Even if J.J. Abrams “Star Trek” didn’t even come out yet, Paramount already greenlighted the sequel. J. J. Abrams Bad Robot is on board for producing again, but there is no official word if J.J. will return to direct the sequel. There are three different writers hired for the sequel.
The writers are not doing anything with the script at this point, because they are waiting to see an audience reaction to this “Star Trek” film when it hits theaters May 8th. So the writers basically, have no plans for a storyline right at this moment.

I bet the sequel will be entirely focused on the young cast just like the upcoming film.
Now this will make William Shatner feel better because since he didn’t make this movie for a role, maybe, they will bring the adult Captain Kirk back to the sequel? I think the Shat got their attention that he wants back in the new movies, and he may get his chance next time around.

Actor Liam Neeson is a pretty amazing guy to stay strong and return to work as soon as possible, after the tragic death of his wife Natasha Richardson. After a very brief hiatus from film, Liam just finished filming his next movie, “Chloe”. Look like he’s going back to work after all and maybe he won’t turn down the “Clash of the Titans” remake and may still do it.
I think Liam is moving forward in his career ’cause he’s giving what his wife would want. I think Natasha would want him to move forward in his career, and he’s probably doing this for her since she was an actress herself.
Good for Liam for staying strong and positive.

007 “Quantum of Solace” star, Gemma Arterton is set to star in the upcoming remake of the Greek Mythology film, “Clash of the Titans”. She plays the demi-goddess, which Gemma explains in this article that her character is not in the original 1981 film. Gemma says Persues falls in love with her but the article censored the major spoiler parts.
Sam Worthington is already set to play Persues. Liam Neeson has been offered to play the role of Zues, but due to the tragic death of his wife, looks like he may be dropping out of the project.

I hope this film is worth remaking and hope it’ll be good. I’ve said a long time ago, that a “Clash of the Titans” remake shouldn’t be made, and still stand by it. If they make the trailers good enough to get me out to the theater to check it out, maybe I’ll like it, who knows.

Rob Zombie announced that funny man musician, “Weird Al Yankovic” will be having a cameo appearance in the Halloween sequel, “H2”. Al is set to be a guest on, “The Newman Hour” which is a television program that will be doing a show on Dr. Loomis and his new book. “Weird Al” Yankovic has been well known to star in a handful of cameos in so many films over the years, including the “Naked Gun” trilogy and more.

Does this mean that “Weird Al” is going to parody one of Rob Zombie’s songs from Rob’s upcoming new album? It’s possible.

Sly, if you’re somewhat reading this blog, somehow and someway, here’s an idea for a great addition for the casting of your next movie, “The Expendables”. I recently watched a movie called, “Red Belt” last night, it’s a drama/sports kind of film. I thought the movie “Red Belt”, was absolutely incredible, and it immediately became one of my favorite films of all times.
I would like Chiwetel Ejiofor to be casted in, “The Expendables”, ’cause I think he would be a perfect addition. I prefer him to be Hale Caesar instead of Terry Crews, but if you have another black character in, “The Expendables”, I think Chiwetel would be great for the movie.
Chiwetel is definitely a tough action movie guy. He’s not so well known and could use the recognition by starring in one of your movies. You’ve probably seen him in other movies such as “Children of Men”, “Serenity”, “American Gangster”, etc. This dude is a great actor and would make a perfect, Expendable.
I doubt Sly would consider him, but it is a nice request.

Harold Ramis speaks to MTV News about “Ghostbusters 3” film. He says it’s still happening and all 4 original Ghostbusters: Harold Ramis, Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray and Ernie Hudson are still down to reprising their roles. Ramis says there is no final script yet, there isn’t even a first draft yet, but he says they are still doing the idea of the original Ghostbusters passing the torch to a younger generation of Ghostbusters. So this means after “Ghostbusters 3”, there will probably be a whole new “Ghostbusters” trilogy but with the young cast, and not the original stars.

As long as they don’t have Rob Pattison or Zac Efron in “Ghostbusters 3”, then it’ll be good.
For the young Ghostbusters, they should just have an unknown cast, no big name stars to play the younger Ghostbusters. Having an unknown cast for the young Ghostbusters will make them big stars. They should take that idea but I doubt they will, they probably would go for big names.

Starring: Nicolas Cage, Chandler Canterbury, Rose Byrne
Directed by: Alex Proyas
Just got back from the Wilton Mall on this very nice Spring afternoon, yes, it finally feels like Spring for once. You can actually go outside without a coat on finally. Before I went and saw a movie, I did pick up the new, “Legends of Wrestlemania” video game for the PS3. I just picked up the game today, so I will start playing it tonight to see how the game is. The game has been getting great reviews and positive feedback, so I decided to get it for myself.
Anyway, I saw the new Nicolas Cage movie, “Knowing” today and here is my review.
Plot/Synopsis: 50 Years ago in Lexington, Mass in 1959, an elementary teacher introduces a science project called the Time Capsule. The students must draw pictures of the future so it can be locked into the Time Capsule. Later, the Time Capsule gets buried in front of the school. One of the students, which is a young girl named Lucinda Embry who is mentally disturbed writes on a piece of paper with all of these mysterious numbers, the paper with the mysterious numbers gets locked into the Time Capsule with all the other student drawings.
50 Years later, Nicolas Cage plays a character named John Koestler who is an astrophysicist teacher at a college. The Time Capsule is pulled out of the ground in front of the school, and there is a new generation of elementary students. The drawn photos of the future were handed out to children, and of course, John Koestler’s son, Caleb, gets hold of the envelope where it had Lucinda Embry’s mysterious numbers coding.
At first, John didn’t approve Caleb grabbing hold of Lucinda’s papers with those mysterious numbers. Of course, John couldn’t resist those numbers and he decided to investigate them to see what they are all about himself. John spends all day and all night, working on those numbers. What has he discovered? All those numbers on Lucinda’s papers are actually, “dates”.
He first recognized one date which was Sept. 11th 2001, which of course, marks the Sept. 11th World Trade Center terrorist attacks. He begins to investigate the rest of the dates on Lucinda’s paper. He just discovered that all the dates marked are dates that warn you about tragic events that happen over the years all over the world. On the paper, John has circled all the dates of the tragic events that already happened in the past, but didn’t circled the ones that didn’t happen yet in the future ahead.
John already knows what happens in future tragic events, like a plane crashes by as he is driving, there is a major NYC subway station accident, things like that. John tries to help save people’s lives before those tragic events even happen.
That’s all I’ll go with the plot. My thoughts on the film? I was really really really surprised by it. The film was very good. In fact, I thought it was amazing and pretty impressive. It is definitely more of a science fiction film. The story was well told and the script was well written. The acting was great. I also loved how Nicolas Cage is the only big name star in the film, and the rest of the cast are unknown actors.
Great special effects, the sound is just mind blowing. Imagine what this movie will sound like on your 5.1 Surround Sound speakers when this film comes out on DVD/Blu Ray. I thought Nicolas Cage did a great job in this film. The film kept you at the edge of your seat, it’s a PG-13 science fiction film, but it had some incredible action sequences, especially the NYC Subway station scene, wait until you see that.
I’d definitely reccomend you to see this one before it stops playing. Exciting movie. I had fun watching it all the way through and didn’t “yawn” one bit.
Score for “Knowing” = **** (4 stars as in excellent)
