Ron Howard confirmed to direct “Han Solo” spinoff movie for Star Wars… interesting…

Here’s a few interesting tidbits, back when Ron Howard was an actor he starred in “American Graffiti” which was a film George Lucas directed before he made the first Star Wars film. Then later  in the 80’s, Ron Howard directed a movie called “Willow” which was another George Lucas creation.

Now Ron will be officially directing a Star Wars film for the first time ever. Even though George Lucas isn’t involved at all, it’s still kind of cool.

I like Ron Howard, he has made some good movies over the years. I think he could pull off a Star Wars movie pretty well, trust me. I think it’s clear that he is a pretty big Star Wars fan like most of us so I’m sure he’s capable of giving us a Star Wars film that all of us would want to see. I’m sure he won’t disappoint us at all.

“Willow” was a great film and that film was kind of like Star Wars a bit. There was a lot of sword fighting in that film so I’m sure Ron is capable of putting on some entertaining as hell light saber battles.

While the cast is already all set, I’m sure Ron will add more actors to the cast. Wouldn’t it be cool if Tom Hanks get some kind of role in the film? Like maybe a cameo appearance? Would be kind of cool. Ron and Tom Hanks made a lot of movies together over the years.

Indiana Jones 5 is finally confirmed with Steven Spielberg returning to direct and Harrison Ford will play Indy once again!

While announcing the release date for “Star Wars Episode IX” which is the final film of the new Star Wars trilogy, Disney & Lucasfilm finally confirmed “Indiana Jones 5”. Best of all Steven Spielberg is returning to the director’s chair for Indy 5 and Harrison is once again playing Indy. Indy 5 is set for a July 10th, 2020 release date.

http://www.starwars.com/news/star-wars-episode-ix-and-next-indiana-jones-get-release-dates

What I like the most about Indy 5 is that George Lucas is no longer in charge so that means more creative freedom for Spielberg and Ford. It’s gonna be interesting to see how Spielberg is gonna pull off an Indy film without Lucas involved for sure. I’m a huge Indiana Jones fan, loved all 4 Indy movies…. yes, I even thought, “Crystal Skull” was real good despite the negative critics of that film. I will always think “Raiders of the Lost Ark” will be the best Indy film ever made, though.

At almost 75 do you think Harrison still has what it takes to play Indy? Yes, absolutely. I think Harrison can still do action scenes and his own stunts quite well. He seems to play Han Solo quite well in, “The Force Awakens” movie. Since Han Solo is gone Harrison won’t be playing in SW: Episode 8 and 9 so it’s looking his next movie is gonna be Indy 5.

Will Indy 5 be a continuation of “Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”? Probably will but I hope they don’t bring Shia Labeouf back, though.

They need to make the next Indy movie more like “Raiders”. Make it a serious film like “Raiders” was. The next Indy movie will probably be an action movie like they all are but I hope they leave the science fiction stuff out of it this time.

I’m glad Indy 5 is finally happening ’cause Spielberg and Ford has been talking about it for years. They better get to work on it soon ’cause Harrison is getting older. I think they will get to work on it right away. Glad a new Indy film is happening, celebrate by listening to the theme song below!

Now that I’ve seen “The Force Awakens” & “Rogue One”, maybe Disney buying Lucasfilm was a good move after all???

At first I was kind of skeptical of Disney buying Lucasfilm. When I first heard the news, I was like, “huh” like everyone else. Now that I’ve seen “The Force Awakens” that takes place after “Return of the Jedi” and seen “Rogue One” which takes place before “Episode IV: A New Hope”, I’m beginning to see that Disney buying Lucasfilm was a good move after all. I pretty much enjoyed both “The Force Awakens” and “Rogue One” a lot. Disney surprisingly did a great job with both of those movies and I didn’t think they could pull it off. Now I look forward to every new Star Wars movie they do so hopefully they do a great job with the Han Solo standalone film that’s in the works.

In the past, I wasn’t that big on Star Wars. I like Star Wars, don’t get me wrong but I don’t “geek” out on it like a lot of die-hards. I’m more of a Star Trek geek than Star Wars but seeing “The Force Awakens” and “Rogue One” makes me want to love Star Wars a lot more.

