New albums by Randy Bachman and Warren Haynes you should really check out…

I listened to a couple of great new albums over the weekend that came out this year. New albums by Randy Bachman and Warren Haynes and I’ll give ’em a brief review. Thanks to Guitar World magazine who pointed me out these albums to listen to.

Randy Bachman: “Heavy Blues”

Remember Randy Bachman? The frontman for two legendary classic rock bands, Bachman Turner Overdrive and The Guess Who? I used to listen to both of those bands a lot when I was younger and still love those two bands today. I’ve always thought Randy Bachman was awesome and he’s still rockin’ today. I just listened to Randy’s solo album, “Heavy Blues” and it’s surprisingly good shit. WOW! The album is titled, “Heavy Blues” for a pretty good reason ’cause there is “Heavy Blues” music on it. Mostly blues rock and it has killer guitar playing all over it. Yeah, Randy still sounds like BTO and The Guess Who a little bit still which doesn’t surprise me but Randy is still a blast to listen to even to this day. “Heavy Blues” has a bunch of special guest guitarists providing lead guitar solos on the album such as Joe Bonamassa, Neil Young, etc. This is a heavy blues rock record which means you’re gonna hear an album that blues rock fans are gonna dig. Songs with a lot of distortion and overdrive effects. Plenty of tasty guitar solos too! It’s a kick ass album and one of my favorites of this year.

Warren Haynes: Ashes and Dust

Warren Haynes, known as the guitarist and frontman for Gov’t Mule and the former guitarist for the Allman Brothers just released a solo album. This album is more on the mellow side ’cause it’s all country, bluegrass and folk-ish kind of songs. This album has a mix of everything, really. There’s also a little bit of blues thrown in there too. Still a really good album, though. I was impressed with this one too. It’s an amazing album and one of the best this year. Yeah, you can betcha that this album will have full of tasty guitar solos as well. I dig Warren’s singing a lot. This album is different than the Allman Brothers for sure.

You should give these two albums a listen yourself. Check ’em out. I’d recommend ’em.

Predictably, Seattle judge dismisses Richard Lee’s lawsuit about Kurt Cobain body photos…

I think this Judge Theresa dismissed the lawsuit out of fear of getting sued herself by Courtney Love. Lawsuit predictably dismissed but Richard Lee isn’t gonna give up. He’s gonna try again.

http://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/judge-dismisses-lawsuit-seeking-release-of-kurt-cobain-death-scene-photos/

Want to get the Kurt Cobain death case re-opened? Gotta take a look at those photos and documents.

I think Courtney needs to stop being a cowardly bitch and come clean about Kurt’s death. Blood is now on her hands.

Keep up the good fight, Richard! What’s sad is that I think that it is pathetic that anybody who questions the death of Kurt Cobain and wants to look into it more is immediately called a “conspiracy theorist”. Maybe these “conspiracy theorists” are just a die-hard Nirvana fan themselves and they just feel that other fans need to know the truth of Kurt’s death. There’s no proof of Kurt’s suicide.

What are Courtney and Francis hiding about Kurt Cobain’s death? Do they know something we don’t???

Today, a Seattle judge will hear arguments on whether a not a trial will proceed that may result in the graphic photos of Kurt Cobain’s death. Richard Lee sued Seattle as an attempt to get the death photos released to prove that there were no gunshot wounds to the head. It’s been 21 years since the passing of Kurt Cobain but photos of Kurt dead in his home has never seen by the public. Courtney Love and Frances Bean want the photos of Kurt’s body to be kept sealed.

http://loudwire.com/potential-release-kurt-cobain-death-scene-photos-argued-seattle-court/

So Frances Bean may know something about Kurt’s death as well, doesn’t she? Sure, Frances Bean may have only been about 2 years old when Kurt allegedly killed himself but I think she may have seen the photos when she got older and I think she knows what she have seen in those photos. Is Frances Bean helping to protect her mother from getting in trouble? It seems so.

If they are desperately trying to keep those photos sealed, they are definitely hiding something and I think those photos WILL prove there was no gunshot wound to the head at all.

Yeah, I’d say release those damn photos. We need to prove that Kurt being murdered isn’t conspiracy theory at all. Courtney and Francis are getting scared. Courtney tried to shut down the release of “Soaked In Bleach” movie and now she wants to keep Kurt’s death photos sealed. The more Courtney doesn’t cooperate, the more guilty she looks. Yep, there’s no doubt in my mind that I believe that Courtney hired a hitman to kill Kurt. Lets throw her and Allen Wrench in prison soon please!

Release those photos, we deserve to know what’s on them especially the fans of Kurt and Nirvana.

Jefferson Airplane is my new addiction, I think… one of the greatest classic rock bands of all time!

You probably know Jefferson Airplane with their two hit songs “Somebody To Love” and “White Rabbit” but you should listen to all their records. While I love those two songs myself, they have way better songs than that. Especially songs like “Tobacco Road”, “Go To Her” and “It’s No Secret” are some of my other favorites of theirs.

Thanks to Apple Music, I got to listen to most of their catalog of studio albums. Yesterday I listened to Jefferson Airplane’s live album, “Live at the Fillmore” and right now I’m listening to their “Woodstock Experience” live album.

