UFC 116 last night, thoughts…

So last night, I watched UFC 116 ppv. All the fights were great but I was kind of dissapointed on how the “Lesnar vs. Carwin” fight ended. Why? Because Shane Carwin tapped out to Lesnar’s arm triangle choke in the second round. I think Shane could have easily escape that triangle choke if he tried, but he gave up for whatever reason. Shane was beating Brock’s ass, big time in the first round, punching Lesnar’s face in like crazy. In the first round when Lesnar was getting his ass kicked, you can actually see the fear in Lesnar’s eyes, yes, he was looking pretty scared and you don’t see that with Brock Lesnar too much. I had a feeling this fight was going to be a quick one like most Lesnar fights usually are. I wish Shane did better to make the fight longer. I know Shane could have beaten Brock last night ’cause he was doing so good in the first round. Shane was impressive… even if Shane lost, Shane proved a few things. He proved that: 1) Brock has fear 2) Brock can be beatable. Those are the two things that Cain Velasquez should have in mind when he fights Brock Lesnar next. It didn’t matter to me who won that fight ’cause I like both Brock and Shane. I’m glad Brock won though. I want Brock to lose the belt to the right guy and I don’t think Cain Velasquez can do it either.

As for the other fights, they were really good too. I loved Sotiropoulus vs. Pellegrino, pretty technical skills there. I was impressed with Bonnar vs. Soszynski, they don’t call Bonnar, “The American Psycho” for nothing, there is a reason they gave him that name, ’cause he just exploded out of no where.

The fight that I was most impressed with last night that blew my mind, yes, it was the fight of the night indeed, was the great Akiyama vs. Leben fight. That was an exciting fight and they put on quite a show. I was very shocked Leben got the win ’cause I thought Akiyama was on top. That was one of the best UFC fights I’ve seen in a long time.

I thought it was kind of funny seeing Stone Cold and Jim Ross in the audience, I think that was the first time seeing Jim Ross without that Black Resistol Hat. I can see Jim Ross saying to Steve Austin, “It’s gonna be a slobber knocker!”

It was a good ppv last night. I’ll probably watch it again on my DVR today.

Thought: My prediction on “Brock vs. Shane” for UFC 116

Well this is it. UFC’s most anticipated fight is finally here and the long awaited return of Brock Lesnar will be tomorrow night. Yes, of course, I will be watching. I can’t miss it ’cause like most UFC fans, I’ve been looking forward to this one myself. I’m a huge Brock Lesnar fan and yes, of course, I think Brock is gonna win, no matter what happens. Yes, the fight is going to be a brawl and it will be a war. No matter how tough Shane gets in the fight, Brock will do whatever it takes to win. Some would think the fight will be very quick in the first round, but I don’t think it will.

Both dudes are pretty much the same size. Both have pretty much the same power and strength. I think the fight will end with an unaminous split decision possibly. I think it will be a back and forth fight, it will be a pretty bloody one too. It’ll be yet again, another victory for Brock. Brock will not lose the belt to anybody. I read that Cain Velasquez will fight the winner of this fight and it will be Brock.

During Brock’s long hiatus, I’m sure he has been doing so much training. So I’m positive Brock will be tougher and stronger than he ever was before. Other than that, just because these two guys are big and tough, still doesn’t mean the fight will be a good one even though this fight is highly anticipated. It can turn out to be a very bad fight and it might come out with a dissapointment. Brock can still lose too, never know.

The UFC 116 Card looks like a good one. Looking forward to the other fights too. Can’t wait to see this ppv tomorrow night. Hopefully, “Brock vs. Shane” will be a good fight and won’t be a boring one. I’m pretty sure they will put on a nasty fight.

The reason Brock could possibly lose ’cause he was sick and he might lose some fight in him because of that, never know. We’ll wait and see what happens. Yeah, Brock is still gonna be champ.

Thought: Batista on his way to MMA/Strikeforce???

