Report: Stevie Nicks says computers and cell phones has destroyed the social life of people…and I agree with her…

Fleetwood Mac’s front woman, Stevie Nicks, finally opens up on why she never uses a computer or a cell phone to keep in touch with people.

Check it out here:

I agree with her totally. Before anyone calls her delusional and she shouldn’t be bashing the internet, you have to stop and think, and admit that she is 100% right.

Before the internet came around when I was a kid, there were TV, movies, video games, listening to music or better, doing outdoors activities. When the internet came around, that pretty much destroyed all that. Everyone became so addicted to the internet, even myself when it first came around.

I’m doing my very best to kick my internet addiction habit, by doing other things ’cause you notice that my blog slows down with posts more often. I’m hoping getting into exercise and fitness will help get me away from the computer more often as well.

It’s sad that the internet has taken over the world. These days that’s all certain people out there really do, they sit at the computer, 24/7, some people think the internet is their life.

And about using cell phones, black berry’s and all that technical shit, I don’t have any of that. I know cell phones are popular, and everyone I see has one, but I think I’m one of the very few that don’t. I actually despise cell phones and don’t ever plan on buying one. I would want my privacy, don’t you? Doesn’t it get annoying to having the phone ring on ya everywhere you go? Doesn’t it get annoying that when you’re talking to someone in person out in public and then the cell phone rings? If you’re bothered by all that, then why have one?

Some people may think cell phones may come in handy, but in my opinion, they are a fuckin’ waste of time. If I wanted to talk on the phone, I would use a regular home phone, not a cell phone. If people wanted to talk to me, leave me messages on the home phone, not send me messages everywhere I go.

This is why I don’t own a cell phone and don’t plan on getting one ever. I don’t even like it when other people own one ’cause it annoys me when some musical ringtone goes off and yep, it’s the cell phone ringing.

I kind of miss the old days when there were no cell phones and no internet.

Thought: Why are people obsessed with wanting to get fit?

Men and women all over the world wanting to get fit, ripped, and buffed on their bodies are on the rise these days. Fitness has become more popular and mainstream than ever.

Why are people obsessed with it? I can think of ten reasons:

  1. People want to feel more confident and look better when they’re half naked in public.
  2. Hot sex with their lovers.
  3. They want to feel attracted by other people.
  4. They want to join some type of fighting sport like boxing, martial arts or wrestling.
  5. They want to join the Army, Navy, Marines, etc.
  6. They do it for their own ego, in other words, they just want more attention.
  7. They do it to feel more happier and energetic, it’s a good way to get rid of stress and depression.
  8. They want to live a long and healthy life.
  9. They want to join a non fighting sport like baseball, football, hockey, golf, etc.
  10. They enjoy it and are addicted to it.

I guess everyone has their own reasons they do it, but I believe these 10 reasons are the most popular. I am no health and fitness expert just yet, but am learning and getting into it. I’ll put up a new topic section about it.

Cool Video: Funny UFC videoblog…

New UFC videoblog. I love watching these things. Behind the scenes stuff of UFC. In that one videoblog with Dana White ranting about Loretta Hunt, Dana may seem like a guy with a short temper but in reality, he seems like a good dude. Dana seems like he’s happy all the time, always smiling and stuff, except for that one video about Loretta Hunt, was  the only time I’ve seen him out of character.

This video gives you a preview of the new UFC video game and Dana is playing the video game himself. This is a cool videoblog with lots of laughs and humor.

Check it out.

This is no longer a local music blog…

Over the years, I like to use my blogs to rant about the local music scene. I’ve been thinking about this for a while now, that I don’t think I’m going to do it anymore. From this point on, I’m going to use this blog for national news and to plug in my own music only. I’m probably going to start removing all Local music posts soon. I’m done with the kiddie games, done with the immaturity around this area, and done with wannabe profesionals which they are really amatuers.

Plus, the main reason, is that I don’t go out to local shows and don’t really support other bands that I don’t see any point in blogging about local music anymore. The area of local music still have some good bands and solo artists that I like around here, don’t get me wrong…this area needs to be more profesional and more adult acting but of course, it’s never going to change. It will always be the same. Stop wasting too much time in myspace bands and concentrate on the music. Of course, you’re never going to do that.

It’s been fun blogging about local music, but since I retired from playing live shows in the music scene, retiring from blogging about local music needs to go along with it. I just realized that. Also many people around the world that read my blog won’t even understand what I’m talking about in local music since they don’t live here, that’s another reason.

