This week I’m taking a full week off of exercising and bodybuilding. It’s not that I’m losing interest in it, I’ll never give it up, it’s just that you need to take a break once in a while. I haven’t had a break since the last one around Christmas time. You won’t lose muscle in a week with no exercise, it’s actually good. You need the plenty of resting, so they can heal and grow. So taking week breaks is good sometimes. Plus your body needs to recharge and restart again. Don’t want to over do yourself. Some bodybuilders workout all year long non stop with no breaks at all, not good in my opinion. Pretty dangerous and you’ll kill yourself working out all year with no breaks.
Later this week, I’m planning to go to the mall to check out the movie, “Act of Valor”, the Navy Seals war movie. Looks pretty good. I’m probably gonna check it out on Thursday.
I’ll try to get the Johnny Cash “Hurt” cover up today. On Johnny’s date of death in Sept., I’ll do a bunch more Cash covers. Kurt Cobain’s date of death is coming up soon, so I’ll want to cover a few Nirvana songs for youtube.
Why am I doing all these cover songs for youtube? Am I going to start my own cover band down the road? Maybe I’d like to. If I were to get a band, we’d do a mix of both covers and originals. Plus, doing covers is fun. I just want to perform all my favorite songs that meant a lot to me over the years. Prove people I can be a good musician.

If Rick wins Michigan tomorrow, which he probably will, then this is bad news for Romney.
Thing is, people seem to be upset over Rick’s thoughts on JFK’s Houston Ministers speech in 1960. After all this, it got me to read the JFK Houston Ministers speech and do some reading about the, “Separation of Church and State”, which Rick is talking about. Rick doesn’t agree with the “Separation of Church and State”, Kennedy is in favor of it. While the “Separation of Church and State” is no where in the Constitution, but the 1st Amendment says, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”
All Rick is saying that he wants to bring people of “faith” and “non-faith” together. Kennedy wanted to separate them. That’s all Rick is trying to say I believe.
I don’t get into this whole religion thing ’cause religion is not part of my life anymore, but I get what he was saying. What Rick said may have been kind of harsh, but he has the right to be honest about it.
The “vomit” part, he just wanted to bring it to people’s attention. I think he did a good job getting people to talk about JFK’s speech, no matter what people thought of his opinion about it.
This is why I like Rick. He’s not afraid to say things, even though it’ll piss a lot of people off. That’s makes him confident. I like those kind of people that are open minded and honest, no matter the consequences.
Looking forward to the primary results tomorrow night.

The Oscars gave all three of the LOTR a nod at the nominations, but “Return of the King”, actually won Best Picture that year. Harry Potter? Nothing.
Well, Harry Potter may have gotten small nominations over the years like best editing, sounds effects, makeup, etc. but Harry Potter franchise, never got any major nominations. Now that the Harry Potter franchise is all done and over with, there is no chance for Oscars. No chance for “Best Picture”, “Director”, “Actor/Actress”, etc.
While I do love all the Harry Potter films, none of them are best picture worthy. They could have been if they were written better and directed better. There are actually a few actors in the Harry Potter series that I wish could have gotten a nod like Richard Harris who played Dumbledore, and Alan Rickman who played Professor Snape should have gotten something too. I also thought Ralph Fiennes did a great job playing Voldermort.
I do agree that Harry Potter was snubbed a lot though. Sad, but that’s the way it is. It’s Hollywood.

