Report: Black Sabbath refuses to respond to Bill Ward’s statement and vows to go on without him…

The show must go on, right? With or without Bill. They certainly don’t screw around with anyone’s drama that’s for sure.

Read Sabbath’s about Bill’s statement, here.

Whether, Bill is right or wrong, Sabbath is gonna put on a rockin’ performance. I do agree that the band will sound different without Bill, but they’re still gonna do great. They’re still gonna rock your socks off.

I’m sure the band will release a live DVD/CD of their upcoming three performances sometime in the future. I’m a huge Sabbath fan, always has been. I loved both Ozzy and RJD eras. Of course, I loved the Ozzy era more like most people.

Report: Bill Ward, drummer of Black Sabbath, releases statement that he’s not playing the upcoming three shows…doesn’t mean he’s done with Sabbath for good though…

Bill Ward, the drummer for Black Sabbath, released a long statement on his website, announcing the official news that he will not be playing the upcoming three Black Sabbath shows, with the original members. Sabbath is scheduled to play three upcoming shows: Their hometown Birmingham show, Download, and of course, Lollapalooza. He is still upset about not receiving an official sign-able contract. Plus, he is upset that he was asked to only play on three songs at the Birmingham gig, when he would rather perform on the entire gig. Lots of other reasons, why he wants no part of these shows.

Read Bill’s blog on it, here.

I’m sure Bill’s fans are hating on him for this, and I’m sure Sharon’s getting the blame. I was gonna bash him for it too, but after reading this intelligent blog, I understand him. It’s a pretty well written blog, explaining his reasons behind things.

I agree there’s no Black Sabbath reunion without Bill Ward, but come on people. I’ve said it plenty of times that Sabbath went through too many different drummers over the years. I’m sure they’re used to replacing somebody and they’ll find somebody quickly. No matter who replaces, Bill Ward, Black Sabbath is going to put on a fucking amazing performance. They’ll put on a tight show, no matter who the drummer is. I’m sure they’ll kill it with no problem and leave the crowd wanting some more.

On top of all this, Black Sabbath deserves some positive vibes after what Tony is going through with his cancer and all. These three, Sabbath shows could be their last ever. When Tony dies, Sabbath is done. In my eyes, there is no Black Sabbath without Tony Iommi. He can replace other members if he wants to but Tony can’t be replaced. Tony even had other bass players other than Geezer Butler over the years too. Tony can’t be replaced ’cause HE IS Black Sabbath. Bill, Ozzy, and Geezer maybe SABBATH too, but everything is all Tony. He is the star and the main guy of the band. Without his distinct guitar sound and his excellent riffs, that’s not Black Sabbath. As long as Tony is in the band, it’s still Black Sabbath, no matter who is in it.

I’m sure the other guys in the band, are not heartbroken about Bill’s departure, they had problems with the guy for years, so this is nothing NEW!

Report: Black Sabbath to headline Lollapalooza 2012, minus Bill Ward on drums???

While Black Sabbath had no choice but to cancel their entire tour that they planned due to Tony’s cancer announcement, the band said they were still going to play a few shows, as a way to keep the fans happy. Tony maybe okay right now, but this is a good time to play a few final shows before he gets worse with his cancer until he isn’t able to play guitar anymore.

While I’m sure Sabbath is still getting a lot of hate from fans because of the Bill Ward controversy, I wish everyone would give the band positive vibes. Simply because Tony is having cancer and the band deserves to retire on a positive note, but fans continue to disrespect the band by blaming Bill’s departure on Sharon and all that stuff. Look, the band is going through some hard times with Tony’s cancer, you think people would give the band respect? No, people just want to continue to be assholes to them.

Sabbath deserves all the support and respect, ’cause Tony is a legend. With or without Bill Ward, it’s still going to be a great fuckin’ performance. Sabbath went through many different members over the years. I also believe that Sabbath went through a different drummer while Ozzy was still frontman in the 70’s. Bill has always been difficult on the guys, so never blame it on Sharon.

Lollapalooza 2012, could be Sabbath’s last and final gig ever. Perry Farrell, who is the longtime founder and owner of the legendary festival, says he’s thrilled and excited to have Black Sabbath perform. He also says he couldn’t believe they actually accepted his offer to play.

I’m sure Sabbath’s performance at Lollapalooza will get the most attention, than most of the acts on the lineup. I’m sure they will get the biggest crowd too. I’m sure looking forward to seeing it, with or without Bill Ward. I won’t be going to the concert itself but I’m sure the internet will live stream it somewhere, so I’ll watch Sabbath’s performance then.

