After the Les Grossman role, prepare for even more dancing Tom Cruise on the big screen. Tom is closing in on a deal to star as Jaxx in the “Rock of Ages” musical. Jaxx is a character who sang Bon Jovi’s “Wanted: Dead or Alive”.

The Hollywood Reporter, reports.

We all know that Tom can dance good, but the question we all want to know is, can he sing? Yes, he can do that too.  He always had a passion for music.

Report: Arnold to Hollywood, “I’m back”!!!

Arnold makes it official on his twitter, that he is officially coming back to Hollywood. The CAA is an entertainment and sports agency, that helps celebrities and movie stars find work in the entertainment business.

I wonder what Arnold’s first movie role will be now that he’s no longer governor? Hope it will be an action movie. It’s probably going to be that “Wings As Eagles” movie he’s been looking at for a long time.

Anyhow, I’m pretty sure the makers of the Terminator franchise will beg Arnold to return to the leading role for “Terminator 5”. Will Christian Bale star along with Arnold for the next Terminator flick, hopefully? I’m sure Arnold will get a longer role for the “Expendables” sequel.

I just hope Arnie will return to Terminator. I liked, “Terminator: Salvation”, it’s actually a great movie, but still, no Arnold. I want Arnold himself, not CGI Arnold. Hopefully he’ll still do action movies. I’m sure he will because Sly is still doing action movies. Did you know that Sly is a year older than Arnold? It’s true, look it up yourself.

Cool Video: “X-Men: First Class” trailer finally online!

Well here it is, the trailer for “X-Men: First Class”. I was at first a little worried about this movie, wondering if it’ll be any good, but I’m very impressed with the trailer, so I’m pretty much sold to this movie. Looks really good. It’s the prequel to the first X-Men movie. Tells the story of Professor Xavier and Magneto. Jennifer Lawrence (the “Winter’s Bone” actress) plays Mystique. I’m definitely seeing this on June 3rd,  hell yeah! I love X-Men!

Report: Julia Roberts will play the Evil Queen in “The Brother’s Grimm: Snow White” movie…

Ever since the “Brother’s Grimm: Snow White” live action movie was announced, I was very interested in the film. It sounded pretty cool, but I’m no longer interested. Why? Because Julia Roberts is confirmed to play the Evil Queen in the film. I can’t stand Julia Roberts. She’s overrated and can’t act. She’s also not a sexy redhead. I don’t see how people thinks she’s that beautiful.

This story takes the Disney animated version to a live action modern version. It has the similar plot to the original.

See the story here at, Deadline.

I’m a huge fan of the original Disney “Swow White”, own the DVD in my collection.

In defense of the Robin character…

Why is there a lot of hatred for this Robin character? I don’t understand it! Whenever a new Batman movie is on the way, and whenever the Robin character is mentioned, the character will get a lot of negative criticism by the fans. A new rumor for Christopher Nolan’s “Dark Knight: Rises” hit the web recently that Robin might be introduced to the new film. It kind of makes sense to bring in Robin for the next film. If you’re going to use Bane as the main villain for the next Dark Knight flick, might as well use Robin then. Bane was mostly used in “Batman & Robin” comics and animated series.

Why was the character, Robin, brought into the Batman franchise? Try to remember that Bruce Wayne’s parents  were murdered  in a random mugging in the alleys of Gotham. Bruce  had nothing growing up. His parents being murdered, ruined his life forever. So Bruce trained himself into crime fighting to what he would become, Batman, later on. Batman needed a crime fighting partner. So Bruce, preferred that partner to be young. When he got together with Dick Grayson the first Robin, Bruce taught him detective work, taught him some fighting skills and acrobatic stuff. The reason for Robin is that not only that he would be a good crime fighting partner, Bruce is trying to recreate what he lost in his childhood, a family. Bruce wanted to be a part of something he never had growing up.

Even if Robin may possibly be used for the next Batman flick, I don’t think it’s going to be throughout the whole movie. Maybe Robin maybe mentioned very briefly, maybe he will get a small cameo at the end of the movie or somewhere in the middle. Robin have always been an important character of the Batman franchise. He was created hoping to attract children to the Batman franchise too.

I have no problem with the Robin character. Robin is also a useful crime fighting partner. He is smarter than Batman. Faster than Batman and more mysterious. I find it kind of funny how a lot of people like Hit-Girl from “Kick Ass” and everyone is hating on Robin, what’s wrong with that picture? What ever they do with Robin, I’m sure Chris Nolan won’t fail us. In Christopher Nolan, I trust.

