Man I’m so sick of Beyonce, she’s probably gonna sweep everything at the Grammy’s…

The Grammy Awards is turning into the MTV Awards but much worse. It’s no surprise that Beyonce will score the most nominations.

What’s the most shocking about this year’s award show is that they snubbed Taylor Swift for her “1989” album for “Album of the Year”. I’m happy that Beck got nominated for “Album of The Year”, I haven’t heard his album “Morning Phase” yet. I never listened to Ed Sheeran’s music before so I don’t know about him. Sam Smith I never really heard of either. I’m glad Pharrell Williams got “Album the Year” ’cause his “Girl” album is a really good album… I still like that album a lot.

While I would love to see Pharrell win for his album “Girl” for “Album of the Year”… I don’t think he’s gonna get it. It’s obviously gonna go to Beyonce. I’m not a fan of Beyonce at all. That is one artist that I don’t really like. She’s obviously gonna get the big win… too predictable. Seriously, fuck the Grammy’s. I’ll never buy Beyonce’s music. Not my cup of tea.

Although, I will confess, however, that I did listen to her music once when she was with Destiny’s Child back in the day. I remember owning a Destiny’s Child album once in the past but I got rid of it. I think it was the album, “Survivor”, not sure, though.

Ac/Dc’s “Rock Or Bust” is actually not a bad album, it’s pretty good…

A lot of people claim that Ac/Dc never changed their style over the years. Even the band themselves made that claim. I disagree. I listened to Ac/Dc’s  new album, “Rock Or Bust” earlier today and I was pretty impressed with the album. Despite Mal not playing guitar on it… the album is still good. Their style is a little bit different with their new guitarist, Stevie Young. I think the riffs are great and when I heard the album, I still felt that Mal was playing guitar on it even if he’s not in the line-up anymore sadly. The riffs are really great and catchy. This is Brian’s best singing and Angus’s guitar solo’s are badass as usual.

This album may sound a little too pop and every song sounds like a radio friendly single but it’s still a fun album. Not the best Ac/Dc album. In my opinion, “The Razor’s Edge” will always be the best Brian era album. Nothing will top that album. I only listened to “Rock Or Bust” album once today and I’ll have to listen to it a few more times. “Rock Or Bust” is still a pretty tight album and fun to listen to. I dug it.

Ac/Dc has always been one of those bands that you either love or hate but I love them. Always did. They are one of my top 10 favorite legendary bands other than Led Zep, The Allman Bros., The Doors, Metallica and The Clash.

“Rock Or Bust” is definitely a must listen.

Ever wonder if Kurt Cobain would like the Foo Fighters? Now we finally know!!!

Some of us wondered if Kurt Cobain would have liked the Foo Fighters. Some of us speculated that he wouldn’t like them ’cause of his punk background and some of us speculated that he would love them. Turns out that Kurt ended up loving the Foo Fighters. Kurt heard an early demo of the Foo Fighters back in the days when it was just Dave in the band (NOTE: The Foo Fighters started off as a one man band at the time). Kurt loved the demo, loved the demo a bit too much that is. If Kurt was still alive today, I’m sure he would have continued to support the Foo Fighters.

I thought this was an interesting story so I thought it was worth posting here.

Scott Stapp’s questionable song titles on his facebook page… scary stuff…

Over the weekend, Scott Stapp have been posting a series of song titles that he’s been listening to. Yes, people in facebook post songs that they’re listening to all the time but if you pay close attention to what Scott is doing, it seems like he’s been using the song titles as a cry for “help” and he maybe hinting at “suicide”. Song titles like, “Achille’s Last Stand”, “Running To Stand Still”, “She Talks To Angels”, “Twice As Hard” and many others. Seems like he’s been writing a suicide note on facebook as “song titles”.

https://www.facebook.com/ScottStapp?fref=nf

I’m sure his managers and agents could stop him but Scott is probably posting these on a mobile phone himself so I’m sure there’s no way to stop him. He’s probably doing this for attention just to try to get his wife and son back but when people put up suicidal notes publicly, we should be concerned.

