Springsteen and The E Street Band coming to SPAC!!!

There may just be another summer concert that I’m going to be interested in going to. Springsteen and The E Street Band is going to make a stop at SPAC in Saratoga Springs on Aug. 25th, tickets go on sale this Thursday at 10 a.m.

I never saw Bruce live before and always wanted to as well. I might think about this one.

Report: Glastonbury full lineup announced…

The Glastonbury UK music festival is announced, see the official line up here:

While Neil Young and Bruce Springsteen are both scheduled to perform on a different night, you know those two will pull on a surprise jam session where they will play guitar and sing together for a few songs. I’m sure Neil will probably perform his new album, “Fork In the Road”, in it’s entirety at Glastonbury during his set. Of course, Neil will play all of his classics too.

They can do without Lady Gaga being part of the fest, it’s not a bad lineup. I personally think Glastonbury should ditch Lady Gaga and book M.I.A instead.

Report: Neil Young and Blur set to headline Glastonbury along with Bruce Springsteen…

The long rumours of Neil Young and Blur headlining Glastonbury festival has just came true. Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Neil Young, and Blur are the three big headliners for this year’s festival in the UK.

Neil Young is set to release a new studio album titled “Fork In the Road”, later this year.

NME.com reports:

Big fan of all three acts, Glastonbury looks great this year!

I’m also looking forward to picking up Neil’s new album as well. Neil is a hero of mine. I own ten of Neil’s albums in my CD collection, big fan.

Report: So Faith Hill and Jen Hudson gets slammed for lip synching at Superbowl, everyone thinks Springsteen didn’t???

Another reason to call the Springsteen performance at the Superbowl an embarrassment. This article confirms that Springsteen sang live for real, but the E Street band were fake playing their instruments.

Wouldn’t surprise me if all Springsteen concerts were played like this.

Report: Bruce Springsteen ends Taylor Swift’s no. 1 Billboard streak…

Bruce Springsteen proves once again that he can never be beat by any artist or band everytime the boss puts a new album out. The Boss puts Taylor Swift’s album to shame by ending her 8 week streak in the Billboard Top 200.

Billboard reports:

No surprise to me, the Boss is always the Billboard king. Lets see how long “Working On a Dream” album will last as no. 1. “Working on a Dream” is a great album though, I think it’s better than “Magic” and “The Rising”.

BREAKING NEWS: Springsteen, Phish, Nine Inch Nails, Beastie Boys, David Byrne, and Wilco are the major headlining acts for Bonnaroo…

Yep, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will finally have their opportunity to share the stage with Phish after all these years, that will happen at Bonnaroo 2009 festival. The Bonnaroo Festival is a 4 day music fest with various stages and the festival is at Manchester, Tennessee. Festival will take place on June 11-14.

Other headlining acts are the Nine Inch Nails, Beastie Boys, David Byrne, Wilco, and more. A lot of other surprise appearances by Ben Harper, Kaki King, Merle Haggard, Rodrigo y Gabriela (an instrumental acoustic duo that plays cover songs), and many more.

See the artist lineup for Bonnaroo here:

Sounds like a good show. I’m sure a 2 or 3 hour Springsteen set will be better than his ridiculous 12 minute Halftime show at the Superbowl.

Thought: Springsteen was a let down, not very energetic…

I wasn’t too impressed by Springsteen and the E Street Band’s performance at the Halftime show tonight. I love Springsteen but the song selection wasn’t that great. Jennifer Hudson was the musical highlight of the night, she did better than Springsteen. Sorry, just an honest opinion.

Edit: Another thing to add, Jennifer Hudson is the one who should be the Halftime performing act, maybe she’ll get the Halftime gig for next year?

BREAKING NEWS: Springsteen admits Wal-Mart deal with “Greatest Hits” album was a huge career mistake!!!!

Look like Springsteen agrees with the fans that him releasing a “Greatest Hits” album through Wal-Mart exclusive was a mistake and the boss feels horrible about it.

Well, it’s good that Bruce is an honest man. This shows that the boss isn’t ego driven at all.

Speaking of Bruce, I picked up the “Working On a Dream” CD today, I’ll post a short review after I listen to it a few times.

Report: Springsteen promises he won’t let Superbowl audience down during halftime, he wants to party!!!

Look like Springsteen and the E Street Band will be playing their greatest hits at the Superbowl halftime after all. Springsteen revealed that he promises a good time for the audience at the game. Him and the band only get to play a 12 minute set, which will only fit about 3 or 4 songs. Of course, Springsteen refuses to say what songs him and the band will perform, he wants them to be a surprise.

See the article here:

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/01/30/sports/football/30springsteen.html?ref=sports

I’m betting your money that he will definitely play a few songs off “Born In the U.S.A.”, he’ll play the title track, “Glory Days” and maybe “Dancing In the Dark” too.

Rumours swirling the web, that Springsteen may pull up Courtney Cox from the Superbowl audience for him to dance with during “Dancing in the Dark”. Could this actually happen? Courtney Cox from “Friends” TV show will be at the Superbowl to dance with the boss on stage? We’ll have to wait and find out!

On a side note, Max Weinberg and Labamba Rosenberg will be performing in the band as well, as they are taking time off from the Conan O’ Brien show to rehearse for the Superbowl gig with Springsteen. Weinberg has been a member of the E Street band for many years.

I’m looking forward to the Superbowl this Sunday. I’m no NFL fan but I do watch the Superbowl every year. I’m also looking forward to seeing how Jennifer Hudson is going to sing the “National Anthem”, that’ll be interesting to see too.
