Wonderland

Starring: Mia Wasikowska, Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter,  Crispin Glover, Anne Hathaway

Directed by: Tim Burton

I know I’m a few days late on this review, but earlier this week, which was last Tuesday, I did go see the movie, Tim Burton’s “Alice In Wonderland”. Before that I went to Best Buy and picked up the new “God of War III” video game. I’m not going to start “God of War III” right away ’cause I need to finish the first two games first. I’m still at the end of “God of War I”.

Now lets get on with the review:

Plot/Synopsis: Tim Burton decided to do his take on the famous Lewis Carroll novel, “Alice’s Adventure in Wonderland”, which is a famous children’s novel that I loved ever since I was a kid. The plot and story is pretty much the same idea, but Tim Burton’s version is just a little bit different than so many other versions of “Alice” we’ve seen over the years. Yep, same thing, Alice discovers another world where the White Rabbit takes her and she meets all these strange characters such as the Caterpillar, Chesire the Cat, The Mad Hatter, etc. Except the only difference, that Alice doesn’t dress up in armor, and getting a sword to actually fight the Jabberwocky in the novel, but I can understand why Burton threw that in there ’cause I guess he wanted to match the idea with the poem that was written about the Jabberwocky, that was actually taken from the novel. This isn’t really a spoiler since the trailers already showed Alice in armor with a sword.

I’ll be honest, that I usually hate Johnny Depp and Tim Burton collaborations. Don’t get me wrong, I love both of these guys, but when they work together on a film, I have no interest. Their work is so overrated and too mainstream, that I get sick of these guys working together all the time. I never really wanted to see this version of “Alice In Wonderland”, but I was kind of talked into seeing it…but since I’m a huge fan of the Lewis Carroll novel which is a book that I love, I decided what the hell, I’ll go see it to see if I like it or not.

A lot of people were shitting on this movie. Saying how bad it was, giving the movie mixed reviews. Not many people I’ve seen online giving it positive reviews. When I went and saw it, you wonder what my thoughts are?

Well, here’s the answer…..scroll down a bit…

I FUCKING LOVED IT!!! 🙂 Really, I was that surprised by the film. Were the negative critics watching the same movie? I thought the film was fucking brilliant! It’s exactly what a live action “Alice” movie should be! Tim Burton really did his homework to make the movie right. He must of studied the novel and seen all the earlier remakes. Burton didn’t want to fuck around and make the right version of “Alice”. This is probably the best version. The Visuals were just perfect. The way it was supposed to be from the novel. The humor is there as the book had a lot of humor in it. It had a lot of dark themes and adventure in the film just like the novel. The acting wasn’t that bad, but I thought the writing of the script was well written. Special effects and cinematography is what the film needed to get the look in  your head of what the novel is supposed to be like.

I thought Crispin Glover was a badass as the Knave of Hearts, he was my favorite character from the film. I guess Johnny Depp was the right fit for the Mad Hatter. Helena Bonham Carter did great voicing the Red Queen as she sounded evil and it made you want to hate her every time you saw her on screen.

It was a very entertaining film. Definitely thumbs up for this one.

Score for “Alice in Wonderland” = **** (4 stars as in “excellent”)

Report: Tim Burton to do a movie about the Maleficent villain from Disney’s, “Sleeping Beauty”…

Word going around the internets, that Tim Burton has confirmed he’s doing another Disney remake by doing a spinoff from “Sleeping Beauty”. He will be doing a film about the famous, “Maleficent” character from the film.

http://www.aintitcool.com/node/43678

If it’s true, then who will play Maleficent? I would think, no one other than Tim Burton’s wife, Helena Bonham Carter. Helena’s face is similar to Maleficent, so maybe he’s doing this movie to give his wife an opportunity to get the leading role?

And maybe Johnny Depp will do the voice overs for that bird. You know Depp will be involved with the film somehow.

Thought: How Tim Burton would be a perfect director for “Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn”…

Why would Tim Burton be a perfect choice of director for “Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn”? It’s very simple. His dark vision of his other films matches the same style as the Twilight series. Just watch films like “Edward Scissorhands”, “Sweeney Todd”, “Sleepy Hollow”, etc. They all have a similar vision to “Twilight”.

Not only that, Tim Burton also has a very huge dedicated following of young fans from tweens to young adults who follow Tim Burton’s movies. Tim Burton also has many full-grown adult fans as well.

If Tim Burton directs, “Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn”, he could bring all fans together which will be a film for all ages to enjoy. Imagine Tim Burton giving a cameo for Helena Bonham Carter his wife for “Breaking Dawn”, maybe even give Johnny Depp a small role as well.

I hope Summit Entertainment studios does the right thing and sign Tim Burton to direct the final installment. I’m positive Tim would make a very good Twilight movie and he would probably do the best job at it. It would be a mistake if Summit doesn’t get him.

Report: Tim Burton to direct “Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn”? I’d say bring him on!

It seems that Tim Burton loves the idea of directing the final Twilight movie, “Breaking Dawn”, the fourth of the series. Burton didn’t say if he will or not, but he seemed to love the idea and he is flattered by it.

See more at MTV News:

I always thought Burton would be a more appropriate choice of a director for these movies. He should have directed the first one. In fact, he should be directing all of them!!! Why didn’t Summitt Entertainment think of him in the first place? I hope Burton gets the opportunity.

I look forward to seeing, “New Moon” and will see it, this weekend.

Report: Tim Burton to work on “Dark Shadows” after he completes, “Alice In Wonderland”…

Tim Burton announced, he will get right to work on, “Dark Shadows” with Johnny Depp, after he completes, “Alice In Wonderland”. Johnny Depp is still set to play Barnabas Collins in “Dark Shadows”, the iconic vampire from the TV series. “Dark Shadows” was a low budget vampire soap opera that aired on TV back in the 70’s/80’s.

I’m a big “Dark Shadows” fan, so hopefully Burton/Depp will do a good job which I’m sure they will.

Damn you, Disney!

Disney took down all the Alice In Wonderland trailers on almost every video website on the net! They must be pissed at IGN when they uploaded early! I hope IGN doesn’t get sued by Disney for this ’cause it could happen.

“Alice In Wonderland” looks really fantastic though, I think it could be the best Tim Burton/Johnny Depp collaboration ever made.

At least we got a chance to see the trailer before Disney took it down though. I’m sure Disney will release the trailer on their own under their own rights.

Walt Disney does own the copyrights to the “Alice In Wonderland” story as they had that story for years…so it’s their right to do this.

Report: Crispin Glover to play the Knave of Hearts in Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland”…

Actor Crispin Glover has officially joined the cast of Tim Burton’s “Alice In Wonderland” to star alongside Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, etc. Crispin Glover will play the Knave of Hearts.

While Crispin is not the most well known actor, the roles that made the man famous were George McFly in “Back To the Future” and the horror film “Willard”.
