“Once Upon a Time In Hollywood”, a brief review…

So I saw Quentin Tarantino’s 9th film “Once Upon a Time In Hollywood” in a movie theater at the Cape Cod Mall last week in Cape Cod, Mass. When I go on vacation like once a year, I like to try and go to the movies just to kill some time and stuff. I’m a huge Quentin Tarantino fan and I’ve seen all of his movies. Yes, I love them all including his newest one, “Once Upon a Time In Hollywood”.

It’s another winner for Tarantino, he did it again which didn’t surprise me. All of his movies are good and they never disappoint. “Once Upon a Time” is filmed in the similar format like all of his movies: different story lines in one film, almost 3 hours, the usual cool selection of music (which Tarantino is known for) and the film having a lot of dialogue.

This was an interesting movie ’cause it showed what life in Hollywood would have been like in 1969. It was nearing the end of the golden era in Hollywood. I remember in the beginning when this film was in development, Tarantino was going to make this film about the Manson family murders and this film turned out to be about that for a little bit. I was hoping the whole movie would be about the Charles Manson murders but it ended up being something totally different. Instead, the film mostly focused on how the Hollywood movie era was changing in 1969.

I was most interested in how the film depicted the life of Sharon Tate. While the cast of the film did a good acting job, I was most impressed with Margot Robbie who played Sharon Tate in the film. She did the best acting job, in my opinion and the appearance by Bruce Dern was cool too. Of course, Al Pacino is always a show stealer. Even though I think Brad Pitt and Leo Dicaprio are both overrated actors, I thought they were entertaining as hell in this movie.

This film was also funny as hell as it was also named a “comedy”… there were a few scenes in the film where I can’t help but crack out laughing especially the ending of this film. Tarantino always had a crazy and wacky sense of humor and he really showed that in this film for sure. There’s a mixture of genres in this film: drama, western, action, comedy and even a little bit of horror was thrown in the mix.

I don’t agree with Tarantino’s left-wing political views but he’s still a talented film maker and I wish he would keep making movies until he dies but he vows to retire at his 10th film which is disappointing. I’ve always been a huge Tarantino fan. I try to collect all his movies for my BluRay/DVD collection when I can and I’ll be definitely buying “Once Upon a Time In Hollywood” on BluRay for sure.

“Once Upon a Time In Hollywood” turned out be a really great film. Loved it a lot. You should see it too.

Lupita Nyong’o from the Oscars last night…

This just came up in my facebook newsfeed. I thought it was pretty funny so I decided to share it here. Before anyone gets mad and calls me a racist… this photo is not racist. The joke is that Brad and Angie has been known to adopting kids from Africa and other countries.

Lupita is a pretty woman, don’t get me wrong but her chest was kind of uncomfortable to look at. She doesn’t have much of a cleavage to show off but I still give her credit for showing off her skin.

Angelina Jolie makes public appearance at the World War Z premiere in London…

Angelina Jolie makes her first public appearance at the World War Z premiere with Brad Pitt since her double mastectomy announcement. Angie still looks the same; however, slightly different. Look like she decided to make her breast size a little bigger; either that or she’s got something hidden in her dress that’s making it look like she has boobs — noticing the dress she is wearing is totally covering them. Well guys, sorry to say but it looks like you’re gonna have to say goodbye to her hot cleavage as it looks like she won’t show it off anymore.

It’s kind of sad that she would go to this instead of her Aunt’s funeral who just died of breast cancer. If she claims she supports women with breast cancer, you’d think her and Brad would cancel the World War Z premiere so they can support her family? Maybe people are right that this couple are all about ego. Spoiled rich people who craves the publicity.

See the photos, here.

Report: Angelina Jolie’s daughter, Vivienne, to follow mother’s footsteps in acting?

When Angelina Jolie got her start at acting, she had her acting debut at 7 years old for a small cameo, in the 1982 film, “Lookin’ To Get Out”. Keep in mind that the entire Jolie/Voight clan are actors, which is how Angie got into the business. Disney announced, that Angie’s 4 year old, Vivienne, will have a cameo in the upcoming, “Maleficient”, film.

More on the story, here.

