My final and last Oscar Predictions

Well this is it folks. The moment movie fans have been waiting for. The Oscars are this Sunday, Feb. 22nd. Yes, I will be watching.

Here are my final and last predictions. I know I did this once before but I want to do mine all over again. I will only do the top categories.

My Oscar predictions:

Best Actor in a Leading Role: Mickey Rourke, “The Wrestler”

Best Actor in a Supporting Role: Heath Ledger, “The Dark Knight”

Best Actress in a Leading Role: Two way tie between Kate Winslet, “The Reader”, or Angelina Jolie, “The Changeling”. If I would pick one, it would probably end up being Kate Winslet.

Best Actress in a Supporting Role: Marisa Tomei, “The Wrestler”

Best Animated Featured film: “Wall-E”, hands down.

Best Directing: Danny Boyle, “Slumdog Millionaire”.

Music (Score): Slumdog Millionaire

Music (Song): “Jai Ho” Slumdog Millionaire, this the song played at the end of “Slumdog Millionaire” where Dev Petel and Freida Pinto were dancing with a huge amount of people at a subway station while the credits were rolling. Sorry Peter Gabriel, but I think “Jai Ho” will be the big winner. I’m willing to bet you, Dev and Freida will do a live dance performance on stage at the Oscars for this song as well.

Best Picture: Slumdog Millionaire…this will hands down win “Best Picture” category no matter what happens. I haven’t seen all the movies nominated for “Best Picture”, Slumdog is the only one I’ve seen and I can easily see this film being the big Oscar winner. Slumdog Millionaire is such an incredible, amazing and phenonemal film that I don’t see how anyone can not like this movie. I will definitely be watching this on DVD a lot when it comes out. I still feel kind of bad for Dev Petel not getting nominated for “Best Actor” or Freida Pinto getting snubbed for “Best Actress”, those two were really great in this film and it’s the best acting I’ve seen in years. Not bad for two actors who has never had an acting role in their lives before. 🙂

Well there you have it, my final and last of the Oscar predictions.

Report: Beyonce, Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens confirmed to perform music at the Oscars!!

Oh my, yes, The Oscars turning into the MTV Movie Awards and a Nickelodeon show it may become. The Oscars never used to be for the younger viewers. I am now actually a little scared to watch the Oscars this Sunday!

Even more secrets have been revealed publicily on entertainment sites. Beyonce will sing live at the Oscars Sunday, and so will Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens, both “High School the Musical” stars will also perform.

It’s also rumoured that Miley Cyrus will be part of the Oscars somehow, whether she’s presenting or performing.

I can see why the Academy wants this year’s Oscars to be more for the younger movie fans, since “Slumdog Millionaire” got a lot of nominations. Come to think of it, “Slumdog Millionaire” isn’t a kids movie, it’s R rated. Most of the Best Picture nominations are R rated films. Beware, parents could be protesting the Oscars about promoting R rated films to children.

Report: Jennifer Aniston to present award at the Oscars? John Mayer too?

So, guitarist John Mayer may present an award for “Best Song” category and Jen Aniston might present something in the film categories of the Oscars this Sunday? John and Jen said they are going, so they must be part of the Oscars somehow, although this article didn’t confirm why they are going. They weren’t nominated for anything, so they must be award presenters as well.

Poll: Will Joaquin Phoenix present an award at the Oscars for laughs?

You also gotta wonder if Joaquin Phoenix will present an award for this Sunday’s Oscars. He’ll come out fully bearded, wearing sunglasses, and giving a bizarre speech to present an award. I think it’s a  possibility that he could be there too. It’ll be a way to promote his final film, “Two Lovers” and to help get TV ratings for the Oscars. Plus, it’ll be more footage that he’s filming with Casey Affleck for his documentary.

My choice? I think he’ll be there too knowing that he does have a lot of history at the Oscars.

Confirmed: Zac Efron will present an award at the Oscars!!

“High School the Musical” star Zac Efron has also been confirmed to present award at the Oscars. What? Is the Oscars starting to be more like the MTV Movie Awards? I think that’s where the Oscars is heading in that direction this year. They want this year’s show to be more viewable for the younger viewers.

So much for keeping award presenters top secret. I think the members of the Academy branch have been, bad, bad, bad ,bad, for telling their close friends about award presenters. Maybe that’s how the media is picking up the news. From close sources of people who knows certain folks who work for the Academy.

Confirmed: Robert Pattinson, “Twilight” star to present award at the Oscars this Sunday…

Look like all the “Twilight” fans will be tuning in to the Oscars this Sunday, just to see Robert Pattison present an award at this Sunday’s Academy awards. While the Academy is doing their best to keep award presenters top secret, it is still not stopping other websites to confirm award presenters. This article confirmed that the Edward Cullen star will indeed be there to present some kind of award  but it’s not known what award he will present.

Rumours swirling, that Kristen Stewart may be there too.

I can see him presenting an award for “Best Animated Film”, or for “Best Song” or something like that.

The Oscars will be good this Sunday.

Oscar history #14: Angelina Jolie wins for Best Supporting Actress for “Girl, Interupted”…

Angelina Jolie’s first Oscar award winning for her supporting role as Lisa Rowe, in the movie, “Girl, Interupted”. It is another one of my favorite movies of all times. The quality of this video isn’t very good but it’s the only one I could find in youtube of Angie winning an Oscar for the first time. You can still hear it and see it though.