Former WWE star, Dave Batista, started some media controversy by telling TMZ that he has been signed with the MMA and maybe going to Strikeforce ppv events.

http://www.tmz.com/2010/06/21/dave-batista-wwe-mma-strikeforce-mixed-martial-arts/

He was asked if he would fight that Fedor Emielenko (SP? Sorry, his last name is always hard to SPELL!) but Batista laughs and says, “I want nothing to do with that dude”. Come on Dave. Scared of Fedor, are ya?

I looked at reports and they say Dave haven’t yet been signed to MMA. He has a tight movie schedule and he’s strict on payments if he wants to join the MMA, so his deal with them stalled.

http://www.wrestling-radio.com/feed_MMA-659-Batista_and_Strikeforce_Deal_Stalled.php

What do you think? Do you think Dave has what it takes to do real fighting in MMA or in UFC? I mean, just because Dave is a big guy doesn’t mean he can fight  good. We all thought Brock Lesnar was going to suck because he was a WWE guy too but Brock proved us wrong that he doesn’t suck at real fighting, but who knows, maybe Dave does have the skills and the talent to fight for real. Maybe he can prove us wrong too? We were surprised by Brock Lesnar, maybe Dave can surprise us. People think real fighting will kill Dave, but don’t judge the book by it’s cover.

If you look at Dave, I’m pretty sure he can throw some pretty brutal punches and if Dave does a takedown, it’ll make your head spin. Don’t ever think that he doesn’t have what it takes. If Dave is serious of fighting for real, if he does good in MMA, maybe he’ll be on his way to UFC to the big time. Wouldn’t it be kind of cool to see Dave Batista vs. Brock Lesnar at UFC? Dave and Brock already know each other, and yes. The two have wrestled each other many times before. They’ve never wrestled in the WWE against each other, but they wrestled each other at the Ohio Valley Wrestling years back.

On a serious note, I doubt Dave has been signed to MMA. I think he’s being an egotist, and delusional. He might be just joking around as his way of playing with TmZ for a little bit. Those former wrestlers like to pick on TmZ a lot. Just ask Chris Jericho who’s done it many times. These wrestlers crave for the publicity, that’s what they do it for.

Report: Ultimate fighting close to being legalized in NY State?

The Senate approved a measure to legalize UFC/MMA events to come to NY State, so is it one step closer to being legalized officially in the NY State?

More on it here:

http://wnyt.com/article/stories/S1611328.shtml?cat=300

That would be awesome if ultimate fighting gets legalized here. There are many NY fans of that sport and we deserve our ultimate fighting live experience! You might be thinking, will the UFC put on ppv events at the Times Union Center in Albany? They might, but I doubt UFC will ever come to Albany. I’m pretty sure Dana White is aiming for a first ppv event at no where other than the legendary and the historic venue, Madison Square Garden. That’s the first place UFC will go. Then maybe the Times Union Center in Albany later on. The MSG will be the first place they will hit for sure.

As for MMA “Strikeforce” events, I see them hitting the smaller venues maybe the Times Union Center in Albany and the Glens Falls Civic Center in Glens Falls.

NY deserves this sport. If it gets legalized, I would go see a live UFC event or Strikeforce, yes definitely. That would be a blast!

UFC 115 last night was awesome!!!

I really enjoyed last night’s UFC 115. A few great fights last night. One was the first fight Rory McDonald vs. Carlos Condit turned out great. I was also impressed with Mirk Cro Cop vs. Pat Barry, I think that was the best fight of the night. Mirk Cro Cop is easily starting to be one of my favorite fighters in the UFC now.

As for the main event, Chuck Liddell vs. Rich Franklin, that was a real good one too even though it was a quick one. It’s no surprise to me Liddell was going to lose ’cause I knew it was going to happen from the beggining. Chuck has no fight left in him even though he thought he did. I’m starting to like Rich Franklin too.

Finally, Brock Lesnar returns to UFC after a long hiatus. Next UFC ppv 116 in July which I will also definitely watch. Brock Lesnar is another favorite of mine. Of course, I’m rooting for Brock to retain his title against Shane Carwin. This is a fight I can’t wait to see and it will be interesting.

So you ask who are my top 5 favorite fighters in UFC right now? Here they are: 1) Randy Couture 2) Brock Lesnar 3) BJ Penn 4) Mirk Cro Cop 5) Frank Mir.