Film Review: 127 Hours

Starring: James Franco
Directed by: Danny Boyle

So last night, I went to the Crossgates Mall in Albany, to see the movie, “127 Hours”. I wanted to see that film badly, been wanting to see it for a long time. Plus, I was trying to catch up with all 10 Best Pictures nominations for this year’s Oscars. I’ve seen “The King’s Speech” earlier this week in theater at Wilton Mall, and seen “The Kids Are Alrigh” via Itunes movie rental. I had to see “127 Hours” in Crossgates ’cause it wasn’t playing here. My sister and her boyfriend were going to see “127 Hours” at Crossgates and they were nice enough to let me come along. Yes, we went during the bad weather last night. It was a risky trip to Albany but it was worth it. I have officially seen all 10 Oscar Best Picture nominations. Now that I’ve seen all 10 Best picture nominees, I still say, “Winter’s Bone” is the best one out of all them. Now on with my review:

Plot/Synopsis: This is a story about the real life mountain climber, Aron Ralston, who is played by James Franco. Aron goes on a mountain climbing adventure in the canyons of Utah. Aron goes to the famous Blue John Canyons. While there, he runs into two young women on a hiking trip. The women were lost, and Aron tries to help them find the right way. Aron decided to have some fun with the two women by going swimming with them, after finding a large pool of water at the bottom of a canyon. The two women invites Aron to a party, then they left. Aron goes on with his adventure. While Aron travels through the canyons, he had a freak accident by falling into a canyon and a huge boulder landed on his arm, leaving him stuck there for days. He tries his best to survive and even tries to escape.

This film is the same director who did “Slumdog Millionaire”, Danny Boyle. I honestly thought, “127 Hours” was the better film. “127 Hours” is a very realistic movie, and it’s something that could happen to anybody in real life. It’s obviously a movie about survival when going on dangerous adventures like this. The reason this film is so good, ’cause it goes through different emotions. The film has a mix of fun, comedy, thrills, and chills. Yes, the film is kind of scary too. In some scenes you will be kind of creeped out. The film did a good job trying to get you to guess whether he would survive or die. In the film, while he was stuck in the rock, the film had flashbacks of his past. He would have a video camera and a regular digital camera to entertain himself. He survived with the little food he had in his backpack and drank little water from the water bottle he had with him.

I thought James Franco did a great job. His acting was phenomenal and he looked exactly like the real life, Aron Ralston. The film was brilliantly shot as you will see a lot of split screens and impressive special effects during the flashback scenes. I would like to see, “127 Hours” win Best Picture for the Oscars, but sadly it probably won’t happen. I also want to see “Winter’s Bone” win Best Picture, but I have a bad feeling that “The Social Network” or “King’s Speech” will win.

Back to “127 Hours”, the film was a thrill ride. I was never bored to death. You should definitely check this film out yourself. “127 Hours” is a really strong and powerful story. The film is similar to “Cast Away” with Tom Hanks, but “127 Hours” is better.

Score for “127 Hours” = (**** 4 stars as in excellent)

Report: Will Ursa be the main villain for the next “Superman” movie???

Superman’s undisclosed villain have been leaked to the web a couple of days ago. That villain happens to be Ursa. One of the three super-villains from “Superman: The Movie” and “Superman II”, who had General Zod and Non by her side. Ursa is that scary and evil looking woman, pictured above, who was originally played by, Sarah Douglas.

It is rumored that three different actresses are in the runners-up for the role, Alice Eve, Diane Kruger, and Rosamund Pike. Read the full article, here.

Today, Diane Kruger, just denied involvement with the role.

The character of Ursa have not yet been confirmed by Warner Bros. or Chris Nolan but I’m sure we’ll hear from them soon on whether this news is true or not.

Many Superman fans hate this idea I’m noticing because some don’t want another Kryptonian as the villain. Honestly, I think having Ursa as the main villain for the next Superman movie a good idea. As long as they don’t have General Zod and Non by her side, it could be an original movie, and not be a remake of Superman II. The Ursa character could be used more, as she wasn’t used much in the Superman comics, animated series, and the films.

