Thought: Brock doesn’t care if “The Expendables” gets a PG13 or R rated rating, I just want to see a kick ass action movie!!!

The Stallonezone.com message boards users are angry that, “The Expendables” could be a PG-13 rating. My question is why? I understand people want to see hardcore violence with blood and gore, they want to hear lots of swearing in the movie, but just because an action movie doesn’t have any of that, doesn’t mean it’s going to be crap.

Over the years of Hollywood films there has been plenty of great action movies that had a PG-13 rating ever since the 80’s.

Here are some other great Pg13 action flicks I can remember at the top of my head:

  • Big Trouble In Little China
  • The Jason Bourne trilogy
  • 007 Casino Royale
  • Taken
  • Raiders of the Lost Ark
  • Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
  • The Rundown
  • and there are plenty of great martial arts films, Marvel/DC superhero films, etc. that have a PG-13 rating with fun action in them…

You see, not all PG-13 rated action movies are bad. In fact, back in the 80’s most action movies in those days were rated PG-13. Sly is trying to make, “The Expendables”, 80’s style, and he is following that root.

Whether “The Expendables” is either PG-13 or R rated, I don’t care, either one will do it for me. I just want to see a badass action flick with all these tough guys.

“The Expendables”, promises to be a really good and fun action movie, no matter the rating. Sly will not dissapoint. So people trying to tell Mr. Stallone to make this R rated is just a big waste of time. Just enjoy and appreciate the hard work that Stallone and the rest of guys put into this movie.

Reading Sheryl Main’s Twitter page, the filming in NOLA is just about over. Then off to Cali to film the Arnold, Sly, and Church scene (who ever Church is, COME ON, Sly announce Church already, everyone is dying to know who it is).

Report: The Governator surviving emergency plane landing that could have been a plane crash…

It’s a good thing that Arnold is ok, and not injured or even worse, glad he wasn’t killed that would have been a plane crash. So they must of have a really good pilot if he was paying attention.

I’m sure this won’t stop his filming of, “The Expendables” with Sly.

Harry Knowles writes his experience visiting “Expendables” set on AICN…

This is a very interesting read.

Think Dolph Lundgren is a very talkative and confident guy? Not really. Dolph Lundgren, the toughguy legend we all know is actually a very quiet and shy person…Harry explained it all himself…

http://www.aintitcool.com/node/41461

When Harry met Jet Li, all Harry got was a handshake and a smile from Jet, that was it, Jet didn’t talk at all.

So you think meeting famous movie stars in person is a cool thing, don’t get the wrong idea. A lot of times meeting your favorite heros can turn out dissapointing. Some celebs can be rude, have bad attitudes, can be shy/quiet, etc. Some celebs can be very nice, polite, talkative and friendly with their fans. Celebrities are different when meeting people who are not famous.

Anyhow, back to the Expendables, seems like Sly is very committed to pleasing everyone by making an in your face kick ass action flick that we all can love! This is the hardest work that I’ve ever seen Sly doing. It’s amazing! Coming from a man who’s like 62 or 63.

Harry Knowles of AICN to visit “Expendables” set this week…

According to Sheryl Main’s “Expendables” twitter page, Sly Stallone has invited AICN owner, Harry Knowles to the filming set…

http://twitter.com/marialascala

My guess is that Sly is going to give Harry some exclusive pics to post on “Aint It Cool News” and maybe Harry will be the first one to announce who Church is before anyone else?

Although there are rumours that Bruce Willis is on board for “The Expendables”, Bruce could be playing a different character though, not the Church one. It could be Bruce, but you never know, Sly could put a surprise on us and it could be someone totally different.

Look like Church is filming the scenes this week and the crew of the Expendables is not revealing who it is later this week, probably.

Top candidates on who Church could definitely be: Bruce Willis, John Travolta, Jean Claude Van Damme, Josh Brolin, and Tom Cruise maybe?

The reason John Travolta makes the list is because according to recent entertainment reports, Travolta is back to work in Hollywood, so he could definitely be the top pick.

AICN will probably have the Church exclusive soon. This Church role sounds huge and may shock the world.

Ask “The Expendables” cast a question for upcoming interview…

Sheryl Main’s “Expendables” blog is asking fans to ask the “Expendables” cast questions about the upcoming action movie. It must be about either their character or the film itself, any questions not related to the film won’t be accepted.

