Thought: The Governator keeping himself busy in politics…

Governor Schwarzenegger has been keeping himself busy in politics in California lately. Signing all these new bills, and making new laws in Cali. He’s been doing everything from honoring Harvey Milk, being honored to Parkland, signs a new solar energy bill, vetoing the puppy mill, signing a new DUI law, etc.

His latest is signing a bill against the paparazzi’s in Hollywood. Making it easier for celebs to sue against media and making it harder for paps to shoot pics of celebs without their consent.

Obviously, Arnold was a huge movie star before his political career, so he knows what it’s like to be stalked by the paps and knows what it’s like being in the tabloids. I know how much Arnold hates the paps, you think he’s doing it for himself and his family, but I don’t think so. Arnold still supports Hollywood and his fellow film actors, so he wants to help all celebs. I had a feeling Arnold would make a law like this against the paps.

Celebs are human beings too and they deserve their privacy. So this is one thing Arnold did that I actually agree with. It’s about time!

RIP: Patrick Swayze 1952 – 2009

Just coming home from work and finding out that one of my favorite actors that I’ve admired for years couldn’t survive the pancreatic cancer. Yes, I was a longtime fan of this guy’s acting for years. Some of my favorite movies he has starred in were “Roadhouse”, “Point Break” and “Ghost”. He also had a great role in the movie, “The Outsiders”. “Dirty Dancing” was good, but it was never really my favorite film, I liked his other films the most.

This is an extremely HUGE loss in the movie industry since the death of Heath Ledger. Patrick Swayze was an important actor in Hollywood. It was too soon to lose him and we weren’t ready to lose him yet.

Patrick was such a great guy. There was never anything bad said about him over the years, a talented actor and he seemed very down to earth.

RIP Patrick, another legend gone this year.

RIP: John Hughes 1950 – 2009

Legendary 80’s film maker, John Hughes, is another icon gone this summer. He died in New York City while out for a morning stroll in the streets of Manhattan, he fell and suffered a heart attack. He was staying in NYC for a little while to visit family members.

John Hughes is the director of such iconic movies as, “The Breakfast Club”, “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off”, “Uncle Buck”, “Plains Trains and Automobiles”, “Curly Sue”, and more. If it wasn’t for John, then stars like Anthony Michael Hall, Macaulay Culkin, Mathew Broderick, and Molly Ringwald wouldn’t have gotten their fame.

The same goes for rock bands like the Psychedellic Furs and Simple Minds. John Hughes included the Simple Minds song “Don’t You Forget About Me” for the “Breakfast Club” movie, which the song became an essential hit song of all times.

John Hughes was one of the most talented film makers in Hollywood back in the 80’s. John hasn’t directed a new movie since 1991’s “Curly Sue”, but he has written a handful of scripts over the years.