I will concentrate on blogging about movies, national music, and other forms of entertainment news. My goal with “Brock N’ Roll Entertainment” is to hopefully grab the attention of the entertainment industry on my blog and that’s slowly starting to happen since UMG wrote to me asking me to promote a famous band.

It’s not about the fame with my blog, I don’t care about that, this is just a hobby, but I’m just like everyone else, promoting things to the masses and marketing as much as possible. I plan to have a domain name with this blog very soon, I’m just trying to shop for an affordable price for a domain name for this site.

Thanks and keep on reading. Comments closed in this entry ’cause I just wanted to point this out.

EDIT To add: There, all local music and anything with NY Local news are off, it only took me a few quick minutes to delete a lot of those posts. I love wordpress! This blog is staying up of course, I’m just going to concentrate on blogging about national entertainment news from this point on.

Btw, the Joe Montepare Jr. – RIP post is moved to the celebrity/musician deaths section. I wanted to keep that one up.

Thought: Celebrities that go on tirades… it don’t kill their careers…it makes them more powerful…

I’ve said I was going to have a post about this soon. Well here it is, folks. Celebrities going off on angry tirades in the media that creates controversy. Many people think that famous people that go angry with full of swearing, go off on racist rants or says offensive stuff about children…is a career destroyer. The public thinks that celebrities taking the high road is on their way to ending their careers. Just like that.

I’ve said it before, you must look at reality that when celebrities do this, it doesn’t kill their careers at all, it does nothing but makes their careers better.

Think about this…..

When Donald Trump went off on Rosie O’ Donnell last year, that didn’t kill his fame and fortune. What did it do? It just inspired the WWE to start a feud with Donald Trump so The Donald and Vince McMahon can have some kind of match at Wrestlemania to help promote, The Apprentice. Now the Apprentice is the biggest show on television.

When the Dog Duane Chapman, used racial slurs…he got negative public backlash for a while, but guess what folks…he got his TV show back and now he’s one of the most well known people in the media.

Don Imus…when he got busted for using “Nappy Headed Ho’s”, look where that got him? He’s back on radio now.

Alec Baldwin goes off on tirade in taped phone conversation yelling at his daughter…guess what, did that kill his acting career? Nope. He’s now the biggest star ever on “30 Rock'” on NBC!!!

Michael Richards, the Seinfeld guy…gone racist after being heckled at a comedy show…did that kill his career as a comedian/actor? Nope, he’s doing animated voice overs for animated films lately.

Jack Nicholson is the king of tirades, his most famous one is back in 1994 when he went golfing with friends when he went on a rage, took his golf clubs and smashed a guy’s windshield on his car. Plus, his latest tirade is when TMZ posted a recent video of Jack standing in the street waiting for his ride and he’s going mad at a fan wanting an autograph, everybody still loves Jack for this.

Mel Gibson…going off on a Jews rant when he got pulled over for DUI. Did that kill his career? Nope. He’s back starring the leading roles in movies now.

Tom Cruise jumping the couch and going off on a Scientology rant in his weird video…he may have gotten banned from filming movies in Paramount, but that’s still not stopping Cruise for “Valkyrie” being a successful movie in the box office and getting a Golden Globe nomination for his character in Tropic Thunder”!!!!

Bill O’ Reilly…is also the king of tirades…but the O’ Reilly Factor TV and Radioshows are both still a hit!!!

Howard Stern…is also the king of tirades…he was fired from regular FM radio and now on Sirius Sattelite, Stern is stronger than ever!

—————————————————-

There, you get the idea.

With Dana White’s video rant about Loretta Hunt, do you think that’s going to lose his job? If you think about it, I don’t think it will. It’ll make UFC more popular and will his video rant help UFC 97 with high ppv buyrates? Absolutely!

Jamie Foxx’s rant on Miley Cyrus, will that help make his next movie “The Soloist” a world record breaking movie for box office opening weekend? Absolutely!

Billy Bob Thornton’s controversial interview with the Boxmasters on QTV…could that interview make the next Boxmasters album the no. 1 record in the Billboard 200? Absolutely!

Could Christian Bale’s tirade make “Terminator Salvation” and “Public Enemies” huge films in the box office? Yes, yes, yes!

That’s the reason these celebrities do these things. They know the media is watching every move they do and this is how they promote their upcoming projects.
