Report: “Blade Runner” sequel is finally confirmed with Ridley Scott directing…Harrison Ford to return as Rick Deckard?

For many months now, Ridley Scott have been planning a project based on the “Blade Runner” movie, but refuses to say if it’s going to be a sequel, prequel or a stand alone movie. He also say he wasn’t going to direct it or not. Today, the news have finally been revealed that the secret “Blade Runner” project will indeed be a sequel and of course, Ridley Scott will direct. The original “Blade Runner” screen writer, Hampton Fancher, is also on board.

They are keeping the plot for the sequel under wraps for now, but they give a hint that the sequel will take place years after the first movie left off. So the film will obviously continue the story of, Rick Deckard. So does this mean, Harrison Ford will come back?

The Hollywood Reporter, reports.

Reports doesn’t say anything about Harrison returning, but how much do you want to bet that they got him and they’re being quiet about it? Yep. I think Harrison will return! Before anyone slams the idea of a sequel, there were three “Blade Runner” novels. Could the plot for the sequel be based on this novel, here?

Anyway, I absolutely LOVED, the first “Blade Runner”, movie. If Harrison Ford is in the sequel, I’ll go see it. I can’t see anybody else playing Rick Deckard, so hopefully they still use the character. I’m sure Harrison will be able to play the role just fine, still, even if he is aging. Ridley Scott has been one of my favorite directors for years. I’m looking forward to “Prometheus”, too.

Report: Steven Spielberg agreed with the public that “Indiana Jones: Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” had problems but blames Lucas…

“Indiana Jones & The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”, the fourth installment to the Indy series has gotten negative feedback ever since it came out, and Steven Spielberg finally responds to the negative critics. He agreed with the public that Indy IV sucked, but he puts the blame on George Lucas for the bad movie.

Another thing that people’s been complaining about is the controversial Fridge scene in which Indy hides in to protect himself from an atomic bomb. Steven says he doesn’t blame Lucas for that scene, he blames himself.

I’m one of the very few that actually loved Indy IV, I just didn’t like Shia Labeouf starring in it. I think it was pretty much him that ruined the movie. Without Shia, the movie would have been fine.

When they do Indy V, hopefully they get rid of Shia, and I’m hoping they make Indy V a more serious movie next time around, and not a popcorn flick. I think the next Indy movie should be more like, “Raiders”. Will they do the sci-fi thing again with Indy V? I don’t think they should do it again.

I think it would be kind of cool if they do a script on the Ark of Covenant, after all, the Ark did make a brief cameo in Indy IV. They better make Indy V soon, because Harrison is getting older.

BREAKING NEWS: Ridley Scott confirms another “Blade Runner” movie but doesn’t yet say if it’s a prequel or a sequel…

Major movie news hit the web hard today. Since Ridley Scott is working on the new Alien movie, “Prometheus”, Ridley decided to sign on to direct & produce another installment to, “Blade Runner”. The 1982 science fiction film that starred, Harrison Ford.

There is no word on whether this new “Blade Runner” film, will be a prequel or a sequel. It is also not known if Harrison Ford will reprise his role as, Rick Deckard.

Deadline, reports.

I always thought there was more of a story to tell with, “Blade Runner”. It’s one of my favorite films of all times. Is it a good idea for Harrison to return though? If they make it a sequel for him to return. They could also hire a young actor to play a young Rick Deckard for the prequel. Not sure what Ridley’s plans are yet, but it certainly deserves another film. Love this movie!

Film Review: Cowboys & Aliens

Starring: Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, Olivia Wilde, Sam Rockwell

Directed by: Jon Favreau

Today, I decided to go to the mall for something to do and get out of the house for a while. There were two great movies out that I wanted to see. I had a choice between “Cowboys & Aliens” or “Captain America: The First Avenger”. I ended up seeing “Cowboys & Aliens” first. As for shopping, I didn’t buy much. All I picked up was Jaycee Dugard’s book “The Stolen Life”, but I’m not going to read it yet because there are other books I need to catch up on.

On with my review…

Plot/synopsis: The Old West.. where a lone cowboy leads an uprising against a terror from beyond our world. 1873. Arizona Territory. A stranger with no memory of his past stumbles into the hard desert town of Absolution. The only hint to his history is a mysterious shackle that encircles one wrist. What he discovers is that the people of Absolution don’t welcome strangers, and nobody makes a move on its streets unless ordered to do so by the iron-fisted Colonel Dolarhyde (Ford). It’s a town that lives in fear. But Absolution is about to experience fear it can scarcely comprehend as the desolate city is attacked by marauders from the sky. Screaming down with breathtaking velocity and blinding lights to abduct the helpless one by one, these monsters challenge everything the residents have ever known. Now, the stranger they rejected is their only hope for salvation. As this gunslinger slowly starts to remember who he is and where he’s been…

It’s another winner for Jon Favreau. It felt like Indiana Jones and James Bond 007 teaming up together except it’s taken place in the Wild West. Yes, the plot to the movie sounds goofy and whacky but most people don’t know that this movie was adapted from the graphic novel created by, Scott Mitchell Rosenberg. The story mixes western and sci-fi together.

For the Western part of the story, it has everything there is in the cowboy genre. The beginning of the film starts off as a serious Western film, then toward the middle it gets to the sci fi parts, when the aliens come invading their town. Jake Lonergan (Daniel Craig’s character) is a mean and tough character that you don’t want to mess with, but there’s a serious and emotional part about him too. He wakes up in the middle of Wild West and finds this strange looking bracelet on his wrist that looks like some type of machine. He’s trying to remember how he got there and where the strange bracelet came from.

