Confirmed: “New Moon” to be released Nov. 20th, 2009…

Summit Entertaintment already confirmed a release date to “New Moon” which will be directed by Chris Weitz, Melissa Rosenberg wrote the script. The film is confirmed for a release date of Nov. 20th. Due to no new “Harry Potter” film being released around Thanksgiving in 2009, this gave “New Moon” the opportunity to get another November date again as they did with the first movie, “Twilight”, was released November 21st earlier this year.

Hopefully the Nov. 20th, 2009 date is set in stone, because it’s possible there could be push backs if Chris Weitz doesn’t finish the movie in time. I hope Chris does a good job with it, I hope he stays true to the novel ’cause I feel that “New Moon” is better than the first. If you read the book, “New Moon”, it stays away from the romance, so there will be more thrills and chills in the next one. “New Moon” will be more violent too. Will it get a PG-13 rating because of it? Who knows.

Cool Video: See the “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” trailer here…

I’ve had mixed feelings on the upcoming new “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” movie, a spin off movie from the X-Men series where Wolverine gets his own movie, played by Hugh Jackman.

Anyhow, this film comes out May 1st, just a few months after the Oscars in Feb. Now you see exactly why the Oscars wanted Jackman as the host. 🙂

The movie “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” looks pretty fuckin’ sweet. I absolutely loved the trailer!!! The movie looks promising. I’ve had worries that the film would suck, but after seeing the trailer here, I love what I see here so far. I’ll definitely see this in May too.

I love Hugh Jackman as Wolverine and I love the X-Men series. So this film here is going to be great with just Wolverine alone and not the other X-Men characters.

“X-Men Origins: Wolverine” looks to me it’s the beginning of the character of how he first turned into a mutant.

Enjoy it here:

Report: J.J. Abrams says that Leonard Nimoy as the adult Spock in “Star Trek” is no cameo…

If you read this interview with J.J. Abrams about the new “Star Trek” movie, he confirms that Leonard Nimoy playing the adult Spock is no cameo. You will get the adult Spock pretty much throughout the entire movie.

My guess is that the adult Spock is the narrator of the story, he’s telling the story of the younger cast.

Read the interview with JJ Abrams here:

http://www.mtv.com/movies/news/articles/1601281/story.jhtml

Very cool. I’m happy to hear that Leonard as Spock is not a tiny role, and glad he is the lead.

Will JJ give the adult Captain Kirk a tribute in the film where Spock is visiting Kirk’s gravesite? I hope JJ does.

Keep in mind that both “Terminator Salvation” and “Star Trek” are both being released on the same weekend in May. “Star Trek” is being released May 8th and “Terminator Salvation” is being released May 9th.

Oh my, talk about a huge competition in the box office.  Now I can see why “Terminator” and “Star Trek” don’t want to release on the same day ’cause of the box office thing. “Terminator” is being released on a Saturday and it’s very rare that movies get released that day.

That May weekend is a bad time to release “Star Trek” ’cause I have a feeling “Terminator” will destroy “Star Trek” in the box office anyways, but we’ll wait and see.

I will see both of those movies, of course.

Report: McG already planning “Terminator 5″…

When just completing “Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins” (or Terminator 4), McG just announced he is already planning a 5th one.

Read more on it here:

Also, see the new “Terminator: Salvation” trailer with a lot more film footage, the film actually looks pretty fuckin’ sweet, and I’m definitely seeing it in May.

See the new trailer here:

Look like McG is directing a new Terminator trilogy, he’ll probably do Terminator 6 as well to complete the series.

The question is, will Arnold be willing to return as the lead in Terminator 5 since he’ll be done being governor by then? Crosses fingers.

Report: 1, 2 Freddy’s coming for you 3,4 Better lock your door 5, 6 The reboot is a go 7,8 Shooting will begin this Spring 9, 10 Never sleep again

Platinum Dunes is definitely moving forward to the “Nightmare on Elm St.” remake, as they just got the greenlight with Warner Bros. and New Line. “Cape Fear” writer Wesley Strick will pen the script. Shooting will begin this Spring right away, and they will film in the Chicago suburbs. The greenlight was due to the fact that the “Friday the 13th” remake has got positive feedback.

The question is, will Robert Englund be back as Freddy? The answer is no, of course, but it is possible that Englund will have a role but not as the Freddy character.

Expect Platinum Dunes to find an actor for Freddy Krueger very quickly since filming will start this Spring, so hope they find somebody good.

