Report: Mission Impossible 4 to hit theaters Dec. 16th 2011…

Even though I’m not much of a Mission Impossible fan, the 4th one is actually very exciting. I for one am looking forward to seeing the trailer for MI:4. We’ll probably see a teaser later this summer. I think a teaser for “MI:4” would be a perfect attachment to the “Expendables” movie when that film comes out in August. Hopefully, “MI:4” will be violent and action packed. I’m sure it will be. You may not see Tom Cruise as an action star, but believe it or not, he is an action star. He’s been in plenty of action movies from the past. 🙂

BREAKING NEWS: Tom Cruise officially signs on to MI: 4!!!!!

Tom Cruise has officially signed on to the next installment of the Mission Impossible series. If the trailer is good enough to make me want to go out and see it, maybe. I like Tom Cruise as an actor, I wasn’t a big fan of the MI series.

Report: Tom Cruise’s son, Connor, to become an actor just like his old man…will join the cast of “Red Dawn” remake…

Connor Cruise, who is the adopted son of Tom Cruise will follow his father’s dreams of becoming a movie star. Connor who is now 14 years old, will join the cast of the “Red Dawn” remake.

If you think about it, United Artists, the film company that Tom is the manager of is helping out with the release of the “Red Dawn” remake…so you can betcha Tom reccomended MGM his son to be signed on to the movie. This isn’t the first movie that Connor starred in, before this, he was in Will Smith’s drama “Seven Pounds”.

How cool would it be to be the son of a Hollywood icon? He must love being adopted to a big movie star like Tom Cruise to get easy fame.

There is no word whether or not J.J. will be directing again, he is just producing this one for now. Summer Redstone explains he healed the friendship with Tom and seems they are getting along again.

I was never really a fan of the Mission Impossible series, but this is great news to hear that Paramount put their differences aside for Tom.

Tom needs to stop being a jackass in the media, focus on his movies and not being such a big media whore.

Tom is a good actor, I liked him in “Tropic Thunder” and “Valkyrie”. Of course, I like Tom’s older films too. He is somewhat of a douche, but I hope he just improves his personality so he can get my respect back. It’s good to see Tom getting his career back on track.

Tom Cruise has finally decided to stop messing around with the media by ending his Scientology promotion and no more couch jumping in talk shows, by doing something more important in his life…reviving his film career. Cruise was successful at, “Tropic Thunder” and “Valkyrie”…now he wants a shot at starring in a movie with Denzel Washington in the Robert Ludlum thriller, “The Matarese Circle” based on the book.

It’s great to see Tom smarten up and getting back to movies, he came this close to killing his own movie career but he brought it all upon himself though. This movie sounds good, bring it on.

Colonel Claus Von Stauffenberg

See why it is appropriate that Tommy was picked for Stauffenberg. Tommy is identical to the actual Stauffenberg.

Check it out:

Left: The real Stauffenberg

Right: Tom Cruise

Another similar pic comparing the two:

Love Tommy or hate him, you can’t deny that he is perfect for Stauffenberg, I don’t think anybody else could pull off that role.

Now that I’ve seen the movie, it makes me want to shop for some history books and learning the entire history of that day on July 20th, 1944.

This wikipedia gives some info on that stuff:

I’m sure the Non Fiction books from the library or bookstores will give us a lot more than what Singer gave us in the film.

Film Review: Valkyrie

Starring: Tom Cruise, Terence Stamp, Tom Wilkinson

Directed by: Bryan Singer

Just got back from the mall from seeing “Valkyrie” this evening, and here is my review.

Synopsis: This film is a World War II story, taking place during the Nazi’s, Adolf Hitler era that is based on real life events in the history books. Tom Cruise plays Colonel Stauffenberg which he plots with a group of other German officers to kill Adolf Hitler, as his way of trying to take over Nazi power in order to end the war.

Stauffenberg is seriously injured in a battle in Africa, which causes him to lose his eye and other body parts, he is forced to wear an eye patch. However, he still keeps his eye that he took out himself as his way of faking that he actually has two eyes whenever he’s associating with the Nazi’s. Stauffenberg helps conceive Operation Valkyrie, which is a plan approved by Adolf Hilter. Stauffenberg later joins the German Resistance, and becomes the Chief of Staff to further his plot to kill Hitler which is planned on July 20th, 1944.

Stauffenberg’s plan on trying to kill Hitler fails, after the Nazis discovered his plan on trying to kill their leader.

I would like to add this film to the top 5 films of 2008. It was an excellent film. I liked it all the way through. The story is thrilling, unpredictable, and the acting is very good all around. Yes, Tom Cruise actually did a great job in it as well. Is this movie worthy for Best Picture in the Oscars? Definitely. I would like to see Terence Stamp get a nomination for “Best Actor in a Supporting Role” ’cause he did good in this.

The film has excellent action scenes as well. In the film, you would never know when it will come to a loud explosion. One time a group of Nazi soldiers are talking to each other and all of a sudden, BOOM!!!!! A huge explosion out of no where!!!

The movie was interesting, it was great pacing, the characters are good, and the actor who played Adolf Hitler did a very good job. What’s creepy about it though, that the actor who played Hitler almost looks exactly like the real Hitler.

In the theater I was in earlier tonight, I was surprised to see that it was a full theater, yep, a packed house. Don’t be surprised if “Valkyrie” moves up to no. 1 over the weekend on Sunday ’cause it could happen. I just love Bryan Singer’s work, he’s such an amazing director and one of my very favorite film makers. He’s made some really good movies like “The Usual Suspects”, “Apt Pupil”, “X-Men 1 and 2”, and “Superman: Returns”.

Why do so many people still go see Nazi and Hitler movies? I honestly think people has a fascination with Nazis and Hitler, that they like learning about them. Hitler is a controversial figure and people have a fascination with him whether people want to admit it or not. Nazis are being used for movies all the time, and even Indiana Jones used Nazis. People are fascinated with that stuff because it is interesting.

Please go see this even if you hate Tom Cruise. It’s an intense movie that’ll give you chills.

Score for “Valkyrie” = **** (4 stars as in excellent)