As far as “Rogue One” goes, I thought it was a very impressive film. Loved it a lot! It was good to see the old stormtroopers again. “Rogue One” was definitely one of the best movies of this year.

I know how some Star Wars fans prefer to keep it as the original trilogy but with a story like Star Wars, you can create more stories with that franchise. More sequels, prequels and spinoffs. I wonder if Disney is gonna try to make Star Wars films that will take place between “A New Hope” and “Empire Strikes Back”. I wonder if Disney will try to make films that will take place between “Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi”. They probably will. Now that George Lucas has retired from films and has passed the torch to Disney, expect a lot more Star Wars films to come out. Will Boba Fett get his own film? I can see that coming. Will R2-D2 and C-3PO get their own film? Yes. I think Chewbacca getting his own movie might be pretty interesting. There’s all kinds of possibilities.

I’m just so glad that Lucas is no longer in charge of Star Wars and Indiana Jones ’cause like most I too think Lucas is a horrible storyteller and bad film maker. Good riddance. I’m not a big fan of the prequel trilogy either. It turns out that “The Force Awakens” and “Rogue One” were both very successful films and hope Disney keeps up the good work.

Indiana Jones 5 officially happen, Harrison Ford and Steven Spielberg to return but no George Lucas!

Disney finally made it official today that “Indiana Jones 5” is absolutely happening! Best of all, Harrison Ford is reprising his role as Indy and Steven Spielberg will be returning to the director’s chair for Indiana Jones. The film is slated for a release date of July 19th, 2019.

http://www.usatoday.com/story/life/movies/2016/03/15/spielberg-ford-reunite-fifth-indiana-jones-due-2019/81814596/

This is great news ’cause I’m a really big Indiana Jones fan. It’s good timing to start making Indy 5 now ’cause Harrison Ford is not get any younger. The man is 73 right now and I think he definitely has one more Indy film left in him. Star Wars Episode 7 “The Force Awakens” will probably be the final time that Harrison will play Han Solo. This will probably be the final time that Harrison will play Indy.

Will Indy 5 end up being an action movie? Probably. Harrison seems to do action movies quite well so why not?

Now that George Lucas is no longer involved, that means more creative freedom for Ford and Spielberg so it’ll be interesting to see what they’ll come up with now that George is no longer in charge of the creative writing process.

One thing for sure, though, I hope they don’t bring Shia Labeouf back ’cause I thought Indy and Marion having a kid together was a pretty dumb idea. They probably will end up bringing Shia back but hopefully just for a small role.

If they want fans to take the next movie seriously then I’d suggest make the next movie more like “Raiders”. Something similar, ya know? We don’t need another “Crystal Skull”. I do like “Crystal Skull” but I’ll have to agree that the film had some problems. Hope they don’t let us down next time.

Disney is never replacing Harrison Ford as Indy… which is good news actually…

The producer of the Indy franchise Frank Marshall confirms that Harrison Ford is never getting replaced in future Indy films by Disney. Frank says they aren’t doing the James Bond thing where they replace Bond for every 3 or 4 films or so. They’re keeping Harrison as Indiana Jones. He is irreplaceable for sure.

http://www.denofgeek.com/movies/indiana-jones-5/37494/indiana-jones-5-recasting-indy-ruled-out#ixzz3pei8zO2S

Indy will probably be a continuing franchise but if Harrison one day passes away (not saying it’ll happen but we’re all gonna go at some point, right?) or no longer wants to do it, they’ll figure out a way to have a leading star and not name this character Indiana Jones. Like Harrison as Indy can pass the whip and the hat to someone else which is what Indy 5 is probably gonna be about.

This is a smart move ’cause Harrison is Indy and no one else.

When they make the next Indy film, I just hope they don’t make it a CGI fest and popcorn film like “Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”. They should make the next Indy film kind of like “Raiders” ’cause “Raiders” was obviously the best Indy film, in my opinion. “Raiders” was a masterpiece and classic for sure. I am a huge Indiana Jones fan and I hope they make the next one really good ’cause I’ll admit that “Crystal Skull” was slightly disappointing. Lets hope they don’t bring the sci-fi back.

What is Chewie screaming about in this new “The Force Awakens” still???

Edit to add: Actually this still isn’t from “The Force Awakens” at all. It’s a still from the “Empire Strikes Back” when Chewie got mad that the door closed ’cause Han Solo didn’t come back to base. My bad. I remember that scene too.

