Brock’s video games wishlist…

Since I just bought a ps3 system several months ago and I’m pretty new to it, I have made a vow that I was going to start a ps3 game collection. Why? Becausse I know you video gamers out there know how fast video game systems quickly come and go. Many different video game systems come and go over the years. I do know that the ps3 is going to stick around for a long long time since it’s success, but you know someday in the future, they will take the ps3 off the market and come out with a ps4 or something like that. They already have started plans in making a ps4 system as a matter of fact. So this is why it’s good to buy as many good ps3 games as possible while the fun lasts.

Here is a list of video games I haven’t got yet but would like to have in my collection:

Games I want that are already out in stores:

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed

Army of Two

Devil May Cry IV

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

Midnight Club: Los Angeles

Enemy Territory: Quake Wars

Assasins Creed

Silent Hill: Homecoming

Games I want that are coming out soon:

Tomb Raider: Underworld (Release date: Nov. 18th)

WWE Smackdown Vs. Raw 2009 (Release date: Nov. 9th)

007 Quantum of Solace (Release date: Nov. 4th)

Resistance 2 (Release date: Nov. 4th)

Ghostbusters: The Video Game (release date unknown)

Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena (release date unknown)

So many games I want, so little time to play each one, and most importantly depends on the cash I have. I only buy a new video game when ever I have a lot of extra free cash ’cause ps3 games are obviously kind of pricey, pretty much $60.00 for each game. Christmas is just around the corner so never know I could start getting some of these games under the Christmas tree.

Report: “Ghostbusters” and “Chronicles of “Riddick” video games gets a new home at Atari…

Atari the longest running video game company created by Nolan Bushnell has bought the rights to release “The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena” and “Ghostbusters: The Video Game”. Both of these games used to be owned by Activision Blizzard but the company refused to release those two video games after they merged with Vivendi Games company which will happen later this summer.

“The Chronicles Of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena” will be the sequel and follow up to “Riddick’s: Escape at Butcher Bay”, “Dark Athena” will release this Spring. The Atari officials won’t comment on when “Ghostbusters: The Video Game” will release, but a source close to Atari says they are waiting to release the game next summer so the game can take part in celebrating the “25th Anniversary” of the original “Ghostbusters” film.

“The Chronicle’s of Riddick” video games were based upon the sci-fi/action adventure movies that starred Vin Diesel as Riddick.

Great news that the two games found a new home. I figure they would. While I am looking forward to the new “Ghostbusters” game which I will get if it ever comes out, I am also looking forward to the “Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena” also sounds very interesting.

Although we all know the Beatles Rock Band game will include all their greatest hits, lets hope they include some songs of the Beatles that are not well known as well.

Report: EA’s “Army Of Two” video game coming to the big screen…

The popular video game “Army Of Two” made by Electronic Arts is getting a live action treatment to the big screen. Universal Pictures has acquired the rights with EA to make “Army of Two” into a live action picture. Scott Z. Burns will write the script, he previously co-wrote “The Bourne Ultimatum”.

“Army of Two” isn’t really a first person shooter it’s basically a war action adventure type of game.

More on it here:

http://www.variety.com/article/VR1117994565.html?categoryid=13&cs=1

I know about this video game, I’ve been looking at it everytime I visit Best Buy. It looks like a fun game, I won’t buy the game “Army of Two” yet, but maybe down the road sometime.

My next video game purchase will be “Dead Space”, I’m picking that game up next week.

Kev

“Dead Space” maybe my next game purchase for the PS3…

This game is a mix of horror/action/sci fi. It’s also a mix of a first person shooter and a regular adventure game with a storyline into it. There are other games I want to get for the Ps3 but once I saw the trailer for this game, I’ve been sold to this one.

I still haven’t beaten “Metal Gear Solid 4” yet, I just finally beat the first boss of that game, the Laughing Octopus, it was challenging and difficult boss to beat, but I took time and patience to figure out how to get past that Laughing Octopus character. “Metal Gear Solid 4” is a sweet game although I wish the game wasn’t so long with the storyline segments, that’s my only complaint.

I just hope “Dead Space” has more action than storyline.

While I do love to play a variety of genres in video games, I mostly like to play action adventure type of stuff. I do enjoy first person shooter vidoe games, I do enjoy sports games sometimes, I love any kind of car racing videogame like “Need For Speed” or “Midnight Club” or whatever. I enjoy fighting games such as Soul Calibur, Smackdown Vs. Raw, etc.

I enjoy action/adventure games the most because I do like the storytelling in some of them games, the action is a lot of fun and most importantly action/adventure games can get you thinking, when you’re walking around places trying to figure out clues and puzzles and stuff like that, it gets you thinking and learning. Action/adventure video games can be insightful.

