Report: Interview with Jason Segel director of new “Muppets” movie…

There’s an interview with Jason Segel who is making the new “Muppets” movie for Walt Disney. Jason Segel reveals that every character from the Muppets is returning: Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Fozzie, Gonzo, The Animal, Sam the Eagle, the Swedish Chef, Scooter, Mr. Waldorf, Statler, Zoot, Janice, Dr. Teeth, Sgt. Floyd Pepper, Beaker, Lew Zealand, Rizzo the rat, etc. Like he said, the whole gang!

He also said they plan to keep the new Muppet movie very traditional and similar to the first three “The Muppet Movie”, “The Great Muppet Caper” and “Muppets Take Manhatten”. In other words, the next Muppet movie will be a serious one, not a corny popcorn flick like Muppets going to Space or fighting against Pirates or something.

Sounding good so far. If it does live up to the first three, I’ll definitely see it in theater.

I’ve always been a big fan of the Muppets.

I wonder who they’re gonna pick for Aileen Crowley?

They’re probably gonna pick some big name actress like Gwyneth Paltrow or Reese Witherspoon or somebody of that sort. I’ll be keeping an eye on it.

Film Review: I’m Not There

Starring: Cate Blanchett, Heath Ledger, Christian Bale, Richard Gere, Julianne Moore, Michelle Williams, and Ben Whishaw.

Directed by: Todd Haynes

Last night, I watched the movie “I’m Not There” on DVD for the first time.

Don’t get fooled by the advertisements of this film, although the film was advertised as a “Bob Dylan” biopic with many different actors playing Bob Dylan, it is NOT a biopic film. It is not really about Bob Dylan. None of the actors, Cate Blanchett, Christian Bale, Heath Ledger, etc play Bob Dylan. They all play 6 different characters that are incarnations of Bob Dylan. The six incarnations are: an actor, a folk singer, an electrified troubadour, Rimbaud, Billy the Kid, and Woody Guthrie.

The film is basically putting Bob Dylan’s lyrics from his songs to a live action motion picture. In other words taking Dylan’s stories from his songs and putting ’em all into film. Heath Ledger plays Robbie Clark an actor who falls for a woman and raises a family, gets married, later becomes a self centered jerk and then divorces his wife. Christian Bale plays musician Jack Rollins. Cate Blanchett’s character Jude Quinn a folk singer gets the most screen time in the film than any other character. Richard Gere plays Billy the Kid, and Ben Whishaw a child actor plays Arthur Rimbaud who is a folk protest singer trying to make it big in the music industry.

As far as my thoughts on the movie goes, I’m no Bob Dylan fan, but the reason I wanted to watch this was because it’s one of Heath Ledger’s last films before he died. I watched this film last night, and I would have to say that I really loved it, this really was an excellent film, creative film making and unique storytelling. The acting was perfect by the cast. There’s a lot of music played throughout this entire film since this is a film about music, folk music mostly. There’s mostly Bob Dylan songs played throughout this movie so it can go with the storyline of the film. Todd Haynes directing skills is pretty impressive. The film is a little over 2 hours long but the pacing goes by quick. Very touching and beautiful film all around. I would reccomend it. It was a good DVD blind buy.

Score for “I’m Not There”: **** (4 stars as in excellent)

Report: HBO documentary to hunt down Roman Polanski…

While legendary director Roman Polanski is still living in France filming movies and enjoying life to the fullest, an indie film maker named Marina Zenovich made a documentary titled “Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired” to let Mr. Polanski know what he did to that poor little girl is not forgotten.

Back in the 70’s, Polanski was hanging at Jack Nicholson’s house which appears that Polanski was romantically involved with a young 13 year old girl. The two were in Nicholson’s hot tub, and while they were in there, Polanski was serving her drinks and then he drugged her. He then had sex with her later on when the girl was all drugged up.

In trial for the case, Polanski pleaded guilty admitting to having a relationship and having sex with the 13 year old, and then fled to France to avoid prison. After all these years, Roman Polanski is still a fugitive at large to this very day. If he ever gets caught visiting the US, he will go to prison.

His victim now 45, Samantha Geimer will never forget her experience with the legendary film director. Samantha says he didn’t get a fair trial and wants the case to be closed. She’s seen the film herself at a private screening and says it’s very truthful and long overdue.

Marina Zevonich’s documentary “Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired” will air on HBO this coming Monday night at 8 p.m.

I’m definitely gonn have to watch this. I refuse to watch any movie made by Roman Polanski ’cause I’m sickened to what he did.

