Report: Chevy Chase caught bashing his own TV show that he stars in through voicemail…

I haven’t been following the Chevy Chase vs. Dan Harmon feud that’s been going on for a while lately, but I think I am going to follow it after this story that just been reported. Chevy left a voicemail to the, “Community” creator, Dan Harmon, saying that the show is mediocre and bashes the show some more after that. Chevy says he knows comedy more than anybody and he has been doing it for years.

More on the story, here.

I watched “Community” for a little while and he has a point. The show is not that great, and not funny. Why would Chevy still star in it even if he didn’t like it? I would say he’s in it for the money alone for sure, but I also would like to say that he accepted the job just to keep acting. Nobody knows who Chevy Chase is anymore ’cause it would be hard for him to stay in Hollywood films.

If you knew Chevy Chase’s career as I do, he is also right on the money that he has been doing comedy for years, longer than anyone out there. He got his start in SNL, then he moved on to Hollywood films. Everything from “Caddyshack”, “National Lampoon’s”, “Funny Farm”, “Spies Like Us”, etc. The list goes on. The guy is a comic genius. I love his movies and always respected Chevy.

Clark Griswold was one of his best characters he ever played, of course.

I’ll be following this feud ’cause this feud seems like another version of Charlie Sheen vs. Chuck Lore. What is it with big TV stars feuding with TV creators? Ego and jealousy for sure.

Last night’s “Walking Dead”, episode was the best television I’ve seen in years, holy S**T!!! ***SPOILERS***

WOW! Last night’s “Walking Dead” episode was pretty intense. They are getting better and improving. See? Who needs Frank Darabont!!! They are doing fine with out him! People thought the show would fail without him, but they thought wrong.

Last night’s episode was a true zombie episode. It felt like a George A. Romero movie for sure. I’ll talk about the plot below with a spoiler warning….

********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************SPOILERS***********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************

So last night’s episode explained the incident between Shane and Rick. Why Rick killed Shane? Like I explained before, Shane sacrificed himself. Shane knew all along that he was going to turn into a walker after he died. So Shane wanted to get Rick all pissed so he can take his gun out and shoot him. Rick revealed that every living human is infected with the virus, so if you die, you get turned into a walker.

After all this time, they fooled us that if you get bitten by a walker, you get turned into one too. Turns out it’s not true after all this time. You get turned into a walker, no matter how you die

I loved how the group split with Andrea. Andrea got into a little zombie killing action herself, and it was awesome. That was when the mysterious hooded woman showed up with a sword. “Talking Dead” last night revealed who the hooded woman was, and it’s a character named, Michonne, from the comics, a black woman.

I haven’t started reading the comics yet. I’ve started collecting them, I only have the first six so far. Looks like Season 3 will be taken place in a prison. The Prison season was adapted from one of the comics. Comic #3, “Safety Behind Bars”. I will start reading the books soon.

I was really impressed with last night’s episode. It was a great improvement with the writing and hope they keep up the good work for Season 3. I see this TV show being on TV for a long time.

It was a pretty powerful episode and a great ending.

Thought: What’s next for Jon Bernthal???

Now that we all know what happened with Shane, this means that actor Jon Bernthal, is officially done with the show. Yep, that’s it. Only two seasons for him in, “The Walking Dead”. Kind of sad though, I was hoping they make Shane live for another season or two.

Now the fans are wondering, what’s next for Jon? He is a phenomenal actor. I thought he did a great job playing Shane.

Before he got the job for, “The Waking Dead”, he did some movie roles and appeared on various TV shows over the years. It’s just that he didn’t become a well known actor until he got hired for, “The Walking Dead”.

Well, “The Walking Dead”, will for sure, open up many doors for his career. Now that he’s a well known star, expect some bigger things for his career up ahead. I’m sure he will get some big movie roles.

I’m pretty sure the horror movie industry are all over this guy now. I can see him starring in more horror films. I think he would make a pretty cool villain in an action film or horror film.

Whatever he does, I’m sure he will succeed.

Kev

Edit to add: On a side note, I just read that Jon went to college in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. He went to Skidmore College. Thought it was pretty cool… his info at wikipedia.

Report: Ron Howard’s “Dark Tower”, on it’s way to HBO???

Since Universal Studios dropped, “The Dark Tower” by Ron Howard and Stephen King, Warner Bros. is close to a deal with HBO. HBO may release the three “Dark Tower” films to theaters and they will also air the TV series on their station as well.

I’ve always thought HBO would be a great home for them. This would be good competition against, “Game of Thrones” and “Boardwalk Empire”.

I’m looking forward to the Dark Tower series coming to the big screen and the small screen. I’m a huge fan of the books. Lets hope Ron does justice with them.

Deadline, reports.

Thought: What I think happened with Shane… Major “Walking Dead” SPOILERS!!!!

