New “Man of Steel” image released from Warner Bros. today!!!

This is an official still from the upcoming new Superman movie, “Man of Steel”, directed by Zack Snyder. Some of you may ask. Why are his hands cuffed in chains and what is he being turned in for? Well my belief, is that since “Man of Steel” is taking a realistic approach to Superman, if there was a real life superhero who tried to fight crime himself, he would either be arrested or killed. That’s what I see going on here, in this poster. Superman could probably break out of the chains and escape easily, but he doesn’t in this image ’cause he is respecting the law.

Or I could be totally wrong and it could be a different reason in the actual film itself. I’ll have to wait and see.

I was honestly hoping that Warner Bros. was going to release an official photo of Michael Shannon as General Zod, but they haven’t shown us yet. I’m sure they will show us the new General Zod, in the next trailer, that will be shown before, “The Hobbit”. I can’t wait for “Man of Steel”, it’s one movie I most look forward to in 2013. I hope it doesn’t disappoint at all, and hope Snyder redeems himself this time.

Superman to wear red armor in the upcoming “Man of Steel” movie???

While Zack Snyder continues to be secretive on the upcoming “Man of Steel” movie, Mattel kept releasing pics of action figures from the movie, giving you a little glimpse of the film. AICN showed a few pics of Superman from “Man of Steel”. One pic with his blue costume, and the other with Superman wearing red armor, check it out, here.

Wonder what’s with the red armor, and that thing on his right arm? Look like he might have to fight something big & dangerous that might be more stronger than him. Metallo, perhaps?

“Man of Steel” comes out in Summer of 2013, and I wish we don’t have to wait that long. Anyway, we’ll be seeing another “Man of Steel” trailer with more footage and new music, that will be shown in front of, “The Hobbit”, movie. That’s one reason why I’m going to see “The Hobbit”, to see the new “Man of Steel” trailer. Of course, I’m looking forward to “The Hobbit” film itself, ’cause I’m a bit Tolkien fan as well.

Edit to add: Maybe that red is not armor at all, it might have something to do with that thing on his arm that makes him red. Helps makes him even stronger maybe?

BREAKING NEWS: Warner Bros./DC wins long copyright battle over Superman!!!!! YES!!!!

Nobody can stop the, Man of Steel! I’ve been saying for a long time now that Warner Bros./DC was going to win this battle, all the way, and they did! That Marc Toberoff is a sleazy lawyer and even the judge knows that he’s a big piece of shit! Now Warner Bros. can feel free to use any Superman material, all they want to for the upcoming films! Even though “Man of Steel” is already finished and scheduled to hit theaters next year, the film makers could push back the release date and add more to the film if they wanted.

This battle isn’t over yet completely though, this is just a huge step in the right direction. This legal battle is just about over, though. Getting there. A huge congrats, go out to Warner Bros., and the DC team! I’m sure they are celebrating pretty hard with a party and all at their offices! We can celebrate too, by listening to the Superman theme again in the video below! WOO HOO!!!!! 🙂

I’m sure this news put a smile on Zack Snyder and Christopher Nolan’s face.

Report: “Man of Steel” will focus on a “naturalistic approach” similar to Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy…

While this is no surprise, the new “Man of Steel” movie setting to hit theaters next Summer in 2013, will be similar to the Batman trilogy. The first “Man of Steel” movie will have an origin story much like, “Batman: Begins”. Just like that film was the beginning of Batman, this film will be the beginning of Superman. It’s going to ignore the Richard Donner/Christopher Reeve style. This film will be like a Superman movie made for the first time. So you will not hear the John Williams main theme at all. “Man Of Steel” will make you wonder what Superman will be like if he was real. The screenwriter, David Goyer, speaks out on how he is handling the script, a little bit, but of course, he doesn’t get into details with the story and plot.

More on the story, here.

While, I’m still disappointed that the John Williams music won’t be in the movie, I’ll give it a chance. Maybe Hans Zimmer can give it a good score, who knows. I like their idea for the new Superman story, but admittedly, I’m a bit skeptical like some people out there. This film could be a flop and may not be as good. People may not be used to a different approach to Superman ’cause everyone is so used to the Richard Donner style. I do like Henry as Superman though, that’s a good choice. I’m just hoping and praying that this will be an amazing film. Will Zack redeem himself this time? Or will he make another shit movie, worse than “Sucker Punch”? Who knows. All we have to do is wait to see the actual film and than people can judge. If “Man of Steel” gets positive reviews from everyone, that would be amazing, but I am predicting that this film will get mixed reviews.