I hope he gets the help he needs before it’s too late. He needs to knock it off and grow up.

Will Scott Stapp end up like Robin Williams???

Scott’s facebook page is getting pretty fucking scary. He’s getting weirder and weirder. Are all these song posts he’s been posting suicide notes? Is he threatening to kill himself again? Pretty scary how he went from posting three videos ranting about how he claims to be broke and homeless, then went to posting about listening to his favorite songs on facebook.

He’s definitely scaring his fans and his supporters.

Maybe there is nothing wrong with his wife and she’s probably just as scared of him as we all are.

Is Scott Stapp lying about being clean and sober???

https://twitter.com/stapp113/status/539087913175506944

In Scott Stapp’s videos, the Creed rocker claims he is 100% clean and sober. Scott claims he doesn’t do drugs and drink alcohol anymore. According to his son, Jagger, that is not true. The tweet above appears to be Jagger’s twitter.

I’m surprised that Jagger’s tweet about this didn’t go viral yet but give it time… it will. I’ll be honest that Scott does seem a little messed up in those videos.

Scott Stapp’s supermodel wife, a gold-digger out to destroy him???

I haven’t been following all the Scott Stapp drama until he started posting those three videos on his facebook page. He took them down, though which is a good thing. In my opinion, he shouldn’t have made this stuff public.

I think it maybe possible that it’s his gold-digging wife, Jaclyn did this to him. Took his money and made him homeless. If you’ve noticed in his videos he posted, he never exactly went into details of how he got homeless. Did his wife kick him out of the house or what???

Scott claims he’s broke and homeless but keep in mind, you can’t trust rock stars either.

I don’t see how Scott can be broke after making millions from his Creed albums and his solo records. The guy is still working on music and tours often.

He does seem like a nice guy, though after seeing those videos. I wish Scott well.

Al Di Meola on playing fast notes vs. playing a few notes…

What’s more important: learning to play a lot of notes fast or learning how to get the most out of a few notes?

You need both abilities: to be able to sing a melody and play with space, and also to have the requisite technique to play the most intricate music. That makes you more complete, and able to play a wider variety of music. It’s a bunch of bullshit every time guitarists say, “One note says so much more than 100.” I always laugh at idiots who make that claim. Tell that to a flamenco player or a classical player and see what they say. It’s almost a defensive reaction. They take something they lack, attack it and claim they never wanted it in the first place. Sure!

http://www.guitarworld.com/inquirer-al-di-meola

Just wanted to respond to more of my thoughts against Kelly Zullo’s critics of her playing fast notes.

I agree with Al. You need to have the ability to do both, being good at playing a few notes and being good at playing fast. People will make the argument of “less is more” but when it comes to guitar playing, not always. Playing a bunch of fast notes can be pretty useful melodically. People will make claims that playing 100 fast notes is just a bunch of noodling and playing too much but not always. If you shred, as long as you’re playing melodically and playing with feeling, people won’t mind you playing a bunch of fast notes.

I’m trying my best to become that type of guitar player. Playing fast notes and shredding. How do you become that player? Well, first of all you need some finger exercises and start playing very slowly. Build speed as you practice. Secondly, use a metronome too, always. I can say that I’m a pretty quick lead guitar player but I’m not a speed demon yet. I’m no Joe Satriani or Steve Vai or Yngwie but I’m doing my best to get there.

When you want to play guitar at a professional level, gotta have the ability to do both, play slow and fast. You shouldn’t neglect, “shredding”. Sometimes I like to experiment with “shredding”.

I do want to be that kind of guitar player but it’ll take some time to get there. Being a “shredder” and “virtuoso” type doesn’t happen overnight. Being that kind of musician takes years of practice.

