Cool Video: Eminem’s new video, “Not Afraid” is just a great song!!!

I’m mostly into rock, metal and some country, but yeah, I can listen to some rap like I always say. As some of you may or may not know, Eminem, is one of my favorite rap artists. Always loved his music. The real slim shady that we “used to know” is back with a hit song that we can actually listen to. “Not Afraid” is actually a pretty sick song and tight. I love it a LOT! Really enjoyed the beat, the melody, and the rapping is actually quite good. Em’s last album, “Relapse” was pretty good, I enoyed it, but with his new song, “Not Afraid”, he returns to his roots. His old classic sound that he had back in the 90’s.

Listen here for yourself and you would see what I mean. I’m gonna get the new album. I like Eminem. Yes, I did see him live in concert once. Most rap music is crap, but you can’t deny that Eminem is a talented rapper, love him or hate him.

Report: Stacy Peterson getting close to being found????

Well it looks like Stacy Peterson maybe found very soon. It looks like the Peoria police is getting close to finding her body using search dogs. Of course, Peterson and his attorney called it ridiculous and gossip. Still maintaining Peterson’s innocence like always.

More on the story here:

http://www.foxnews.com/us/2010/06/05/following-new-lead-illinois-authorities-dig-body-stacy-peterson/

Well, it would be evidence if THEY DO find Stacy’s body buried there. If they find her body there this week, that would be amazing. I predict they WILL find her. Like everyone else, I always knew Drew Peterson killer her. Lets hope and pray they do find her body, so Drew can rot in prison for the rest of his miserable life. He is a cold blooded evil monster.

Thought: Woody Harrelson should play the Riddler in Batman 3 if the Riddler is picked…

If The Riddler is picked as the main villain for “Batman 3”, I think Woody Harrelson would be the perfect choice of actor to play the character. Woody looks almost exactly like Frank Gorshin from the TV series. Woody’s got the same look as the Riddler character, he’s got a great enough speaking voice for the character. I’m pretty sure Woody can laugh like the Riddler perfectly. Woody’s the perfect fit for the Riddler role, in my opinion.

As for who should play other Batman villains, another actor I can think of that could play the Penguin is Phillip Seymour Hoffman. He was actually rumoured to play the character years back but he denied it. Phillip is short and fat like the Penguin. Either him or Jack Black would be great for the Penguin.

As for the Catwoman, I know they won’t get Halle Berry, but lets hope Nolan doesn’t have her in mind. Honestly, Angelina Jolie might be great for Catwoman. Maybe Kate Winslet or Hillary Swank.

They need an actor who can play the villain with great acting chops, much like Heath Ledger’s Joker. I’m pretty sure Nolan won’t fail on the casting for the villain for Batman 3. He’s great at what he does.

Report: Christopher Nolan confirms no Joker in Batman 3, plus other Batman/Superman news…

Christopher Nolan finally speaks on his projects with “Batman” and “Superman” to Empire magazine. Chris says the Joker will not be the next villain ’cause he feels it’s wrong for Heath Ledger to be replaced. While he didn’t reaveal any villains for “Batman 3” yet, he did say, however, that the Penguin and Mr. Freeze could possibly be the next two villains for the next flick. Chris also says he didn’t officially sign on to direct “Batman 3” yet, because his only focus is working on the new movie, “Inception” that stars Leonardo Dicaprio. Chris is only mentoring, “Batman 3” and “Superman”.

As for Superman, Nolan didn’t speak much about it, but he says, the next Superman movie will not be a DC styled superhero like film. Nolan confirms David Goyer is writing the new Superman script, and Nolan says he will not direct the Superman movie. Nolan says he will try to help Warner Brothers find a different director with the right fit. Again, Nolan refuses to say who the villains will be for the next “Superman” movie.

More on it here:

http://www.darkhorizons.com/news/17419/nolan-talks-superman-batman

I’m sure, Nolan and the writers already have villains planned out for both films, they don’t want to reveal them publicly until the time is right. Just like they did with Heath Ledger’s Joker for “The Dark Knight”.