Tito Ortiz vs. Jenna Jameson thoughts…

So now Tito Ortiz, the UFC fighter, is turning out to be a woman beater. Which is no surprise to me. The guy’s a prick, even the UFC fans know it. It was only a matter of time that he was going to hurt Jenna one day and he actually did it. She maybe addicted to Oxycontin or whatever drugs she was on, yes, but that’s still no excuse to hit a woman. No matter how much a woman pisses you off, I agree, that women can be annoying and can drive you mad, but never lay a hand on her. I hope Tito gets the punishment he deserves with the full extent of the law. Of course, I have this feeling the asshole is going to walk. No wonder Chuck Lidell hates this guy so much, now I see why. You know Chuck the Iceman will have a lot to say about this and looking forward to hearing his words.

How to do meet & greets with UFC stars…

Have you always wanted to meet a UFC star in person and wanting to know how to do it so you won’t get into trouble? Well UFC fighter, Kurt Pellegrino, shares his experiences and gives you a lesson on how to meet UFC stars in person, for an autograph or a picture taken or whatever.

Read his blog here:

http://www.ufc.com/index.cfm?fa=news.detail&gid=80541

Very insightful read. Keep in mind though, that not ALL Ufc fighters are going to be the nicest people. A lot of them have different attitudes. Some UFC fighters can be great with their fans, and some can be downright pricks. Some fighters don’t even do autographs or pictures at all.

A lot of people may hate Brock Lesnar, but from the stories I’ve heard from people who has already met him in person, I’ve heard Lesnar is a really nice and down to earth guy. I hear he’s very good with his fans, loves meeting them and would sign anything that’s handed to him. I would like to meet Lesnar one day ’cause it would be a thrill to tell him how much he is an inspiration.

UFC 111: Shane Carwin vs. Frank Mir thoughts…

Shane Carwin is a fighter who is a monster. The man is very dangerous. He is known to have very quick fights in almost every fight he has done. He is capable of knocking a fighter out very quick in one round. In last night’s fight with Shane Carwin vs. Frank Mir, respects goes out to both fighters. Shane Carwin is still unstoppable. Frank tried, he tried to make the fight last long and he did a good job trying to survive, but of course, Shane exploded with a lot of punches to Frank’s face. In the start of the fight, Frank did a good job trying to not let Shane explode like that ‘caues Frank knew it was going to happen. Frank just made one mistake and Shane was all over the guy this quick, and the fight was over. I think this was the best fight I’ve seen in UFC in a long time. After seeing this fight, now I can’t wait to see Brock vs. Shane later this year.

Do you think Brock will be able to survive Shane? My prediction? Yes. I think Brock will survive Shane easily. I think Brock will beat Shane. During Brock’s hiatus in UFC, I think Brock has been studying Shane’s fighting skills. So Brock has been training and learning. Brock will be UFC Champ for a long time. Shane won’t take it from him, trust me.

As for the other fights on last night’s ppv, they were real good too. I liked Miller vs. Bocek and liked Fitch vs. Saunders. St. Pierre vs. Hardy was good too. Not a bad ppv.

A lot of people hate Brock Lesnar, but I’ve always been a fan of his. So I look forward to see him returning to the Octagon later this year when he defends his title against Carwin. I was actually hoping for Frank Mir, to win, but Shane won’t be a bad opponent. Brock’s going to make Shane Carwin look like a little baby, I gauruntee you that. UFC 111 was good. I enjoyed every fight.

On with PPV #2, Wrestlemania 26 later this evening. Looking forward to seeing that as well.

I’ll be watching both UFC 111 and Wrestlemania this weekend…

Well, I did end up buying both ppv’s this morning, “UFC 111” and “Wrestlemania 26”. I know it’s a lot of cash, but I’ll pay for ’em. I couldn’t resist “UFC 111” because I don’t want to miss the Shane Carwin vs. Frank Mir fight. I’m dying to see who will win that one ’cause the winner of that fight will get to fight Brock Lesnar for the title. Another reason I’ll watch both is because, there’s usually nothing good on TV on the weekends. Looking forward to seeing both PPV’s. I’ll review them both too.