More on it here:

Hope they do a good job with the Freddy remake and hope they find the right actor for Freddy. Sure, there can’t be a Freddy movie without Robert Englund, but the dude is getting too old to play the character. My bet, is that I think they’ll find a Robert Englund look alike to play Freddy. It’ll probably be an unkown actor, not a big name star.

BREAKING NEWS: Hugh Jackman is set to host the 81st Annual Oscars…

The Academy announced, the shocking news that “Australia’s” leading star and he received the award for People’s “Sexiest Man Alive”, Hugh Jackman is set to host the 81st Annual Oscar Awards on February 22nd in 2009. He will be taking over comedian Jon Stewart’s spot as host. Jon Stewart host of “The Daily Show” on Comedy Central, hosted the Oscars the last two years. The next two years maybe Jackman’s turn.

Variety Reports:

http://www.variety.com/VR1117997283.html

How much do you want to bet that Hugh’s going to be making jokes of his “Sexiest Man Alive” award throughout most of the show? He’s probably going to be making fun of himself for entertainment value.

And how much do you want to bet now that Hugh Jackman is host, he will get nominated as Best Male Lead for “Australia” and he will win that award no matter what happens. That will also attract Nicole Kidman to win Best Female Lead for “Australia”, that way it can bring Nicole and Hugh together on stage.

I hope Jackman has what it takes to host an awards show ’cause I don’t think he has before and hope he will be entertaining, and not boring like Jon Stewart was.

I got online late because I lost power most of the day due to today’s snow storm.

Film Review: Quantum of Solace

Starring: Daniel Craig, Gemma Arterton, Olga Kurylenko, Judi Dench

Directed by: Marc Forster:

So on a day of Christmas shopping at the mall today, I did end up seeing a movie so I decided to see the new 007 flick “Quantum of Solace”.

Plot synopsis: “Quantum of Solace” is actually the continuing sequel from the first movie “Casino Royale”. Bond is out to seek revenge after being betrayed by Vesper Lynd, the woman he fell in love with in “Casino Royale”. Bond captures a man named Mr. White which he reveals the man who stole Bond’s casino winnings, when he was playing poker back in “Casino Royale”. M (Judy Dench) warns Bond that this mission could be dangerous and risky, but Bond ignores her and vowed to complete his mission.

Bond discovers that a man named Dominic Greene who is a member of the Quantum organization which he poses as an environmentalist who aims to take complete control over water supply in Bolivia. Bond later learns that he needs to stop Dominic Greene from taking control of the water supply, the more Bond does that, the more he gets closer and closer for finding the people who ever hired Vesper Lynd to mess with Bond’s life.

My thoughts on the movie? I would like to add this movie to one of the worst movies of 2008. Yes, this movie was that bad. I hated it. I thought “Casino Royale” was amazing but “Quantum of Solace” was laughable. The storyline was kind of interesting, but the acting, the action scenes, the filming, etc. We’re very poorly done. The action scenes were pretty silly that they reminded me of Pierce Brosnan’s 007 films. Thumbs down to “Quantum of Solace”. “Casino Royale” was an amazing movie, I loved it to death, but the 007 films have gone downhill quickly when this piece of shit came out. Definitely wait for DVD on this one.

Score for “Quantum of Solace” = * (1 star as in poor)

Report: Chris Weitz been offered to direct “New Moon” by Summit Entertainment…

Summit Entertainment is not wasting any time trying to find a director replacement for “New Moon”. Summit Entertainment offered film director Chris Weitz an opportunity to direct the “Twilight” sequel. He is the director of such films as “The Golden Compass”, the first “American Pie” comedy film, and “About a Boy”.

More on it here:

I don’t like the director choice. I hope he turns it down and Summit finds a better choice. I still say go for either M. Night Shyamalan or Sam Raimi. Either of those two guys would improve the Twilight series for everyone to see it.

Report: “Wall-E” named Best Picture of the Year by the Los Angeles Film Critics…

The Los Angeles Film Critics Assn. has named “Wall-E”, an animated film about a robot made by Disney/Pixar, “Best Picture of the Year”. For them, this is the first time an animated movie has been named “Best Picture”. “The Dark Knight” is the runners up.

See the rest of the winners here:

http://www.variety.com/VR1117997085.html

Is this a sign that “Wall-E” could get Best Picture nomination for the Oscars and it could actually win? That’s why this year’s Oscars is so unpredictable.

“Wall-E” does look amazing and I’ve been dyin’ to see it ever since it first came out in theater but I never did. I did put the “Wall-E” DVD on my Christmas wishlist so hopefully I’ll get “Wall-E” under the Christmas tree also. “Wall-E” looks like a great flick and can’t wait to see it.