Then we get the hilarious Harrison Ford who plays Col. Dolarhyde who is also pretty mean and tough. With his character you get a little bit of Han Solo and Indiana Jones both at the same time. When the characters are speaking their dialogues in the film, Col. Dolarhyde would come back with some smart ass jokes that are pretty funny. Plus, Harrison Ford is such a perfect actor to play Dolarhyde because Harrison looks exactly like him in the graphic novel. Harrison did a great job nailing the character down.

There are so many alien invasion movies over the years but most of them are the same thing. Just aliens invading the city and then they have the US Army fight them off. Not with this movie. This time it’s cowboys vs. aliens. Which is what I like. Something different for once.

The action scenes were very fun and entertaining. It was a pretty action packed movie all the way through. I thought the script was pretty well written for a popcorn action movie. This is definitely one of the better popcorn action flicks I’ve seen in a while. Check it out!

Score for “Cowboys & Aliens” = *** (3 stars as in “excellent”)

Cool Photo: Indiana Jones’s fridge scene from “Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”…

In Indiana Jones, “Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”, you remember that controversial fridge scene? Where Indy hides in this fridge during the Nuclear bomb explosion to protect himself? Well, here they are filming that scene. That’s really Harrison Ford in that fridge. It’s no stunt double, that’s really Harrison. The pic is proof of it.

Damn, while that scene is kind of goofy and silly, you gotta give respect for Harrison for braving that scene. I couldn’t even get in a fridge like that, it would be too painful and tiring. Gotta give the kudos for Harrison for dealing with that. I wonder how long Harrison stayed in that fridge in the pitch black dark like that?

Report: Warner Bros. moving forward with “Blade Runner” prequel and sequel…

Well, let the Harrison Ford returning to “Blade Runner” rumors begin! I’m sure it already started! Warner Bros. financial company, Alcon Entertainment, is in final negotiations to secure the rights to make a “prequel” and “sequel”, to the 1982 science fiction action adventure film, “Blade Runner”, that starred Harrison Ford as Rick Deckard, the film was directed by Ridley Scott.

Read the full story here, at Deadline.

Interesting. For the prequel, they would need a young actor for the Rick Deckard role, but Harrison may reprise the role for the sequel though. If they plan on using Rick Deckard still. I always felt that the “Blade Runner” movie had more of a story to be told, so I’m actually glad they’re doing more! Looking forward to see how they’re going to pull this off.

I’m sure we’ll hear from Harrison soon about this as well.

Cool Video: “Cowboys & Aliens” trailer finally hits the internets, and looks pretty friggin good too!!!

The new Jon Favreau directed movie, “Cowboys & Aliens” has finally hit the web! It stars Daniel Craig, Harrison Ford, and Olivia Wilde. The film looks surprisingly really good too. I’m impressed with the trailer so I’m sold! Harrison looks great, glad to see him doing action/adventure again too. He belongs in that genre. Olivia Wilde is a hot looking babe. I’m definitely seeing this when it comes out, hell yeah!

See the trailer, here.

Report: Indiana Jones rumoured to be re-released in 3D???

After the not so surprising announcement that LucasFilm plans to re-release all 6 Star Wars films into 3D versions in the near future, Lucas also plans to do the same with all 4 Indiana Jones films.

The rumour came from this site, here.

I honestly think, seeing “Raiders of the Lost Ark” in 3D would be badass. I always thought that would be a great 3D movie, but the rest of the Indy movies, I wouldn’t see in 3D, just “Raiders”. Plus, it would be badass to see “Raiders” on the big screen for the first time, since I never got to see it when it first came out. It’s my favorite Indy movie of them all.

BREAKING NEWS: Harrison Ford shows at San Diego Comic Con early today!!!!

Wow! Is this year’s San Diego Comic Con CRAZY or what??? First Angelina Jolie appears on Friday. Saturday, we get the guys from the Expendables and that includes Bruce Willis.

And who’s the next big legend to make his debut at SDCC? Yes, Indiana Jones himself, Harrison Ford, who is now a happily married man! Harrison is at SDCC to promote “Cowboys & Aliens” with Jon Favreau and Daniel Craig.

I wonder when Christopher Nolan will show up at SDCC??? He hasn’t shown up yet. If he did, it would have been all over the news. Maybe Chris Nolan will show up at SDCC on the last day to give Batman & Superman news? We all hope Chris would show up, maybe he will tomorrow. I’m positive he will, he would dissapoint fans if he decided not to show at all.

Report: Indiana Jones “Bermuda Triangle” storyline is not true, says Frank Marshall…

Earlier this week, rumours hit hard on the next “Indiana Jones” plot that it was going to be about the Bermuda Triangle. Turns out it’s just a bullshit rumour. Frank Marshall the producer, took to his twitter page to squash the rumours.

More on it here:

http://www.collider.com/2010/06/08/indiana-jones-5-bermuda-triangle-2011-harrison-ford-shia-labeouf-steven-spielberg-george-lucas/

Thank god it’s not true. I didn’t like the Bermuda Triangle plot anyways.

I would prefer the next Indy movie to focus on something serious. I’d still stand by it that if George and Steve wants the next Indy movie to be successful, they need to make the next one more like “Raiders”. If they make it a popcorn flick again, they will get another backlash by haters. Make the next Indy movie like “Raiders” where fans can be happy.