Yes, the “Walking Dead” did it again. Gave us another big shocker that got the entire internet talking. It had something to do with Shane…so in this post, I’m going  to talk about what happened and explain things of what’s going on. This is my thoughts, of what I think is happening. Before you go thinking that Shane is a badguy for this, read up….here’s my thoughts with Spoiler warnings…

****************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************SPOILER WARNING***********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************

For tonight’s episode: Rick, Shane, Daryl and Glenn went out in the woods to find an escaped Randall from the barn. It was really Shane that helped Randall out. They split up in two teams to hunt down Randall. The Walking Dead cast agreed to let Randall live in Dale’s honor (who was killed in the last episode), except for Shane who still disagreed with it.

Shane brought Randall out in the woods, in the middle of the night. While they didn’t show exactly what was going on between Shane and Randall, they wanted to keep it mysterious. Randall ended up mysteriously turning into a Walker, which Glenn and Daryl found him and killed him.

Here’s what I believe what happened. Shane let Randall go ’cause there were Walkers walking all over the woods, they showed clips of hundreds of walkers, all over the place.

So everyone is asking, when was Shane bit?

I believe it was the episode “Bloodletting”, one of the episodes from the first half of the season back in the Fall. That was when Shane and Otis, went to the FEMA aid station to get medical supplies. Remember, Shane was being chased by a large group of Walkers. They made it look like Shane almost got bitten, but I think he really was bitten. You don’t get turned into a walker until death completely.

What Shane did tonight, he didn’t want to kill Rick. He actually cares for Rick and his family ’cause they were best friends, what Shane did was to sacrifice himself. That’s what it was I believe. Sacrifice.

Shane was the only one who saw that Randall was dangerous and it was his way of keeping Rick and his friends safe. Shane didn’t want to kill Randall himself, so he took Randall out in the woods where the walkers are.

Shane was not evil, he never was. He always tried to do what is best for Rick and his friends. He was just misunderstood.

I knew Shane was going to turn into a walker at some point, I think everyone knew it. I didn’t think they were going to do it, this season. Shane did not exactly try to kill Rick. Shane pointed the gun at Rick ’cause he knew that Rick would try to defend himself. It was a sacrifice thing. Shane just felt letting the walkers killing Randall was better than shooting him, that was all.

This is just my take on what’s going on. Another great episode of the “Walking Dead”. Looking forward to the season finale next Sunday.

This month is “Game of Thrones” marathon for me…

With the return of “Game of Thrones – Season 2” coming in April 1st, I have decided to start re-watching “Season 1” on DVD tonight. Watched the first two episodes. “Game of Thrones” DVD, HBO did a really good job with them. The picture and sound is really nice.

Plus, I have also decided to start re-reading, “A Clash of Kings”. The second book of the series. I want to be reminded of the plot for “Season 2”, so I’m re-reading the second book. Once I started the second book, I still couldn’t put it down. The book is still addicting just like the first time I read it.

I just love the series too much. The books and the show. It’s a celebration, that’s what it’s all about.

I have three favorite characters for the “Game of Thrones” series: Tyrion, Arya, and Daenerys. Of course, I loved Khal Drogo and Eddard Stark, but they were only around for the first season, not trying to give spoilers.

Wait until you see “Game of Thrones – Season 2” which will be adapted from, “A Clash of Kings”. The Arya storyline for the next one will be interesting. The next book focuses on Arya more.

Kev

Looking forward to the return of “Game of Thrones” in April!!!

Man, I can’t wait for this show to comeback! Season 2 premiere date is officially April 1st. Season 1 comes out on DVD this coming Tuesday. I’m definitely buying the DVD, so I can re-watch Season 1 before Season 2. I love the books, and love the show. “Game of Thrones” is one of the best shows on TV other than “Walking Dead”, “Dexter”, and “Breaking Bad”.

Brock thinks, “The Artist”, is the right choice for BEST PICTURE, but the rest of the Oscars was disappointing…

I know last night’s Oscars are going to be questionable for some. Some people are going to think what the hell were they thinking, giving a movie with no talking, the most credit last night. The problem with that is, most young people of this generation, don’t understand what, “silent film” is. I never even heard of that film, “The Artist”, until last night. Never saw the trailers before. Since the movie was getting the most recognition last night, I had to look it up online for myself, and to me, “The Artist”, looks like a very interesting movie. I’m probably going to check the movie out when it arrives on DVD.

I love silent film. That is how movies and Hollywood all started back in the 1920’s – 30’s. Silent film was the beginning of movies. The makers behind, “The Artist”, just simply wanted to give the genre a comeback to the movie industry. If you call yourself a movie buff, and don’t understand silent film, then you’re not a true movie buff. Like I said, I love silent film. Silent movies like the original “Phantom of the Opera”, “Metropolis”, “Nosferatu”, etc. Ever hear of Charlie Chaplin? He was a legendary silent film actor, back in the day! Silent film deserves to comeback to the movies. After, “The Artist”, you can expect more silent movies to be made in the future.

