Cool Video: Lisbeth Salander is coming to the USA, bitches!

David Fincher’s redband teaser for “The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo” leaks on the internet a week early. The film looks amazing and I’m already very excited for the film. David Fincher is a phenomenal film maker, I love the guy’s work. I’m sure this film will be great. The Lisbeth Salander character deserves to get known in the US.

Trent Reznor covered Led Zeppelin’s “Immigrant Song” with Karen O (singer of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs) on the lead vocals.

This is a well made trailer. A perfect way to get everyone pumped up for the film. Can’t wait! The HD version of this trailer should hit online next week.

Netflix Pick (DVD): Faster

Last night, I finally saw the movie “Faster”, a Netflix DVD rental starring Dwayne Johnson and Billy Bob Thornton. The story tells of a man who was a former con-man who is out to avenge the murder of his brother, after he was double-crossed by other men he worked with during a bank robbery years back and now he plans on killing them all. Dwayne Johnson plays an un-named Driver, in which he drives a classic car that is pretty powerful and drives fast.

I thought this was Dwayne Johnson’s best action flick. I know Dwayne tries to do other genres like family films, comedy and drama flicks, but to be honest, I think action movies is where Dwayne belongs in. He’s more successful in the action genre, I think we all know that. The writing and the plot was actually pretty good. It’s a good revenge story. Good casting too. I like Billy Bob Thornton in the movie. Maggie Grace the former “Lost” star played the killer’s girlfriend in the film. Mike Epps just ruled.

The violence in this movie is brutal and can get graphic too. Dwayne played a lot of tough guys in his action flicks over the years, but I think this is his best tough guy role. Dwayne doesn’t talk much in this movie, “Faster”. He just goes around and does his job, killing the people responsible for the murder of his brother. There are some twist and turns in the writing, so the movie was unpredictable. It did a good job trying to make you think whether or not Dwayne’s character, the Driver, was good or evil.

I love Dwayne, the action star, and he needs to keep doing action movies. I haven’t seen “Fast Five” yet, but I’ll wait on DVD on that one. I really hope Dwayne gets casted for the “Expendables” sequel because Dwayne and Sly Stallone would be a great team up. I can see Dwayne playing a good villain in “The Expendables” sequel where Sly and the Rock have a major fight scene. So come on Sly, get the Rock for the next “Expendables” movie.

I thought “Faster” was the best action movie that came out this year. Do yourself a favor and check it out soon.

RANT: Squashing the mentally handicapped accusations…

One thing that the internet seems to enjoy doing is call me a mentally handicapped or a retarded person. You know what? I get that quite a lot. I have no choice but to deal with it and ignore it all. Funny thing is, that a lot of people who call me this are mostly people who don’t even know me as a person. It’s mostly people who haven’t even met me as well. Believe what you want to believe. I’m not mentally retarded or handicapped or what ever you want to call me.

This isn’t high school, kids. In the adult world, you don’t call other people that. It’s disrespectful and wrong. If I was right there in front of your face, would you say that to me in person? No, I didn’t think so. If someone said that to my face, I wouldn’t be very friendly either.

I never judged other people. No matter who they are or what they look like, you’re no better than others. Anybody who says this stuff deserves a punch in the face.

“Handicapped” or “Retarded” are the wrong words to describe those kind of people anyway. It’s offensive and childish. I may not speak perfectly, I may not be a hot looking guy, and may still have a lot to learn, but that doesn’t mean I’m “handicapped” or “retarded”.

People who call others those things are probably low lives with nothing going on. People like that need to grow up.

Brock’s Top 15 favorite comedy films of all times…

With “American Reunion” coming out soon, this inspired me to do a list of my favorite comedy films of all times. I need to have a good laugh once in a while.

I’ll name 15 of my favorites at the top of my head, in no particular order. Enjoy the list, all.

  • Monty Python & The Holy Grail – The best Terry Gilliam flick ever! This film is a classic, especially the hilarious killer bunny scene.
  • U.H.F. – This “Weird” Al Yankovic comedy is one of my favorites of all time. It wasn’t very big & successful but I thought it was one of the great comedies in the 80’s. Slapstick done the right way. I love this movie.
  • Ernest Goes to Jail – This is the best Ernest P. Worrell movie. I love all Ernest films but this one is my favorite. I own it on DVD too.
  • Pee Wee’s Big Adventure – I know you are but what am I?
  • Analyze This/That – I love both the Analyze movies, with Robert Deniro and Billy Crystal.
  • The Money Pit – This is Tom Hanks best comedy in the 80’s. I’ve always loved this flick.
  • The Burb’s –  Another great Tom Hanks classic.
  • Anger Management – This is my favorite Adam Sandler movie, him and Jack Nicholson playing together is fantastic.
  • School of Rock – This film makes me smile every time I watch it. My favorite Jack Black movie.
  • Groundhog Day – My favorite Bill Murray comedy. Another movie I’ll never get tired of watching.
  • Superbad – This was the only Michael Cera movie that I liked. A very enjoyable film with lots of laughs.
  • The Police Academy – The Police Academy series are great but I’ve always loved the first one more.
  • Spies Like Us – An excellent classic starring Dan Aykroyd and Chevy Chase. I grew up on this film.
  • Dirty Rotten Scoundrels – My favorite Steve Martin movie starring Michael Caine. I’ve seen this flick so many times. Every time it was on TV, I would watch it.
  • Plains, Trains & Automobiles – Another great Steve Martin flick, also starring the late, John Candy, RIP.

