As predicted, Madonna think she is too big and famous for Albany and Saratoga, but you gotta give credit for Neil Diamond willing to play Albany though.
Madonna will be playing two dates at Madison Square Garden so that’s the closest that New Yorkers will try to get a chance to see her live in person.
Would I go see her live? Probably not. I do like Madonna a lot but not enough to go see her in concert or start buying her albums. I do enjoy listening to her music ocassionally though.

As a fan of Billy Idol I’ll probably wind up getting this. This guy rules! This guy was one of the coolest rock stars back in those days in the 80’s. Gotta love his singing voice and the white spiked hair. Billy continues to release new albums occasionally but he is not a mainstream artist anymore like he once was.
Singer/songwriter Beck Hansen, or better known as “Beck” is releasing another new album this summer. No release date has been confirmed yet but this album is produced by some guy named Danger Mouse. The album title is not yet revealed and the album will include only 10 tracks. Beck has been made famous for his popular albums like “Mellowgold” and “Odelay”. In his younger days before his career, Beck started off as a folk singer playing small cafes and coffeehouses until he got big and famous. Now he plays music in all genres from acoustic folk, hip/hop, dance, rock, etc.
Beck’s latest album was “The Information” which was released back in 2006.
Not sure what genre Beck is heading to in this album because Beck does a different genre every album he does, kind of like Neil Young. I don’t care what genre Beck does, I love all the music he does. I have several of Beck’s albums in my CD collection and he is one of my favorite artists believe it or not.
Announced today, Madonna revealed she will go on a full world tour this summer, playing a slew of 50-60 shows. This tour is of course produced and sponsored by Live Nation. Her first concert of the tour will begin Aug. 23rd in Cardiff, Wales. Her tour listings will be unleashed to the public later today.
Will Madonna come to Albany at Times Union Center or Saratoga Springs at SPAC this summer? Who knows. But it’s pretty unlikely. The closest she’ll probably perform to us is no where other than NYC, she’ll probably get a gig at Madison Square Garden if anything. A Madonna tour is good news though.

Some of Scarlett’s album “Anywhere I Lay My Head” has been leaked to youtube, and Tom Waits popular song “I Don’t Want to Grow Up” covered by Scarlett Johansson is here.
I’m enjoying this album so far, so I think I’ll pick it up when it comes out in a few weeks!
Amy Winehouse turned herself into London police today due to a video she was being taped smoking crack/cocaine at a house party that the Sun newspaper released to the internet for everyone to see. The police became curious and wanted to investigate themselves.
If she dies of a drug overdose this year, I won’t feel upset or devastated about it. There’s been so many celebrities and famous musicians dying of drug overdoses that I really don’t care anymore. It’s gonna happen to her at some point if she doesn’t cut the shit.
I’d love to see new music by her but I’m afraid we ain’t gonna see a new album by her in a long time. She’s gonna keep doing drugs no matter how many times she turns herself into rehab.
Keep it up Amy, or you’ll be singing in heaven with Ike Turner before you know it.
Sting, Andy Summers and Stu Copeland will play their final and last show as the Police in NYC where the band started out 30 years ago. The Police has made a lot of history in New York City as they played a lot of shows when they were just starting out as a band. Their first number of gigs were at no where other than the legendary CBGB’s where the band was made famous. The band started in NYC and they want to end their career in NYC. They didn’t announce a date for the NYC concert just yet.
Their NYC concert will benefit the city’s local public TV stations. They will also work with Mayor Bloomberg for MillionTreesNYC.
It’s too bad that the CBGB’s closed down before their final show, I’m sure the band would have loved to have their final gig at the same venue where they started.
I’m not a fan of the Police anymore, I used to be. But Sting’s singing is too good and profesional that he doesn’t sing like he used to in the Police back in the old days. That’s why I think the Police reunion is crap.
The Police will make a stop at SPAC in Saratoga Springs to open for Elvis Costello this summer, I’m not sure if I’ll go to that or not. Probably not, I don’t go to famous national concerts anymore.
This is pretty fucking hilarious! I laughed hard at this. He seems like a very humorous man in reality.
Still no word on his thoughts about Scarlett Johansson’s album, and I’m sure he’s the first person to hear her album before anyone else. When he starts talking about Scarlett’s music to the media, I will post it.
First they did this with “Ghosts I-IV”, now they’ve released their second studio album of the year titled “The Slip”. “Ghosts I-IV” was just an instrumental album I believe, “The Slip” is an album with vocals.
