Report: “The Expendables” panel at San Diego Comic Con details!

The official “Expendables” facebook page revealed some more info at the “Expendables” panel at this year’s San Diego Comic Con.

Yes, as expected Sly of course, will be there. He willl show exclusive scenes from the movie. Also, cast members: Dolph Lundgren, Steve Austin, Randy Couture, and Terry Crews will be there.

More on it here:

Very nice! Wish I can go!

Arnold and Bruce weren’t listed as guests, but who knows, maybe Sly will surprise the audience and bring out, Arnold and Bruce. Maybe there is a reason they weren’t listed? Never know, the Comic Con is always full of unexpected surprises. You just never know what they will reveal at these conventions!

I can’t wait to see the movie in August!

Happy late Birthday, by the way Sly! Sylvester Stallone turned 64 on July 6 last Tuesday!

Report: The Expendables is part of lineup for this year’s San Diego Comic Con…

“The Expendables” will be part of this year’s San Diego Comic Con convention. The San Diego Comic Con is a yearly convention that helps market big movies and this year “The Expendables” will have their own panel.

More on it here:

Sylvester Stallone himself will probably be there. Maybe he will show a few exclusive scenes from the “Expendables” movie at Comic Con, that would probably happen. Other than Sly, I’m sure he will bring along a few other cast members from the movie to help promote the film. Maybe Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Stone Cold, and Jet Li will be there. Hell, maybe even Bruce and Arnold will be there too if Sly can get ’em.

I can’t wait to see what Sly has planned for this at San Diego Comic Con. Will be exciting!

To those who thought “The Dapper Don” was an evil man…read up…

After doing more research on the “Dapper Don’s” history, I’m beggining to see, that John Gotti Sr. wasn’t that bad of a guy as everyone thinks he is. People online are treating him as a vicious serial killer. As in “evil”…but was he really all that evil?

Read and learn:

http://crime.about.com/od/gangsters/a/johngotti.htm

He may have committed crimes most of his life but they weren’t really serious crimes, mostly burglaries, hijacking, and all that little stuff. He only murdered two people. Paul Castellano and Thomas Billoti. The only reason they were killed, ’cause they were bosses of the Gambino family and Gotti wanted to take over. If you look up the wikipedia’s of Castellano and Billoti, you can see that those two guys were dangerous animals. In reality, Gotti “The Dapper Don” wasn’t really all that bad.

Maybe that’s what Sly wants to prove in the film.

Thought: In defense of Stallone’s “John Gotti” biopic…

This movie that Sly and Junior Gotti is planning is getting a lot of negative critique by reader comments in other film blogs. No surprise to me, ’cause Sly Stallone always gets mixed opinions with his movies. I’m going to take some time to defend this movie.

You see, I know Sylvester Stallone has acting talent. It’s very rare that he brings out his acting talent. The only two films that he showed his true acting talent were the first “Rocky” and the movie “Cop Land”, which were his two best performances. He just does action films for entertainment instead of showing his acting talent if you know what I mean by that. With this “Dapper Don” film he has planned, I really think this will be Sly’s third chance to bring out his acting talent again. If Sly does a good job with this movie, he could possibly land himself in the Oscars again (the first Rocky won best picture). Maybe even get nominated for Best Actor, Best Director or Best writer, who knows. I just want Sly to pick the right movie where he can show his true acting talent again. I think the John Gotti movie is the right choice. Also, I don’t think this John Gotti movie is going to be an action film. Looks like it’s going to be a mob drama. Kind of like the Godfather, the Departed, Scarface, etc.

I’m a really huge fan of mobster flicks. I FUCKING LOVE THEM! I’m glad Sly is finally doing one. You ask, why does it have to be John Gotti when it should be Al Capone instead? Do we really need another Al Capone movie? There are hundreds of Al Capone movies out there and I don’t think we need another one. On top of that, Sly already starred in an Al Capone movie, called, “Capone” made back in 1975.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capone_(film)

Honestly, John Gotti hasn’t had a biopic film yet, and I think he deserves one. I think his story needs to be told and Sylvester Stallone deserves to be in charge ’cause both men are very similar in a haunting way.

