Brock’s new year’s resolutions…

Since New Year’s Eve is tomorrow, I figure I would share a few of my New Year’s Resolutions of 2009…here they are…

1. Take fitness and working out more seriously – I’ve actually been working out and been exercising for the past several years or more but I’ve never really taking it seriously. Now I want to take it more seriously. No, I don’t need to lose weight since I’m not an overweight person. No, I am not training to beat somebody up since I’m not a violent person. I want to get fit ’cause I’ve kind of grown interest in becoming a little more muscular. I do several exercises on a regular basis, but I’m sort of getting into bodybuilding. There is a work out gym in my hometown of Greenwich and when the Spring comes, I’ll probably buy subscriptions to work out there, it’s like a mini YMCA. I just want to feel good and to look good. Prove to people that I can be a little more physical.

2. Get a better paying job, a job that I actually like  – no explanation needed

3. Get an education and hopefully go to college – no explanation needed

4. Get back into writing fiction stories again – writing stories is what I did before I picked up the guitar, becoming an author was my original dream before music and I’ve picked up the writing dream again.

5. Hopefully get my first tattoo – I’ve been wanting to get some for a long time.

Feel free to name yours.

Report: James Cameron’s “The Terminator” blasts it’s way to the Library of Congress in the film registry…

“The Terminator” that stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton and Michael Beihn is now added to the National Film Registry in the Library of Congress, amongst other classics. Just the first “Terminator” only that was directed by Jimmy Cameron, not the other three Terminator films.

Everybody loves “T2:  Judgement Day” to be the best Terminator film of the series, but honestly, I find that the first Terminator is the best of the series. I honestly love Arnold as the bad guy Terminator way more.

Playing “Dead Space” on my new 32 inch flat screen LCD TV!!!

So last night, I went out to Best Buy and bought myself a new, 32 ” Flat screen LCD TV. It’s great. I was playing “Dead Space” through my new TV last night and man, this new TV makes the graphics of the ps3 games even more insane!!! OMG!!! I wanted to find the perfect TV that’s great for video gaming and this is the one. I can play ps3 games in High Definition now, and that’s what makes the graphics even better.

I can’t watch regular cable TV in HD yet, but I’m still trying to figure that out. Workin’ on that.

My next step is to start saving for a 5.1  4 speaker surround system, and that’ll be my home theater! 🙂

Report: Fox vs. Warner Bros. feud won’t end anytime soon, studios will still battle over “Watchmen”…

Fox wants to battle Warner Bros. for the “Watchmen” movie? Well Warner Bros. studios is not backing down for a settlement or an appeal. Warner Bros. said, “BRING IT ON FOX”, the fight is still going on!!!

The Jan. 20th trial is still on and I too am looking forward to that day to see how that feud is going to play out. That Jan. 20th trial will be pretty heated. I’m sure the trial will be full of back and forth shouting.

I’m still feeling that WB’s will win, they’ll figure a way to buy the distrubition rights with good attorney’s.

Cool Video: “Barack the Magic Negro” parody is LOL hilarious!!!

After seeing the media raging on about the “Barack the Magic Negro” parody which is spoofing the famous children’s song “Puff the Magic Dragon”, I had to go through youtube to listen to myself. I can’t stop laughing. It is absolutely hilarious if you don’t take it seriously.

The lyrics in the song is actually pretty truthful and I agree with some of it.

Lyrics and video to the song below. Whether you hate the song or not, I’m willing to bet everyone that listened to it laughed their ass off. The singing is very well done though. I like the musical arrangement too. I wonder what Weird Al would think of this?

Enjoy or not.

“Barack the Magic Negro” lyrics

Barack the Magic Negro lives in D.C.

The L.A. Times, they called him that

‘Cause he’s not authentic like me.

Yeah, the guy from the L.A. paper

Said he makes guilty whites feel good

They’ll vote for him, and not for me

‘Cause he’s not from the hood.

See, real black men, like Snoop Dog,

Or me, or Farrakhan

Have talked the talk, and walked the walk.

Not come in late and won!

[refrain] Oh, Barack the Magic Negro, lives in D.C.

The L.A. Times, they called him that

‘Cause he’s black, but not authentically.

Oh, Barack the Magic Negro, lives in D.C.

The L.A. Times, they called him that

‘Cause he’s black, but not authentically.

Some say Barack’s “articulate”

And bright and new and “clean.”

The media sure loves this guy,

A white interloper’s dream!

But, when you vote for president,

Watch out, and don’t be fooled!

Don’t vote the Magic Negro in –

‘Cause — ’cause I won’t have nothing after all these years of sacrifice

And I won’t get justice. This is about justice. This isn’t about me, it’s about justice.

It’s about buffet. I don’t have no buffet and there won’t be any church contributions,

And there’ll be no cash in the collection plate.

There ain’t gonna be no cash money, no walkin’ around money, no phoning money.

Now, Barack going to come in here and –

Celebrating the work of Ron Howard…

Ron Howard, who is most famous for directing such iconic movies with some big name stars and most famous for playing the role of Richard Cunningham in the hit TV series “Happy Days”, celebrates his 50 years of working on film. In the 50’s, he started off as an actor…acting in various TV shows and movies. As time went along, Howard moved on to directing and acting both at the same time. Later on, Howard gave up on acting for good and just concentrated on directing only.

My top 5 favorite Ron Howard films here in order, these are in my opinion his best directed films:

1. A Beautiful Mind

2. Willow

3. The Missing

4. Splash

5. Appollo 13

Feel free to name your favorites.

Report: Stallone’s “Expendable’s” script review at AICN…possible SPOILERS!!!

An editor at AICN read the script of Stallone’s “The Expendables” the action film full of big name stars, there are some spoilers in this review but nothing major so it doesn’t reveal anything big.

One thing I can say though that Stallone maybe playing a character named Barney, Dolph will only get a few small scenes in the film, and Stallone wrote a character who is a gay guy in the mercernaries group and he wrote in an extra black character for the mercernaries. The black guy isn’t played by Forrest Whittaker, the black guy is played by an actor who isn’t signed yet (Carl Weathers, Wesley Snipes anyone?).

Like the reviewer said the script may not be the final draft and the character names for the actors  is all speculation so I wouldn’t call this official.

Read this interesting review here:

I hope Sly can get Carl Weathers back on the big screen again, that would be fuckin’ cool. I would take Carl reuniting with Sly again over Wesley. I never liked Wesley Snipes that much and honestly, I find “Demolition Man” to be one of Sly’s worse movies.
