I'm a musician, singer/songwriter, blogger, writer, poet, bodybuilder, movie lover, music lover, video gamer, history/political buff, conservative/republican, etc. I like to do a lot of things.

Thought: When people criticize my own music…

When people criticize my own music, like when some folks say that I suck or have no talent, I think they need to be detailed and be said with class without such immature attacks. When I reviewed the two local bands posted a few posts down, I never personally attacked them once, just kindly gave my honest criticism, it may be negative criticism but at least I did it in a friendly way.

Mostly when people try to criticize my own music, they do it just to try and upset me or they’ll start to be more open about my music after I start criticizing other bands. It’s like a “you do this to me, I’ll do this back to you” kiddie type of thang. You don’t have to start bashing my music just to show me how it feels. You either like it or you don’t. I know my tunes aren’t for everyone but I still appreciate people listening even if they hate it or like it. It’s all good.

The truth is, people can send me all kinds of nasty and harsh critics toward my music all they want to. I am never upset or pissed off about it!!! It’s the truth! As a matter of fact, I am actually flattered that it gets talked about whether it’s bad or good feedback.

I have been playing shows in the Capital District for a little over a year, I played a good number of 35 shows in one year, not bad for an acousticc guy who had played almost every venue at a short time!

Why have I not been gigging much? I said before I’m on a hiatus. I’m working a full time day job that is kind of keeping me away from music but I still do play guitar and write when I come home from work at times. I’m soon going to be a college man this fall, and that will probably take me away from music also but going back to school will give me more time to write new songs though.

I write music for me. It’s something I love doing and it what makes me happy. Hopefully soon I’ll start writing new songs again so I can get a new demo album in the works. Then I’ll hopefully start playing a slew of gigs again.

Sure, I can be a little crazy and be a little negative or be a jerk at times, but so what? I am being myself and being who I am. Besides, who isn’t negative or a jerk at times? Everyone is once in a while, it is life. It’s just that nobody has the right to come on here and badily judge my personality. I have friends and supportive people around me and they aren’t going to agree with some of the nasty things some negative people say about me out there. I only take advice and trust the people that I know well, not from the people I don’t know well.

I barely ever use my blog to talk about myself much anymore but to go for something different for once other than entertainment news, I wanted to say all this to get it off my chest.

Report: Freddie Prinze Jr. actor now turned WWE writer…

An icon hollywood actor has been hired by the WWE to be part of the company’s creative team with storylines to contribute with WWE’s weekly RAW/ECW/Smackdown and the monthly PPV’s. The WWE company seems to be impressed with his work and creativity. Even Vince McMahon likes him too.

Freddy Prinze Jr. can be seen in movies such as “I Know What You Did Last Summer” horror film and the two Scooby Doo sequels.

The Hollywood Reporter reports:

Since he is an actor himself, I have a feeling Freddie will write himself into storylines and we’ll get a celebrity actor performing on TV. Freddie feuding against John Cena or heck even Vince McMahon?

Give it more time, we’ll end up seeing Freddie on WWE TV soon.

Whose Side Are You On: The Black Crowes vs. Gretchen Wilson…

First the Black Crowes whine about Maxim’s review of their new album, now they are whining about country star Gretchen Wilson. The band is accusing Gretchen Wilson of exploiting her own song “Work Hard, Play Harder” she wrote for the TV show “Saving Grace” and the band is claiming it is sounding pretty close to their 1991 hit “Jealous Again”.

The band didn’t threaten to sue her, they just sent her copyright infringement notices, as in a warning type of thing.

Billboard reports:

http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003833560

So I post both songs in videos below so you can be the judgement if they sound the same.

I’m sorry, but Gretchen wins this one, so I’m with her on this all the way. Her song sounds nothing like “Jealous Again” if you listen carefully and closely to both songs. Gretchen sings it much differently.

It’s her song, her copyright, she’s perfectly safe 100%. Watch the judge drop this when they battle it out in court. I think the Crowes are “Jealous” of Gretchen because she is a bigger star than the Crowes are, and the Black Crowes new album “Warpaint” bombed and didn’t sell any copies.

BREAKING NEWS: Cheech and Chong bury the hatchet and confirmed to tour again!!!

After more than 25 years of not getting along and feuding, Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong, buries the hatchet and ready to tour again with live comedy shows. They tried to reunite before but it failed because the two were always fighting all the time. They finally came to a realization that life is too short to hold negative grudges that they want to do something good before they get any older.

Cheech and Chong are legendary stand up comedians who mostly sang songs about drug use and other obscene adult humor. The two has also made plenty of comedy films such as “Up In Smoke”, “Cheech and Chong’s Next Movie”, “Nice Dreams”, “It Came From Hollywood”, “The Corsican Brothers” “Still Smokin'”, and others.

Awesome! Cheech and Chong rules!

What do you say? One more “Cheech and Chong” comedy film for the big screen? I’d say Hollywood should go for it! 🙂

Report: Amy Winehouse out for “Quantum Of Solace” theme song, Alicia Keys and Jack White in…

Since Amy Winehouse and Mark Ronson pulled out of writing the opening title sequence for the theme song of 007 “Quantum Of Solace”, musicians Alicia Keys and Jack White has signed a deal to collaborate on writing the theme song together.

The song is titled “Another Way to Die”, Jack wrote the song and produced it himself, will also record drums for it. Alicia will probably play piano and just sing the lead vocals.

The new highly anticipated James Bond flick “Quantum of Solace” hits theaters everywhere Nov. 7th.

Billboard reports:

Great choice for the Bond theme. I like Jack White and I like Alicia Keys too believe it or not. While I hate today’s pop music, I actually do like a very few pop singers. The pop singers I do enjoy listening to are Alicia Keys, Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, Amy Winehouse and Kanye West.

But on top of that, I’m really looking forward to the new James Bond flick coming out, I will see that one too.

Report: Marvin The Martian gets his own movie for the big screen!

Marvin the Martian the popular Warner Bros. Looney Tunes character is making his way to the big screen. This is the only character from the Looney Tunes cartoons getting his own film although I have a feeling Bugs Bunny will appear to give excitement for the kids. The project will blend live action and CGI.

Marvin was created by cartoonist Chuck Jones and also made an appearrance in Michael Jordan’s film “Spacejam” that also starred Looney Tune characters which Jordan plays basketball against.

The story focuses on Marvin The Martian film will be a Christmas film, he comes to Earth to try and destroy Christmas but his plans foils after being trapped in a gift box (my guess Bugs Bunny put him in there). No casting, no director and no writers has been signed for this project yet.

Variety Reports:

While I’m glad Marvin is getting his own movie, couldn’t they come up with a better story? It’s seems like a remake of “How the Grinch Stole Christmas”.
