Report: The Boxmasters cancels Canadian tour with Willie Nelson after getting booed in Toronto…

Willie Nelson broke the news on his official website that the Boxmasters have cancelled the rest of their Canadian tour after the band getting booed at a concert in Toronto. Willie Nelson’s website doesn’t even know the reason the Boxmasters cancelled the tour, but Willie will continue the tour without Billy Bob’s band.

From Willie Nelson’s site:

Don’t Canadians have a sense of humor? Unfortunately not. They seem to hate Americans for some reason.

Cool Video: Here is proof that the QTV Billy Bob interview was faked and scripted…

Check out this older Boxmasters interview in a different radio station. In this radio interview with Billy Bob Thornton, Billy Bob is much nicer, friendly and more profesional acting in this one. Billy Bob is even smiling and joking around, laughing and stuff in this interview.

So his interview with QTV is definitely faked and scripted, Billy Bob was acting in that QTV interview. I think that QTV footage will be used for Joaquin Phoenix’s documentary movie with other celebrities impersonating him like Billy Bob at QTV and Ben Stiller at the Oscars are the ones spoofing, Joaquin so far.

I think people hating on Billy Bob for his QTV interview doesn’t have a sense of humor and taking things way too seriously. I thought his QTV interview was hilarious. People just don’t understand Billy Bob’s weird sense of humor. He’s just a really strange guy. Billy Bob has always been like this, so why do people find Billy Bob’s QTV interview a surprise?

See the old interview of Billy Bob being all nice and friendly in this video here.

Report: Dave Mustaine says upcoming Megadeth tour will squash potential fued with other band…

Dave Mustaine, the leading man of Megadeth, says his band is about to go on a tour that will end a long feud with another band for good. He refuses to say what band it is now but he plans to announce the news on Megadeth.com soon.

Blabbermouth reports:

http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=117897

Many users in the Blabbermouth comments are guessing all kinds of bands like Slayer, Metal Church, Suicidal Tendecies, Down, etc.

I think it’s obvious it’s going to be Metallica. Metallica and Megadeth to do North American tour? Man, if Metallica and Megadeth shared the gig at the Times Union Center Nov. 12th, I would fucking shit myself, that would be fuckin’ amazing!

Is it possible that Metallica and Megadeth finally set their differences aside, and acting like brothers now? Only time will tell and we’ll find out soon.

Notice that Metallica has not yet announced an opener for their North America tour, could it actually be Megadeth? It’s possible. We’ll have to wait and find out.

Report: Trent Reznor of NIN begs famous bands/artists on major labels to drop out of them…

The Nine Inch Nails has been an unsigned band since dropping out of major labels in 2007. The band has been finding other ways to release music instead of releasing albums on CD. They’ve been releasing their music through the internet and stuff like that.

Read this interesting article, Trent admits that the Nine Inch Nails becoming a major label band was the biggest mistake in his life and his band’s career.

http://www.contactmusic.com/news.nsf/article/reznor%20urges%20musicians%20to%20ditch%20labels_1099985

While I agree with Trent, I don’t think today’s major label acts in the mainstream will ever drop out of major labels. Do you think acts like Metallica, Ac/Dc or U2 would drop out of them to go back to an  unsigned band? No. They won’t because they are too addicted and obsessed with the fame and the money.

Like Trent said you don’t need a label to put out records and to make money.

There are ways of becoming a successful band without a label. The Smashing Pumpkins has dropped the major labels and they just release records independently. Indie labels are fine, but the major ones you don’t need.

You can have a good music career, without agents, A&R reps, record producers, etc. getting in your face all the time. Do everything yourself like Trent Reznor does. Fuck the major labels.

5 important bands/artists that deserve their own “Guitar Hero” game…

Metallica and Aerosmith, already have their own Guitar Hero game. What musical acts will get their own Guitar Hero in the future? Here are my picks that deserve their own Guitar Hero game.

Ozzy

(I think Guitar Hero franchise needs to make one for Ozzy. So music fans can be introduced to the music of Ozzy’s solo stuff and Black Sabbath. I think this game will sell big if they made one. Imagine how cool would it be to play along to your favorite Ozzy guitar heroes: Randy Rhoads, Jake E. Lee, Zakk Wylde, Tony Iommi, etc. This would be a badass game if they made one for Ozzy and I would buy it if they did)

Led Zeppelin

(The band said, they would never have their music for video games. Who knows. Never say never, maybe Jimmy Page will one day have a change of heart with music video games and may one day decide to do Guitar Hero after all…here’s hoping…)

Jimi Hendrix

(I think it’s obvious that everyone is expecting Jimi Hendrix to get his own Guitar Hero game one day…I think it’ll happen…)

Nirvana

(Nirvana really needs one. Will Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl one day get together to put together a Nirvana, Guitar Hero game? This is another one I would buy if they did one…)

The Grateful Dead

(Some may disagree with this, but I think it would be freakin’ cool if Guitar Hero did a Grateful Dead game. Imagine playing Jerry Garcia as a video game character…playing along to songs like “Ripple”, “Friend of the Devil”, “American Beauty”, “Truckin'”, “Touch of Grey”, “Hell in a Bucket”, “Casey Jones”, etc. This game would be great for the hippies and the jam band fans…)

Cool Video: Billy Bob Thornton’s bizarre interview with the Boxmasters on QTV radio…

Is Billy Bob Thornton spoofing Joaquin Phoenix? That’s what it’s looking like to me. I know Billy Bob is much friendlier and more profesional in interviews than this. I think Billy Bob is clearly acting in this interview.