Black Sabbath understandably cancels tour and will just play Download Festival only…

I hate to be the one to say this but I have a bad feeling that Tony could be the next one to go this year. Lymphoma is a hard cancer to fight. All we can do now is give him all the love and support that he needs. I feel sorry for the guys in Black Sabbath. I’ve always LOVED Black Sabbath no matter who was in the band. I love everything Tony Iommi did ’cause he is one of my favorite guitarists who I followed pretty religiously. The guy is a riff master at the guitar and he’s a phenomenal lead guitarist too.

Black Sabbath announced the other day that the band canceled their tour, and instead it will be an Ozzy solo tour. I’m sure Ozzy will have Tony and the guys play with him on some dates on his tour, that’s why he called it, “Ozzy & Friends”, I believe.

I feel bad for Tony. Sabbath just got back together, Bill Ward started all this drama with them and now Tony has cancer. Fuck.

It seems like it happens with Sabbath all the time. Whenever they get together, something bad happens. I’m sure they’re used to it by now, ’cause all bands have ups & downs in their careers. All bands deal with setbacks. Just because bands are big legends, doesn’t mean they get good stuff all the time, ya know? Shit happens.

I hope they’ll be recording their Download Performance and videotaping it so they can release it on CD/DVD/Blu Ray for all of us Sabbath fans. Download Fest could be their final and last performance.

It would be cool if they can resolve things with Bill so he can play on the Download too ’cause I agree, it’s not a Sabbath reunion without him.

Report: Sharon Osbourne fired Bill Ward from Sabbath? That’s what really happened?

MetalTalk.net, was the first to bring up the news that Sharon Osborne was responsible for firing Bill Ward from, Black Sabbath. I call it a bullshit rumor for now. Everyone loves to blame it on Sharon, but it doesn’t make any sense that Sharon would fire members from, Black Sabbath. I mean, the only person who makes the decisions on who stays and who goes in the band is none other than, Tony Iommi. Tony does the hiring and firing. Not Sharon. Tony owns the band and has complete control.

Everyone likes to assume that Sharon has complete control. No, Sharon has nothing to do with Sabbath. She’s only in charge of Ozzy’s solo career.

Yep, once something bad happens in Sabbath, all the tabloids on the internet will start making shit up. Don’t believe everything you read.

Report: Bill Ward, thanks fans for support, after Black Sabbath decided to move on without him…

Black Sabbath posted this message on their facebook page last Friday:

“We were saddened to hear yesterday via Facebook that Bill declined publicly to participate in our current Black Sabbath plans…we have no choice but to continue recording without him although our door is always open… We are still in the UK with Tony. Writing and recording the new album and on a roll… See you at Download!!!

– Tony, Ozzy and Geeze”

Bill posted this message on his site yesterday, read it, here.

Even if Sabbath welcomed Bill to come back to the band whenever he wanted, I think Bill just wanted to get payed a lot of money that everyone else couldn’t afford to pay him. People on the internet are blaming the labels, they’re blaming Sharon, etc. Sorry people, but there is no one to blame but Bill himself. He is being an ego driven greedy douche. This was all his decision.

If you knew Black Sabbath’s history, Bill had trouble sticking with the band for years. Read Tony’s book, “Iron Man”, it’s all there. Most fans are upset that the drummer could get replaced. Again, more evidence that there’s a lot of new & young fans out there who don’t know much about Black Sabbath. Sabbath went through so many members over the years, so I’m sure they are used to replacing musicians by now. They would have no trouble replacing somebody as I’m sure Ozzy & Tony would find somebody quickly.

My question is, did Bill already start recording drum tracks for the new album? Will they keep his drum tracks or scrap ’em for the replacement drummer?

I support Bill, yes, because he is a phenomenal drummer, but I won’t deny the fact that he is being greedy and all he cares about is money here. It wouldn’t surprise me if Tony ends up getting, Vinny Appice back.

Report: Bill Ward, Black Sabbath drummer, may pull out of reunion due to unsignable contract issues…

The original Black Sabbath drummer, Bill Ward, wrote on his official blog, that he may pull out of the Black Sabbath reunion with original members, that was originally announced on, 11/11/11. He is claiming that he never got a signable contract. He said he will stick to the reunion, if the other guys in the band gives him a signable contract.

More on the story, here.

Bill is just bullshitting like usual. To the fans that are new to Black Sabbath, this wasn’t the first time he bailed out on a reunion. He’s done it plenty of times before. Also, if you read Tony Iommi’s book, “Iron Man”, Tony said that Bill Ward was always a difficult man to deal with. Bill had trouble staying committed to the band in the past. He’s just a selfish and greedy man. I think Bill is all about the money, and not the music. Disrespectful to Tony who now has cancer.

Who needs Bill. Let him go. As long as we have Ozzy and Geezer back, that’s all we need. Some of you may say, no Bill, no Black Sabbath reunion? True that but drummers can always be replaced ’cause they’re not that really important.

I’ve said it before in the blog, that something might happen with Black Sabbath in the future, and I was right. Bill and Tony always had a hard time getting along and it’s still happening.