I know last night’s Oscars are going to be questionable for some. Some people are going to think what the hell were they thinking, giving a movie with no talking, the most credit last night. The problem with that is, most young people of this generation, don’t understand what, “silent film” is. I never even heard of that film, “The Artist”, until last night. Never saw the trailers before. Since the movie was getting the most recognition last night, I had to look it up online for myself, and to me, “The Artist”, looks like a very interesting movie. I’m probably going to check the movie out when it arrives on DVD.
I love silent film. That is how movies and Hollywood all started back in the 1920’s – 30’s. Silent film was the beginning of movies. The makers behind, “The Artist”, just simply wanted to give the genre a comeback to the movie industry. If you call yourself a movie buff, and don’t understand silent film, then you’re not a true movie buff. Like I said, I love silent film. Silent movies like the original “Phantom of the Opera”, “Metropolis”, “Nosferatu”, etc. Ever hear of Charlie Chaplin? He was a legendary silent film actor, back in the day! Silent film deserves to comeback to the movies. After, “The Artist”, you can expect more silent movies to be made in the future.
As far as the rest of the Oscars go, it was okay. Billy Crystal’s opening segment, was kind of boring and not funny. He started off parodying other Hollywood movies in the opening segment, and then he came out on stage doing his usual song & dance thing, every time he hosted. I thought Billy was kind of boring, and it made me wish Eddie Murphy was hosting it last night instead of him. Eddie, I’m sure would have made the show more entertaining.
The movie, “Hugo” started to get the most awards last night. I haven’t even seen, “Hugo”, yet, but I want to. I love Martin Scorsese’s work and I’ll wait to see that film when it arrives on DVD.
Most of the Oscar winners were disappointing last night, to be honest with you. There were only a few that I agreed with. I’m happy for Octavia Spencer that she won for Best Supporting Actress for the movie, “The Help”, which is well deserved. Octavia actually got an emotional standing ovation from the crowd, and she deserved that as well. She was obviously, the best thing about that movie.
I’m glad that Meryl Streep finally won an award. Even though she holds the most record breaking nominations, she hasn’t won an award since “Sophie’s Choice” in 1982. So if you think she’s won a lot of awards, not true. She may have been nominated a lot, but out of all the nominations, so far, she won about 3 or 4 awards, I think. She’s an amazing actress who can play just about anything.
I am actually glad they didn’t give the “Best Actress”, award to Michelle Williams, ’cause “My Week With Marilyn”, looks like a terrible movie, in my opinion. Michelle doesn’t make a good portrayal of Marilyn at all, because Michelle looks nothing like Marilyn.
While Christopher Plummer is a great actor, I was disappointed with his win. Nick Nolte, got robbed for “Best Actor” for “Warrior”, he really should ‘ve gotten it.
As for the red carpet intro before the show, Sacha Baron Cohen was The Dictator was there but he had a couple of women with him. He was interviewed by Ryan Seacrest for the E! channel and I heard that Sacha dumped ashes all over Ryan. Of course, I find that fake, kind of a work. This Sacha vs. The Oscars feud, is kind of like a wrestling storyline. Kind of like what Andy Kauffman did back in the old days. Sacha wasn’t really banned from the Oscars, and proof of that, he showed up in the celebrity interviews during the Oscar show itself. I’m sure Sacha was there in the audience somewhere out of character watching the show, but he had to be there anonymously, so this publicity stunt won’t get ruined. This stunt is entertaining though and it’s good publicity for the film, “The Dictator”, that’s why they’re doing it. It is their way of marketing the movie.
Last night’s Oscars was okay. It should have been a little better.

I was going to do it tonight, but I didn’t feel like doing all that work. It takes a few hours to finish one video. Takes a long time. I’m thinking this week will be Johnny Cash tribute week in honor of his 80th birthday. I’ll probably do a few more Cash covers for my youtube page.

I really think before slamming a politician, they should research and learn before they miscomprehend his religion and politics. What he said about the JFK Houston Ministers speech in 1960, his opinions on the separation of church and state. I would sit here and write a long blog post defending what he said, but I don’t feel like it right now. The Oscars are on tonight. I’ll write the blog post tomorrow.
Seriously, the Santorum haters piss me off sometimes. They just hate, hate, hate. For no reasons. Haters are gonna hate. That’s another reason why Rick is kicking ass in the GOP lately, and this is why he’s going to be the next President.
People call Santorum uneducated and not smart, well, sorry to say, the man knows what he’s talking about and he’s smarter than most of us.
A lot of people like to say JFK was a wonderful president and amazing, but honestly, he was much worse than Obama/George W. Bush back in the day.
I’m off to watch the Oscars red carpet.

This is a short piece from my college speakers segment videos. In this one, I go in to the importance about learning music theory. Regardless of what instrument you play, an understanding of theory will give you more opportunities, options and chances at numerous careers in music and having the chance to work in music full time over those that do no have theory well understood.
As a music consultant, I strongly urge everyone in a band to brush up on theory for writing, for creative ideas and for production. You do not have to be Mr. or Mrs. Classically trained, but the better the sense you have of theory, the more options you have to create, produce, react and resonate to the music around you.
No offense to the blogger, but for once I disagree with something he wrote!!! Oops, I said that out loud?
Even “music consultants” can say wrong things sometimes!
When you want to become a musician and become successful in the music industry, it is a choice if you want to learn music theory or not. You don’t need to know the name of the notes, all this, and that. You can just have a really good ear and improvise it all.
There are famous musicians of today that don’t even know shit about music theory. They just have a really good ear. Musicians like Dave Mustaine, Neil Young, Jeff Beck, B.B. King, Jimmy Page, etc. Those guys are really good guitarists. In interviews they have said they don’t know anything about music theory and they just improvise well. Yet, those guys are still able to become guitar legends.
I know some music theory here and there, but I’m no expert at it. You can still get good opportunities in music even if you don’t know music theory. You don’t need to be a professionally trained musician to sound like a pro, just play whatever sounds good to you is all that matters.

Tonight, I’ll be watching the Oscars, and after the show, I’ll post my review. I’ll be watching the red carpet opener just to see what Sacha Baron Cohen is going to do. He’s going to appear as the Dictator for sure, but you know he’s going to do something crazy for a laugh just to get the media going. It’ll be interesting.
Everyone thinks the Best Picture winner could go to “The Descendants”, but it could go to something else. Either, “Hugo” or “War Horse” could take the win too. These three films would be the most likely choices to win “Best Picture”. I would be surprised if “The Help” actually gets it but I doubt it though. “The Help” is a great movie.
I’ll be DVR’ing tonight’s “Walking Dead” episode, while I’m watching the Oscars. I’ll watch the new “Walking Dead” episode tomorrow. I watch the Oscars yearly.