Could Vivienne grow up to be a huge movie like her, Mom? Wouldn’t surprise me that Angie and Brad could turn their kids into aspiring actors. It would give them something to be proud of when Angie and Brad retire from film.

A big congratulations go out to Brad and Angie! Wow!

I’m sure many are accusing this couple of doing this for attention. I’m sure they are getting sick of celebrity marriages being “news”. I’m sure people won’t care, but the reason this news is a big deal ’cause these two are a pretty hot thing in Hollywood. Both, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are iconic actors. They both have acting talent. Yes, both are really good actors. I like them both.

I’ve been watching Brad Pitt movies for years, and I’ve been watching Angelina films for years. So I’m a pretty big fan of both of them.

I’m not into news about celebrity couples too much but I had to post this one. People would accuse them of being together for money and ego, but I don’t think so. It looks like true love to me.

The reason they were so late on the engagement ’cause they were taking it slow. Mainly because it might affect both of their careers in film, that’s why. Plus, I’m sure they’re doing it for their adopted kids too.

I’ll treat them with respect and give them support. When people like us talk all kinds of hate about these two, it’s most likely jealousy for sure. People like us don’t have the lifestyle they have, so most of you sit on the computer bashing them.

Something to keep in mind guys, that Angelina’s entire life has been surrounded by Hollywood. She was pretty much born into Hollywood, with her father Jon Voight, being a longtime actor himself. Her mother, Marcheline Bertrand, was an actress too but she died in 2007. With that being said, Angelina’s life revolved around Hollywood as explained earlier.

Angelina’s been in relationships with various actors over the years such as Johnny Miller and most notably, Billy Bob Thornton. She also had a brief lesbian relationship with an actress from her film, “Foxfire”.

It shouldn’t be a surprise that she is going to marry a big name actor, and it ended up being Brad Pitt. They met on the set of, “Mr. and Mrs. Smith”. It is definitely true love for sure, and I can tell. Evidence of that, both Brad and Angie have been staying away from acting a lot more often. There were rumors on Brad retiring soon to focus on producing so he can stay with his family a lot more often. Both of them are rich people from their earlier career, so they don’t need to work so much anymore.

Congrats to them. Celebrity marriages usually don’t last a long time, but I see this one lasting forever. They seem really in love with each other. It’s definitely not fake for sure.

Thought: I think Brad Pitt is crazy to retire at the young age of 50…

Brad Pitt is too young to retire from acting. Yes, 50 is young. In my opinion, he should keep going. Maybe not in leading roles, but he could just do supporting roles or cameos. He shouldn’t give up acting completely. He’s not one of my favorite actors but he is a good one who has made plenty of fantastic films. What are some my favorite Brad Pitt films?

Well here are ten of my favorites, in no particular order: Fight Club, Seven, Moneyball, Sleepers, Meet Joe Black, Inglorious Basterds, 12 Monkeys, The Devil’s Own, and the Oceans trilogy.

Hopefully Angie doesn’t retire along with him as well. It does seem like she’s going to retire soon. If you’ve noticed, Angie’s been staying away from leading roles in films more often and concentrating on directing more. I’m a fan of both of their films.

Film Review: Moneyball

Starring: Brad Pitt, Jonah Hill, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Robin Wright

Directed by: Bennett Miller

Today, I decided to hit the mall and check out the movie, “Moneyball”. Before the movie, I did finally pick up the game, “Dead Island”, but I won’t play it right away ’cause I’m still playing, “Deus Ex: Human Revolution”. As soon as I finish “Deus Ex”, I’ll move right on to “Dead Island”. Looking forward to “Dead Island”, though, as I’m a huge fan of zombies myself as some of you can probably tell.

On with my review:

Plot/Synopsis: This film focuses on the real life story of Billy Beane, who is the General Manager and part owner of the MLB team, the Oakland Ahtletics. Billy is in a financial handicap with the Oakland A’s, due to their constant losing of games. It takes place in the year 2002, around that time the Oakland A’s suffered a low payroll budget. The Oakland A’s just lost three big players: Johnny Damon, Jason Giambi, and Jason Isringhausen so they must be replaced with better players.