Sly is no stranger to mobster flicks, yes, he’s done them before. Remember, the movie “Shade”? Where he plays the Dean? That’s a mobster movie.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shade_(film)

The John Gotti biopic also looks like it’s going to be a sad movie as well. Gotti died in prison with cancer, so think how Sly can play an emotional death scene playing the character. John Gotti Sr. was a mob boss that actually had a pretty large fan following. Again, it’s kind of similar to Sly. The Gotti biopic will be a pretty large casting, ’cause they need to find actors for the Gambino family. They need to find someone for Junior Gotti too.

Also, they would need someone to play Paul Castellano ’cause he was a big part of the Gambino family…

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Castellano

Yeah, I can see the “Gotti” biopic, being a serious drama if you know “The Dapper Don” history well. It could be a very intense movie. Sly has done action flicks for most of his career. I think he wants to do something a little different and something more serious this time. Yes, Gotti maybe a crazy psychotic madman, but if you knew how he committed his crimes, he only killed people that deserved to die. He never killed the innocent. That is why he was considered a hero and why he grew a “fan” following back in those days.

I support Sly 100% toward this project and I can’t wait for Sly to reveal more stuff about this movie in the future. Give Sly a chance with this one, ’cause I truly think he’ll show his acting, directing and writing talent with this movie all the way.

Report: About Stallone making a movie about John Gotti, it’s true!!!

TMZ posted a video of Sly going to dinner with John Gotti Jr., the son of the famous, “The Dapper Don”. Gotti Jr. confirms the movie IS in the works and the script is being written too. When Sly finally arrived at the restaurant, Sly was pretty much tight lipped and kept his mouth shut everytime questions were asked about the movie. Except Sly did confirm at the end of the video, he is planning to play John Gotti Sr., and has been wanting to do this for years.

See the video here:

http://www.tmz.com/videos?autoplay=true&mediaKey=340430b6-67c7-4447-82fa-880c6ce4bc7f

The question is, how much will Sly play John Gotti in the film? Will it be throughout the entire movie or just a small role?

It seems that Sly is no fan of TMZ, it seemed he was in no mood to talk to them. Gotti Jr. seems like a real friendly guy though.

I’m pretty sure Sly will speak to the movie industry about this movie very soon since TMZ was the first to leak the news. I’m looking forward to hearing more!

Report: Sly announces plans to retire from acting to concentrate on directing only…

Sylvester Stallone attended this year’s Los Angeles Film Festival and he announced some shocking news. The man plans to hang it up on acting for good but, he wants to concentrate on directing only.

More on it here:

http://www.google.com/hostednews/ukpress/article/ALeqM5imhevyayKx7J-VFdRjhzPw15X2Fg

Honestly, he doesn’t have to hang up on acting for good. There are plenty of aging actors that are still acting in film today: Robert Deniro, Al Pacino, Anthony Hopkins, Ian McKellen, Harrison Ford, Michael Douglas, etc. The list can go on. Eastwood returned to leading roles for “Gran Torino” and Mel Gibson is back in leading roles too.

This makes you wonder about Sly’s “John Gotti” biopic project that is rumoured to be planned. Will Sly play in the film or will he just direct it, and not star? Don’t know, I’m sure Sly will speak out on the “John Gotti” rumour soon. This wasn’t the first time that Sly directed a movie and not act in the leading role. Remember, the movie “Staying Alive”? Yep, Sly wrote and directed that film, but didn’t star the leading role. John Travolta did, obviously. So Sly does have experience in directing films but not acting in them.

That would be kind of cool if Sly directs action movies and not star. I’m pretty sure Sly would want to work with Jason Statham some more. So maybe Sly will direct more movies that will star Statham and not Sly. I definitely see Sly and Statham working on much more movies together in the future for sure. They’ve grown quite the friendship during their filming of “The Expendables”.

Cool Video: More on John Gotti, see how Sly would be perfect for him…

If you watch these videos, John Gotti speaking in prison with visitors…notice how John’s speaking voice is very close to Sly’s. Speaking really fast, kind of mumbling a little bit, etc. Gotti has a Rocky like speaking voice. Plus, Gotti looks similar to Sly too. I can see how Sly wants to bring this project to the big screen now. Check ’em out below. If you think about it, Sly would bring out the great acting chops again just like he did with the first Rocky.