If you think about it, using Penguin for the next Batman movie would be a good idea ’cause I didn’t like the Danny Devito Penguin in “Batman: Returns”. The Penguin role needs to be done right. How are they going to find a  short and fat actor for the Penguin? Not many actors like that these days. Danny Devito would be too old to play the Penguin so I don’t see him reprising the role. If anything, one actor I can think of on who can play the Penguin is no one other than Jack Black, he is pretty short guy and overweight so he might be the right guy. I’m sure Jack Black can do the Penguin voice very well.

As for the villain for “Superman”, my pick is still Brainiac. Although I must say Terence Stamp returning as an aging General Zod would be badass though…

The Deadlift really is the king of all workouts…

This article explains the deadlift really nicely:

http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/drobson101.htm

It not only works the lower body of your legs, and the workout also works most of your upper body as well. When I tried this workout at the gym yesterday, I could feel it in most body parts explained in that article. My legs still feel kind of weird walking around. My shoulders and traps feel a little bit of it too. I took a day off from doing back workouts today ’cause the deadlift works most of your back anyways. Yes, the deadlift pretty much works out your whole body in one set. I plan to do this exercise more often.

Thought: “The Expendables”, the male version of “Sex and the City”???

“Sex and the City” is mostly known for women, so I guess you can say that, “The Expendables” is a movie for guys only. To be honest, “The Expendables” movie, and “Sex and the City” both seem to be similar in some way. Except for a different audience. “Sex and the City” is about women wanting to make their sex lives better while “The Expendables” is about muscle dudes wanting to fight and kick some asses.

“The Expendables” will only have a male audience, basically, a male audience of the younger generation from high school to college years. I doubt a lot of women would see, “The Expendables”. “Sex and the City” is an audience of mostly young women. Get my point? I look forward to seeing “The Expendables”, don’t get me wrong, but honestly, I’m more excited to the “A-Team” movie.

Oh and the reason I turned down, “Sex and the City 2” to wait for DVD instead was that I wasn’t in the mood to watch a comedy. I wanted to watch an action film, so I had a choice between, “Prince of Persia” or “Robin Hood”. So I obviously picked, “Robin Hood”. Although, I’ll admit that I would feel a little weird watching, “Sex and the City 2” in theater which can wait for DVD.

Dead Lift and Hack Squat

So, I’m already on the move of changing my workout routines around some. Starting to get bored of using the same machines for the legs and studying some barbell stuff. This morning I studied “Dead Lift” and the “Hack Squat” both on barbells. Read about them online to study the position and the movements. Then I tried them at the gym using a barbell without weights at first, using a mirror to make sure I’m doing it right. Then once I get the hang of it, I lifted about 75 lbs for both workouts. Not too heavy, it was still pretty light for me anyways. The “Dead Lift” is for the hamstrings and other lower/upper bodyparts, the “Hack Squat” is for quads and other parts. Both workouts were pretty brutal. Doing barbell stuff is way better than the machines. You can feel the burn. I’ll lift light for now, I don’t want to rush into lifting too heavy yet. I didn’t need a spotter for these workouts, ’cause they were really simple to do.

I’m trying to vary my workouts. Doing different exercises is good for the body. You won’t get better results by doing the same exercises and lifting the same weights all the time.

I do miss performing and playing on stage…

Believe it or not, I do have quite the fan following for my music. I had people come out to my past gigs because of my blog sites. I want to get back into performing again in the future. I took a hiatus from it, to get into fitness and hoping to write a new batch of songs which is what I’m still trying to do. Improve my guitar playing as well. Will even try to get a band going. Don’t ever think that I’m giving up music for good ’cause I will never give up. Never throw away your passions and dreams, no matter the situation. I will get back out to playing gigs again hopefully. When I write new songs that I’m proud of playing out, who knows, maybe I’ll start booking. Being on stage is a good time.

Film Review: Robin Hood

Starring: Russell Crowe, Cate Blanchett, Max Von Sydow, William Hurt, Mark Strong

Directed by: Ridley Scott

Today, on a day off of work, I decided to go to the mall to catch a movie. Yes, I decided to turn down, “Sex and the City 2” and wait for DVD instead, I will still see it, but not in theater. I will explain why in another blog post. Other than seeing a movie, I did buy the “Red Dead Redemption” video game for the PS3 and a few music CD’s as well. So I ended up seeing “Robin Hood” instead.