Even though the man admits it, he can’t take responsibility and deal with getting punished so he escapes to France to avoid prison.

I don’t know why Hollywood continues to let him release movies over here. Although he’s banned from coming here in the US, he should be banned from releasing his movies over here too.

No one should support a pedophile.

Report: Leonardo Dicaprio plays the Atari…

Paramount Pictures has just greenlighted a film titled “Atari”, yes, you guess it, a film about the Atari, one of the very first videogame systems to ever being invented in this planet. This is not really about the Atari videogames, this film is actually a Nolan Bushnell biopic. Nolan Bushnell is the creator and the inventor of the Atari videogame console. Dicaprio is signed to play the role of Nolan Bushnell.

The very first videogame ever made was a game called “Pong” which I used to play as a child all the time. The movie “Atari” will be about the life of Nolan Bushnell. According to research, Nolan Bushnell the real man himself, is still alive and well.

No director has been signed yet to the film.

Variety reports:

http://www.variety.com/article/VR1117987072.html?categoryid=13&cs=1

Hmmm, when this movie comes out expect videogame systems like the PS3/Xbox to re-release all the old classic Atari games to help promote the film.

The Atari was one of the coolest videogame systems on this planet. I was addicted to that thing when I was a kid. My favorite games were “Pitfall”, “Warlords”, “Asteroids” and “Yars Revenge”.

Whose Side Are You On: Clint Eastwood vs. Spike Lee…

We know we get a lot of big celebrity feuds over the years but it’s very rare that we get a “director vs. director” type of fued in Hollywood films. Spike Lee is angry at Clint Eastwood for not having any black African-American actors in any of Eastwood’s two WWII films “Flags of Our Fathers”, and “The Letters from Iwo Jima”, the two films based on six men raising the American Flag on Iwo Jima.

Eastwood immediately fired back claiming that Spike Lee never studied his World War II history, Eastwood says there were no black people back in those days when the flag was raised, that’s why Eastwood didn’t have black people in that film.

So Spike Lee went ahead and made his own version of the film to show Eastwood how it’s done. Eastwood continues to defend himself from Lee’s dissing and ending it by saying “A guy like Lee should shut his face”.

Lee was quiet after that.

More on it here:

http://www.nydailynews.com/entertainment/movies/2008/06/06/2008-06-06_clint_eastwood_fires_back_at_spike_lee_o.html

I’m siding with Eastwood all the way. Spike Lee is calling Eastwood a racist clearly and Eastwood is in no way a racist ’cause Eastwood used black people in his films in the past as he explained in the article.

Eastwood makes films how he wants them done. He doesn’t need no big shot ego director like Spike Lee pressing Eastwood’s buttons and pulling his strings.

Back off on Eastwood, Spike, you stupid prick. You provoke Eastwood, you deserve the nasty attacks by the man. That’s what you get when you mess with Dirty Harry!

Clint to Spike Lee, “Now you know why they call me Dirty Harry, every dirty job that comes along!”

Report: Adam Sandler to star in thriller…

Look like Adam Sandler is getting tired of doing comedies all the time that he wants to try different genres. In Adam Sandler’s next announced film, he decides to take a break from comedies again to do a thriller titled, “Shortcut”. Adam Sandler plays a man who goes on a “shortcut” with his brother and then they discover why the shortcut is barely used in their town.

Andrew Seeley, Shannon Woodward, and Dave Franco will also star alongside Adam Sandler. The script is co-written by Adam Sandler’s real life brother, Scott Sandler who is also the owner of the Scary Madison film company.

Production is scheduled to film next month, so this will indeed be Adam Sandler’s next movie after “You Don’t Mess with The Zohan” which is in theaters now.

The Hollywood Reporter reports:

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/content_display/news/e3ib5821482a13c514f8219249276fd45a0

It must be boring doing comedies all the time, so I can’t blame Adam Sandler for trying different things. Adam had tried other movies besides comedy in the past, movies like “Punch Drunk Love”, “Spanglish”, and “Reign Over Me”, they aren’t comedy films.

“Shortcut” sounds interesting, hope it’ll be good.

Report: Ben Kingsley joins “Prince of Persia” film…

Ben Kingsley has signed on to star as the main villain for the “Prince of Persia” live action movie adapted from the videogame. Kingsley will play the evil Nizam. Ben Kingsley is most well known for his role in the movie “Gandhi” which is one of my favorite movies of all times.

Jake Gyllenhaal and Gemma Arterton also star in the lead.

Ben Kingsley as a villain, cool! So far so good, this film has a sweet cast!