I asked my questions already. Feel free to ask yours here:

Report: Steven Seagal turns down role in, “The Expendables”…

First Kurt Russell turned down a role in Stallone’s film “The Expendables”, then Jean Claude Van Damme turned it down too, who’s next to join the club? That would be the pony tailed karate master, Steven Seagal.

Sly tried asking Steven Seagal to appear in the film, but he turned it down as well. The reason? It has nothing to do with scheduling conflicts or the direction that the script was in, but it has something to do with not getting along with one of, “The Expendables” film crew members. That is Avi Lerner, the founder/owner of Nu Image/Millenium Films.

Avi Lerner and Steven Seagal don’t get along too well. Steven refuses to work on any films that is done by Nu Image/Millenium which is owned by Avi Lerner. Seagal would have loved to be part of the film if Avi Lerner didn’t have anything to do with it.

Although this article confirms that Bruce Willis is Church (no surprise), I will wait for the announcement from Sly himself so I can believe it.

Cool Video: New “Expendables” behind the scene footage, New Orleans local news…

The New Orleans local news did a story on the “Expendables” being filmed in their city. They describe this movie “Rambo X’s 10”. Meaning that the “Expendables” will be more violent than the Rambo movies.

See it here:

http://www.fox8live.com/news/local/story/Big-budget-movie-being-filmed-locally/7RAeteBid0ea_lavtQFOKQ.cspx

Reading the “Expendables” blog, it looks like the violence could be much worse than Rambo. They’re doing all real stunts, and sounds like they are doing real fighting. Real punching and real kicking with real injuries, and everything. Of course, the only thing that’s not real is the gun shooting. They are using real explosions and all that.

I don’t understand why Sly has to release this in the Spring of 2010, when a movie like this will be a perfect, Christmas release.

Sly is almost done with the movie. They’re almost done filming in New Orleans, then they shoot in Los Angeles for the Sly, Arny, and Church scenes last.

After Sly’s finished filming the movie, he’ll have to edit it and put it all together. Keeping the scenes that are right and taking out the scenes that aren’t. Adding sounds effects, musical scores, regular songs by artists/bands for the film soundtrack and whatever last finishing touches they do before release date.

Look like this film is aiming for a 2 hour running length since they aren’t filming for that long. It could be even a little less, maybe an hour and 40 minutes, or worse, a 90 minute film again.

I’m usually never that excited for movies that I’m interested in seeing but like I said before, “The Expendables” is one film that I’m pretty psyched to see. Yeah, I do get a little excited for some movies coming out that I like, but not that excited, but this one I’m very excited and pumped to be seeing.

I’m sure Sly will NOT dissapoint. A film like this is an action movie fan’s dream come true. I’m sure this film will get all action movie fans satisfied, since his last “Rambo” movie got mixed reviews. Sly just wants to make the best action movie possible and he is trying, I think he will do it with this one. This isn’t the biggest movie Sly has ever done, but it certainly is the biggest action movie ever.

Report: Dolph speaks to the internet on working with Stallone again for, “The Expendables”…

Dolph Lundgren is having various interviews on the web to talk about his upcoming movie projects he’s directing and, “The Expendables” that he’s starring in.

I believe that the reason Dolph agreed to star in “The Expendables”, is to get some directing lessons from Sly. Dolph is a film director himself and in these interviews, he talked about how he learned a lot from Sly in film directing, when making action movies. Another reason Dolph agreed to sign on to “Expendables” was ’cause he loved the script.

Dolph talks about how it is so cool to be working with Sly again after all these years of not seeing each other.

More on it here:

http://stallonezone.com/wordpress/?p=1455

“Expendables”, bigger than Rocky and Rambo? Sorry Dolph but I think Rocky and Rambo were Sly’s biggest films ever.

“Expendables” will be a smash hit with all the star power in it, yes, but it’s definitely not in Rocky and Rambo’s league.

Report: Is Josh Brolin the Church character for “The Expendables”???

That’s what Sheryl Main’s “Expendables” twitter page is hinting us. They wrote that Josh Brolin just finished “Jonah Hex” movie, Sheryl Main is on the cell phone with Josh, and he’s on the same flight she’s in…though the page fails to tell us why they are keeping in touch with him.

Sheryl Main’s twitter page here:

http://twitter.com/marialascala

Yep, looks like Church will be Josh Brolin. The former Goonies star, the guy that starred in the Coen Bros. “No Country For Old Men” and played George W. Bush in Stone’s, “W.”.

Sly, Arny, and Josh playing in the same scene together? Hmmmm, I like it! 🙂
