007 “Skyfall” arrives on Netflix for streaming…

Netflix streaming launched their new design this weekend. When I logged into my Netflix account last night, saw the new design, the first thing I see is the 007 movie, “Skyfall”, made available for streaming. All of you Netflix subscribers probably saw the same thing! Yep, “Skyfall”, is now a streamable movie on Netflix.

I would recommend you watch “Skyfall” tonight if you got nothing to watch. I wouldn’t exactly say that “Skyfall”is the best 007 ’cause there has been other good ones from the past but “Skyfall” is indeed the best Daniel Craig 007 film, that is.

I’m probably gonna re-watch, “Skyfall” later tonight. It was one of my favorite movies of 2012.

Even if you’re not much of a James Bond fan, you should still check it out ’cause this film is a new introduction to the character. This film has nothing to do with “Casino Royale” or “Quantum of Solace”. “Skyfall” is a complete standalone film.

BREAKING NEWS: Sam Mendes says no to directing Bond 24…

Despite all the positive reviews of “Skyfall” and the huge box office numbers, Sam Mendes says no to directing Bond 24, due to other commitments. He is scheduled to direct, “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, and “King Lear” films, and his focus on those two movies. Shame, I was hoping he would give Bond another shot, ’cause “Skyfall”, was a pretty amazing flick and it is indeed, the best Bond film ever made, in my opinion.

I almost bought “Skyfall” on BluRay yesterday, but ended up getting the new “Tomb Raider” game instead.

I don’t think other directors will make a good Bond film after this one, though. They will go downhill again.

See the director’s statement, here.

Report: The Oscars will include James Bond tribute in celebration for 50th Anniversary…

The Academy announced today, that the 85th Annual Oscars show this year will feature a 50th Anniversary tribute for the James Bond franchise. Now that a James Bond tribute has been confirmed, it’s looking more and more likely that “Skyfall” could land a lot of nominations for the Oscars.

More on the story, here.

I know this doesn’t confirm a “Best Picture” nomination, just a possibility for now. I can see it happening though. “Skyfall” is a really good movie. It’s definitely the best Bond movie ever made.

As for the 10 films that will get nominated for “Best Picture” at the Oscars this year. It might look like this, just my prediction:

Lincoln
Django Unchained
Skyfall
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
Flight
Argo
The Master
Moonrise Kingdom
Zero Dark Thirty
Les Miserables

I think those films definitely has a possibility getting the Best Picture, nod. As for what film I think is going to win Best Picture, I really really really hope, “Skyfall”, gets it, ’cause that would be amazing if it got the win. Bond winning Best Picture which never happened before, will be history making. If “Skyfall” gets snubbed, that’s okay ’cause the rest of the movies deserve it too.

The only films on that list I haven’t seen yet are “Flight”, “Argo”, “The Master”, “Zero Dark Thirty”, and “Les Miserables” (which I hope to see soon).

Looking forward to seeing “Skyfall” Friday afternoon…

I love James Bond movies. I’ve been watching 007 flicks for years, and of course, Sean Connery, will always be the best, Bond. Roger Moore was pretty good too. I loved Timothy Dalton for Bond, but he was Bond for only two films. The only Bond I didn’t like was, Pierce Brosnan, but I did like the movie, “Golden Eye”. “Golden Eye” was the only good Pierce Brosnan, 007 flick. Daniel Craig, makes a really good Bond, but they need to improve his films. “Casino Royale” was a great flick but “Quantum of Solace” sucked hard. Hopefully, “Skyfall” won’t disappoint. I’m looking forward to seeing “Skyfall”, this coming Friday. I’ll review the film for this site, of course. Hope it’s a good film. Probably will be.

Cool Video: The “Skyfall” trailer gave me goosebumps, and I’m ready to see it, I think…

The full domestic trailer for the next 007 flick, “Skyfall”, is finally here. The film looks really good too. Of course, all James Bond trailers try to make themselves really good. Hopefully “Skyfall” won’t disappoint, and it’ll be better than “Casino Royale”/”Quantum of Solace”. I did love “Casino Royale”, but I hated “Quantum of Solace”. I’m hoping “Skyfall” will be good. I’ll be seeing this one.