I’m hoping Warner Bros., will release trailer #2 soon with Hans Zimmer’s new theme and hope they will show General Zod for the next trailer. “Man of Steel” is just the beginning but I’m sure the sequel will leave open more ideas and more villains. Lex Luthor may not be in “Man of Steel”, but maybe he will get a cameo at the end and he could be the leading villain for the sequel?

About the Batman re-boot, questions…

So now that the Chrsitian Bale/Christopher Nolan “Dark Knight” trilogy is over with and for good, Warner Bros. is of course, planning a re-boot. What worries me about the upcoming re-boot, is that who ever the next director is, he might try to copy Christopher Nolan’s style a bit. I hope they don’t do that. They need to take Batman into a different era. Just like what they are doing to the “Man of Steel” re-boot. You know how the “Man of Steel” re-boot is staying away from the Christopher Reeve/Donner stuff? The same needs to be done for Batman, next time.

I think the next Batman film, they need to use a different style of Batsuit ’cause the “Dark Knight” suit is getting old. They’ve been using the black rubber suit for over ten years since the Tim Burton/Michael Keaton era. I think it would be pretty sweet if WB’s went back to the Black and Blue style Batsuit. Make it an old school Batman film, just like what they’re doing with “Man of Steel”.

Yes, they would probably bring back the Joker played by a different actor for the re-boot but, they shouldn’t make the next Joker like the Heath Ledger one. They need to make that character differently as well.

Another question is, could the Batman re-boot be more successful than the Chris Nolan films? I don’t know. Tough to say. The casting, script and everything else needs to be good enough if they want people to take Batman seriously again. I feel bad for the Batman movie franchise ’cause the series has been re-booted for a few times already ’cause of directors dropping out and people moving on, and stuff. You get the deal. It’s hard to make a great Batman movie, and Christopher Nolan was the only one who can do it. Hopefully WB’s doesn’t go back to making bad Batman movies.

I guess the most important question, we’re all wondering is now that Christopher Nolan is done, what’s next? We’ll hear something soon.

Cool Photo: Christian Bale visits Aurora victims after all!!!!

After reports claiming that actor Christian Bale was out of town filming a movie that he won’t be able to visit Aurora victims, it appears that he found the time to get around to that today. Christian Bale the man himself, visits the local Aurora hospital to visit survivors of the shooting rampage. Except he showed up as himself, he didn’t dress up in the Batman costume at all, which is good!

Christian didn’t stay real quick just to see how they were doing, they got way more than that. He actually stayed for a long while to chat with fans that are survivors of the tragedy. He took photos with them as well.

Here is a photo of Christian Bale posing with a survivor, here.

Bale is a good man for that!

Hopefully Christopher Nolan and some of the other cast members will get a chance to visit the victims too.

The survivors are pretty lucky to meet Bale! Just imagine the huge smile on their face as soon as Bale walks in the hospital room. The fan in the pic looks pretty stoked to meet him.

And it’s great for Warner Bros. to donate money to the victims too! Clearly shows that Warner Bros. really care for people!

About Christian Bale visting injured children in Aurora in the Batman costume…

Well, the world of social media is trying to bring out Christian Bale, to get him to go to Aurora to visit injured children who were victims of the shooting at the hospital, wearing the Batman costume and all. Really? I agree with Christian Bale visiting children and other victims at the hospital, but he shouldn’t wear the costume. He should just go as himself. On top of all this, I’m sure Christian would love to visit victims in the hospital, but he’s a very busy man with his movie career and all. He won’t have the time. Christian just released a statement of the tragedy, read it, here.

I just think Christian wearing the Batman costume at the hospital is kind of a silly idea anyway. The reason why it’s silly is because Batman is a fictional character and they need to leave it at that. The real superheroes are the law enforcement and the victims of this tragedy alive or dead.

I think it would be better if Christopher Nolan or other cast members of the Dark Knight movies would visit the surviving victims. They probably will at some point when they have the time, I’m sure they’ll get around it. Or even better maybe Christopher Nolan can dedicate his next movie to the Aurora victims, I can see him doing that. Maybe the film makers and cast will donate some money to the Aurora hospital to pay for the victims hospital coverage, things like that.

This also shows that going to the movies is not always safe. There have been all kinds of shootings and stabbings at movie theaters, all over. I think I remember one story that some guy got shot and killed at a movie theater ’cause he wouldn’t stop talking. There are sometimes psychotic people that go to the movies. This stuff is nothing new.

Cool Video: Watch a fan made version of “Man of Steel” trailer with the John Williams music!