Star Wars finally coming to online streaming and downloads but avoiding Netflix…

The Star Wars film franchise is finally arriving to online streaming and downloads. Soon you will be able to watch the six Star Wars films on Amazon, Google Play, Itunes Movies and Vudu.

I am noticing that they are avoiding Netflix streaming and I wonder why? Netflix and Disney are on good terms together as Netflix streaming has plenty of live action and animated Disney films. So I wonder why Star Wars isn’t on Netflix yet? I’m sure Star Wars will make Netflix streaming sometime in the future. Maybe not right now.

http://decider.com/2015/04/07/star-wars-streaming/?utm_campaign=SocialFlow&utm_source=NYPFacebook&utm_medium=SocialFlow

I already have all six Star Wars films on DVD but I’m missing the first Star Wars movie, “A New Hope”. I lost the disc somewhere so maybe I’ll just buy that one digitally in case I want to re-watch all the Star Wars film sometime ’cause I’m probably gonna end up wanting to re-watch them all before “The Force Awakens” come out later this year.

Felicity Jones confirmed as female lead for “Star Wars: Rogue One”, Rian Johnson to write/direct “Star Wars Episode VIII”…

Disney released some new Star Wars news today.

First up is that actress Felicity Jones is set to star in the Star Wars spin off film which is titled “Rogue One” and will be directed by Gareth Edwards. There are no plot details as of yet though.

Secondly, Rian Johnson have been confirmed to write & direct, “Star Wars Episode VIII” which will continue right after JJ’s, “The Force Awakens”.

http://www.starwars.com/news/rogue-one-is-the-first-star-wars-stand-alone-film-rian-johnson-to-write-and-direct-star-wars-episode-viii?linkId=12857855

What is it with Disney obsessing with young female leads? There’s a new trend going on in Hollywood with young female leads starring in films. Like all the superhero films, Ghostbusters, Star Wars, the Hunger Games, etc.

I guess young women do pull in a lot of people in the theaters and that’s probably the only reason, I would think.

How Harrison Ford can still play Indy in the new “Indiana Jones” reboot by Disney and make it work…

So Disney is officially rebooting the Indiana Jones franchise with Chris Pratt possibly taking over the Indy role. People are wondering why Disney is moving on without Harrison Ford. Keep in mind that Disney never said that they are moving on without Harrison Ford yet. They never confirmed whether he was in or not yet so that means it’s still a possibility that Harrison could still be involved. I don’t think he’s ruled out yet.

How can they make it work with Harrison still playing Indy in the next film?

Well, when George Lucas used to be involved, I remember that Lucas and Spielberg were talking about rebooting the series but with an aging Indiana Jones passing the torch to a younger Indy. They originally had that idea for Indy 5 but that idea may have been scrapped when Disney bought Lucasfilm. Harrison could still play Indy in the next film. The older Indiana Jones is on the verge of retirement from being the archaeologist and he passes the whip to a much younger Indy. The Chris Pratt character can have Harrison as Indy become his mentor and teacher. That’s the direction that I think they should go in.

If Spielberg and Ford returns without Lucas being involved, that’ll be awesome! I’ll admit that Lucas wasn’t the greatest storyteller so I’m actually kind of glad he’s gone. More creative freedom for Spielberg and Harrison.

I can absolutely see Harrison coming back for Indy in the next one ’cause Harrison has been expressing interest in returning to the role for years so never say never, people! It’s still a possibility! They should still go for the pass the torch to the young idea.

Looks like Steven Spielberg wants to direct new “Indiana Jones” movie after all…

Despite George Lucas no longer being involved in the “Indiana Jones” franchise, it seems that Steven Spielberg still wants to be involved directing these films and he wants to direct the reboot. Spielberg is not confirmed yet, he’s just interested and there is no script as of yet.

More here:

Steven Spielberg Hopes To Direct Chris Pratt In Indiana Jones Reboot

Will Harrison still be involved in some form, though? We’ll have to wait and see.

Spielberg has a lot of passion for the Indiana Jones character and you can see that he still does. As long as Spielberg wants to direct, I’m sure he’ll get it. I’ll go see it as long as Spielberg is directing, why not?