Report: Sylvester Stallone’s next project after “The Expendables”??? Sly will make a biopic about John Gotti???

TMZ reported that Sylvester Stallone is in talks with, “Junior” John Gotti, who is the son of the famous mobster boss, John Gotti Sr. to make a biopic film about John Gotti Sr. Will this be Stallone’s next movie after, “The Expendables”?

More on it here:

http://www.tmz.com/2010/06/24/sylvester-stallone-john-gotti-john-gotti-jr-mafia-gambino-crime-family/

and here:

http://movies.ign.com/articles/110/1101629p1.html

As usual, TMZ are dumbasses. TMZ said, “As for Sly playing Gotti — good casting, we might add — we’re told the project is far enough along that he’s ready to pick a screenwriter.”

Hello MORONS! Sly Stallone is a screenwriter himself! So Sly will probably write the movie, direct it and star in it all at the same time. Sly has written scripts for most of his movies that he starred in his career. TMZ never gets their facts straight before posting things.

If this is really Sly’s next movie, this is a very interesting one.

To those who don’t know John Gotti’s history look at his wikipedia:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Gotti

Gotti was a vicious animal. Look like Sly wants this to be a serious mob drama. Kind of in the likes of Scorsese’s “The Departed” and other mobster films. John Gotti died in prison at the age of 61, around Sly’s age, so yeah, this is a perfect role for Sly. Can you see the film doing an emotional scene of the death of Frank Gotti?

Seriously, if Sly does good with this movie, it might land himself in the Oscars again.

Who should star in the movie with Sly? Will this movie be full of big name stars or a bunch of unknown actors for the Gambino family gang? Not sure about Sly’s plans yet for this movie. If he does star with a bunch of big names again, maybe try and get Kurt Russell. George Clooney and Al Pacino would be good additions too. Maybe Johnny Depp as well.

Anyhow glad Sly is finally doing something different other than another Rambo movie! Kudos!

Report: The MPAA finally rates “The Expendables” a hard R!

All the fans have been wanting this movie R rated, well, Stallone gave them what they wanted. The MPAA finally gave the film an official R rating.

More on it here:

http://www.boxofficemojo.com/news/?id=2831&p=.htm

Why did it take so long for MPAA to rate the movie? Even if the movie is already out there being heavily promoted in the media? Maybe it’s because Sly didn’t finish the movie yet. Just completing the last finishing touches. Last minute editing and all that kind of stuff. Then Sly would send the film to the MPAA for them to watch and they decide what to rate it. It took a long time for the MPAA to rate it because they need to carefully see how much violence and language there is in the film, also, whether or not the film has nudity. With Sly Stallone films being bloody violent and controversial, he had to be careful not to make it an NC-17 rating. If it was too NC-17, then Sly would have to delete some scenes to make it R.

To learn how the MPAA rate stuff check their website here:

http://www.mpaa.org/ratings/what-each-rating-means

I think Sly came this close to making the last “Rambo” movie an NC-17 rating. So he had to cut some stuff out to make it, R rated. Fans are too obsessed with Sly making R rated action films ’cause that’s what he’s known for.

Sly tried other genres in his career but he fails at comedy and drama. I think he’s only successful doing action films. Everybody knows it. Honestly though, I don’t think Sly will do action movies for the rest of his life. He might try and do comedy or drama again, who knows. He’ll get too old for the action thing one day and I think he might hang it up at some point.

Can’t wait for “The Expendables” because I’ve been waiting too long for this film like everyone else! The UFC is already heavily promoting the film which is no surprise, there are three different UFC guys in the film.

Report: Sly is planning sequel to “Tango & Cash”…

Could Sly Stallone go back to wearing the suit, tie & glasses and Kurt Russell will go back to wearing drag for a sequel in “Tango & Cash”? It could be possible as Sly is planning a sequel to the action comedy. Although the two haven’t worked in a film together in a long time, they are still great friends. Sly tried to get Kurt for “The Expendables” movie, but Kurt turned it down ’cause he wasn’t ready to come back to Hollywood yet. I think Kurt agreed to a “Tango & Cash” sequel as a way to make up for it? Could “Tango & Cash” be Sly’s next movie after “The Expendables”? Hopefully.