People shouldn’t knock guitar players wanting to play a bunch of fast notes. In my opinion, there’s nothing wrong with it. Playing fast can be pretty useful for your music and your songs. Guitar players don’t play fast just to show off and say, “Hey look at me, I can play fast”. People play fast ’cause sometimes that’s what the song needs, ya know? People play fast if the song calls for it.

Creed frontman, Scott Stapp, announces that he’s homeless due to battle with IRS…

This is very sad. A shame what’s happening to former Creed frontman, Scott Stapp who is now homeless due to a nasty battle with the IRS. While squashing rumors of his death and drug/alcohol addiction, Scott posted a 15 minute long video revealing to the whole world of what’s going on in his life right now. It’s not very good either and this is coming from a singer who fronted one of the biggest band’s in rock history. Creed only released 4 albums in their career and all of them were very successful in the Billboard charts. They were a pretty mainstream and commercial band in the late 90’s and early 2000’s years.

If you think being a rock star makes you rich and make you feel glorious with all the fame and fortune, you may wanna watch this video.

I’m a fan of the band Creed. I know this band is not everyone’s favorite but I dig the band. I bought their albums and saw them in concert like two or three times. It was an honor to see Scott sing on a stage when I had the chance.

I don’t wanna gossip about him or speculate on what’s going with his personal life but it sounds like his divorce with his wife may be a part of it.

Now that he posted that video, I think people will try to help him now. People will try to send him some donations and I’m sure his bandmates in Creed will help him out as well.

The video is pretty sad and almost brought tears to my eyes admittedly. Remember, being a rock star is not always great. You’ll deal with a lot of setbacks. A lot of ups and downs. Fame and fortune can ruin your life.

This just goes to show how shady the IRS really is and what the economy could do to all of us. Wake up, America.

Why I’m not getting the new albums by Pink Floyd or Ac/Dc…

To be honest, I don’t think I’m gonna get the new albums by either Pink Floyd or Ac/Dc. Pink Floyd released a new album called, “Endless River” which is a tribute to Rick Wright and unreleased material recorded around the “Division Bell” sessions. Honestly, I wasn’t too impressed with their new song that just came out, “Louder Than Words” in which David Gilmour sings. I wasn’t too impressed with that song at all. It was kind of boring and un-listenable at best. I listened to other clips of the album in ITunes and wasn’t too thrilled about the other tracks so I don’t think I’m gonna get it. I do like Pink Floyd, I prefer their older stuff with Syd Barrett and Roger Waters. I’ve noticed that “Endless River” is getting mostly negative reviews so I guess the rest of the Pink Floyd fanbase would come to an agreement that this new album release is a bit of a let down and disappointment.

As for Ac/Dc, I’m not really all that thrilled with their new songs either. It’s just the same typical three or four chord pop songs that Ac/Dc have always been known to writing. Plus, I don’t want to get an Ac/Dc album that doesn’t have Malcolm Young on guitar.

I don’t think I’m gonna get these two albums at all and think I’m gonna skip ’em.

I am gonna get the new Smashing Pumpkins album, “Monuments To An Elegy”, I’ve been impressed with the songs that Billy Corgan have been releasing so far so I’m probably gonna end up buying that one. There are still a few other albums I need to get that came out earlier this year like Fozzy “Do You Wanna Start A War”, Primus “Primus & the Chocolate Factory”, Opeth “Pale Communion” and Judas Priest “Redeemer of Souls”. I’ll try to get to those albums pretty soon.

I’ll have to admit that 2014 was a pretty decent year of music. I purchased quite a bit of new albums this year and I usually don’t buy too many new albums. When will my top music list be up this year? At the end of year I usually do a Top 10 Best of but this year, I think I’m gonna make it a top 15. So at the end of December I’m gonna do a list of Top 15 Best Music Albums of 2014. I’ll do the same for movies too. I’ll make the Top 15 Best of Music and Movies lists in a video blog at the end of the year… either at the end of Dec. or beginning of January.