There are plenty of more comedies I enjoy, but the ones I listed above are my absolute favorites.

BREAKING NEWS: Shannon Elizabeth set to reprise role as Nadia for “American Reunion”…

Now you can call this an official, “American Pie” reunion because the whole gang is confirmed to return! Just announced today, Shannon Elizabeth is on board to reprising her role as Nadia for “American Reunion”.

The first movie made her famous because of her nude scene in the film. I’m pretty sure she’ll have another nude scene for the new, “American Reunion”, film too.

Deadline, reports.

I really loved the first, “American Pie” movie, but I didn’t like the sequels though. The first one was actually a great film.

While I mostly watch action, horror and drama films…I like to watch a comedy once in a blue moon. Watching a funny comedy can really brighten up your mood.

Maybe I’ll write up a list of some of my favorite comedy films of all times.

Report: Amy Winehouse turns herself into rehab again…

Amy Winehouse, the UK pop star, has turned herself into rehab once again. She wants to sober up for her upcoming European tour this summer.

TMZ, reports.

Some people find it weird but I fucking love Amy Winehouse. I love her music. I wish she would go back in the studio to record a new album, because she hasn’t done a new one since “Back to Black”. I hope her rehab goes well, ’cause I have this feeling it won’t. She might have to cancel her shows in Europe if she doesn’t get well.

RANT: People online have the worst communication skills ever, fact…

Why is there too much hate and negativity online? Why is there so much drama? It’s because most people are illiterate when it comes to online communication. Most people are horrible at it. This is why I try my best to stay out of online discussion of any kind. This is why I have my own blog site where I can have my own little space to speak my mind and keep away from everything else.

It’s hard getting into discussions and debates about things online. I try to stay away from it as much as possible. I don’t go to other forums and other blogs that much for this very reason anymore.

I don’t see how my internet personality is that bad when certain people think it is. I’m just a dude that enjoys speaking my mind like a lot of people. Most people think they can come online and say what they want, but when I do it, that makes me the badguy, all of a sudden. People are really weird that way. It happens when I disagree with other people and they get mad.

I get wrongfully judged of being a “troll” or a “hater” or whatever.

When I think other people are wrong with what they say in discussion debates, other people are going to think they are “right”, no matter what I say. It’s the same thing with music discussions. The second you say negative things about a band that everyone likes, their fans will defend them no matter what.

The thing you have to ask is, am I offended at the public backlash I get from people online? Do I get upset about it? No. I actually enjoy it. You gotta have balls. I think if you’re going to speak your mind and piss everyone off, you’re doing something right like I’ve said a few times before. It means you grabbed everyone’s immediate attention. They get mad because you are probably, “right”.

I’m just not afraid to speak my mind on things. If something is on my mind, I need to get it off my chest. People can believe what they want to believe, I’ll always be the same person.

What I want in music…

Some people wonder what my goals are in music. What I hope to achieve. Many bands & musicians obsess with wanting to become popular and successful. That’s stuff is nice. I like all that stuff too. Like all musicians, I want to be recognized and hopefully become successful. The problem that most bands have is that most bands make music as to entertain the audience. That’s how I look at most bands around the area. I look at them as entertainers, not actual musicians. Now before I get flamed for this topic, let me explain what I mean. Most bands want to get people dancing and get them wild. That’s pretty much, the entertainment I’m talking about.

I would like bands to concentrate on the music more. They should be writing good songs, where people can actually listen to them. Make songs where they can actually sit down and listen. I never cared about hit songs and never cared about pop music.

This is why I admire, Sean Rowe. He’s the type of songwriter where you want to actually sit and listen. He doesn’t care about making pop songs and doesn’t care about making people dance to them. It’s about the music. He just wrote songs however he wanted. I’m sure people want him to write pop songs that you could dance to, but he just writes whatever comes to him. Not giving a rats ass what anyone else thinks and writing songs how you want to.

That’s how I always felt about my music. Wrote songs however I wanted to write them. People want me to go back to writing serial killer and horror songs again, but I can’t go back to that. Would I ever write another song similar to “Evil Fred” again? No. Probably never. I’ll still play “Evil Fred” and my older songs at my gigs, but my future songs will concentrate on real & honest things. Like politics, current news, protest songs, etc.

I like to look at my live gigs as an opportunity to show off my songs in front an audience. Not to be some pop entertainer like most musicians around here. I think you get my point now.