They plan to start shooting the film, late 2011. The plot is being kept under wraps, but the story will continue on from the last Bond movie, “Quantum of Solace”.

I thought, “Casino Royale” was an amazing film. “Quantum of Solace” sucked. Hopefully the next one will be good. I like 007 movies, sure.

Report: Clint Eastwood could have been Superman and James Bond…

While promoting his new directed movie, “Hereafter” that stars Matt Damon, Clint Eastwood admits that he was offered by Warner Bros. to play Superman and was offered to play James Bond, but Eastwood turned them both down. The reason? Eastwood always did roles that were more realistic. Eastwood never wanted to play silly superheros, he always felt like those roles were for somebody else but not him. Read more on it here.

Yeah, it’s no secret that Eastwood always did roles that were more real. He’s done roles like that throughout most of his career. Even the films he never starred in but directed, were based on reality too.

Eastwood wouldn’t make a bad Superman, back in the old days, if you think about it. His face has got that Superman look, I think that’s why Warner Bros approached him. Many actors were offered the Superman role: Stallone, Tom Selleck, Nicolas Cage, etc. They were all turned down so the role was more fitting to no one other but the late, Christopher Reeve.

Just imagine Eastwood playing the Clark Kent role too, with the glasses and black hair. I’m sure Eastwood would be able to play the Clark Kent/Superman role pretty well, he just felt someone else was more deserving to that role. Maybe Clint knew that Christopher Reeve deserved it more so Clint talked the film makers into hiring Chris instead?

BREAKING NEWS: James Bond destroys box office and makes history with “Quantum of Solace”!!!

While the fall/winter season of movies slows down in the box office, things start to pick back up again when the newest 007 flick “Quantum of Solace” finally hits the theaters this weekend. “Quantum of Solace” made a whopping $70.4. It is also considered to be the very first James Bond film to be the most successful ever.

Variety Reports:

Don’t worry folks. “Twilight” will make a lot more than James Bond.

With “Twilight” coming out next weekend on Nov. 21st, mark my words, it’ll make at least $80-$100 million or even more.

Report: Roger Moore bashes the new Bond films with Daniel Craig…

A former James Bond star, Roger Moore, said he has seen the new Bond flick “Casino Royale” but he has not yet seen the new one “Quantum of Solace”. Moore says he isn’t impressed with them at all. He said he hated how the films has turned violent and graphic, he explains how that is NOT James Bond.

He says positive things about the new James Bond actor, that man is Daniel Craig. He says Daniel IS Bond. Moore just doesn’t want the new films to be so violent. The earlier James Bond flicks were violent sure but they weren’t as graphic as “Casino Royale” and “Quantum” was. The earlier Bond flicks were family friendly, the newer Bond flicks with Daniel Craig are aiming more toward the adult audience.

Roger Moore played James Bond pretty much throughout the 70’s and most of the 80’s, Moore starred in the 007 films such as “The Man With the Golden Gun”, “A View To Kill”, “The Spy Who Loved Me”, “Moonraker”, etc.

“Quantum of Solace” comes out this Friday night, don’t know if I’ll see it in theater or not. I’ll probably wait for DVD on this one, not sure. I’m more interested in seeing “Twilight” than this one though.

But as far as Roger Moore’s comments on the new films goes, I don’t agree with him. I’ve seen “Casino Royale” and the violence in that film is not as bad and graphic as he claims. Maybe he is just old and not used to today’s violent films just yet. In “Casino Royale” there is only one scene that is very graphic when James Bond is captured by badguys and he is getting violently tortured by them. That’s the only graphic scene out of the whole movie but other than that, the rest of the film isn’t that bad. The violence in the rest of “Casino Royale” is similar to the older flicks.
