Why a 3rd Conan movie with Arnold would work…

This is a great time to make a new Conan the Barbarian movie, with Arnold back as the character. Why? Because around the time, “Conan the Barbarian”, and “Conan, the Destroyer” were made in the 80’s, they didn’t really have the greatest technology back then. Imagine what Hollywood could do with a Conan movie with Arnold, with today’s technology, they have now? Yes, I’m sure “The Legend of Conan”, the third movie, will be a big action movie. I’m also sure it will be a huge special effects movie with quite a bit of CGI.

Some people may think that Arnold as Conan again because of his age wouldn’t work, but I’m sure the writers would find a way to make it work. Hence, the title, “The Legend of Conan”. Sounds like they’re going for the direction of an aging hero looking back at his past. Maybe they’ll make him King or something? Would make more sense. Even Arnold would be too old to be half naked swinging a sword around, I’m sure Arnold himself would agree with that. I’m sure the film crew will find Conan, some appropriate clothing that will cover up his upper body. Clothing that will fit the, Hyborian Age (the fictional period that Conan is set in).

A third Conan movie was supposed to happen a long time ago but it couldn’t because of Arnold being Governor back in the day. That’s why they had to do the Conan reboot with Jason Momoa. It might be hard to make a successful Conan movie with Arnold in today’s Hollywood of movies, though, so I wish them luck. The script needs to be really good and perfect, if they want people to take it seriously. I’m sure they will get Arnold into sword fighting action in the upcoming Conan flick, of course. Arnold knows the Conan character better than anybody, so I’m sure, he can still play the role well with no problem.

It’s going to be interesting to see how they are going to make this film. Now lets see if Arnold will be game to playing the Terminator, for one last time! I’m sure he will.

The Brock’s Horror Film Pick #25: The Mothman Prophecies

I hate Richard Gere, as an actor, but he was actually really good in this one! This was the only film I liked with him in it. Richard Gere, plays a reporter named John Klein, who investigates the mysteries behind the legend called, the Mothman, after being involved in a car wreck that killed his wife. Based on real life events in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. If you want a gripping horror/thriller, that will keep you hooked throughout the entire film, see this one. This film has an Alfrred Hitchcock kind of feeling. It’s a true horror film that has no gore or murders. It really is a scary as hell flick, that will leave you pretty hooked. This is a great film. “The Mothman Prophecies” is another Netflix streamable movie, so if you haven’t seen it yet, definitely see this one. I plan on re-watching this soon for Halloween. I already have it on DVD so I don’t need to watch it on Netflix.

Report: Arnold set to play Conan again? Seems like it’s for real…

Now that Arnold is done with the governor thing for good, he has been keeping himself busy with movie roles again. Look like Arnold is game for playing, Conan, for one more time. Universal Studios, is moving forward with, “The Legend of Conan”, and Arnold has been confirmed to reprise his role as Conan, in which that is one of his characters that he is most famous for, other than, the Terminator. I’m down for Arnold playing, Conan, again. As a matter of fact, the original movies were supposed to continue has a big franchise, but they stopped for a while since the second movie, “Conan, The Destroyer”, didn’t do well.

I know people are going to laugh at Arnold, accusing him of being too old for the role, blah blah blah, but Sylvester Stallone played Rocky and Rambo for one last time. Sly is still doing action movies with, The Expendables. If he can do it, so can Arnie. Arnie seems to be doing action movies well still, with the Expendables and “The Last Stand”. I’m sure Arnold has plenty of other action movies on the way, so why not?

Arnold may not be in the best of shape to be half naked, swinging a sword around, but I’m sure Arnie can get himself in top shape again before the movie. He may not be able to get back in top shape again like he was back in the 80’s, but I’m sure he’ll find a way to look buff enough in time for the Conan role. Arnold’s the fitness expert, he has plenty of time to get all jacked up in time before filming begins. They still have a long while to go to start filming. I’m all for another Conan movie with Arnold, ’cause the reboot film with Jason Momoa, kinda sucked. The original Conan deserves to be a trilogy.

Book Review: “Waging Heavy Peace” by Neil Young

Neil Young, a famous musician and singer/songwriter, is someone who I’ve always respected for years. He is a huge inspiration for my own music and he is one of my musical heroes. I have 13 of his albums in my collection and counting. I’m trying to collect his entire album collection as much as possible. In this memoir, “Waging Heavy Peace”, he wants to give fans a closer look at his personal life and musical career. One thing to keep in mind though, that this book wasn’t written as an autobiography. It was written like a diary. When you read this book, you’ll immediately feel like that Neil Young is sitting right there, talking to you. That’s what I felt like. I felt like I was in a long conversation with Neil Young. The book really doesn’t start from his childhood to now like most memoirs are. This memoir is different.