Ursa is a character who hates men and she enjoys killing men. The only reason she teamed up with General Zod and Non, even if they are men is because they have similar powers as her. Superman having a female villain would be cool. I thought Ursa was a great character in “Superman II”, it’s one of those villains that makes you want to really hate. If they use Ursa for the next movie, they’ll probably make her sexier looking though.

Report: Stephen King, the man himself, speaks on the big screen version of “The Stand”!!!

Stephen King himself, is quick on responding to “The Stand” remake that is greenlighted to hit the big screen. King wrote to Entertainment Weekly, speaking his honest thoughts, and they aren’t too kindly either. He says, no actor would be able to top the performance of Gary Sinise as Stu Redman, he thought Gary’s performance was the best. King suggest  Jake Gyllenhaal to take over the role. King admits he never knew about this until the news hit hard on the internet, so King obviously browse the web like all of us. Even King knows that this would be tough to make this a 2 hour movie, but he said a trilogy could work. He wants Billy Bob Thornton to play the Trashcan Man. He also joked there would be a lot of heavy metal music for the soundtrack.

Read more on it,  here.

Ouch! Sounds like he’s not too happy with the remake and likes the  mini series better! Even King can be critical of his own projects!

Film Review: The King’s Speech

Starring: Colin Firth, Helena Bonham Carter, Geoffrey Rush

Directed by: Tom Hooper

So today I decided to go see the  movie, “The King’s Speech”. Here is my review.

Plot/Synopsis: The story revolves around Prince Albert, Duke of York (Colin Firth) who is about ready to become King George the VIth. Prince Albert must prepare for a major speech when he becomes King George VI, must do a radio speech for a large audience. However, Prince Albert has a very bad speaking problem, aka, speech impediment. Prince Albert’s wife, Elizabeth (Helena Bonham Carter) tried to get her husband to work with a speech therapist named, Lionel Logue (Geoffrey Rush). Prince Albert must improve his speaking skills to prepare for the day he becomes, King George VI.

I saw this film because of the Oscar buzz, obviously. I wanted to see why it got the  most nominations. I can see why, because the film is really good. The movie was actually entertaining and fun. It has a very huge chance of sweeping up all the awards at the Oscars. Sorry to say. Of course, I was most impressed with Colin Firth’s acting. The man was amazing. Probably the best acting I’ve seen in a long time, so I know he will win Best Actor, no matter what happens. The script was really good, the drama actually kept me at the edge of my seat, and it kept me guessing. It’s a thinking movie for sure. To make the movie not boring, they added a lot of humor through it.

I know this a short review, but as long you love a film so much, there’s not much to say about it, since it is perfect and nothing wrong with it. The film was fantastic, and worth seeing. Definitely go check this one out.

Score for “The King’s Speech” = **** (4 stars as in “excellent”)

Report: Sometimes dead is better…yet another Stephen King movie on the way to the big screen, “Pet Sematary” re-boot greenlighted…

First, “The Dark Tower” with Ron Howard, next here comes, “The Stand”, and now here comes the “Pet Sematary” re-boot!!! There is quite a lot of Stephen King movies on the way to the big screen! The “Pet Sematary” re-boot will be written by “1408” writer, Matthew Greenberg.

The story revolves around the Creed family moving to a new home. When just settling in their new home, their son is killed. An old cemetery was found, it was said that when you bury the dead in that cemetery, they come back to life. Louis Creed, the main character, takes his dead son to the cemetery to bring him back to life. When his son did come back to life, he ended up being evil. The original film starred, Dale Midkiff, Fred Gwyne and Denise Crosby.

Read more on the story, here.

Hmmmm, sounds like a perfect project for Rob Zombie! Imagine what Rob Zombie could do to it? He could make a gruesome and disturbing version.

So you ask, what’s with all the Stephen King movies being greenlighted lately? Well for one, he’s the most famous author in the world. He’s an icon. Hollywood wants to do films on everyone one of his books as they possibly can. Plus, Stephen writes his books as if they were a movie. I’m also sure that Stephen had a hand in getting these movies greenlighted. He would want Hollywood to do movies on all of his books. Stephen wrote screenplays for most of his own movies as well.

I’m such a huge Stephen King fan. I’m obsessed with his writing. I’ve been reading his books ever since I was a kid in high school. Collected all of them. I still buy his new books every time he comes out with a new one. I just got his new short story collection, “Full Dark, No Stars” which I will read soon. I’m reading the Harry Potter series right now. Stephen King is my favorite author, die hard fan.
