Report: Linda Hogan is a nightmare at Sundance fest…

Linda Hogan, her new boyfriend (who is Nick’s best friend) and Nick attended the Sundance film festival earlier last weekend. They weren’t there for any reason. They didn’t have a film to promote or nothing like that, they were just there for one word…publicity. She was annoying the vendors by asking them to take a picture of her and she was making out with her new man publicily at the Festival.

Man, what a bitch. If the Hulkster was there to see all that, Hulk wouldn’t be happy about it and he would have dragged her right out of there. I’m glad Hulk and Linda aren’t together anymore. Now that Hulk is happily single, he can hook up with all the ladies he wants now. I never liked Linda anyways, Hulk deserves better.

Cool Video: Stevie Wonder, Usher and Shakira performing “Higher Ground”…

This performance is so killer, it’s crazy. It gave me goosebumps. Watching this on TV even got my head bopping up and down throughout the whole thing with a huge smile on my face. Such a perfect live performance. Kudos to this trio for braving the cold on a killer performance!! Awesome work guys!!!

Thought: The Inaugural Celebration…about the live music performances…

I watched “The Inaugural Celebration” on HBO tonight, just for something to watch on TV. I didn’t watch it for Obama, I just watched it for the music performances alone.

Most of it was a real sleeper and a total borefest. There were a few really good performances tonight though.

The ones that were good: John Mellencamp singing “Pink Houses”, Garth Brooks doing a medley mix of songs (the dude still has the talent and the super stardom like he always had)…also Stevie Wonder, Usher, and Shakira tore the house down when they did the song “Higher Ground”, man that performance was amazing, usually I don’t like Usher’s music but he did really great in Washington D.C. The last performance was a surprise appearance of Pete Seeger singing the traditional folk song, “This Land Is Your Land”, that’s a history making performance right there. It was great.

I do wanna say that U2 was really bad tonight. I love the band U2, they are my heroes, but tonight, U2 sucked horribly. Bono sang like shit, the band sounded like shit playing outside. Yeah, I know it was freezing cold outside in Washington D.C., maybe that could explain them, playing like crap.

Even though I don’t really care for Barack Obama all that much, the only good thing about him getting elected, is President W. Bush being gone in two more days. That’s the only good thing about Tuesday is Dubya being gone. Good riddance to Bush.

Thought: The Phoenix career switch may have been inspired by his sister, Rain Phoenix…

Pictured above, Joaquin himself without the beard and his sister Rain. Rain Phoenix is a musician and singer herself, she has a band that she still plays with called the Papercranes. Rain is the front woman, guitar player and singer for her band. Check them out here, they actually sound really good.

River Phoenix, the actor and brother of the family, was also a musician when he was alive. River himself played guitar and sang.

So, it’s a proven fact that Joaquin grew up in a musical family. Before Joaquin filmed, “Walk the Line”, he was never a musician, he had to learn how to be one for the film. After that film and knowing how his family members are musicians as well, Joaquin wanted to be like his family.

Why did Joaquin choose rap/hip hop? He claims in that People article below, he has chosen to do that genre because it’s good storytelling. I would like to see Joaquin get into rock/country ’cause he sounded so good when he sang those Johnny Cash songs on the “Walk the Line” soundtrack.

Anyway, as far as Phoenix’s Lavo performance goes, that may have started out pretty bad, but hey, all rappers start out bad and horrible when they first start so Joaquin has a lot more work.

Maybe Joaquin will impress us all with his rapping when his album comes out. Who knows. He’s producing the album with Sean Combs who is a profesional rapper and Combs will give Phoenix good rapping skills. Phoenix sucked at the Lavo ’cause I think he was simply so drunk and fucked up. Maybe the Phoenix will get better in his rapping in the future. This is only the beggining.

Report: Could Iron “Mike” Tyson land himself in the Oscars for Best Documentary???

Tyson’s documentary film about the legendary fighter from Catskill,  N.Y. is getting a huge buzz at Sundance film festival this weekend. A bigger buzz than any other film being shown there. Could the famous ear biting boxer get an Oscar nod when the nominations are revealed this Thursday? It could happen, ya never know.

See this interesting article here:

While I do not like Tyson myself, his documentary “Tyson” looks pretty interesting to me and I’ll probably see it when it hits the DVD shelves.