So people online debated on whether or not the John Williams music would work for “Man of Steel”, because of a new era and all. Well, in my opinion, I think this fan made video of the trailer, is pretty much proof that the JW’s score would work. It was beautiful and the JW’s score with the “Man of Steel” trailer, gave me even more goosebumps! The music for the original trailer was the main theme from “Lord of the Rings”. The reason Warner Bros. have been using music from other movies for the trailers is because Hans Zimmer didn’t compose music for “Man of Steel”, yet.

Warner Bros. should have used this music in the video for the teaser instead. They could have if they wanted but I guess they really are ditching John Williams for good which is sad. I’m not sure why Zack doesn’t want to use this music, when Star Trek and James Bond have used the same music for years.

I believe they decided on Lord of the Rings, as a way to piss off the makers of “The Hobbit” movie and compete with them.

Enjoy the John Williams version. I think it works beautifully and almost brought tears to my eyes. Felt like a real Superman movie with the John Williams music. It’s not the main theme, but the music came from the Krypton scene in the beginning of “Superman: The Movie”. Yep, I definitely like the fan made John Williams trailer, better than the voice over versions.

Cool Video: The “Man of Steel” teaser trailer is finally online!

This was the trailer that was attached to the “Dark Knight: Rises”. Now the “Man of Steel” trailer is finally online. Not much on it but I’m sure trailer #2 will show more. Hopefully the next trailer will show action scenes, and I hope General Zod will get revealed soon.

Enjoy the trailer. I think it’s awesome and I think it’s gonna be a great Superman movie.

Edit to add: I think the voice over is Kevin Costner talking, as Jonathan Kent. You can see Costner in the photograph in the trailer.

The “DARK KNIGHT: RISES” SPOILERS DISCUSSION ******SPOILER WARNING*****

I made two separate posts ’cause it seems like the whole internet loves to talk about spoilers of “The Dark Knight: Rises” online. I made one review with non-spoilers and here is the spoiler post, so those who already saw the movie can discuss the storyline here.

Okay, here we go….

************************************************************************

*****************SPOILER WARNING*************************************

************************************************************************

The special cameos that made the movie were Ra Al Ghul (played by Liam Neeson) and the Scarecrow (Cillian Murphy). I almost forgot that the Ra Al Ghul character is immortal, and I kind of predicted that Ra’s was going to appear in the movie, anyway. It’s also no surprise that Miranda Tate ended up being Talia Al Ghul, Ra’s daughter.  I was never a big comic book reader but with a little internet research, all this Bane, Ra Al Ghul and Talia stuff were borrowed from various comics over the years.

As for the film’s questionable ending, after Batman sacrificed himself to save Gotham City, John Blake (who was an actual character from the Batman comics, btw), revealed himself as Robin John Blake, then he goes to the Batcave, discovering all of Batman’s secrets. Does this mean that he is about ready to become Robin at the end of it? Absolutely!

Now, it will be pretty cool if Warner Bros. gave Robin his own spin off movie, with Joseph Gordon-Levitt still playing the character, even if Christopher Nolan is not directing. If Warner Bros. is planning on some kind of re-boot, they can still keep the stories going with Robin. Not sure if they will do that or not, but that’s what it’s looking like.

I know it’s sad that Batman dies at the end of the movie, but in the comics, DC experimented with Batman deaths a few times before. Most everything through all the three Nolan “Dark Knight” films were inspired from comics and graphic novels. I wish there could be more Nolan “Dark Knight” films, but I understand why he wants to move on. WB’s would probably have no choice but to reboot Batman again, which would be the 4th re-boot I believe. The two Keaton/Burton films, the two Schumacher films, the three Nolan films, you get the deal. It’s going to be interesting to see how Warner’s going to reboot Batman after this. Whether they will continue the stories without Nolan or re-boot it again, whatever their plans are, will be interesting.

As for the Bane character, throughout the whole movie, I just loved the way how Bane was seen as this menacing monster, and then at the end of the movie, you actually felt sorry and sad for the guy, after it was revealed, that Bane tried to help Talia out of that prison. He got scarred because of it, which explained why he wore that scary mask. After that scene, that’s when you felt emotion for that character, and now understand all the pain Bane is going through, and why he is what he is. It turned out that Ra’s could be Bane’s father.

Well, this is all I had to get off my chest for the spoilers discussion. Hope you enjoy, feel free to add more to it if you want. It’s too bad Heath Ledger is gone. If he was still here with us, Im pretty sure, he would have definitely been in the movie somehow as the Joker. I’m glad they used Bane though ’cause he has always been a lesser known Batman villain. He shouldn’t be a lesser known villain anymore though. 🙂
