Report: Lindelof speaks more on “Dark Tower” movie at MTV News…

Thought this was an interesting read:

I hope they make the “Dark Tower” movie, an action packed film, and hope they stay away from the Roland Gilead and Susan Delgado romance. Which I have a feeling that most of it will be the Roland and Susan pairing.

BREAKING NEWS: J. J. Abrams and Damon Lindelof to work on Stephen King’s “Dark Tower” after completing “Lost” TV series!!!

“Star Trek’s” JJ Abrams drops the huge bomb that he reveals that he scored the rights to Stephen King’s “Dark Tower” series to make them into theaterical films. JJ and his partner Damon Lindelof, said they will not work on “Dark Tower” until they finish the “Lost” hit TV series. No word if JJ Abrams himself will direct the first “Dark Tower” movie, for now they just announced they are moving forward with the film.

JJ said if the first “Dark Tower” film is a successful hit, then they will make the rest of the “Dark Tower” books into live action films as well.

MTV Movies Blog reports:

This is really good news. I’m happy that there is finally news of a “Dark Tower” movie finally happening. I think the director should be no one other than JJ.

I also still stand by that I think they should get Hugh Jackman to play Roland Deschain the Gunslinger. I think Jackman is a perfect fit for that character. It would be insane if JJ doesn’t get him.

Of course, it wouldn’t surprise me if JJ got Chris Pine or Zachary Quinto to play him instead.

Report: Stephen King’s “It” to get a big screen version…

Stephen King’s “It” first came to us for a TV mini series movie, which became a huge hit. “It” will now be getting made into a big screen version, coming soon to a theater near you. Dave Kajganich has been hired to write the script. No director, and no casting has been made as of yet.

The Hollywood Reporter reports:

Very cool. I always thought this film deserved a big screen version. Hope they do a good job with it.

Could Tim Curry return as the evil clown again? That be great if they can get him for this!

Thought: Stephen King better watch out, because Robert Ludlum is about ready to take over his spotlight!!!

Robert Ludlum, an author, seems to be the big thing in the movie business and the video game world. It also seems like Stephen King is no longer in the spotlight in Hollywood anymore. In the past, Hollywood were making movies off of everyone of Stephen King’s novels just about and sometimes video games get made off of his books too. Robert Ludlum, seems to be getting bigger than Stephen King, thanks to the Jason Bourne series.

I’ve never read any Ludlum novels, but it makes me want to start reading some. I think it’s a proven fact that Ludlum will be the next Stephen King of all media. I know Robert Ludlum is dead, but this will be a great honor for him and this is something that he would have of wanted, indeed.

Thought: Maybe Stephen King was just joking about Stephenie Meyer? Maybe we’re not picking up his sarcasm…

After thinking about it a while and after reading Stephen King’s rants about Stephenie again, maybe he’s just joking and fooling around. Maybe he really does respect Stephenie and the work she does, I think we’re not (including me) picking up his sarcasm. He’s always had this weird sense of humor when doing interviews with the media.

If Stephenie wasn’t a good writer, then her books wouldn’t get published at all. I think Stephen knows it. That’s how I think he could possibly be kidding around and making fun of her a bit.

There are hints of sarcasm we’re not picking up in his rants, here, I’ll quote them: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29001524/

“It’s exciting and it’s thrilling and it’s not particularly threatening because it’s not overtly sexual…” – Stephen King on Twilight…and here, ““Both Rowling and Meyer, they’re speaking directly to young people… The real difference is that Jo Rowling is a terrific writer and Stephenie Meyer can’t write worth a darn. She’s not very good.”

As you can see he’s mixing both positive and negative thoughts about Twilight.

Maybe in a few day’s he’ll come out and say, “I’m only kidding when I say Stephenie is a bad writer, I actually love her.”

Report: Stephen King not a fan of Stephenie Meyer, master of horror bashes the “Twilight” author…

Stephen King has read the “Twilight” series by Stephenie Meyer, and get ready for some harsh criticism by the master of horror. King compared both J.K. Rowling and Stephenie Meyer by saying, “Rowling can write, Stephenie can’t”.

