I'm a musician, singer/songwriter, blogger, writer, poet, bodybuilder, movie lover, music lover, video gamer, history/political buff, conservative/republican, etc. I like to do a lot of things.
I’m not a big Romney fan, but I’m voting for him anyway just to help get rid of Obama, but Romney, just got a little tiny bit of respect from me after his announcement of his choice for VP running mate. Paul Ryan is a cool guy and a good politician. I think that’s good enough to make me want to vote for Romney. Paul Ryan seems to be great at economics and knows what he’s doing. He could teach Romney a lot.
So everyone is talking about “Jillian’s” of Albany closing down. Everywhere I go lately, people are talking about it, on and off the computer. I’m sure you’re wondering about my thoughts on this. Quite honestly, I’m not surprised. Venues and clubs come and go around here. That’s how it always been in the Capital District. I may have been to Jillians like once or twice in my life, but honestly, my experiences there wasn’t very good. I pretty much hated being there, and thought the place was a shit hole, no offense, just an opinion.
Even the owner somewhat admitted it saying that “people are afraid to go there” and “lost customers”. People claimed it closed down ’cause of violence on Pearl St, but I don’t see how. There has to be a reason people stopped going there, right?
This just goes to show that the music scene is fading. No places to play anymore. Which is one of the reasons why I haven’t gigged out in a while.

Edit to add: Btw, I’m not trying to do any hating or trolling, just keeping it real. So no offense to the owner or anyone else that support it.
Today, I just purchased her albums, “Epic” and “Tramp” from Itunes. Both of those albums are amazing. She really is a special songwriter and I’m becoming obsessed with her music. I’ll give these two albums a few more listens and then I’ll give them a full detailed review. You don’t hear much great music in today’s industry, but Sharon’s got something going. I have a feeling that she’s going to become a huge mainstream artist pretty quickly. She’s just an independent artist right now but the major labels will be all over her. I hope she doesn’t go mainstream, ’cause the major studios will make her write “pop” songs. I like her being independent ’cause she has her own creativity and control. She really is an incredible artist, and I would recommend you to get her albums.
In honor of Whitney’s birthday today, I thought I would repost my tribute video of her. Honestly, I didn’t think people would actually like this at all. People started passing it around everywhere in facebook as soon as I posted this and it was mind blowing to me. That never happened with me before in my music. People giving it positive feedback and lots of thumbs up. Crazy.
I wish all of my music would get great feedback like that and I’ll keep doing my best to keep people happy with my songs. That’s my goal with my music. I want people to take me seriously as a musician and to actually enjoy my stuff like most musicians.
To those who missed it, or if you want to see it again. Enjoy.
I’ve talked about the topic of Mars before on my site. A lot of people mistakenly believe that it would be pretty easy for NASA to travel to Mars and have a human being step on Mars safely, without any harm and successfully leave the planet after exploring it. If you think it’s easy, why don’t you try it. Go to MARS yourself and step on the planet, I’m positive you would be dead in a flash
I can think of several reasons why Mars would be a dangerous planet, and why it would take years and years of investigation for a human being to successfully step on Mars for the first time.
The planet could either be cold or hot at the same time – Yeah, I know that the further a planet is away from the sun the colder it gets, but Mars sounds like it may be pretty hot at times too since the planet could be volcanic. There has been lava flow sightings on the planet before as I said.
The planet could have dangerous dust storms – The planet is very dusty and dirty, there’s very strong winds on the planet at times, which I bet a human being couldn’t handle no matter what kind of astronaut suit you wear.
There could be aliens on the planet – You may say there’s no such thing but there could be lifeforms on the planet. You may never know what’s around.
Mars has a pretty thin atmosphere – There you go, here’s the big reason why it would be impossible to make it on Mars. It’s said that it’s full of methane which could be dangerous for human, could cause asphyxiation.
Radiation – That’s another big one, the cosmic rays. I read that could give humans cancer.
Food and Shelter – How is NASA going to survive without food and shelter on MARS? That maybe pretty risky if you think about it.