Beane teams up with Peter Brand (who is played by Jonah Hill), because he was going to college at Yale for economics. Beane felt that Brand would help get the Oakland A’s out of the financial ruin. Beane wants his players to be more competitive and play better so they can win more games. Beane searches for players who are high on the on base percentage, baseball stats.

Well, this film was very interesting. I like baseball, but I don’t watch a lot of it. I used to watch MLB all the time though. I’m more into football now. When I saw this movie, I realized that this movie wasn’t really about baseball, maybe a little bit. If you’re expecting to see a big baseball movie, where you can cheer on, you’re not going to see that in this movie.

In this movie, you’re going to learn all the secrets and behind the scene stuff that the staff at MLB don’t want you to know about. You always wondered what it would be like, behind the scenes of professional baseball? Well this film will give you an idea of it. This movie will show that working behind the scenes of professional baseball isn’t easy as it sounds. It’s a tough business. This movie is mostly about business and money. It’s about a team that is about to fall apart and you must bring it back together.

The performances in this movie was just amazing. Brad Pitt is always good, like usual, but I’m most impressed with Jonah Hill. Jonah has been doing a lot of silly slapstick comedies as of late, so he decides to take a break from comedy for once and try a serious drama role. I think Jonah is going to get an Oscar nod for “Best Supporting Actor” in this role this year. Jonah Hill first got recognition as an actor in the 2007 comedy film, “Superbad”, and he should get even more recognition with, “Moneyball”. This is Jonah’s best role.

I’ve been following Phillip Seymour Hoffman’s career for years and this was his best role as well. He really kills it.

Everything else about the movie was great. The writing was well written, the cinematography was well done, and the music in the movie was cool too. There were some baseball playing scenes but not much.

I thought this was an excellent film. You don’t need to be a baseball fan to watch this film.

Score for “Moneyball” = **** (4 stars as in”excellent”)

Cool Video: I think Brad Pitt’s new movie, “Moneyball” looks great!

After a long break from the big screen, Brad Pitt is finally back with two new movies this year of 2011. “The Tree of Life” and now “Moneyball”. The “Moneyball” trailer dropped today and I was very impressed with it. The movie looks interesting to me.

I can understand why Brad is staying away from movies more ’cause he has a family to take care of with his superstar girlfriend, Angelina Jolie. When Angie has more than 5 adopted kids to take care of, that’s a lot of work.

Enjoy the trailer, here. I’m definitely seeing it in theater when it comes out, I think.

Report: Former “Lost” star, Matthew Fox, and Ed Harris joins, “World War Z” film…

The former “Lost” star, Matthew Fox, and legendary actor, Ed Harris, are in talks to star alongside Brad Pitt, for the “World War Z” film. “World War Z” is a zombie apocalypse novel written by Max Brooks. It’s about the US Army going to war against zombies. The “World War Z” film will begin filming later this month.

Deadline, reports.

I’ve never read the book yet, so I think I’m gonna have to soon. I love zombie stories. I’m sure the movie will be action packed, bloody, and very violent.

Report: Angelina Jolie is going to San Diego Comic Con, confirmed…

Lots of rumours and speculation hits the internets that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt both maybe at this year’s San Diego Comic Con to help promote “Salt”, the action spy thriller. It is confirmed that Angelina will indeed be there to promote “Salt”, in person.

Not sure if Brad will be there though, he probably will. Maybe Brangelina and their kids will be at Comic Con to help celebrate the other movies being celebrated at the panels. I’m sure Brad will be there to support her.

More on it here:

http://heatvision.hollywoodreporter.com/2010/07/confirmed-angelina-jolie-coming-to-comiccon.html

Brad and Angelina maybe a weird couple because of their super stardom, but I’ve admired both of their works for years. I’ve seen Angelina’s movies for years and watched Brad’s films for years too. Brad’s been in many great movies. Some of my favorites he’s been in are: “Inglourious Basterds”, The Ocean’s trilogy, “Fight Club”, “Sleepers”, “12 Monkeys”, “Legends of the Fall”, “Kalifornia”, and that’s about it. No, I still haven’t seen, “Curious Case of Benjamin Button” yet.