As far as the rest of the Oscars go, it was okay. Billy Crystal’s opening segment, was kind of boring and not funny. He started off parodying other Hollywood movies in the opening segment, and then he came out on stage doing his usual song & dance thing, every time he hosted. I thought Billy was kind of boring, and  it made me wish Eddie Murphy was hosting it last night instead of him. Eddie, I’m sure would have made the show more entertaining.

The movie, “Hugo” started to get the most awards last night. I haven’t even seen, “Hugo”, yet, but I want to. I love Martin Scorsese’s work and I’ll wait to see that film when it arrives on DVD.

Most of the Oscar winners were disappointing last night, to be honest with you. There were only a few that I agreed with. I’m happy for Octavia Spencer that she won for Best Supporting Actress for the movie, “The Help”, which is well deserved. Octavia actually got an emotional standing ovation from the crowd, and she deserved that as well. She was obviously, the best thing about that movie.

I’m glad that Meryl Streep finally won an award. Even though she holds the most record breaking nominations, she hasn’t won an award since “Sophie’s Choice” in 1982. So if you think she’s won a lot of awards, not true. She may have been nominated a lot, but out of all the nominations, so far, she won about 3 or 4  awards, I think. She’s an amazing actress who can play just about anything.

I am actually glad they didn’t give the “Best Actress”, award to Michelle Williams, ’cause “My Week With Marilyn”, looks like a terrible movie, in my opinion. Michelle doesn’t make a good portrayal of Marilyn at all, because Michelle looks nothing like Marilyn.

While Christopher Plummer is a great actor, I was disappointed with his win. Nick Nolte, got robbed for “Best Actor” for “Warrior”, he really should ‘ve gotten it.

As for the red carpet intro before the show, Sacha Baron Cohen was The Dictator was there but he had a couple of women with him. He was interviewed by Ryan Seacrest for the E! channel and I heard that Sacha dumped ashes all over Ryan. Of course, I find that fake, kind of a work. This Sacha vs. The Oscars feud, is kind of like a wrestling storyline. Kind of like what Andy Kauffman did back in the old days. Sacha wasn’t really banned from the Oscars, and proof of that, he showed up in the celebrity interviews during the Oscar show itself. I’m sure Sacha was there in the audience somewhere out of character watching the show, but he had to be there anonymously, so this publicity stunt won’t get ruined. This stunt is entertaining though and it’s good publicity for the film, “The Dictator”, that’s why they’re doing it. It is their way of marketing the movie.

Last night’s Oscars was okay. It should have been a little better.

Kev

Looking forward to the Oscars tonight…

Tonight, I’ll be watching the Oscars, and after the show, I’ll post my review. I’ll be watching the red carpet opener just to see what Sacha Baron Cohen is going to do. He’s going to appear as the Dictator for sure, but you know he’s going to do something crazy for a laugh just to get the media going. It’ll be interesting.

Everyone thinks the Best Picture winner could go to “The Descendants”, but it could go to something else. Either, “Hugo” or “War Horse” could take the win too. These three films would be the most likely choices to win “Best Picture”. I would be surprised if “The Help” actually gets it but I doubt it though. “The Help” is a great movie.

I’ll be DVR’ing tonight’s “Walking Dead” episode, while I’m watching the Oscars. I’ll watch the new “Walking Dead” episode tomorrow. I watch the Oscars yearly.

Kev

Thought: “Breaking Bad” is my new favorite show!!!

After all the few TV shows that I love to watch like “Friday Night Lights”, “24”, “The Walking Dead”, “Game of Thrones”, “Dexter”… you can now add “Breaking Bad” to the list!!! “Breaking Bad” is such an incredibly addicting show. I couldn’t stop watching ever since I started.

I’m just amazed on how realistic the show is. These things that happen in the show can happen to people in real life. The show just wants to help bring awareness to cancer. Not only that, it also wants to give you an example of how being a drug dealer can mess up your life terribly, so you won’t do it.

The writing of the show is just excellent. The cast is very well acted. Especially, Bryan Cranston who plays Walt, wow, what a phenomenal actor he is. The show is pretty unpredictable too. It can go into some pretty interesting twist and turns. The show can get pretty intense and dramatic as well. Some of the storylines can be become pretty shocking and some can be very sad. I won’t spoil things for you but I can give you a hint that if you think the characters on the show will end in a happy ending for them, think again.

While it’s a shame that the show will only be getting 5 seasons, I can definitely see this show being made into a big screen movie too. I think Skyler (Walt’s wife), is a great character too.

People in facebook been trying to talk me into start watching it. Now I’m finally able to get around to it. I just watched the first two seasons, and I’m just starting season 3 on Netflix. Netflix don’t have Season 4 yet ’cause it’s not on DVD yet but will be soon. I want to catch up with all 4 seasons before Season 5 later this year.

After I finish watching “Breaking Bad” on Netflix, I plan to start watching, “Sons of Anarchy”. “Breaking Bad” is one of the best shows ever and it’s probably my no. 1. I can understand why the show is so popular. It feels good to finally start watching the show.