Check out this hilarious and bizarre interview with Billy Bob and his band the Boxmasters here. Funny shit. Billy Bob has always been a strange guy.

Report: Eddie Vedder to play two solo shows at “The Palace Theater” in Albany, N.Y. this summer…

Eddie Vedder, the Pearl Jam frontman, just unleashed tour dates for his solo tour. Vedder will kick off his solo tour in Albany, N.Y. at the Palace Theater, June 8th and 9th. Does this mean that Vedder will be spending the night in Albany that weekend? Looks it.

What will Vedder play in his solo tour? Probably the usual stuff…songs from the “Into the Wild” movie, a bunch of Pearl Jam songs acoustically, and covers of other bands/artists songs. Maybe Eddie will throw in some new and rare stuff as well.

Billboard reports:

Another concert I’m interested in going to, I’ll think about this one.

The thing about music fans…obsession with music artists…

I’ve had this discussion before. Pretty much a long time ago, but I’m going to bring it up again. There is one thing that I never understood about music fans in the music world whether it’s in the unsigned or national music industry. I have always found it weird how people have this strange obsession with music artists and bands.

I can tell you one  thing, that when it comes to music, I am a realist. It seems that when you tell the truth about certain music artists and bands, it seems to upset the public and they’ll get all defensive about things. For example, if you call out a band for their egostitical attitudes or dishonesty about things, their fans don’t seem to see it.

Fans will stick by their favorite band’s side no matter what happens to them, 100%. I mean, these fans don’t give a shit if these bands are criminals or liars, hypocrites, delusional people with a huge ego, drug addicts, alcoholics, etc. It seems to me that these fans are so obsessed with their music, that they don’t care what they do outside of that.

As a fan of music, there are lots of artists and bands that I enjoy, but I am not going to back them up everything they do 100%. I am not fan obsessive. There are things that Led Zeppelin did in their careers I disagree with, the same for Metallica, U2 also, even Ac/Dc, and I can go on. I may enjoy music artists, but I’m  not afraid to say that every band I like had their share of making some of the crappiest music I ever heard. If you’re a fan of a band, that does not mean you have to like all the music they do just to be polite to them.

I am a huge fan of Joe Satriani, he is a hero of mine, but I don’t like his plan on suing Coldplay accusing them of ripping off a song of his. I don’t agree with Joe Satch’s actions at all. I don’t have to stick by his side ’cause I’m a fan of his music.

There are still fans defending Chris Brown ’cause they are fans of his music. The same with Rihanna, fans are sticking up for her.

There is nothing wrong with liking all of a band’s music and defending everything they do, sure, it’s a free country. Nothing wrong with being a die hard fan, because I am a die hard fan of some bands and artists myself, either local or national, but I don’t have to stick by everything they do.

Getting a reality check with music is what counts. Of course, people don’t even know what that is around here.

The point of this post is, just because you’re a fan of a band does not mean you have to be supportive of them all of the time.

It’s the same thing with local bands around the Albany area. I may enjoy certain bands music and be a fan of their work, but I’m not afraid to call out their unprofesionalism and their actions at shows in the music scene or how they treat other musicians on the internet. I may enjoy their music, but that does not mean I have to like the musicians as a person. It’s all about honesty and being a realist. I mean, whenever I’m brutally honest and go on a rant about the music scene, people will defend it.

It just puzzles me how people don’t face reality with bands out there. Fans will be positive and friendly about their favorite band, no matter what. I don’t have to be like that, and you don’t either.

Report: Coldplay defends “Viva La Vida” in court, says Joe Satch’s song shouldn’t receive copyright protection…

Coldplay is fighting Joe Satriani in Federal Court today. Chris Martin and the guys in Coldplay are attending Federal Court, it seems that Joe Satriani himself isn’t there. Satch’s lawyer, Howard E. King, is doing the battling for him.

Coldplay denies “similarities” between the songs, “Viva La Vida” and, “If I Could Fly”, and says that the two songs weren’t enough to warrant damages. Which I agree with. Coldplay also says that Satriani’s song lacks, “originality” and shouldn’t receive copyright protection. Is Coldplay accusing Joe of ripping off the band?

I actually agree with the band, Coldplay, that the two songs sound nothing like each other. Those that think they do sound similar, aren’t very smart and intelligent about music. I think everybody sticks by Joe Satriani’s side, because he isn’t a mainstream musician like Coldplay is.

Joe Satriani has no case, and has no way to prove that Coldplay ripped him off. And why isn’t Joe Satriani himself isn’t attending court in person? If he’s that desperate to win this battle, do you think he’d be there too? Unfortunately, he isn’t. The reason he isn’t there because Joe knows he’s going to lose this battle. Joe attacked Coldplay for publicity, hoping that will help make the Satch a mainstream artist.

I’m not defending Coldplay, not to be a fan, although I am a fan of Coldplay’s music, that’s not the reason I’m defending them. The reason I’m defending Coldplay is that it’s about being real and honest. If I was in the jury of that federal court battle, I would have done anything it took to prove Coldplay innocent to the other jury members.

Coldplay is going to win this battle, all the way. Sorry, Satch, but your ego isn’t going anywhere.