If I had the skills, I could go to college to learn animation for video games, that would be a cool career for me to have, work for the video gaming industry. I’m a storyteller in fiction, and I could come up with a lot of great story ideas for original video games.

Report: Will Star Wars “The Force Unleashed” video game become a movie?

I’m sure everyone knows that new “Star Wars: The Force Unleashed” video game is now out in stores everywhere for all video game consoles. The game’s creator and leader, Haden Blackman, made the game because he originally wanted this story to be on the big screen in a movie theater. I believe it was made into a video game instead because there was no deal to make it with George Lucas at the time.

Blackman said it is possible to make this game into a live action movie, and he also says George Lucas has expressed interest making it into a film. The story to “The Force Unleashed” is taking place between Episode III and Episode IV.

More on it here:

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/herocomplex/2008/09/will-force-unle.html

As much as I’m getting sick of Star Wars, I’ll have to admit that I am interested in playing “The Force Unleashed” video game. I honestly came this close to buying the video game at Best Buy a few times but put it back to get it another time. The game actually looks promising and fun. I think I’ll definitely buy it next time I go to Best Buy.

Reason I didn’t get it yet, is because I have a total of 10 games in my PS3 collection and so far I’ve beaten two of them. I try not to buy a new game since I still need to beat the rest of them.

My ps3 game collection so far:

Grand Theft Auto IV (beaten this game)

Viking: The Battle For Asgard (beaten this game)

FEAR

Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock

Guitar Hero: Aerosmith

The Bourne Conspiracy

Iron Man

Beijing Olympics 2008

Soul Calibur IV

Metal Gear Solid 4

I’m currently playing “Metal Gear Solid 4” right now. I will get “The Force Unleashed” and will play it sometime down the road after I beat these other ones.

Report: Brett Ratner will bring “God of War” to the big screen…

Film director Brett Ratner said he will bring “God of War” the hit video game a live action adaptation to the big screen.

The man said so himself here:

http://movieblog.ugo.com/index.php/movieblog/more/brett_ratner_making_god_of_war_film_confirmed/

Now just because he made horrible films in the past, I wouldn’t immediately jump in and assume he’s going to make “God of War” a bad film. He could possibly make it a great film if made right.

If Brett Ratner stays true to the video game, it could be great.

I agree with that blog, lets hope Ratner keeps the film rated R for the graphic violence and nudity. Because if you’re a die hard fan of the “God of War” games like myself, you would know that the games are full of blood and violence, and naked women in them too. Yep, the video games have naked women in the “God of War” games with their breasts shown uncensored and everything, lets hope Ratner doesn’t make it PG-13 friendly although I have a feeling he’s going to.

Report: Ac/Dc to get their own video game for Rock Band…

Look like the Rock Band franchise snagged Ac/Dc to get their own music video game before Guitar Hero even got to them! Ac/Dc will release, “Ac/Dc Rock Band Track Pack” that will include 18 live tracks from their Donnington concert.

Here’s the tracklisting for their Rock Band Track Pack:

“Thunderstruck”
“Shoot To Thrill”
“Back in Black”
“Hell Ain’t a Bad Place to Be”
“Heatseeker”
“Fire Your Guns”
“Jailbreak”
“The Jack”
“Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap”
“Moneytalks”
“Hells Bells”
“High Voltage”
“Whole Lotta Rosie”
“You Shook Me All Night Long”
“T.N.T.”
“Let There Be Rock”
“Highway To Hell”
“For Those About to Rock (We Salute You)”

This “Rock Band Track Pack” by Ac/Dc will be released in the US sometime in November. It will be released in Europe, Australia and New Zealand in December.

Billboard reports:

I probably won’t get this if this is going to Rock Band then. I prefer Guitar Hero more.

Report: Zack Snyder signs deal to make three video games with EA…

Zack Snyder who is the director of films such as “300” and the upcoming “Watchmen” (if it gets released and not canned by Fox, that is) has signed a deal to make 3 original video games with Electronic Arts. EA inspired to work with Snyder by the success of “300”, since the film’s audience is mostly young men in their 20’s and 30’s who also buys the most video games, EA thinks that Snyder would make really good video games being that “300” movie is almost video game like.

Remember now, Snyder is signed to do three “original” video games, meaning he won’t be doing sequels of other video games or no video games adapted from movies. Totally original.

Variety Reports:

http://www.variety.com/article/VR1117993034.html?categoryid=13&cs=1

Looking forward to what Snyder is going to come up with, he’ll come up with really good stuff for the video games.