I really love Grace Slick and her voice. Plus, Marty Balin rocks on the vocals too. The songwriting and the musicianship is really great with this band. This band is where the psychedelic era all started. I just got addicted to listening to their music. Couldn’t stop listening.

I would love to listen to their 1989 reunion album but it’s not available in Itunes. I’ll have to check Amazon to see if I can buy the physical CD from there. Jefferson Airplane is a genius band, though. Listening to them live is more fun than their studio albums ’cause they were meant to be a live band to begin with. Grace Slick has a jaw-dropping voice, plus she’s smoking hot and sexy as hell too!

You should listen to their albums yourself. I think their best studio album is “Volunteers”, though. That album is pretty mind blowing and will melt your face.

Interesting interview with Joe Satriani with AOL… with host Brad Tolinski of Guitar World…

Joe Satriani, the legendary guitar virtuoso just did a Q&A session with AOL with host Brad Tolinski who is the editor in chief for Guitar World magazine.

There are some pretty interesting discussions. He talks guitars of course, the new album “Shockwave Supernova”, they talked some about Joe’s past albums, he talks a lot about Steve Vai… as some of you know Joe Satriani taught Steve Vai to play guitar. Now we finally know the answer on why Joe Satch and Steve Vai never made a studio record and Joe explains it in this interview. Joe’s answer to that question is that if they went into the studio together, they would fight over ideas and things like that. They get along well but they’re worried that they won’t get along well in the studio, ha! That’s why they never made a record together but who knows? Never say never. Maybe they will get around to making a record together someday.

Joe also gave some guitar playing advice, of course. I love how Joe recommend guitar players that they shouldn’t worry about finger exercises. You know how you do chromatic exercises and speed exercises for scales? Joe doesn’t recommend finger exercises at all if you wanna play fast. A lot of guitar players would waste a lot of time practising exercises on a metronome to see how fast they can play. All that stuff may be nice but it’s a waste of time. Joe says that making music is more important. You want your lead playing to sound musical. Try to work on your musical phrasing on a metronome instead of finger exercises. He never agreed with finger exercises, he’s always more worried about sounding more musical in your lead playing. Sounds like good advice to me. Maybe I should forget about finger exercises too and just concentrate on being musical.

Joe is one musician who gives the best interviews. He’s such a nice guy and there’s no ego in this man at all. So down to earth and he’s real honest too! While Joe is an honest guy, he tries his best not to sound mean or harsh. He’s not like Noel Gallagher or Kerry King of Slayer who are always such jerks in interviews. Joe is the man!

Listen to this interview. It’s well worth it. “Shockwave Supernova” is a great album, btw. I listened to it on Apple Music once and it’s an awesome album. It’s different than his earlier stuff as expected ’cause Joe’s always doing something different every album.

Jewel going back to her folk roots for new album???

I used to love Jewel. In the past, I bought her first couple of albums: “Pieces of You”, “Spirit” and even her Christmas album, “Joy: A Holiday Collection’ were really good stuff but after her third album, I lost interest in Jewel quickly.

Why? Simply because she went to country & pop. I got disappointed in her change of direction.

Look like she’s going back to her origins of what made her famous to begin with… folk music. Her next album is titled, “Picking Up The Pieces” which is supposed to be a bookend to her famous album, “Pieces of You” which is an album that I still love. Jewel’s new album comes out in Sept.

Scott Weiland back on the drugs again? Is he hiding something?

Scott Weiland announced that he just cancelled the European Tour with the Wildabouts all of a sudden and the reason is this:

too many administration and production issues to overcome

Really? That’s a big load of bullshit and everybody knows Scott is hiding something. Like most people, I think he’s back on the drugs again and he may have OD’d himself.

There’s no possible way that a band could have too many administration and production issues. Bands are almost always great with that stuff so I think they’re saying that as a cover that Scott is back on the drugs again.

Scott keeps saying publicly that he hasn’t done drugs in 13 years but it’s probably a lie. You’ve seen him in his recent interviews lately and he doesn’t look good at all. He may not be back on the heroin again but is he addicted to prescription meds and alcohol possible? Either way he’s definitely onto something.

Gregg Allman no longer holds a grudge against Dickey Betts…

Here’s a cool interview with Gregg Allman and Gregg reveals he has no grudge against Dickey Betts who is one of the founding members of the Allman Brothers. Gregg and Dickey has been feuding for a long time which could have been why Dickey never played the final Allman’s shows at The Beacon but it’s turning out that may not be the case at all. Maybe Gregg actually tried to get Dickey to play the final shows but Dickey was busy doing other things?

Gregg says he would love to jam with Dickey again, not as a member of Gregg’s solo band but just to jam for fun. So who knows, maybe we’ll someday finally get to hear Gregg and Dickey singing “Ramblin’ Man” again.

Ellie Goulding is the artist for opening theme of “Spectre”??? Seems so…

https://instagram.com/p/5qCxgKTff3/

It seems that Ellie Goulding, a pop singer from the UK will be the artist for the opening theme song of James Bond’s next film, “Spectre”. She drops a big hint in the photo above leaving Abbey Road Studios. Remember now, Adelle recorded her “Skyfall” theme at the same studio.

Weird. I never really heard of Ellie Goulding until now.