Neil talked about his family life, his children and how he met his wife, Pegi. He talked about being sick with Polio back when he was a child and how hard it was to go through all that. Of course, what interested me the most was all the music stuff. He talked about all the stuff with one of his first bands, The Squires. He talked about Buffalo Springfield, CSNY, and of course, he talked a lot about his solo career. Yes, he talked a lot about  his rock band, Crazy Horse too.

While all that stuff was good, the main focus of the book, was how Neil is about to change the world with digital music. With the likes of Ipod, and Itunes, he talked about how today’s sound in mp3 is horrible. He explains when music from the master recording is converted into mp3 or Compact Disc, the sound quality loses quite a bit of sound from it’s original recording. Neil is not bashing or hating today’s music industry, just the sound quality. I totally agree with him! The sound quality of digital music with Ipods and online streaming services like Spotify, Rhapsody, IHeartRadio, etc. have bad sound quality. The main focus of the book, is that Neil is about ready to go to war with Itunes about all of this. Soon he will launch a special mp3 player called, Pono, (which was first introduced on David Letterman). Pono, is supposed to have the best sound quality of music, where it won’t lose the sound from the original recording. You know how vinyl’s have the best sound quality? Well, that’s how Neil wants today’s digital music to sound. Neil wants to change the sound quality of today’s music to make everyone happy. I like Itunes and online streaming services myself, I agree we could use a change in digital sound.

Not only that Neil wants to change the world with digital sound, he wants to change the car industry around too. Other than music, Neil has a strong passion and love for cars. He collected a lot of them over the years. He’s been working on a car project, called LincVolt. In 2010, the car was destroyed by fire, and the car is currently being rebuilt, to make it even better.

Neil’s other passion besides music and cars, is making movies. Neil has made quite a bit of films over the years. He has made all those music videos himself, most of ’em.

This was a very interesting book. Probably, the most honest one I’ve ever read. Neil is a pretty honest and a real guy. Although, he is very friendly and has a good sense of humor. He did talk about Jimmy Fallon pretending to be him on his late night show, and talked a lot about the huge “Conan O’ Brien vs. Jay Leno” feud. Neil was a big part of that drama, since he played on the last episode that Conan was on NBC.

If you like Neil Young or if you’re just a music fan, you should read this. Pretty insightful read. I’m a big Neil Young fanatic and proud of it!

What if Obama really was Kenyan born???

Tons of people on facebook and everywhere else, wants to believe that Obama was US born. Well, that’s what Obama wants you to believe. The reason a lot of people still believe that he is really US born ’cause they believe what they saw on Obama’s long form birth certificate, after he revealed it last year. People online already making predictions that Obama will not respond to Donald’s request. They also think Obama has nothing to prove.

The question is, what if, I’m not saying he is, but what if he really was Kenyan born? Maybe he really is an African natural? What if he admits to it before Wednesday? What’s gonna happen? Here’s what I think is gonna happen…

1) All the people who believed he was US born will feel disappointed, and dumbfounded.
2) Barack will lose a lot of respect from people, especially from the voters and other politicians who endorsed him.
3) This is going to give Obama an immediate impeachment, and possibly be charged with treason.
4) This will make Romney win, no matter what.

This needs to be looked into, why can’t you all understand that? You can’t just have a possible immigrant being president, serving another 4 years, and you can’t go thinking that’s okay to do. It’s not. Too many people are misinformed about, all of this. An alien from another country as president is unconstitutional, why can’t people understand that? I notice that the Obama supporters are going nuts over this ’cause they hate hearing the truth that he maybe, an immigrant.

Nobody’s saying he’s definitely an immigrant, we’re just questioning him.

All presidents and other candidates from the past have released their college transcripts and passports public, however, Barack has never done this yet. So you ask, people have been onto Barack about this for years, move on and leave him alone? True, we should move on, but the reason people are still busting on him ’cause he hasn’t really given any real proof yet. If Barack O’ can really prove that he was born in the US, then we would move on and leave him alone. If he really is a Kenyan, then uh oh, not so good.

I don’t mean to talk about this so much ’cause this stuff has been all over the web all day, thanks to the Donald. I agree with what Donald is doing, and I predict that Barack O’, will take upon his request. It’s not that hard to do. I don’t see why he wouldn’t. My last post about this for now. I’ll get back to talking about the entertainment industry, next post.

The Donald’s announcement on Obama wasn’t a big waste of time, we really need to know about his past…

A lot of people are saying that the Donald’s announcement was a big waste of time. In my eyes, it is not. We really need to know whether or not President Obama really was born in the U.S. During Donald Trump’s announcement in that video and his press release, he never said anything about Obama not being born in the US. The Donald didn’t accuse Obama of anything, this time. Watch it again, he never said anything like, “I’m pretty sure Obama wasn’t born here”. All it was, it was just a simple request, his college documents and passport information. The Donald wants Obama to release that stuff publicly. I mean, when you’re president, each president needs to prove that they are really US born and pretty much all of them from the past did. Obama refuses to show these things. Yes, he showed his long term birth certificate, but you can’t really trust it. We need more information.