Kev

EDIT TO ADD: I meant to say, “Bill had trouble trying to stay committed to the band”, not Tony. My bad.

Report: Tony Iommi speaks on website since cancer announcement…

Today on Friday the 13th, Tony Iommi wrote a little message on his website, thanking the fans and supporters for their support and well wishes toward his cancer announcement, that Black Sabbath made earlier this week.

Even if Tony is sick, he is letting the world know that he is in good spirits and he is still recording the new Black Sabbath album, with the original members. He says the recording is going well, and they vow to finish the rest of it.

Read his message, here.

He still didn’t say anything about the tour. What will happen with the full Black Sabbath world tour they had planned? I have a feeling they might have to cancel out of that. They might just play one gig.

If they do end up cancelling the tour completely, that will be understandable. This is such a bummer though. I’m sure the rest of the guys in Black Sabbath are heartbroken too. Life isn’t fair.

BREAKING NEWS: Tony Iommi diagnosed with lymphoma cancer…

Black Sabbath, just announced the sad and heartbreaking news this morning, that Tony Iommi, the legendary guitarist that created heavy metal, has been diagnosed with lymphoma cancer.

Even if Tony is now sick, Black Sabbath vows to finish their new studio album with original members as planned.

Could this affect their upcoming world tour that they had originally planned, though? They might have to cancel some gigs or worse, cancel the entire tour if Tony, continues to get worse. The band didn’t say anything about their tour, if they will continue it or not, but I’m sure we’ll hear something soon.

This is very sad. Lymphoma is a hard cancer to fight, it’s pretty much a death sentence, so hopefully, Tony does fight it successfully. I wish him well and fight the good fight.

Tony just made his dream come true by reuniting the original members of Sabbath. He’s been trying to make it happen for years. He’s the master of guitar.

Read their announcement, here.

Book Review: “Iron Man” by Tony Iommi

Well, I just finished reading, “Iron Man”, by Tony Iommi through the Ibooks app on the Ipad today. We all know that Tony Iommi, a guitarist who was made famous for creating and inventing a genre of music that most of us love, that genre is metal. He inspired the genre just by simply playing with Jethro Tull briefly for the Rolling Stones’s, “Rock and Roll Circus”, show. The metal genre got it’s sound out of Jethro Tull.

I’ve read a lot of rock memoirs over the years. Most of them focused on drugs & alcohol, the partying lifestyle of a rock star. This book had a little bit about drugs, alcohol and sex addiction, but this book mostly focused on the music career of guitar great, Tony Iommi. The book was pretty detailed on Tony’s career, everything from starting off playing in local cover bands to starting Earth, the blues band, the Black Sabbath, solo career, Heaven & Hell, etc. The book was even pretty detailed throughout the entire Black Sabbath career. It went through every album and every member lineup.

While Black Sabbath went through so many members over the years, the original lineup with Tony, Ozzy, Bill Ward and Geezer Butler will always stand out the most, of course. The band will always be well known by the original lineup. The band didn’t become legends over night. They were a struggling band in the old days. They scared the shit out of people with their music in the old days and had trouble getting accepted as a band. They were accused of being satanists because of their dark lyrics and music.

Tony never liked being accused of being satanists with Black Sabbath. That is why Tony and Ozzy always wore the cross necklace, you see on them, all the time. They wore the cross necklace, not because they were religious, it was to help prove that they aren’t devil worshippers. Tony said Black Sabbath’s songs were never intended to be Satanic even though people thought it was. They just liked horror movies and scary things.

Black Sabbath broke up in the past, because nobody got along well and didn’t want to do it anymore. So Tony moved on to different projects. We all know that the original Black Sabbath members, reunited on and off over the years. Sometimes they get along well and sometimes they don’t.

Since Black Sabbath announced an official reunion with original members earlier this year, you just wonder how long that’s going to last ’cause Tony said if the band ever got back together again, things could blow up again and the reunion might not happen at all this year. Depends on how well they get along and how well they stay committed to each other. Black Sabbath announced a reunion this year and recording a new album, hopefully the tour does actually happen. I’m sure they get along well fine now.

Back to the book, it was a very inspiring read. I read a lot of rock memoirs, and this is the best one I’ve ever read. Tony told a lot of funny and entertaining stories. When Black Sabbath announced their reunion this year, it got a lot of mixed opinions from people. Some were in favor of their upcoming comeback and some weren’t. For those haters & nay sayers of Black Sabbath out there, you need to respect them. You all love metal because of them. They created the genre. Without them, then all the metal bands you all like wouldn’t even be around today. Do you think Metallica, Megadeth and Slayer would be around today if Black Sabbath never did? Hell no. Metal was all because of them.

This book is a must read for any Black Sabbath fan or metalhead. This is definitely one of the best books of the year.