Here is my review:

Plot/Synopsis: Based upon the legendary fictional hero that robs the rich and gives to the poor, this film is just an introduction to the character. The film is taken place in the 13th century in England. King Richard was killed in a battle against the French, so it forced, Robin Hood to travel to Nottingham, which is taken over by an evil Sheriff and having trouble with taxes. That is where Robin meets Lady Marian (Blanchett) and of course, falls in love with her. While there, Robin puts together his own army with fighting skills, so he can fight against the French for freedom of his people.

Critics online have trashed this movie in a negative direction. Why? Mostly criticizing the film’s arrow shooting. Hey, does the arrow shootings in the film have to be perfect? Do they have to be like “Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves” the Kevin Costner version? I believe Ridley’s version of the arrow shooting was to be realistic. That’s my thought exactly when I saw the film. Critics trashed the film pretty harshly, I thought I was going to hate the film too…but I saw it ’cause I’m a fan of Ridley Scott movies. I’m not much of a Russell Crowe fan ’cause I think he’s an overrated actor. Russell has been in a few good films that I liked, films like “A Beautiful Mind”, “Gladiator”, “American Gangster”, and “3:10 to Yuma”, that’s it I believe.

Surprisingly I liked him in this movie, “Robin Hood”. A LOT. Actually, I LOVED IT. Ridley Scott did a fantastic job telling the Robin Hood story the way it was supposed to be. All the other Robin Hood films were good, the Erroll Flynn stuff, Kevin Costner, the Mel Brooks, “Men In Tights” were well done, but I think Ridley perfected the Robin Hood legacy.  If you know the Robin Hood story well, Ridley stayed true to it. As I watch this film, I actually felt like watching a UK movie ’cause that’s what it felt like. The camera work seems like it was low budget, trying to get a UK feel to it. The American actors did a good job with the English accent as well as Russell did too. In the film, Russell wore green tights of course, but he didn’t yet wear the green hat with the feather on it. Maybe they will get Russell to wear the green hat for the sequel?

The acting of all cast members was very good. The musical score was different and it felt like a Robin Hood movie with the scoring. It didn’t feel like that mainstream Robin Hood movie, “Prince of Thieves” at all. I didn’t find anything wrong with the film. It was thoroughly entertaining and I wasn’t bored even if the film was almost 2 and half hours long. Ridley and Russell did quite a few films together, but I think this was their best one. I see them two making this into a trilogy for sure. The action scenes were actually a blast and fun to watch, especially the big fight scene at the beach at the end of the movie was awesome.

If you’re a fan of the Robin Hood story, you should definitely see this!

Score for “Robin Hood” = **** (4 stars as in excellent)

Arnold is too rich to make a full time Hollywood return…

I watched Arnold’s tweetcast “Q&A” session earlier today in twitter. The popular question that everyone wants to know about Arnie is, what’s next for the Gov after his politics run is over with? Will he stick with politics? Will he return to Hollywood full time? Arnold’s answer on the tweet cast, was…well, he really didn’t quite answer the question. All he said was, “The last thing I want to do is think about what I want to do next”. Then he started rambling on about it. He didn’t say whether he would stick with politics or go back to movies, he just said he will continue to help make California a better state even if he is no longer governor.

Everyone wants Arnie to go back to leading roles in Hollywood but honestly, I don’t really care. Love him, don’t get me wrong, but he had a great career run. Most of his movies were huge money makers. He ended his leading role career with the Terminator series which is a terrific way to end your career on a high note. Why mess it up? His legacy? He should stay retired and keep doing cameos of other films like he’s been doing.

He doesn’t need Hollywood anymore. He’s too loaded and rich that he can do whatever he wants now. Maybe he will decide to return to leading roles in Hollywood someday but if he does, I don’t ever see him going back to Terminator. He’s too old to be playing that character now, don’t you think?