Twilight fans, click here to read what Stephen King have to say about Stephenie Meyer, if you dare:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29001524/

As a fan of the “Twilight” series, this is hilarious coming from a guy who hasn’t written a great novel since “The Dark Tower” series and a guy who is no longer a bestselling author, sounds to me that King is a bit jealous of Stephenie’s popularity. Yeah, I’m sure Mr. King would love all the popularity that she’s getting. King should shut his mouth.

Stephenie’s a fantastic writer. He shouldn’t compare her to J.K. Rowling at all ’cause both writers have completely different styles. I’m sure Stephenie maybe a huge fan of Mr. King’s work and I’m sure his harsh critique broke her heart. His writing probably influenced her own writing as well.

Report: Stephen King picks his top ten best films of 2008!!!

Stephen King, the master of horror, has picked his top ten favorite films of 2008. When it comes to Stephen King, you would expect him to see nothing but horror films. Not true, in his list, you would see a variety of genres from action flicks, drama, family films, etc. He seems to be a big fan of Jason Statham, because he listed two Statham flicks in there.

It’s not surprising that he picked “The Dark Knight” as no 1. I agree with him, the movie is not only good just for Heath Ledger’s performance alone, the entire movie itself is a masterpiece.

Stephen King just released “Just After Sunset” novel in bookstores everywhere.

See his list here:

Report: Star Trek/Lost producer speaks on the “Dark Tower” films progress…

The “Star Trek” and “Lost” producer Damon Lindelof won the rights to make the “Dark Tower” novels into major theaterical releases. How is he doing with the films? Damon haven’t even started the first “Dark Tower” movie yet, he is trying to finish the “Lost” TV series and after he’s done with “Lost”, then he will start working on the first “Dark Tower” film.

More on it here:

Like I said before, Hugh Jackman would be a perfect actor to play Roland Deschain the Gungslinger. I can’t see no other actor playing the character and I’m sticking by it. Hope they get him when they start working on the film.

Report: Stephen King delivers “N” animated comics to your mobile cell phones…

At this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego, the festival revealed the big news that Stephen King will publish a new comic book “short story” series with Marvel that will be delivered to your cell phones. A short story comic titled “N”. Starting Monday, 25 episodes of the short story “N” will be delivered to your cell phones 5 times a week until Aug. 29th. Each episode will be two minutes long and the whole story is 54 pages.

A book version of the story will be released in bookstores Nov. 11th. Stephen King has been experimenting with comic books as of late as he always been a fan of comic books. In fact, comic books is what made the man want to become a writer in the first place because when he was a child, he started reading horror comics like “Tales from the Crypt”, “Tales From the Vault”, etc. His first comic book released was “Creepshow” which was later made into a major motion picture.

Now King is releasing the Dark Tower series into comic book versions with Marvel. Soon he will release “The Stand” into comic book versions with Marvel too. While Stephen King himself wasn’t there in person at the San Diego comic con, he was at the New York Comic Con to promote the Dark Tower graphic novels with Marvel.

Stephen’s comic work is great, I read the first Dark Tower graphic novel, I need to get the new one now.

Thought: If there was ever a Dark Tower film…Hugh Jackman would be perfect for Roland Deschain…

Most all Stephen King novels have been made into films, everything from TV mini series to major big screen pictures. While Stephen King movies are still being made to this day, one book series I would like to see get made into big theaterical release films is “The Dark Tower” series. Everytime I read the Dark Tower novels or the graphic Marvel comics of the series, I always picture in my head actor Hugh Jackman playing Roland Deschain the Gunslinger. Hugh Jackman is just a perfect fit for the character, in the 7 novels you’ve seen drawings of Roland and through the comics, if you look at the pictures and compare him to Jackman, you can see they both look almost exactly alike.

If there was ever a Dark Tower film series in the future, I can see no one else playing Roland Deschain but Hugh Jackman. The character seems to belong to Jackman just like Wolverine belongs to him. So anyone in Hollywood out there who plans to do the “Dark Tower” films, I would strongly suggest Jackman in the leading role as Roland Deschain. It would work and the first “Dark Tower” film would be a box office smash if Jackman was in it.

The Dark Tower films need to get made soon. The Dark Tower series are so damn popular that the movies would make the Harry Potter films look bad.