The Donald, is just like the rest of us. He cares for the American people and loves this country. He just wants the truth, whether or not Obama was actually born here. How wrong would it be that an actual immigrant is President for a full 8 year term? That would be disrespectful to the Constitution. It would be wrong and not good for America. People think Donald is just an attention whore, but in my eyes, he is not. He wants what’s best for the American people, and he feels we don’t need to deal with Obama’s lies and his untrustworthy behavior. Just like he said in the announcement, we don’t really know much about Obama’s life, even though we think we do. It would do a good service for this country, if Obama would do as the Donald, requested.

Again, Obama, may have shown his long term birth certificate, I believe The Donald just wants verification if it was legit. Just to make sure. If those other documents proves that Obama was really Kenyan born, then Obama would be screwed hard. In The Donald’s announcement, he never said anything hateful or mean to him this time. It was just a friendly request, that’s all. If it turns out that Obama really was American born, then I’m sure the Donald and the American people would understand and move on from this. If Obama is an immigrant serving a full 8 year term as President, it would do nothing but inspire other immigrant candidates to do the same thing. Hide your personal information just so you can run. That’s why this needs to get stopped, before others think it’s okay to do.

If people really believe that Obama is US born, then they’re really delusional and need a reality check. Again, I can’t wait to see what happens. What will come out of this, if Obama will do it or not. If Obama refuses, I don’t see the Donald suing him, honestly. The Donald will just keep pressuring Obama about it, by offering him even bigger deals. The Donald is not gonna stop until the truth about Obama comes out, whether he is American born or not.

We deserve to know the truth, folks. That’s what it’s all about. The truth is bound to come out at some point. Obama will not be able to hide his personal information forever.

About Gary Clark Jr.’s “Blak and Blu”… don’t think I’m getting the album…

I just went on the Itunes store just to browse a little bit, so I decided to listen to the previews of Gary Clark Jr.’s album, “Blak & Blu”. To be honest, it’s not my cup of tea, so I’m not going to be getting it. There’s a few rockin’ blues tunes with great guitar playing on the album, but from what I heard, most of it sounds like pop and R&B music. Disappointing. That’s what a talented indie artist got when they jump into the major label market. They would get turned into mainstream pop artists. Sad.

While I do like Itunes and Apple, I can’t stand most of today’s music in their music store. I don’t really like how today’s music industry is. It all turned to shit. I can’t even get into Mumford & Sons. I’ll talk about my feelings on today’s music industry in another topic. It’s getting worse and worse each year.

Cool Video: The Pistol Annies, “Hell On Heels”… I’m not into country much but this is a great tune…

I’m sure some of you have heard of the Pistol Annies, a country group, and I’m sure you’ve heard this song, “Hell On Heels” many times. I’ve never heard of this group at all until I’ve read about them in Neil Young’s book, “Waging Heavy Peace”. Toward the end of the book, Neil was praising the hell out of them, saying how great they were. So I had to give a listen myself, and he was right. They are great. Three hot ladies, who know how to write good songs and sing great vocal harmonies. I’m going to listen to a few more songs by them, and if I like their tunes enough, I might even get this album. I’m not a country music fan. I used to like some of it but the genre is not my cup of tea anymore. I will always love Johnny Cash, Patsy Cline, Clint Black, and Hank Williams Sr., though. They will always be my favorite country artists.

Cool Video: The high quality version of “Evil Dead” trailer is here!

This was pretty much the same trailer they showed at, NYCC. Now it’s in glorious, HD!

While I still prefer, “Evil Dead 4”, with Bruce Campbell as Ash, the remake will do, I guess! The remake looks surprisingly great. Only thing missing though, that it needs the trees that attacks people, like the first one. Maybe the possessed trees are in the remake, they just haven’t shown them in the trailer, as a way to keep surprises. The Evil Dead remake looks pretty good, I’ll probably go see it.

The Brock’s Horror Film Pick #24: An American Werewolf In London

Time to put another classic in here! “An American Werewolf In London”, probably the best werewolf movie ever made, in my opinion. The film was written and directed by, John Landis. It’s a mix of horror, comedy, and a love story. The film is about two American men who tour in Britain, they were attacked by a werewolf, and the local people refuses to believe that such a thing exists. Of course, one of the men, David, gets turned into a werewolf himself. This movie can be funny and scary both at the same time. Some of the movie can get disturbing though, if you’re watching it for the first time. It’s another classic, I’ll never get bored of watching. Especially that classic scene where you get to witness David turning into a werewolf in his living room. I believe this film is Netflix streamable as well. So if you’re one of those who had never seen it before, you should check it out.