The air may not be safe to breathe, not enough for a human to take – I’m sure NASA would build a breathe-able enough suit where you can survive on Mars, but still pretty risky.
I can go on people. If you think it’s easy for NASA to send someone over to step on Mars, then you’re delusional. It would probably happen someday, yes, like I said, but it won’t happen anytime soon. It’ll probably happen in 2030 or later. In my opinion, we don’t have the technology to do it right now.
It’s not easy as some of you think it is. I would like it to happen yes, it would be wonderful. I’m sure other planets in our solar system are just as dangerous too. Just wanted to give you a bit of a reality check.
The surviving members of the Monkees: Mickey Dolenz, Mike Nesmith, and Peter Tork, will go on a 12 date tour, without the late, Davey Jones. I’m sure the rest of the guys are doing this in honor of Davey ’cause this is what Davey would have wanted, for those guys to continue on with the Monkees. I think it would be pretty cool to see them. I’ve always been a Monkees fan myself.
I just had to post this story ’cause I felt it was pretty interesting to me. Three Russian women who are members of the Russian punk rock feminist band, Pussy Riot, was arrested for putting on a performance, dancing and singing a song, about putting an end to Vladmir Putin’s presidency. They were charged with hooliganism motivated by religious hatred, which carries a maximum sentence of 7 years in prison.
Madonna and Pete Townshend, continues to support them and says they should be freed. Their verdict will be read, Aug. 17th, which is next week.
I don’t know much about Vladmir Putin and why these girls are trying to end his presidency, but I must say this that these girls have every right to be doing what they’re doing. They have every right to end the presidency of Vladmir Putin just like us Americans are trying to end the presidency of President Obama. So yeah, for once, I agree with everyone else. Free, Pussy Riot.
I must say that these girls have a lot of balls to be doing what they’re doing. Do whatever it takes to get your points across, even if it means, getting arrested.
Since Christopher Nolan is done with superhero films, Warner Bros. is eyeing “The Town” director, Ben Affleck, to helm, “The Justice League” film. WB’s didn’t ask Affleck yet, but they are planning on it. Affleck is known to giving himself an acting role to the movies he directs, so I’m sure he will play a character, in the “Justice League” film. Affleck would make a good Flash, or maybe Aqua Man. I hope he’ll be down for this ’cause this would be a huge opportunity for him and he could finally get recognized for his talent.
He has superhero movie experience. Remember now, he was in the “Daredevil” movie.
Back in Feb., country legend, Randy Travis was arrested in Sanger, Texas, after being spotted in a vehicle in front a church. In his last mugshot, he was smiling in the pic. Well this time, Travis was arrested in Dallas, after a car crash. Drunk, of course. He was naked and was threatening police officers. Look at his new mugshot above? He’s not smiling anymore isn’t he? LOL!
He’s obviously in an emotional wreck since his divorce with his wife, which could explain his problems. This is nothing new with Randy. I think I said it in a post before, if you do your research, Randy had personal troubles in his younger years.
Fame and fortune will even get at country stars.
I was never a big Randy Travis fan but I heard plenty of his songs, over the years. Mostly the hits on country radio.
Last week, the Academy wanted Jimmy Fallon to host the Oscars in 2013, but ABC was kind of skeptical about it at first because they were a station who aired “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and they were competing against, Fallon’s “Late Night Show”. Even though it looks that negotiations between ABC and NBC may be on good terms now, turns out that Jimmy Fallon doesn’t want to host the Oscars anyway, even if he was offered. Jimmy confirmed the news on the Today Show. He said 2013 wasn’t the right time for him.
While it’s a bummer he turned it down ’cause he would make an entertaining host, I give him kudos for his honesty. I hope the Oscars will find a good host, next year. Anybody but Billy Crystal or Steve Martin. They hosted the Oscars enough times.
I know the Oscars are trying very hard to get a good host but seems everyone turns them down: Hugh Jackman, Russell Brand, Eddie Murphy, etc.
I’d like to see Ricky Gervais get it in 2013 ’cause he seems to be doing a good job with the Golden Globes, plus the guy is funny as hell.
